A suspect charged with sexually assaulting a minor was thrashed by a man and the violent ambush was all caught on video.Yousuf Azami – a 59-year-old actor who was born in Afghanistan – was recently charged with kidnapping‚ lewdness‚ and sex assault charges.On Tuesday‚ Azami made an appearance at Las Vegas Justice Court for a preliminary hearing on the charges. "For some reason‚ Azami walked out of the Las Vegas Justice Court courtroom before the hearing‚" according to KLAS-TV.Security camera footage shows a man sitting on a bench outside the courtroom. He noticed Azami exit the courtroom and he followed him down the hallway of the courthouse. After appearing to briefly exchange words‚ the man then unleashed a powerful right hook that caused Azami to plummet to the floor. While Azami was on the ground‚ the attacker repeatedly punched the suspected child sex predator. Video shows bystanders and law enforcement officers immediately rushing to stop the physical attack. The assailant has been identified as Glenn Cromwell Jr.Cromwell was taken into custody and charged with battery.He was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in court on March 19.KLAS-TV reported that Cromwell is "connected" to the alleged teen victim. The Mirror claimed that vigilante is the father of the victim. Azami is accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl said to be age 14 or 15 at the time of the alleged sex crime. The alleged victim told police that she was walking around looking to "get something to smoke and eat" on Sept. 3‚ 2023. She claimed to have encountered Azami at a marijuana dispensary parking lot. Azami allegedly drove the young girl to his apartment.“Azami was on the couch for a while on his phone and then came to lay with her on the bed‚” according to police. “[The teenager] had just started to fall asleep when Azami lay behind her. She stated she felt his pelvis ‘grinding’ against her and he was not wearing any clothes.”The alleged victim said that she told Azami to stop his sexual advances. Charging documents say the teenager then took a shower‚ put on clothing belonging to Azami‚ and ran out of the apartment. The minor was reportedly near the Mirage Hotel‚ where "she met a man who was picking up his wife” and informed him that “she had been kidnapped and raped and needed police."Police officers responded to the Mirage Hotel for a report of child sex abuse. Azami denied having any sexual contact with the teenager‚ according to police. He alleged not to know the teenager was underage. Azami is scheduled to return to court on Feb. 20. He had been released from jail on $5‚000 bail. The court brouhaha took place in the same Las Vegas courthouse where a felon tackled and attacked Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus earlier this month.
