Scraggly stray puppy ‘waves’ at woman across street and begs her to ‘pick her’

On the way home from work, a woman encountered a lively, playful puppy on the sidewalk. This little ball of fur, with her boundless energy and irresistible charm, immediately caught the woman’s attention. The puppy’s joyful antics, darting around and wagging her tail, brought a smile to the woman’s face, making the stress of the... PUKE: CBS’s Burleson, King Lob Nauseating Softballs at Fauci as Dokoupil Does His Job

Tuesday’s CBS Mornings marked the latest stop on Dr. Tony Fauci’s book tour for his memoir and, considering co-host/Democratic donor Gayle King and co-host/former NFL player Nate Burleson were at the table, it largely consisted of one gross softball after another sucking up to this former leftist icon about how tough it must be to be him, how some don’t understand science, and how America would be in trouble if Trump were to be elected. Despite their hobnobbing, co-host Tony Dokoupil actually pressed Fauci on two issues Americans are most likely to care about when looking back at the coronavirus pandemic: the toll of school closures and the virus’s origins. King’s opening was a nauseous setting of the table, boasting of “his pivotal role in fighting the Covid pandemic, and pivotal is the word here” and his biography of diseases faced while at NIH and having worked under seven persidents. Her first question was about the Pfizer vaccine and how he allegedly broke down upon being told by the company’s CEO about the possibility of a vaccine for COVID-19. In other words, nothing about concerns Americans have had about them, even their effectiveness. Later, King bemoaned Fauci still requiring personal security and being viewed by some as “a lightning rod” despite having been “a public service officer who’s done — who basically really has saved millions of lives” and “what you always say...is that you were guided by science always and telling the truth”.     Burleson, King, and Fauci also took turns ripping former President Donald Trump as unfit for the presidency and peddled the long-debunked lie about Trump said COVID-19 was a hoax (click “expand”): BURLESON: And you’ve spoke about your relationship, and write about your complicated relationship with former President Donald Trump. He could possibly be our president again. Given that you know him, personally, from a public health perspective, do you believe he is fit to lead us if he is elected president? FAUCI: You know, I don’t want to get into what’s fit or not, that — I want to stay in — BURLESON: From public health — health perspective, though. FAUCI: — from a health standpoint, he missed opportunities to use the bully pulpit of the presidency to tell people to do things that would keep them safe. That’s what bothers me as a public health person, as a physician, who my only care and goal is the safety and the protection of the American public and their health. And, for example, he could have said when the masks came out, and the CDC said wear a mask, instead of saying I don’t want to wear a mask — BURLESON: Right. FAUCI: — he could have said masks saves lives — KING: Yeah. FAUCI: — oh, wear a mask, and then, all the people who follow him religiously — BURLESON: Mmm. FAUCI: — would have been wearing masks. KING: They would have believed him. FAUCI: And it would have been the same thing. BURLESON: They hang on every word. KING: Early on, you called him to say, look, Mr. President, this is serious, this is — you have to be honest with the people and let them know how serious it is, and the very next day, Dr. Fauci, he’s on — he’s — he’s saying the whole thing is a hoax. FAUCI: Yeah. KING: What did you think — FAUCI: Yeah. KING: — when you saw him say that, after you had a very extensive conversation? BURLESON: Intimate meeting with him. KING: Yeah. FAUCI: I was flabbergasted. It was like whiplash cause when I was speaking to him, you know, one-on-one —  KING: Yeah. FAUCI: — saying Mr. President, you’ve got to be honest with people. It will come back to bite you if you don’t. We have a real problem. And I actually was convinced that he — he agreed with me. And then I went home and put the television on and he said it was a hoax. But, when asked by Burleson about Biden, Fauci said he’s “absolutely” fit to remain president given how he made Fauci “his chief medical adviser” and told him “the first day...we want to go with the evidence and the truth”. Minutes later as the interview ended, King repeatedly thanked him “for saving lives”. In contrast, Dokoupil’s questions were not only challenging (especially for a liberal broadcast network interview), but drew out the side of Fauci we’ve come to expect when he’s not having his feet rhetorically rubbed: disgusted and testy. Here was his question on schools: As we get further from Covid, I think a lot of people, though, are asking themselves, what did we learn and what will we do better the next time? And one clear area seems to be the school closures which did enormous harm to kids on multiple levels and — and didn’t seem to save lives. And I wonder, can we say today that is a mistake, the closures? A grouchy Fauci whined “no”, adding “what was not a mistake is the actual closure because when we had to shut down that 15 day to flatten the curve, we were in a tsunami of cases” with “freezer trucks” for bodies at places like Elmhurst. Dokoupil stood his ground: “Oh, I remember the hospital outside my house. I’m not talking about the initial — I’m not talking about the initial — I’m talking about the depth and the prolonged.” Fauci continued to say “no” and insisted he would “get to that.” Only a few moments later and proclaiming he always supported reopening schools did he concede year-long-plus closures were bad.     Dokoupil’s other contrarian moment actually came when King tried to suck up to Fauci by lamenting “people blame you for Covid” and “[t]here’s some conspiracy that, you know, you’re working behind the scenes, that there was a lab in China that you’re responsible for.” After Fauci said “the viruses funded by the NIH were so distant from the origin standpoint” pf COVID-19 it couldn’t have come from a lab, Dokoupil invoked Harvard and MIT biologist Alina Chan’s New York Times column arguing for the lab leak. Once again, Fauci scoffed (click “expand”): DOKOUPIL: I mean, there’s a researcher named Alina Chan who’s affiliated with MIT and Harvard — FAUCI: Yeah. DOKOUPIL: — who’s a little fuzzier on the — on the covid — FAUCI: But she’s a pretty fuzzy person, quite frankly. DOKOUPIL: — okay. FAUCI: — when it comes to that, so — DOKOUPIL: Alright, well, The New York Times published her op-ed. She thinks — FAUCI: I’m surprised that The Times wrote that, yeah. DOKOUPIL: — so you don’t agree the most likely scenario is the lab leak theory? FAUCI: No. I think that, for anybody to say it’s most likely, we have to keep an open mind. DOKOUPIL: Okay. BURLESON: Yeah. FAUCI: If you look at the virologists, the overwhelming — BURLESON: Yeah. FAUCI: — number of virologists in the country, they feel that the evidence, though not convincing — BURLESON: Yeah. FAUCI: — is more suggestive of it being a natural origin, though not — not a slam dunk. To see the relevant transcript from June 18, click here.

Stewart Attacks 'Right-Wing Mother*******' For Talking About Gun Crime

Jon Stewart was greatly displeased on Monday that “right-wing mother[bleeper]ers” have dared to criticize blue city crime rates and especially crimes committed with guns because, in his world, gun crime is Republicans’ fault. After playing a montage of various former President Donald Trump and others lamenting such crimes, Stewart decried, “Now all of this, by the way, is not to say that gun crime does not exist. Of course it does! And some cities are worse than others. But here's the thing, and I say this with all due respect: the balls of these right-wing mother[bleep]ers!”     Stewart tried to blame Republicans for the problem they seek to blame Democrats for, "Talking about how there's too much gun crime and chaos in our Democratic cities when Republicans are the ones who've enabled the flood of illegal weaponry into our cities in the first place. That's right. So, don't get your little panties in a bunch. Here is something you want to know: 93 percent of the illegal guns used in crimes in New York City aren't from here! They, like theater majors, have come here to make a name for themselves. The guns come from states like Florida and Georgia and South Carolina, where the gun laws are lax. And trust me, Florida's not sending us their best guns.” It’s interesting that Stewart mentioned New York City because this rant was part of a larger diatribe against conservative attacks on crime and Democrat-controlled cities more generally. Stewart pointed to reports showing the crime rate has dropped and claimed conservatives have gone from “facts don’t care about your feelings” to their feelings not caring about facts. However, a drop from a very high number to a slightly less high number should not be counted as a win, but even more problematic for Stewart is that New York City (and Los Angeles, Chicago, and 37 percent of police departments) did not submit crime statistics to the FBI last year, down significantly from 2019. As for Stewart, he continued by trying to satirize Trump’s immigration stance, “They're bringing guns for drugs and crime and rapists, and some I assume, are good guns. And try as we might to put up some border controls to stem this invasion, this flood of literally undocumented weapons, Republicans fight every attempt to bring some kind of order. And even pass laws to increase the chaos! Look at all the laws and the things that they have done!” As Stewart disappeared behind a screen of headlines, he recalled, “In 2005, they passed a law that effectively protects gun dealers and the gun manufacturers from being held liable for where their guns end up.” Yes, and car companies are not responsible for a licensed driver’s reckless driving. Nevertheless, Stewart continued, “They also try and make sure that terrorists and felons could still get guns.” That bill ran into due process concerns and did not automatically prohibit people on the no fly list from purchasing firearms. Stewart also decried, “And just recently, they made sure that they can turn those guns into machine guns with bump stocks! They make it impossible to study the effects of guns! They make it impossible to track the illegal guns! They fight [bleep] everything!” That doesn’t explain why the crime was committed and why the city failed to prevent it. Here is a transcript for the June 17 show: Comedy Central The Daily Show 6/17/2024 11:12 PM ET JON STEWART: Now all of this, by the way, is not to say that gun crime does not exist. Mark Levin: Biden’s mental fitness is a ‘serious issue’

There should be no question at this point that Joe Biden’s mental decline is accelerating, and Mark Levin believes this should be of grave concern to us all. “This issue of dementia is a serious issue,” Levin says. “I should know. I’ve had two people in my family who’ve had Alzheimer’s and one who had moderate dementia. It’s not funny, it’s very upsetting.” This is why, Levin says, that he’s “disgusted” that Biden is running for president. “We’re talking about the president of the United States. We’re talking about one branch of government that controls whether we go to war or not and what type of weapons we use among a thousand other things,” Levin says. While Biden has moments when he seems okay, it’s not unusual for patients with mental disorders to seem as though they’re back to normal sometimes. “Everybody says, ‘See? He was great for 90 minutes, he was great for an hour, he was great.’ Many people who have dementia or Alzheimer’s early stages can do that sort of thing,” Levin says. “There’s a reason Joe Biden has taken vacation 40% of his presidency, there’s a reason why he won’t have, give, and take press conferences on a regular basis. There’s a reason why his staff walks around him when he goes to and fro from the helicopter. There’s a reason why we’re seeing on television what we’re seeing and we’re hearing what we’re hearing out of the president’s mouth — because he’s not well,” he continues. “It’s not funny, but it’s utterly unconscionable and irresponsible for the largest political party in this country to be nominating somebody for president who they nominated before when he wasn’t well, when the vast majority of its members know damn well that what I’m saying is the truth.” Want more from Mark Levin? To enjoy more of "the Great One" — Mark Levin as you've never seen him before — subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

HHS doesn't request background checks for juvenile illegal immigrants, says Biden admin official: Report

The Biden administration's Department of Health and Human Services does not request the criminal records of illegal immigrants under 18 years old, according to testimony provided by a senior HHS official, the New York Post recently reported.Last June, Robin Dunn Marcos, an HHS official, told the House Judiciary Committee that the department does not request complete background check information for unaccompanied alien children. She testified that the HHS does contact the juvenile's home consulate or embassy to request some information.'These policies have incentivized criminals.'Marcos is the deputy assistant secretary for humanitarian services and the director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement in the Administration for Children and Families at HHS.A House Judiciary Committee member told Marcos, "Earlier you mentioned that [the Office of Refugee Resettlement] contacts the UAC consulate and the UAC's home country to verify date of birth, birth certificate of the UAC, and whether the UAC is suspected of being an adult in those types of contexts.""What else does ORR verify with consulates? What other type of information?" the committee member asked. In testimony obtained by the Post, Marcos responded, "I believe that it is birth certificates and identity documents."When asked whether HHS requests "the criminal record in the home country from the consulate," Marcos responded, "We do not."Unaccompanied children, which includes those under the age of 18, are transferred to the ORR's custody. The department is responsible for providing the minor with food, shelter, and medical care. The ORR is also tasked with finding a sponsor to care for the child while they are in the U.S.The department has been repeatedly criticized for its handling of the illegal immigration crisis, particularly regarding how it selects sponsors for minors. The HHS has been accused of having a "culture of speed over safety."HHS whistleblower Tara Lee Rodas claimed that the department "lost immediate contact" with 85,000 unaccompanied alien children after placing them with sponsors. She stated that some of the so-called vetted sponsors are "criminals and traffickers and members of Transnational Criminal Organizations."As of fiscal year 2023, of the lost children, 70% were age 15 or older, the Post reported. Most of the juveniles were boys, it noted. The House Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement issued a report on Monday that accused HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra of creating a "toxic situation" that endangers Americans and UACs. "As the Committee and Subcommittee's oversight has shown, these policies have incentivized criminals, such as the MS-13-affiliated illegal alien who murdered Kayla Hamilton, to come to the southwest border, knowing they very likely will be released into the interior of the country. Tragically, the Biden Administration has failed to engage in necessary diligence in the case of the UAC that murdered Kayla Hamilton, instead doubling down on the very policies that enabled her murderer to roam free," the report read.Hamilton, 20, was raped and killed by a 17-year-old MS-13 gang member who was allowed into the U.S. by DHS and placed in the custody of a sponsor. The suspect was previously arrested in his home country of El Salvador for his association with the gang. This information was only verified after Hamilton's murder, the committee's report noted. When unlawfully crossing the border, some adult illegal aliens pose as children.Simon Hankinson, a senior research fellow with the Heritage Foundation's Border Security and Immigration Center, previously told Blaze News, "You'd be amazed how many are '17' when apprehended. With no verified ID, and with DHS having deliberately abandoned DNA testing and not doing bone-density or other methods, there is no way to be sure. This is a great way for transnational criminal organizations (gangs) like Tren de Aragua and MS-13 to bring in members."Like Blaze News? KJP suggests videos of Biden's latest mental lapse are 'deepfakes' — but there's nothing fake about these 5 incidents

President Joe Biden joined former President Barack Obama and a handful of Hollywood script-readers in Los Angeles over the weekend to raise money for his re-election campaign. Unlike excerpts of the heavily edited video of the event circulated online by Democratic operatives, Chris Gardner of the Hollywood Reporter shared raw and uninterrupted footage showing the 81-year-old presidential candidate freezing up once again following a shaky interview. In the uncut video, Obama then grabs Biden by the wrist and guides him offstage. As this was one of a series of instances in recent weeks where Biden appeared stunned and momentarily paralyzed, the White House and Biden boosters further afield — both foreign and domestic — worked vigorously on damage control. In the White House press briefing Monday, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre leaned on a narrative cooked up in the pages of the Washington Post and other allied publications, which suggests that unflattering videos of Biden are "manipulated." Jean-Pierre attempted to attribute the term "cheap-fakes" originated with the press, but it was White House senior deputy press secretary Andrew Bates who initially trafficked the term in media statements. "That's exactly what they are. They are cheap-fakes video," said Jean-Pierre. "They are done in bad faith." Even though the latest video came from a reporter at a left-leaning publication, Jean-Pierre stressed that "the right-wing critics of the president have a credibility problem because ... fact-checkers have repeatedly caught them pushing misinformation, disinformation." The American people have far more to go off than recent videos of Biden ostensibly locking up to conclude that his mental decline is worsening; that he is severely limited in his ability to execute the duties of his office; and that he is altogether too old to hold office — as they have concluded in recent polls. Below are five glaring and well-documented examples of Biden gaffes, lapses, and collapses that might warrant suspicion of the White House's denial. 1. The time-traveling president After suggesting that "Trump and his MAGA friends" were an obstacle to America realizing its grand potential at a February campaign event in Las Vegas, Biden said, "You know, right, right, right after I was elected, I went to what they call a G7 meeting. All the NATO leaders. And it was in — it was in the south of England. And I sat down and I said, 'America is back.'" Blaze News previously reported that the 47th G7 Summit in Cornwall, England, was held just months before Biden's deadly withdrawal from Afghanistan. "And Mitterrand, from Germany — I mean, from France, looked at me and said — said, 'You know, what — why — how long you back for?'" said Biden. "And I looked at him, and the — and the chancellor of Germany said, 'What would you say, Mr. President, if you picked up the paper tomorrow in the London Times, and London Times said, 'A thousand people break through the House of Commons, break down the doors, two bobbies are killed in order to stop the election of the prime minister. What would you say?'" "I never thought about it from that perspective. What would we say that happened in another democracy around the world? Well, the whole world watched — the whole world watched. And what's going on?" added the president. Biden not only misstated, corrected, then once again misstated François Mitterrand's nationality but erred in suggesting he was alive. Mitterrand was not the chancellor of Germany Biden allegedly spoke to but rather a former French president who died in 1996. Biden revealed on another occasion that he might be mentally at least two years behind the time, noting in 2022, "There's a lot of reason to be hopeful in 2020." Even then, Mitterrand was firmly out of earshot. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people with dementia have problems with memory; attention; communication; reasoning, judgment, and problem solving; and visual perception beyond typical age-related changes in vision. Forgetting names and old memories are among the signs of dementia highlighted by the agency.2. 'Where's Jackie?' Republican Rep. Jackie Walorski of Indiana died in a car accident on Aug. 3, 2022. Biden eulogized her later that day, writing, "Jill and I are shocked and saddened by the death of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski of Indiana along with two members of her staff in a car accident today in Indiana." The Democratic president noted further, "We may have represented different parties and disagreed on many issues, but she was respected by members of both parties for her work on the House Ways and Means Committee on which she served. She also served as co-chair of the House Hunger Caucus, and my team and I appreciated her partnership as we plan for a historic White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health this fall that will be marked by her deep care for the needs of rural America." The White House flew the American flag at half-staff for two full days, and Biden even called the family to offer his condolences, reported the New York Post. While at the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health the following month, Biden revealed that the memory of a partner's recent passing failed to stick. "And I want to thank all of you here, including bipartisan elected officials like Representative McGovern, Senator Braun, Senator Booker, Representative — Jackie, are you here? Where's Jackie?" said Biden, according to the White House's own transcript. "I didn't think she was — she wasn't going to be here — to help make this a reality. And thanks to Senator Stabenow, Representative DeLauro for their leadership." 3. Doubling down Biden, who indicated in an interview years ago that he "could drop dead tomorrow," addressed donors at a swanky Manhattan campaign reception hosted by billionaire real estate heiress Amy Goldman Fowler in September 2023. Biden shared a revisionist account of what events prompted him to run for office, referencing the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017, and recycling the false claim that former President Donald Trump suggested there were "fine people on both sides" as if to include the white identitarians in Virginia at the time. According to Jonathan Lemire, White House bureau chief for Politico and political analyst for MSNBC — hardly a right-wing critic — Biden finished telling this story, then told it "again, nearly word for word." The White House transcript confirmed that Biden repeated the story nearly verbatim. Jean-Pierre did not suggest the official transcript was a cheap-fake or deny that Biden was ostensibly playing for a crowd on a loop. Instead, she said he was "speaking from his heart." 4. Doubling over Biden has unfortunately suffered a number of falls and stumbles since taking office in 2021. Three incidents in particular stand out. On March 19, 2021, the staircase onto Air Force One proved too much for Biden to handle. Video shows the Democrat, then 78 years of age, scaling the stairs with a firm hold on the handrail. His right leg appears to buckle, sending him stumbling forward. Biden then corkscrews onto one knee, regains his footing, then completes the climb. Blaze News previously reported that Jean-Pierre blamed the fall on the wind. "It's pretty windy outside," said Jean-Pierre. "It's very windy. I almost fell coming up the steps myself." On June 1, 2023, Biden made an appearance at the graduation ceremony for the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. After shaking the last of the graduates' hands, Biden collapsed. While White House communications director Ben LaBolt suggested Biden had tripped over a sandbag. Days after stumbling up the stairs to Air Force One again, Biden went for an ill-fated bike ride near his Delaware beach house in June 2022. He rode up to a crowd, slowed down, then collapsed onto his side. The White House indicated Biden did not ultimately need medical attention. 5. Regime change Biden has confused country names, wars, and his sister with his wife. He has accidentally undermined painstakingly crafted American foreign policy and called on people to honor the Holocaust. Biden has also unwittingly snubbed foreign leaders. There was one occasion, however, where Biden confided in his own faculties and went off-script that proved more risky than the others. One month after Russia invaded Ukraine, Biden delivered an address in Warsaw, Poland, condemning the illegal action and underscoring that the battle ahead against autocracy will take time to win. Toward the end of his speech, Biden deviated from his prepared remarks and suggested what was then interpreted by many — including those in the Kremlin — to be a call for regime change in Moscow. "For God's sake, this man cannot remain in power," Biden said in reference to Vladimir Putin. CNN noted at the time that the White House rushed to correct the president, stating, "The President’s point was that Putin cannot be allowed to exercise power over his neighbors or the region." "He was not discussing Putin’s power in Russia, or regime change," said a White House official. "My gosh, I wish they would keep him on script," said Sen. Jim Risch (R-Idaho). "Any time you say or even, as he did, suggest that the policy was regime change, it's going to cause a huge problem. This administration has done everything they can to stop escalating. There's not a whole lot more you can do to escalate than to call for regime change." While the suggestion to an antagonistic nuclear power that the U.S. wanted its government overthrown was provocative, Biden accidentally risked provocation a second time that trip, implying to American soldiers in Poland that they were headed into Ukraine.
