Police arrested a non-U.S. citizen male in the murder of 22-year-old University of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley‚ and sources inside the Department of Homeland Security say the illegal immigrant was known by law enforcement‚ according to reports. During a Friday evening press conference‚ the local police chief said that 26-year-old Jose Antonio Ibarra has been charged with “malice murder‚ felony murder‚ aggravated battery‚ aggravated assault‚ false imprisonment‚ kidnapping‚ hindering a 911 call and concealing the death of another.” “He lives here in Athens‚ but is not a U.S. citizen‚” Clark stated‚ adding that a search warrant has been executed for Ibarra’s apartment‚ and that evidence was still being collected.
