Couple Drove to Shelter for One Cat but Ended Up Being Persuaded by Two More from the Same Room

A couple drove to an animal shelter for one cat but ended up being persuaded by two more from the same room. Tara and SteveTwo weeks ago‚ Tara and Steve headed to an animal shelter expecting to adopt a cat. Little did they know what lay in store for them.Their journey to adopt began seven months ago when they lost their beloved 18-year-old brown tabby‚ Jackson. They were heartbroken coming home without the warm welcome and companionship that once filled the space."I didn't know when we would be ready (to adopt again)‚ but I knew we would. Giving another stray baby a home would be the perfect honor to the memory of our boy‚" Tara told Love Meow. ShadowExploitsValleySPCAAfter Christmas‚ Tara and Steve stumbled upon a post from Exploits Valley SPCA about a tabby cat named Shadow. "I instantly knew he was ours. He also gently reminded me of our Jackson‚ and we just fell in love."A few days after they put in an application‚ they received a call from the shelter to set up a meet-and-greet. Thrilled‚ the couple prepared everything from a carrier to supplies to food. During their drive to the shelter‚ the idea of adopting two was loosely suggested. Shadow met Tara and Steve at the shelterTara and SteveThey arrived 45 minutes before the shelter opened. Once inside‚ as much as Tara tried to conceal her excitement‚ she was completely giddy at the thought of the cat."As soon as we saw him‚ we knew that feeling we had was spot on. It was almost like he did as well. Two seconds of being with him‚ and we knew he was coming home with us."Just when the couple thought "mission accomplished‚" their plans began to "deviate." Poco melted into Tara at the shelterTara and SteveWhen they mentioned the possibility of getting a second cat‚ Sarah from the shelter showed them a white and brown boy named Poco‚ who had his eyes on them the whole time. The moment Tara held him in her arms‚ Poco nuzzled under her chin and turned into a purring puddle. "He's like putty. He just wants to snuggle and love you and purr."Then‚ a third cat named Pony‚ a rotund tabby with gorgeous markings‚ caught their eye. PonyExploitsValleySPCAAs if Pony didn't want to be left out‚ he enthusiastically rubbed against Tara and Steve while talking away to them. Before they could decide on a second cat‚ now there were three. As the couple went back and forth‚ weighing their options‚ the cats put on the best "adopt me" performance ever. "It was like they had a group meeting the night before where they prepared ahead of time how to get us to adopt all three." They were adopted together and renamed Flynn‚ Riggs‚ and Chirp (from left to right)Tara and SteveTara and Steve started their day expecting to adopt one cat‚ but it all escalated very quickly. Their household increased from two to five in one fell swoop. The 5-hour ride home was peaceful‚ with Pony seeking occasional hand-holding. After the hectic first two days‚ the house was fully equipped for the three new fur kids‚ now renamed Chirp‚ Flynn‚ and Riggs. Flynn and Riggs are best friendsTara and Steve"They are getting along great together. Flynn and Riggs are besties."Chirp‚ who came from a less-than-ideal situation‚ needed extra reassurance from his parents that he was loved and safe. "Every day‚ we can see he's starting to get that with us. He is very entertaining to watch when he's in full play mode." Chirp needed extra TLCTara and SteveFor Chirp‚ feeding time has become a race for the fastest. The second he hears the cupboard open‚ he flies to the kitchen in the blink of an eye‚ chirping at his humans to hurry things up."Flynn purrs as soon as you touch him and cannot get enough of burrowing into that space between your shoulder and neck." Chirp the distinguished couch man and Flynn the laundry helperTara and Steve"Riggs is a flopper. He is calm and chill and is perfectly happy to wait for his brothers to be fed before him‚" Tara shared."We are very much in love with all three of these guys‚ and we truly feel we were all meant for each other." Riggs is a snuggle bugTara and Steve"Our house finally feels like a home again‚ and our spirits have been lifted. Jackson will never be replaced‚ but he would be happy to know his people are being taken care of and that his home continues to be filled with love and happiness." ‘The Candidate Is Joe!’ Hostin SCREAMS at View Cast to Shut Up‚ Get Behind Biden

‘The Candidate Is Joe!’ Hostin SCREAMS at View Cast to Shut Up‚ Get Behind Biden

The liberal ladies of ABC’s The View had a particularly volatile reaction to former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie telling the network that President Biden was “past his sell-by date” and to get a different candidate. It culminated in staunchly racist and anti-Semitic co-host Sunny Hostin screaming at the panel and demanding everyone shut up‚ get in line‚ and stop speaking ill of Biden immediately. After playing a soundbite of Christie‚ moderator Whoopi Goldberg could barely gather her thoughts before speaking. “You know what‚ ooh‚ my goodness gracious‚” she stumbled to speak. Once she got her footing‚ Goldberg bizarrely argued that Biden “kicked butt a couple days ago” and “did better” than former President Trump in the South Carolina primary. “You know‚ nobody knows what's coming‚ but‚ you know‚ you can't tell Democrats to get –” Goldberg began before being interrupted by apparent involuntary convulsions [see included video]. Holding up Biden’s primary results in South Carolina and comparing them to Trump was bizarre because there was nothing to compare them to. The Republican presidential primary wasn’t scheduled until February 24‚ over two weeks away. “You know‚ I do not like when Republicans tell Democrats what they need to do in their house‚” Hostin indignantly chided. “Why don’t Republicans sweep their own Trump trash first in this house and then give Democrats advice.”     Hostin’s indignation was fairly hypocritical since she and The View have a habit of telling Republicans what to do with their house. Last month‚ the cast bashed Iowa Republicans for voting for Trump‚ they said they wanted former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley to stay in the race to annoy Trump‚ and they literally begged former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney to run third party to pull GOP away from Trump. In whining about Christie not naming a Democrat to replace Biden with‚ co-host Joy Behar tacitly admitted that Democrats don’t have a bench of politicians that could step up. “Why go on TV and say somebody else without naming? Who? FDR? He's dead. Okay? The good ones are all gone‚” she said. Faux-conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin ridiculously suggested they could put up a “generic Democrat” like Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer‚ the COVID tyrant. As the conversation went on‚ Hostin became triggered and started screaming that they should shut up and get behind Biden. She even started spewing falsehoods about how good a president he was: HOSTIN: There isn't going to be another candidate! The candidate is Joe Biden! GOLDBERG: So‚ suck it up! HOSTIN: He has run this country well! He has so much to run on! He's got a better economy‚ inflation is down‚ job growth‚ more job growth than any other president in the past couple of decades! BEHAR: His infrastructure bill. HOSTIN: Infrastructure bill. BEHAR: Created jobs. In reality‚ Biden couldn’t legitimately take credit for the number of jobs created since the vast majority of those were people being allowed to return to work after the pandemic. He also couldn’t reasonably be given credit since he (and his supporters in the liberal media‚ like The View) spent the first three years of his presidency claiming there was nothing he could do about inflation since the office supposedly didn’t hold that kind of power. “He has a platform to run on! The Republicans have zero to run on!” Hostin continued to scream. “The best candidate that the Republicans could come up with is Donald Trump! So‚ again‚ Republicans do not give Democrats advice!” The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: ABC’s The View February 6‚ 2024 11:03:33 a.m. Eastern (…) CHRIS CHRISTIE: I like President Biden personally. Always have. But‚ you know‚ past his sell-by date. [Cuts back to live] [Audience gasps] WHOOPI GOLDBERG: You know what‚ ooh‚ my goodness gracious. JOY BEHAR: Yeah. GOLDBERG: First of all‚ what are you talking about?! He did -- he kicked butt a couple days ago. SUNNY HOSTIN: South Carolina. GOLDBERG: He did better than you-know-who did. Okay? So‚ it's not – [Applause] You know‚ nobody knows what's coming‚ but‚ you know‚ you can't tell Democrats to get – [starts convulsing] Look‚ you take it. HOSTIN: Okay‚ I have the same thought. You know‚ I do not like when Republicans tell Democrats what they need to do in their house. (…) 11:04:47 a.m. Eastern HOSTIN: Why don’t Republicans sweep their own Trump trash first in this house and then give Democrats advice. BEHAR: To his credit‚ Chris Christie has been sweeping a lot of dirt about the Republicans and‚ you know‚ I like Chris Christie but -- HOSTIN: I don't understand that‚ Joy. BEHAR: Why go on TV and say somebody else without naming. Who? FDR? He's dead. Okay? The good ones are all gone. ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: The bigger problem too‚ because I actually agree with him. I think a generic Democrat would do better -- BEHAR: Who. Give me a name. FARAH GRIFFIN: Throw – I mean – Gretchen Whitmer – (…) 11:07:21 a.m. Eastern HOSTIN: There isn't going to be another candidate! The candidate is Joe Biden! GOLDBERG: So‚ suck it up! HOSTIN: He has run this country well! He has so much to run on! He's got better economy‚ inflation is down‚ job growth‚ more job growth than any other president in the past couple of decades! BEHAR: His infrastructure bill. HOSTIN: Infrastructure bill. BEHAR: Created jobs. [Crosstalk] HOSTIN: Wait a second. He has a platform to run on! The Republicans have zero to run on! BEHAR: Nothing. Nothing. HOSTIN: The best candidate that the Republicans could come up with is Donald Trump! So‚ again‚ Republicans do not give Democrats advice! [Crosstalk] SARA HAINES: Just have a fair‚ open conversation. What Alyssa is bringing to the table is something you see all over‚ people are talking about this. This isn't a fringe idea. HOSTIN: There was a Quinnipiac poll that just had Biden beating Trump. [Crosstalk] HAINES: The ratings are 37 percent. [Crosstalk] FARAH GRIFFIN: There is another poll that has him losing in every single battleground state by double digits to Donald Trump. [Goldberg shouting over them to stop talking about polls] (…)

‘Vibes...Are Not Good’; Nets Fret Trump ‘Told’ GOP ‘To Walk Away’ From Border Deal

As NewsBusters has documented‚ ABC‚ CBS‚ and NBC used their Monday morning and evening news shows to run crisis communications for the Biden administration and U.S. Senate to promote their border deal. By Tuesday morning‚ it turned towards shaming Republicans as they whined “the vibes in Washington are not good” as Donald Trump “told” Republicans to ensure they “tanked” the deal. Once again‚ ABC’s Good Morning America led the way in its partisanship‚ starting with co-host and former Clinton official George Stephanopoulos again bashing the impending impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.     “To Washington now where House Republicans and former President Trump have tanked the Senate’s bipartisan border security bill as they set a vote to impeach Homeland Secretary Mayorkas despite no evidence of impeachable offenses‚” Stephanopoulos proclaimed. Senior congressional correspondent Rachel Scott followed suit as a liberal tool: And it’s been nearly 150 years since a cabinet secretary was impeached by the House‚ but never over a policy dispute. Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was deeply involved in those Senate negotiations. That border deal? Now on thin ice. Scott continued to use the liberal line of touting the amount of money thrown at a problem as if it’s indicative of success and promoted the liberal line that Republicans only oppose the deal because Trump told them to (click “expand”): SCOTT: The bill includes $20 billion for border security‚ forcing the border to shut down when migrant apprehensions reach 5‚000 a day‚ and making it more difficult to apply for asylum in the U.S. The package also adds $60 billion for Ukraine and $14 billion for Israel. Months ago Mike Johnson called for a compromise like this one. JOHNSON [on 11/02/23] We want to pair border security with Ukraine because I think we can get bipartisan agreement on both of those matters. SCOTT: But that was before Donald Trump weighed in. DONALD TRUMP [on Newsmax’s Rob Schmitt Tonight‚ 02/05/24]: It’s a trap for Republicans. That would be so stupid‚ so foolish to sign a bill like this. SCOTT [TO LANKFORD]: Is the pressure from Trump misguided? Is it helpful? SENATOR JAMES LANKFORD (R-OK): He’s trying to get elected to be the President of the United States. I have got something I’m trying to accomplish. It’s securing the nation and our border right now. SCOTT: Senate negotiators touting that the bill is even supported by the conservative-leaning border patrol union‚ which calls it a step in the right direction. SENATOR CHRIS MURPHY (D-CT): Many Senate Republicans are going to oppose this because it’s too effective‚ because Donald Trump is telling them no‚ keep chaos at the border. Don’t solve the problem because that’s good politics for us. Well‚ that’s really bad for the country. Shifting over to the peacock network‚ NBC’s Today followed the same pattern as Monday with co-host Hoda Kotb using an opening tease to poo-poo the GOP: “Border battle. Senate Republicans now threatening to block the bill they negotiated to crack down on illegal crossings. The Speaker of the House already saying it has zero chance of passing.” Later on‚ Capitol Hill correspondent Ryan Nobles had the segment and sounded like a reality TV and or college fraternity bro when he bemoaned that “the vibes” in D.C. “are not good” because of the GOP: And the border crisis is extending to cities across the country‚ but here in Washington‚ a solution remains elusive. And‚ much like the last four decades‚ Republicans and Democrats are blaming each other for the growing immigration problem. The vibes in Washington are not good. Republicans and Democrats both raising serious concerns about the $118 billion national security package to the point where the bill’s future is in serious doubt. Without diving into why Republicans might oppose this on policy grounds‚ Nobles accepted the left’s excuse: “But the Democrat who led the negotiations‚ Senator Chris Murphy‚ says the concerns are not related to the policy‚ but instead the politics of an election year.” Nobles explained that‚ in turn‚ “there will be no path towards changing the situation” and included sound of the Democrat Texas sheriff saying the need to act now isn’t “a red and blue issue.” Nobles also touched on the Mayorkas impeachment‚ stating that’s the GOP’s priority along with declaring “the bill dead on arrival” as‚ on the former‚ they “can only afford to lose two votes after Ken Buck of Colorado said he plans to vote no” on what “Mayorkas has called...a political stunt.” CBS Mornings came out swinging with this from co-host Tony Dokoupil: [T]he Senate immigration compromise — well‚ it’s gotten a big endorsement by a group that knows the issue well‚ the generally right-leaning union for border patrol agents‚ the people actually down there. But it doesn’t look like it’s going to matter because Republicans are being told to walk away from the deal by former President Donald Trump. Nikole Killion reports now on the politics that are killing this deal. Shortly after acknowledging “[t]he bipartisan border compromise is now on life support‚” congressional correspondent Nikole Killion pointed to “Trump...urging Republicans lawmakers to kill the package”‚ adding (click “expand”): KILLION: The measure would be one of the strictest border policies in decades‚ requiring the border to be temporarily shut down when migrant crossings hit 5‚000 a day‚ boosting the number of border patrol agents‚ and speeding up the asylum process in an effort to end the controversial catch-and-release policy.  SPEAKER MIKE JOHNSON [on FNC’s The Ingraham Angle‚ 02/05/24]: It would not resolve any of the problems. KILLION: House Speaker Mike Johnson‚ a Trump ally‚ is urging fellow Republicans to reject the deal‚ knowing immigration policy is a political vulnerability for President Biden. (....) KILLION: Meantime‚ the House is preparing to move forward with an impeachment vote today against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas‚ who helped negotiate this border deal. If passed‚ he would become only the second cabinet official in U.S. history to face impeachment‚ Tony. DOKOUPIL: Politics there at play as well. Foreign Facebook Oversight Board Member Calls for Whole of Society Approach to Censor in US

Foreign Facebook Oversight Board Member Calls for Whole of Society Approach to Censor in US

Yet another Meta Oversight Board member has raised the alarm about so-called “bad actors” trying to undermine the electoral process — but rest assured she has the solutions to these problems: a whole of society approach to censoring speech. Meta Oversight Board Member Helle Thorning-Schmidt‚ the former Denmark prime minister turned alleged election expert‚ talked out both sides of her mouth in an op-ed calling on Big Tech to crack down on so-called “disinformation” — a common euphemism used by the left to censor online speech with which they disagree. At the same time‚ she stated that companies “must tailor their policies to basic principles of transparency and freedom of expression.” She warned that if we’re “not careful‚” 2024 could be the year that “fracture[s] democracy.” She also specifically called for governments to help in silencing speech‚ and urged Meta toward “closing the loopholes” in its censorship policies. Much like the Biden administration’s push for a “whole of society approach‚” she even had an explicit call for government and private entities to work together to censor speech. “[G]overnments‚ regulators‚ civil society and academics must work with us if we are to meet the challenge of combating election disinformation‚” Thorning-Schmidt pronounced. MRC recently exposed the Biden administration’s new strategy to censor and push leftist activism into American classrooms using a dizzying network of public and private actors both foreign and domestic. In the op-ed for the Financial Times‚ Thorning-Schmidt scaremongered‚ “the year that breaks election records may also fracture democracy.” Unfortunately‚ the former Prime Minister does not appear to see free speech as essential to a free democracy. Artificial intelligence (AI) has “amplified” the “risks” of supposed “disinformation” with deepfake images and other content‚ she claimed.  While acknowledging the Oversight Board’s decision not to censor an edited video seemingly showing President Joe Biden inappropriately touching his granddaughter‚ she whined that Meta’s manipulated media policy “makes little sense.” Since the policy does not ban all types of edited content‚ and focuses specifically on AI rather than a more comprehensive approach‚ Thorning-Schmidt demanded a stricter policy. “There are clear tensions between allowing freedom of expression and protecting people from real-world harm‚” she asserted‚ urging the impossible task of analyzing a user’s intent. Even while urging transparency‚ and suggesting some content be labeled rather than removed‚ Thorning-Schmidt specifically insisted on moderation (i.e.‚ censorship) during crisis situations. “[In] crisis situations‚ including elections where the risk of violence is high‚ policies should reflect threats to physical safety and security‚” Thorning-Schmidt wrote. “A clear system for moderating content in a crisis is important.”  This sounds all too familiar‚ as leftists have routinely used crisis situations‚ like the COVID-19 pandemic and recent banking failures‚ as opportunities to further their agenda. As leftist Chief of Staff for former President Barack Obama once claimed‚ “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.” Thorning-Schmidt argued that governments should have to publicize their censorship requests‚ but did not adopt the idea that governments should not try to crush free speech at all. “Disproportionate censorship can contribute to a climate of misinformation and affect users’ rights to access information or share opinions‚” she rambled. Meta will be publishing its metrics on monitoring content‚ including election content‚ in 2024 after Oversight Board pressure‚ she wrote. Another Oversight Board member‚ Pamela San Martín‚ also recently claimed that Facebook’s 2020 election censorship was not sufficient. A Media Research Center poll found in November 2020 that 17 percent of then-presidential candidate Joe Biden’s voters would not have voted for him had they known the scandals censored by Big Tech and the legacy media. MRC Free Speech America Assistant Editor Luis Cornelio contributed to this report. Conservatives are under attack. Contact Facebook headquarters at (650) 308-7300 and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency‚ clarity on “misinformation” and equal footing for conservatives. If you have been censored‚ contact us using CensorTrack’s contact form‚ and help us hold Big Tech accountable.

Democratic DA Fani Willis slapped with yet another disqualification request

Democratic DA Fani Willis slapped with yet another disqualification request

A 229-page court motion filed Monday alleges Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis "has engaged in a pattern of prosecutorial‚ forensic misconduct" requiring her disqualification from overseeing the Georgia case against Trump co-defendant and former Georgia GOP Chair David Shafer. The Feb. 5 motion‚ which has been adopted by ex-Coffee County GOP Chairwoman Cathy Latham‚ another Trump co-defendant‚ also requests the disqualification of Willis' entire office and prosecution staff. The latest filing on Shafer's behalf came just days after Willis admitted to having an affair with Nathan Wade‚ the married and ostensibly unqualified man she tapped to run lead on the Georgia case. It is the fourth motion filed since Jan. 8 to disqualify the Black Panther's daughter. Latham's adoption means a total of five defendants in the Georgia case are now seeking Willis' ouster. The other three are former President Donald Trump‚ Michael Roman‚ and Bob Cheeley. The Feb. 5 motion to disqualify Willis rehashes many of the claims originally made in Roman's Jan. 8 motion to disqualify concerning possible criminal wrongdoing and misconduct on the Democrat's part‚ stressing that "all of the causes for the disqualification are self-inflicted blows." "The District Attorney's employment of Mr. Wade to investigate and prosecute the defendants and payments to Mr. Wade of over a half a million dollars from the Fulton County treasury while allowing Mr. Wade to pay for vacations for the District Attorney and other personal expenses constitutes a disqualifying conflict of interest as well as a violation of ethical rules applicable to attorneys and Fulton County employees‚ and potentially criminal laws‚" wrote Shafer's lawyer‚ Craig A. Gillen. Willis' lawyers claimed Friday in the state's response to previous motions to dismiss and disqualify that she has no financial conflict of interest or personal conflict of interest that would justify her removal. Whereas Wade said in an affidavit attached to Willis' Friday response that expenses for their romantic getaways "were roughly divided equally between us‚" Shafer's motion suggested otherwise — claiming receipts shared publicly show they "are not remotely 'roughly' equal‚" reported the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Receipts in Wade's divorce case revealed that the special counsel apparently blew $7‚200 on airline tickets‚ hotels‚ and cruise reservations for trips he took with Willis. The Democratic DA‚ on the other hand‚ appears to have spent only $697 on airline tickets for their trip to Miami. Wade has apparently been in a good position to pay more‚ having secured a higher hourly rate with Willis' office than at least one other special counsel and billed the county for over $728‚000 in legal fees‚ which the DA conveniently signed off on. Like the Trump's motion to disqualify‚ the Feb. 5 filing also suggests that Willis' publicized statements "have been severely prejudicial to the defense." "Straying wildly from the legal guardrails which are designed to protect the accused from improper‚ extrajudicial comments by a prosecutor‚ the District Attorney‚ for over a year-and-a-half‚ has given multiple interviews where she has improperly labeled some of the defendants as 'Fake Electors' and commented on the righteousness of her investigation and prosecution‚" said the motion. According to the filing‚ Willis' speech to a church congregation on Jan. 14 — where she characterized herself as a victim and intimated her critics were racists — was a tipping point. The motion alleges that in addition to prejudicing possible jurors‚ violating her oath of office‚ and breaking ethics rules‚ Willis' conduct constituted a breach of Georgia law concerning the employment of assistant district attorneys. The Journal-Constitution indicated that Shafer has requested that Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee change the venue for his case's later stages to a county that is not overwhelmingly Democratic to "ensure an impartial and less politically partisan jury." After all‚ the supermajority of Fulton County voters supported Joe Biden in 2020. Blaze News previously reported that McAfee‚ who is overseeing The State v. Donald John Trump‚ has scheduled a Feb. 15 evidentiary hearing to take up the misconduct allegations. Extra to all the requests for her removal‚ Willis also faces a Georgia Senate inquiry‚ pressing questions about possible improprieties from the county's audit committee chair‚ an impeachment push in the state legislature‚ and a congressional investigation. Trudeau exposed for inviting Ukrainian Nazi veteran to attend rally in Toronto after House speaker was blamed

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been exposed for inviting a man who fought in a Nazi unit in World War II to Parliament. It was previously believed that this was an error on the part of the speaker of the House‚ who resigned following the fiasco. In September 2023‚ Canada's Parliament faced international embarrassment after giving a standing ovation to Yaroslav Hunka‚ a 98-year-old veteran who fought in a Nazi unit for Ukraine in the Second World War. Hunka was even heralded as a Ukrainian and Canadian "hero" and received applause from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Trudeau for fighting communism.Due to the seemingly obvious fact that a soldier fighting for Ukraine against Russia in World War II would of course be under the Nazi banner‚ the Liberal government quickly faced criticism for the ordeal.Trudeau‚ who apologized at the time‚ saying it was "a mistake that deeply embarrassed Parliament and Canada‚" allowed House Speaker Anthony Rota to take responsibility for the incident‚ and Rota later resigned‚ the BBC reported. It has since been revealed that the prime minister himself invited the same man to attend a rally in Toronto‚ Ontario‚ to honor Zelenskyy during his visit to Canada. This event was on the same day he appeared in the Canadian Parliament. The invitation was sent on behalf of Trudeau through the Office of Protocol of Canada as a formal invite from the prime minister."Dear Yaroslav Hunka‚" the letter began. "The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau‚ Prime Minister of Canada‚ is pleased to invite you to a special event."The invitation featured an added disclaimer at the bottom‚ citing that guest recommendations were provided by groups like the Ukrainian Canadian Congress."Hundreds of Canadians were invited upon the recommendation of groups‚" the citation noted. "The individual in question was submitted by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress. The individual did not attend [the rally]." Canadian House Speaker Anthony Rota resigned after facing backlash over his applause for a Ukrainian solider with Nazi ties. \n\n#Canada #AnthonyRota #justinTrudeau #Nazi #WorldNews — (@) Canadian Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre called Trudeau a "hypocrite" and a "fake" after the invitation became public."We now learned that Justin Trudeau was lying again. He told us that bringing the former Nazi to the Ukrainian president's visit was all the speaker's fault; it had nothing to do with him. His office didn't even know about it‚ he claimed. Well‚ now we know that was exactly false." — (@) The prime minister's office confirmed to state broadcaster CBC News that Hunka was indeed invited to the rally in Toronto. "Last September‚ there was a community event with the president of Ukraine in Toronto with over 1‚000 people invited. Hundreds of Canadians were invited‚" Trudeau's office said. "The individual in question's name was submitted by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress. The individual did not attend. Knowing what is known now‚ the individual shouldn't have been invited‚" the spokesperson added. The letter was initially revealed through an Access to Information request‚ Canada's version of a Freedom of Information Act request.Like Blaze News? Thugs tackle DC woman‚ spray mace in her face‚ apparently hold knife to her side‚ steal her iPhone — yet she says 'I love DC'

Doorbell camera video caught the moment when three individuals chased and tackled a woman in northwest Washington‚ D.C.‚ over the weekend‚ sprayed mace in her face‚ apparently held a knife to her side‚ and stole her iPhone and other belongings. Yet the 26-year-old victim told WTTG-TV after the attack that "I love D.C." and that she has no plans to move out of the city. What are the details? The woman was walking on 2nd Street Northwest just before midnight Sunday when she saw a black sedan pull up‚ after which three people got out and began running toward her‚ Fox News reported‚ citing a police report the cable news network said it obtained. Video captured the moment when the victim was running away from the trio on a sidewalk — but they easily caught up to her‚ shoved her so hard that she fell to the ground‚ and then they gathered around her as she screamed. Here's part of the video; based on the accompanying audio‚ it appears that at least two of the attackers could be females: — (@) WTTG‚ citing the police report‚ said the trio stole her wallet with her debit and credit cards‚ her ID‚ and her insurance card. The station added that they also demanded she unlock her iPhone‚ which they also stole. "I'm definitely feeling shaken up‚" the woman told WTTG Monday. "Just general feelings of being unsafe‚ like‚ in my neighborhood. I just feel‚ like‚ personally targeted and sort of violated." When the station asked her if she's considering moving out of the city over the trauma of her experience‚ the woman replied‚ "No‚ I love D.C. It just makes me sad that this is going to change how I experience D.C. and how I interact with my neighborhood and my space around me." WTTG said detectives are searching for the suspects and asking anyone with information to contact them. While the station said the victim was left "crawling back to her home" after the attack‚ the end of the complete video of the attack — shown in WTTG's video report below — appears to depict the victim rising to her feet and walking back down the sidewalk. Ivy League school reinstates SAT‚ ACT admissions requirement: One of 'the most reliable indicators for success'

Dartmouth College‚ a private Ivy League university in Hanover‚ New Hampshire‚ announced Monday that standardized testing scores will once again be required for admission. An article from the university explained that class of 2029 applicants will be required to submit SAT or ACT scores to be granted admission‚ according to a campus-wide email from President Sian Leah Beilock.Dartmouth previously suspended the requirement for undergraduate applicants in June 2020‚ citing COVID-19. Other institutions‚ including Brown University‚ the Massachusetts Institute of Technology‚ and Harvard University‚ also paused the requirement. MIT has since reinstated the admission policy."It was a pragmatic pause taken by most colleges and universities in response to an unprecedented global pandemic‚" the school stated in a recent press release. "At the time‚ we imagined the resulting 'test-optional' policy as a short-term practice rather than an informed commentary on the role of testing in our holistic evaluation process. Nearly four years later‚ having studied the role of testing in our admissions process as well as its value as a predictor of student success at Dartmouth‚ we are removing the extended pause and reactivating the standardized testing requirement for undergraduate admission‚ effective with the Class of 2029."According to the university‚ the requirement will "improve — not detract from — our ability to bring the most promising and diverse students to our campus."A new research study conducted by a group of faculty revealed that high school grades coupled with standardized testing are "the most reliable indicators for success" at the university."[The study] also found that test scores represent an especially valuable tool to identify high-achieving applicants from low and middle-income backgrounds; who are first-generation college-bound; as well as students from urban and rural backgrounds‚" the university stated.Economics professor Bruce Sacerdote‚ who participated in the research group‚ explained that some applicants opted not to share their test scores when it could have "helped that student tremendously‚ maybe tripling their chance of admissions."Lee Coffin‚ vice president and dean of admissions and financial aid‚ noted that the study's results were specific to Dartmouth and not a "grander statement about higher ed across the United States."Last year‚ Columbia University became the first Ivy League institution to permanently eliminate standardized test requirements for admissions. West Virginia University also dropped the requirement‚ claiming it would reduce the "stress" of the college application process for undergraduates‚ Blaze News previously reported. In October‚ ACT reported that test scores hit a 30-year low‚ with high school students' results declining for six consecutive years. According to ACT‚ the average composite score dropped by 0.3 points from 2022.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox.
