Hollywood Celebrities React To Trump Verdict: ‘Tears Of Joy’

The most outspoken far-left Hollywood celebrities are weighing in to express their delight that former President Donald Trump was found guilty Thursday of falsifying business records in his New York hush-money trial.  Many reactions to the verdict on the left, right, and center have been negative, with many saying that the guilty verdict could shake public confidence in the court system. The Trump campaign confirmed that their fundraising website crashed after supporters rallied to show their support.  But in Hollywood, there was mostly undisguised glee. “Convicted felon Donald Trump is blaming the judge, the jury and New York for being found guilty on 34 counts. He will never accept accountability for his crimes. Americans must not allow this felon anywhere near the White House again,” singer Barbra Streisand tweeted. “GUILTY ON ALL CHARGES!!!!!” actress Bette Midler wrote in all caps.  “Thank you for saying that. It was awful and he is awful,” Kathy Griffin replied to someone celebrating the guilty verdict. “TEARS OF JOY.” “We are all cheering for justice and that no one is above the law!” actor John Leguizamo wrote.  “We should start referring to him as 34 instead of 45,” tweeted “Star Trek” actor George Takei, referring to the number of charges Trump was found guilty of compared to how he served as 45th President of the United States. “You’ll refer to him as 47 after Nov. 5th,” one commenter wrote in response to Takei’s tweet, indicating how many people believe the guilty conviction will help Trump win his bid for reelection later this year. “Star Wars” alum Mark Hamill posted an image of the word “guilty” written in bold red print 34 times.  “The Republican candidate for President is a convicted felon,” author Stephen King wrote.  Singer Katy Perry stayed cryptic, posting “LFG,” which is an acronym usually used to express enthusiasm that stands for “Let’s f***ing go.” Though most leftist celebrities were happy with the verdict, there was also plenty of disgust expressed on Twitter among celebrity figures.  British political commentator Piers Morgan wrote, “This is a sad, shameful and ridiculous day for America. To drag a former President, who is running for President again, through criminal courts over something so trivial feels a massive overreach & an incredibly divisive and obviously politically partisan action.” “This is the hill to die on,” author Scott Adams shared. Tucker Carlson called the verdict “the end of the fairest justice system in the world.”

Joe Manchin Leaves The Democratic Party

West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin announced Friday that he had left the Democratic Party and had registered as an independent, Axios reported. “To stay true to myself and remain committed to put country before party, I have decided to register as an independent with no party affiliation and continue to fight for America’s sensible majority,” Manchin said in a statement, according to NBC News. My commitment to do everything I can to bring our country together has led me to register as an independent with no party affiliation. pic.twitter.com/tvMB2N87AW — Senator Joe Manchin (@Sen_JoeManchin) May 31, 2024 “My commitment to do everything I can to bring our country together has led me to register as an independent with no party affiliation,” Manchin posted on X. Manchin previously announced in November 2023 that he would not seek re-election in the Senate, where he has served since 2010. Before entering the Senate, he served as the state’s governor from 2005 to 2010. Manchin indicated Wednesday that he would not enter the West Virginia governor’s race, despite rampant speculation that he would jump in, and he instead expressed his support for the Democratic nominee, Steve Williams. “My support is with Steve Williams,” Manchin said, according to The Hill. “He’s been a friend of mine for 40 years, and we’ve worked together. I know how good he is, I know how competent he is, and I know how hard he’ll work. So, I’ve been supporting Steve.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Williams will face the Republican nominee, state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, in November. Most election predictions forecast a solid victory for Morrisey. This is a breaking news story. Check back for updates.

Astoundingly Skilled: Teen Archer On Horseback Breaks World Record In Amazing Clip

If you’ve never seen mounted archery in action, this horseback sport is pretty incredible. Can you imagine the amount of skill and concentration it takes to hit a target while riding a horse? Well, at 16, French equestrian Chloé Simons not only completed this feat repeatedly while competing in the Aleramo Ride Cup in Italy, but she also broke a horseback archery record! She shared a truly impressive video of her accomplishment on social media. In the clip, Chloé galloped her horse, Eden, along a trail lined with targets. As she passed each one, she swiftly shot an arrow into it, aiming for the center. She earned a whopping 114.99 points in this horseback archery competition, at the same time breaking the Junior World Record for this sport! @chloe_simons_horsearcher World record raid 234, Italy , 114.99 points #horsebackriding #horsebackarchery #foryou #pourtoi #worldrecord #thisgirlcan @forestiersellierofficiel @ShowRiders ♬ original sound – edited audios Chloé’s parents shared a post from International Horseback Archery Alliance announcing the astounding news on Facebook. “Congratulations to 16 year old Chloé Simons from France for setting a new Junior World Record in the R234 on her pony Eden de Kerbotin,” read the post. “Chloé recently set the new record of a 114.99 points at the Aleramo Ride Cup in Italy.” Here’s why you won’t see horseback archery in the Olympics. Commenters on Chloé’s video from the competition were truly amazed by her talent. However, many were wondering why mounted archery isn’t one of the horseback sports included in the Olympic games. According to a response from the young rider, it’s not a densely populated activity. Screengrab from TikTok “There aren’t enough horseback archers out there for it to be an Olympic sport unfortunately,” Chloé replied to one user. In another comment, the 16-year-old athlete wrote, “It’s great this video is doing so well because we need to promote the sport. The more people who do it the more likely it will become an Olympic sport.” Let’s hope that seeing this young woman’s talent will inspire more riders to pursue horseback archery! “American Idol” Runner-Up Will Moseley Overtakes Winner Abi Carter On ‘Billboard’ Charts

The latest season of American Idol has ended, but the contestants’ journeys as musical artists have only just begun. Best of all, this doesn’t only apply to the winner, Abi Carter. That being said, the most recently crowned champion certainly is having a great start to her career post-Idol. When joining the show, Abi captured the attention of fans with her incredible rendition of What Was I Made For? by Billie Eilish. Now, she’s captivating audiences again — but with an original song. Her latest single is called This Isn’t Over. Thanks to all of the loving fans Abi Carter has garnered during her run on American Idol, the song debuted at No. 23 on the Digital Song Sales chart on Billboard, selling 2,436 copies. And that doesn’t even count streaming numbers! Considering how new Abi is to the music world, this is especially impressive! Plus, she’s only getting started — there’s more music to come! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Abi Carter (@abicartermusic) “I want to start releasing songs ASAP. I’ve been writing for so long now and I can’t wait to put something out in the world that I so fully believe in,” Abi says, adding, “Not that the other ones that I’ve put out have not because they do, but I think it’ll be just a little bit different and I’m really excited for it.” Runner-Up Will Moseley Charts Above Abi Carter on Billboard View this post on Instagram A post shared by American Idol (@americanidol) Meanwhile, runner-up Will Moseley is also having the time of his life. Despite not winning, he couldn’t be happier for the opportunities being on Idol has and continues to give him. In fact, he also has a song that’s charting — and it’s above Abi! His song, Good Book Bad, debuted at No. 14 with 3,457 copies sold. Plus, Will already has big plans coming up: He’ll be opening for Zac Brown Band on June 2! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Abi Carter (@abicartermusic) “Coming out of college, I thought about getting a job but I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t give myself a year,” he said, explaining he gave himself a year to decide if music was the right path for him. “I think for me that year mark rolling around at the season finale and me still being in it, that’s the special part.” No matter how Will and Abi chart in comparison to one another, one thing is for sure: Both of these friends have tons of loving fans who can’t wait to hear more music from them both!
