'Gremlin' Kittens Move Indoors for the First Time‚ Spending this Winter in Comfort and Warmth

Four "gremlin" kittens moved indoors for the first time‚ spending this winter in comfort and warmth. Jennifer at NewKittensOnTheBlockLast month‚ four little kittens were surrendered to the Humane Society for Hamilton County as strays‚ without a cat mother. They were around four weeks old and desperately needed a foster home.Jennifer‚ a volunteer for the shelter‚ was asked if she could help the kittens. Without hesitation‚ she took them into her care with open arms."Someone at the shelter said they looked like gremlins‚ so they were assigned Gremlins names‚" Jennifer shared with Love Meow. Billy‚ Kate‚ Stripe‚ and GizmoJennifer at NewKittensOnTheBlockThe kittens were inquisitive‚ fearless‚ and playful from the start. Shortly after arriving‚ they started scampering around their new room‚ claiming every inch they touched. The fluffiest kitten‚ Gizmo‚ was an instant character‚ screaming at his foster mom with squeaky meows. Gizmo has a lot to sayJennifer at NewKittensOnTheBlockThey were treated for tummy troubles and needed help cleaning their faces and paws. They likely had been separated from their mom too early and struggled to eat on their own."They couldn't figure out the bottle either. I would mix formula with their food‚ but they weren't eating enough to gain weight‚" Jennifer told Love Meow. Jennifer at NewKittensOnTheBlockAfter two days of fighting the bottle‚ Jennifer offered formula in a dish. The kittens were intrigued‚ sniffing around. Once their tongues touched the food‚ they started lapping it up with vigor. With their bellies filled to the brim at each meal‚ the kittens began putting on weight. "After a few days of formula in a dish‚ they were also eating wet food much better‚ so I was able to wean them off the formula completely." Kate and StripeJennifer at NewKittensOnTheBlockGizmo continued to be a force of nature. Despite his small stature‚ he was loud‚ sassy‚ and dramatic‚ climbing the summit of every cat post and striking at the feather toy with all his might. He has the longest hair but is the messiest of the bunch‚ keeping his foster mom busy with all the cleaning. Jennifer at NewKittensOnTheBlockHis siblings‚ Kate‚ Stripe‚ and Billy (tuxedo)‚ have different personalities. Billy is obsessed with his foster mom‚ clambering up her legs and shoulders‚ craving her constant attention."When I'm sitting in the pen. I'll randomly notice that he's found his way into one of my hands. He likes to be held like a baby‚ stretching out on his back and dozing off." BillyJennifer at NewKittensOnTheBlockStripe and Kate‚ the tabbies‚ feed off each other's energy‚ pouncing on top of one another and wrestling nonstop. When all four kittens zoom around the playpen simultaneously‚ they create a cacophony of pitter-pattering fun. They are busybodies who don't seem to stop until they tire themselves out. StripeJennifer at NewKittensOnTheBlockOne by one‚ the kittens curl up in a pile‚ purring themselves to sleep. In a few weeks‚ they have grown by leaps and bounds. Kate‚ previously the smallest of the litter‚ has overtaken her brothers‚ Stripe and Billy. Gizmo currently tops the weight chart. Jennifer at NewKittensOnTheBlockWith more pep under his feet‚ Gizmo is braver than ever‚ always the first to approach new things. "The bigger he gets‚ the sassier he gets.""They enjoy playing with any and all toys and chasing/wrestling each other. They love snuggles. They are enjoying their new access to the cat tree and napping in the window‚ in a big pile together." Jennifer at NewKittensOnTheBlockGetting in the holiday spirit‚ Jennifer added a few holiday-themed scratching posts to the room. The kittens immediately swarmed the toys‚ busying themselves with a whirlwind of activity. They romped around‚ climbing up and down the posts‚ batting at toys‚ and turning the place into their playground. Jennifer at NewKittensOnTheBlockWith a second chance‚ these kittens will enjoy the winter in a home with bountiful food‚ warm blankets‚ and cuddles from their people.Gizmo‚ leading his crew of mischief-makers‚ is getting to know the resident cats who will show the kittens the ropes and teach them how to be a cat. Jennifer at NewKittensOnTheBlockShare this story with your friends. Meacham Seizes on Pearl Harbor Anniversary To Launch Sneak Attack On Trump

Meacham Seizes on Pearl Harbor Anniversary To Launch Sneak Attack On Trump

For the liberal media‚ any occasion is good if it can be used to bash Donald Trump. And so it was that on Thursday's Morning Joe‚ historian and occasional Biden speechwriter Jon Meacham used the occasion of December 7th‚ the 82nd anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor‚ to draw a strained analogy to the challenge facing America in the face of Trump with call outs to threats to democracy and dictatorship. Give Meacham credit: the liberal media's Trump = Hitler analogies have become so commonplace that we have largely become inured to them. So‚ Trump = Hirohito/Tojo might be seen as a refreshing change of villain!  Note that Meacham didn't even find it necessary to call out Trump by name as representing a threat‚ and a choice‚ for America analogous to that facing our country at the beginning of WWII. Meacham spoke of the America then being: "Dragged into a fundamental conflict between democracy and dictatorship‚ between the Enlightenment and fascism." And he said that‚ just as America ultimately made the right choice in waging war against Japan and Germany‚ so too did he have faith that: "We‚ as fallen‚ frail‚ and fallible people‚ can get our own time right."     Regular viewers of Morning Joe know that "fascism" and "fascist" were Joe Scarborough's words of choice when describing Trump. Earlier in Thursday's show‚ Meacham said he agreed with Chris Christie when‚ during last night's GOP primary debate‚ he called on people to take the threat of Trump seriously when he speaks of being a "dictator." And‚ of course‚ there's the liberal media's drumbeat that the election of Trump spells the end of democracy in America. Indeed‚ just last month we caught Meacham darkly warning that: "If we lose this [i.e.‚ if Trump wins] it's really hard to see how we get it back--the United States of America."  Note: We include in our video the show's segment-ending clip from FDR's legendary "Day of Infamy" speech. Roosevelt led America down a road toward socialism. But he deserves great credit for his leadership in the face of the Axis powers. Listen to his words‚ his accent‚ his cadence. They don't make them quite like that anymore.  Here's the transcript Click "expand" to read: MSNBC's Morning Joe 12/7/23 6:18 am ET JOE SCARBOROUGH: Jon‚ there are‚ are days that forever change America. Of course‚ September 11th‚ 2001. November 22nd‚ 1963. You can draw a line straight through that date and‚ and write volumes of books about the America before and the America after Kennedy was assassinated. And of course‚ December 7th‚ 1941‚ perhaps the most momentous date in the 20th century. . . .  JON MEACHAM: The implications from this date elevated America to an unrivalled‚ unparalleled‚ position of power. Imagine four years later‚ we had the capacity in our hands to destroy human life. We had that much power because of the Manhattan Project. You had this remarkable‚ rapid‚ rise to a dizzying pinnacle of power. But we were dragged into this. We were dragged into a fundamental conflict between democracy and dictatorship‚ between the Enlightenment and fascism.  We were dragged into it‚ not only by the Japanese attack today‚ but five days later‚ by Adolf Hitler's declaring war on the United States. We did not declare war on Nazi Germany until Nazi Germany declared war on us. So as Churchill once said‚ you can always count on the Americans to do the right thing‚ once we've exhausted every other possibility. And I think that that's an important thing for us to remember. Not to‚ therefore‚ lower our expectations of ourselves‚ but to remember that even the greatest generation‚ as our friend Tom Brokaw called it‚ talking about your family‚ my grandfathers were in the war‚ even they were not early on this story. They weren't early converts to the defense of democratic values versus the horrors of dictatorship‚ particularly in Europe. But we got it right. And so what that tells us‚ seems to me‚ is that if they got it right—and they were fallen‚ frail‚ and fallible people. We‚ as fallen‚ frail‚ and fallible people‚ can get our own time right. FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT: December 7th‚ 1941‚ a date which will live in infamy. The United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan. I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday‚ December 7th‚ 1941‚ a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese empire.

PBS or DNC? NewsHour Host Amna Nawaz Honors Liz Cheney and Her Dictator Doom

PBS or DNC? NewsHour Host Amna Nawaz Honors Liz Cheney and Her Dictator Doom

Is it the PBS NewsHour or the DNC NewsHour? Many nights‚ you couldn't tell the difference. Co-host Amna Nawaz interviewed Liz Cheney on Thursday‚ and she was just like NPR's Leila Fadel in merely facilitating all of Cheney's Republican-ripping talking points from her new book. Republican tax dollars are used to trash Republicans on "public" broadcasting.  The segment's online headline was just a PR echo: Liz Cheney’s ‘Oath and Honor’ spotlights dangers of a potential 2nd Trump presidency. Nawaz's questions were fluffy softballs:  1. What would another Trump presidency mean for America? 2. Do you think he would be more dangerous in a second term‚ because he understands the system better? 3. You document the role Kevin McCarthy‚ in particular‚ played in working to overturn that 2020 election. He announced this week that he will be leaving Congress at the end of the year‚ before his term is up. He's saying that he will serve America in new ways. Does his departure surprise you? 4. Almost three years after the January 6 attack‚ it's fair to say accountability and the work to hold people accountable is still very much going on. We have the rioters still being prosecuted‚ fake electors this week indicted in Nevada‚. Another group of fake electors in Wisconsin settled a lawsuit acknowledging that Mr. Biden did win. You talk about other people being held accountable. I wonder‚ what about members of Congress? Do you believe there should be accountability there‚ and what does that look like? 5. This week‚ we also saw Speaker Mike Johnson say that he would release the January 6 security tapes‚ but blur faces. Does that kind of thing‚ in your view‚ get in the way of accountability? 6. What message do you think it sends when he says‚ we're going to blur the faces? This may be the most challenging question‚ and it's complaining that she didn't tell more about evil Republicans in her "tell all" book:  You name some of your former colleagues in the book‚ in terms of what they were saying privately versus what they were saying publicly. There's a story you tell about what happens in the Cloakroom‚ with people signing an objection letter to the election results. And you name Mark Green as sighing and saying the things‚ "We do for orange Jesus‚" referring to then-President Trump. There's others that you don't name‚ though. You talk about one senior Republican congressman who refused to speak out‚ you say because of political consequences‚ but he says to you: "Liz‚ surviving is all that matters." And I just wonder if you think people‚ enablers‚ as you call them‚ should be held accountable‚ why not name them in the book? Cheney said she withheld names of colleagues who were afraid for their own security. But then she suggested they should quit if they can't handle the threat.  I say in the book‚ though‚ although I understood very much his fear about security‚ that I thought perhaps he needed to be in another line of work‚ that‚if you come to a point where‚ as a member of Congress‚ you're not willing to cast your vote the way you think you should‚ especially on something as important as impeachment‚ then you really — you need to rethink both sort of where we are as a country‚ but also whether or not you're the right person in that position. Neither Nawaz nor Cheney was going to explore how there were ten House Republicans who voted for the second impeachment of Trump days before he left office. Only two of them are still in the House. Some of them left to make big book deals and draw love on PBS. PBS NewsHour was brought to you in part by Consumer Cellular and their new "Freedom Calls" campaign.

Hunter Biden nailed with a 9-count criminal indictment in California

Hunter Biden‚ the beleaguered son of the president‚ is facing a new criminal indictment in the Central District of California‚ according to several news outlets. The charges include nine counts related to federal tax fraud. He is accused of committing a four-year scheme to avoid paying $1.4 million in federal taxes for the years 2016-2017 and also filing false tax returns. The charges were filed in California because special counsel David Weiss would have to file charges in whatever district the tax return under question was filed. The 53-year-old had previously agreed to a plea deal on the tax charges that would allow him to escape jail time‚ but that deal fell apart after the judge claimed that attorneys tried to sneak in provisions that would protect their client from further prosecution. Biden has pleaded not guilty to all charges related to three felony counts of making a false statement on a gun license application. Attorneys for Hunter Biden have gone on the offense against his media detractors. In July‚ they sent former President Donald Trump a cease and desist letter against statements that might "incite" his "easy-to-trigger" followers to violence. President Joe Biden was asked in Oct. 2022 to comment on the possibility that tax and gun charges might be filed against his son. "Well‚ first of all‚ I'm proud of my son‚" said the president in part. "I have great confidence in my son‚” Biden added. “I love him and he’s on the straight and narrow‚ and he has been for a couple years now. And I’m just so proud of him.” Here's more about the Biden indictment: Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Derek Hough says his wife needed 'an emergency craniectomy'

Derek Hough of "Dancing with the Stars" fame announced that his wife Hayley Erbert Hough needed an emergency surgery but is stable."At the end of last night's tour performance in Washington D.C.‚ my wife Hayley became disoriented and was taken to the hospital. She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy. She is in stable condition‚" Hough said in a written statement posted to Instagram on Thursday. "I want to thank the first responders and medical personnel who have cared for and continue to care for her. I ask for your prayers and positivity during this time."According to the Cleveland Clinic‚ a craniectomy involves removing part of the patient's skull."A craniectomy is a type of major brain surgery where a surgeon removes part of your skull to access your brain‚" the Cleveland Clinic states. "Your care team might consider a craniectomy to reduce swelling‚ pressure or bleeding (extra fluid) on your brain. Pressure in your skull from swelling or extra fluid can be life-threatening or cause brain damage because there isn’t a lot of room between your brain and your skull. Any pressure is dangerous and can affect how your brain functions."Hough and his wife have been on a tour‚ and the tour schedule indicates that there was a show in Oxon Hill‚ Maryland‚ on Wednesday."I was in DC last night. The show was absolutely amazing… Hayley was fabulous… I am so sorry this happened. We were sad to not see her at the end of the show. I had a feeling something happened… Many prayers and sending love‚" someone wrote in response to Hough's Instagram post about his wife's medical emergency."Sending you all the love I have in my soul. Prayers for a speedy recovery‚" DWTS host Alfonso Ribeiro wrote. Hough's sister Julianne Hough‚ who like her brother also has a long history with the DWTS program‚ cohosted the latest DWTS season with Ribeiro.Like Blaze News? Adam Kinzinger calls Tulsi Gabbard 'crazy'

On the anniversary of the infamous 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii‚ former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii questioned whether "the remilitarization of Japan" is really a good idea."As we remember Japan's aggression in the Pacific‚ we need to ask ourselves this question: is the remilitarization of Japan‚ which is presently underway‚ truly a good idea? We need to be careful that shortsighted‚ self-serving leaders do not end up bringing us again face-to-face with a remilitarized Japan. #PearlHarbor82‚" Gabbard tweeted.Former Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois — who currently has the Ukrainian phrase "Slava Ukraini" next to his name on X‚ along with American‚ Ukrainian‚ and Israeli flag emojis — responded to Gabbard's post by calling her "crazy." "This lady is crazy. Wut‚" Kinzinger wrote in response to Gabbard's post. The former congressman describes himself on X as a "Proud RINO." — (@) Political figures have been highlighting the somber anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack."Today‚ we honor the more than 2‚400 American service members who lost their lives during the attack on Pearl Harbor. We will forever remember the sacrifices they made‚ and are grateful for all veterans who bravely serve this country‚" Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis‚ who is currently running for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination‚ tweeted. — (@) "Today‚ we commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. A date which will live in infamy. Let us always remember the bravery and service demonstrated on that fateful day‚ and always honor the memories of the Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice‚" GOP Rep. Defund and leave the UN? Mike Lee‚ Chip Roy‚ and Mike Rogers push legislation to do just that

Three GOP lawmakers are pushing legislation that would have the U.S. completely withdraw from the United Nations and cut off all funding to the globalist organization.Sen. Mike Lee of Utah‚ Rep. Chip Roy of Texas‚ and Rep. Mike Rogers of Alabama are pushing the proposal‚ which would put the kibosh on U.S. ties to the U.N. and affiliated entities‚ including the World Health Organization."The UN doesn't deserve one single dime of American taxpayer money or one bit of our support; we should defund it and leave immediately. I am proud to lead this critical effort alongside Mike Lee and Mike Rogers‚" Roy said‚ according to a press release."No more blank checks for the United Nations. Americans' hard-earned dollars have been funneled into initiatives that fly in the face of our values –enabling tyrants‚ betraying allies‚ and spreading bigotry‚" Lee said‚ according to the press release. "With the DEFUND Act‚ we're stepping away from this debacle. If we engage with the UN in the future‚ it will be on our terms‚ with the full backing of the Senate and an iron-clad escape clause."While conservatives would hail the prospect of the U.S. completely ditching the U.N.‚ the legislation likely has no chance of advancing through Congress‚ as many lawmakers would probably oppose the idea of U.S. withdrawal."The President shall terminate all membership by the United States in the United Nations‚ and in any organ‚ specialized agency‚ commission‚ or other formally affiliated body of the United Nations‚" the text of the measure reads in part.Like Blaze News?
