Boeing whistleblower killed himself, says final report; suicide note revealed: 'Enough!! F*** Boeing!!!'

John Barnett, 62, worked for Boeing for over half his life. Prior to his retirement in 2017, he worked on the 787 Dreamliner as a quality manager at the Boeing factory in North Charleston, South Carolina. In recent years, Barnett adopted a new role as whistleblower against the aerospace and defense corporation. According to Barnett's lawsuit against Boeing, workers were using "sub-standard" parts on the Boeing 787 aircraft, and leadership was ignoring malfunctions to save money. The whistleblower also claimed the company illegally retaliated against him for raising a stink about possible safety issues. When Barnett failed to show up to complete his pretrial deposition, police executed a welfare check, ultimately finding him on May 9, dead in his locked Dodge Ram truck outside the Holiday Inn where he was staying with a gunshot wound to the head. After months of wild speculation and innuendos, the Charleston Police Department revealed on May 17 that it had concluded its investigation into Barnett's death, reported the Post and Courier. The CPD statement referenced Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O'Neal's final autopsy report, which indicated that all findings were consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. 'Bury me face down so Boeing and their lying-ass leaders can kiss my ass.' WCBD-TV indicated there were multiple factors that prompted authorities to conclude Barnett took his own life: Barnett was found locked inside his car with the key fob in his pants pocket. There were no signs of forced entry or defensive injuries. Barnett previously struggled with mental health issues. The gun found in Barnett's hand was registered under his name and purchased in 2000. The trajectory of the bullet aligned with the gunshot wound observed and was fired by the decedent's gun. Barnett's phone records and hotel key use showed no signs of unusual activity. Security footage showed Barnett leaving the Holiday Inn on Savannah Highway by himself at 8:37 p.m. the night before his body was found. Footage also shows Barnett's truck backing into a parking spot minutes later — a spot where it remained until the next day. Security footage showed no evidence of anybody besides Barnett interacting with his truck. Investigators also found what appears to have been a suicide note on the passenger seat of his truck impressed only with Barnett's fingerprints. A copy of the note obtained by the New York Post reads, "America, come together or die!! I pray the motherf***ers that destroyed my life pay!!! I pray Boeing pays!!! Bury me face down so Boeing and their lying-ass leaders can kiss my ass." "Whistleblowers protection is f***ed up too!!" Barnett noted. "I can't do this any longer!!! Enough!!" Extra to writing "TRUMP 2024" and "I wasn't stoned when I wrote this ... really," Barnett apparently wrote, "To my family and friends, I found my purpose." Authorities claim to have authenticated the handwriting as belonging to Barnett, reported the Post. "We remain acutely aware of the sensitivity and public interest surrounding this case," a CPD spokesman said in a statement obtained by WCBD. "It is important to emphasize that our investigation was guided strictly by facts and evidence while remaining undisturbed by conjecture and external pressures." Blaze News previously reported that Barnett sounded the alarm in 2019 that up to 25% of oxygen systems on the 787 Dreamliner could be faulty and fail to work when needed. He also alleged that faulty parts were intentionally installed on aircraft at a Boeing factory and suggested that in at least one instance plane parts were sourced from scrap bins. Barnett told the New York Times in 2019, "I haven't seen a plane out of Charleston yet that I'd put my name on saying it's safe and airworthy." Boeing has long denied the allegations even though some of Barnett's concerns were reportedly substantiated by a 2017 Federal Aviation Administration review. Like Blaze News? Here’s why Apple ditched the M3 so quickly and moved on to M4 Macs

If you doubt that Apple has moved on from the M3 Mac lineup, one of the company's top insiders just confirmed it. In the latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that no Mac Studio and Mac Pro are expected until mid-2025. With that, Apple is skipping the M3 processor for the Mac Studio, Mac Pro, and Mac mini. But why has Apple rushed to announce the M4 chip, and when should we expect M4 Macs? The M3 was just a stopgap chip; the M4 is the real deal Apple's Mac chips are based on the iPhone's processors. By the time Cupertino introduced the A17 Pro chip, the first 3-nanometer processor, we knew it wasn't the chip Apple was aiming for. One reason the iPhone 15 Pro overheats is Apple’s 3nm chip. Previous reports said Cupertino decided to launch a 3nm processor with the iPhone 15 Pro to claim it was the first. However, the better processor would come a year later, when all other manufacturers could also take advantage of this technology. To be a bit more technical, the iPhone 15 Pro’s A17 Pro chip uses an N3E manufacturing process, which is considered a “transitional design chip.” The new M4 chip uses the N3B process, which is considered the second generation with improved yield. This N3B process will also be used for the upcoming A18 chip. This new method can provide better performance and power efficiency. With that, not only will iPhone users benefit from a better battery and fewer overheating issues with the iPhone 16. Fortunately, we know the power of the M4 chip thanks to the new iPad Pro. According to Apple, the M4 chip has a new CPU with 4 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores, with next-gen ML generators. Up to 50% faster CPU compared to M2. With a 10-core GPU, it offers Dynamic Caching and hardware ray tracing. M4 can deliver the same performance as the M2 with just half the power. The Neural Engine comes with a 16-core design, with up to 38 trillion operations per second. It’s 60x faster than Apple’s first Neural Engine. That said, why would Apple keep focusing on M3 Macs if it could deliver more power efficiency and other innovations with this new chip? If you're curious about when the new M4 Macs will land, we already know when to expect them below. Don't Miss: When will Apple release new M4 Macs? What were the Most Daring Missions of World War 2’s X-class Miniature Submarines?

During the Second World War a remarkable but often overlooked group of submarines played a crucial role in various operations, including the preparation for the D-Day invasion. These submarines, known as X-Craft, were small, specially designed vessels tasked with daring missions that often carried immense risk. Terry Bailey explains. An X-Craft 25 in Scotland during World War 2. The theatre of the Second World War, where naval supremacy often dictated the outcome of battles required innovation that became the key to success. Among the many remarkable developments of the era were the X-craft miniature submarines which stood out for the audacity, effectiveness and bravery of the crews who manned these vessels. The small but mighty vessels played a crucial role in some of the war's most daring and important missions, proving that size was no obstacle to bravery or impact. The genesis of the X-Craft can trace its pedigree back to the CSS H. L. Hunley, the small Confederate States of America submarine that played a small part in the American Civil War. The Hunley’s mission profile, like the British X-craft of the Second World War was to close with the enemy vessel and deliver an explosive device next to or near the hull of the target vessel then retired from the area.In the Second World War, the Allied forces faced the daunting task of neutralizing the formidable German battleship Tirpitz. Anchored in the remote fjords of Norway, the Tirpitz posed a significant threat to Allied convoys and naval operations in the North Atlantic. Traditional methods of attack, such as aerial bombing, had proven ineffective against the ship's heavily fortified defenses on the vessel and in the water including surrounding hills. In response to this challenge, British naval engineers embarked on a daring experiment: the development of miniature submarines capable of infiltrating enemy harbors that could deliver a devastating blow to high-value targets. The result was the X-Craft, a revolutionary vessel measuring just 51 feet in length manned by a crew of four. Operation SourceThe X-Craft's first major mission came in September 1943, with Operation Source—the audacious plan to attack the Tirpitz in its heavily defended anchorage at Altenfjord, Norway.Although a larger number of X-craft were assigned to Operation Source, however, only six eventually took part the mission, due to a number of unforeseen problems. Each craft was tasked with navigating treacherous waters and evading enemy patrols to reach their target after slipping from the mother submarine that towed the X-craft across the North Sea.The journey itself was a testament to the courage and skill of the X-Craft crews, who endured cramped conditions and the constant threat of detection as they navigated through hostile waters. Despite facing numerous challenges, including mechanical failures and adverse weather conditions, two X-Craft, named X6 and X7, successfully reached their target and deposited their side charges under the Tirpitz, there is some evidence that indicates that X5 also managed laid their charges.Although the attack failed to sink the battleship outright, it dealt a significant blow to the ship’s operational capabilities, forcing the Germans to withdraw the Tirpitz from active duty for repairs, providing the Allies precious time. The success of Operation Source demonstrated the potential of the X-Craft as a strategic weapon and paved the way for future missions. Operation GuidanceEncouraged by the relative success of Operation Source, the X-Craft were subsequently deployed on a series of daring missions throughout the remainder of the war, including Operation Guidance. In April 1944, Submarines X20 up-to and including X25 were dispatched to Bergen, Norway, as part of Operation Guidance. X24, under the command of a brave crew, attacked the Laksevåg floating dock. Originally, X22 was intended for this mission. However, tragically, it had been accidentally rammed during training and sunk, resulting in the loss of all hands.Undeterred, X24 proceeded with the mission, although the charges were initially placed under the merchant vessel Bärenfels, causing its sinking, the dock itself sustained only minor damage. Determined to succeed, X24 repeated the operation in September, this time successfully sinking the dock. Operation Postage ableAdditionally, the X-Craft submarines were instrumental in the preparatory work for Operation Overlord, the Allied invasion of Normandy. One notable operation, Postage Able, involved X20, commanded by Lieutenant KR Hudspeth.Spending four days off the French coast, X20 conducted periscope reconnaissance of the shoreline and echo-soundings during the day. Each night, two divers would swim ashore to survey the landing beaches, collecting samples for analysis.Despite challenges such as fatigue and adverse weather conditions, the operation provided vital intelligence for the upcoming invasion. Lieutenant Hudspeth's leadership during this mission earned him a bar to his Distinguished Service Cross. Operation GambitAs part of Operation Gambit, X20 and X23, each manned by a crew of five, acted as navigational beacons to guide the D-Day invasion fleet to the correct beaches. Equipped with radio beacons and echo sounders, these submarines played a crucial role in directing Canadian and British ships to suitable positions on Sword and Juno beaches. The use of oxygen bottles enabled the crews to remain submerged for extended periods, contributing significantly to the success of the operation. XE class submarines and Far East operationsIn August 1945, the new improved XE class miniature submarines were deployed in a daring attack on Japanese warships within Singapore harbor. The mission was meticulously planned, with XE3 assigned to attack the heavy cruiser Takao, while XE1 targeting the heavy cruiser Myōkō.XE3's journey was fraught with challenges, navigating through the Straits of Johor and evading harbor defenses. It took a total of 11 hours to reach the target area, with an additional 2 hours spent locating the camouflaged Takao. Despite the constant threat of detection by Japanese,  XE3 successfully reached the Takao, deploying limpet mines and dropping two side charges. The withdrawal was executed flawlessly, and XE3 safely returned to HMS Stygian, its towing submarine.Meanwhile, XE1 encountered delays caused by Japanese patrol craft. Realizing that reaching Myōkō before the explosives laid by XE3 detonated was impossible, the captain made the strategic decision to target the already attacked Takao. Like XE3, XE1 successfully returned to its towing submarine, HMS Spark. The impact of the attack was profound, the Takao, already in a damaged state, sustained severe damage and was rendered unfit for further use. For their extraordinary bravery and skill, the commanders and crews of both XE1 and XE3 were honored with prestigious awards. Lieutenant Ian Edward Fraser RNR and Leading Seaman James Joseph Magennis of XE3 were awarded the Victoria Cross (VC), the highest military decoration for valor.Sub-Lieutenant William James Lanyon Smith, RNZNVR, received the Distinguished Service Order (DSO) for his role in commanding XE3. Engine Room Artificer Third Class Charles Alfred Reed, who operated the vessel's controls, was recognized with the Conspicuous Gallantry Medal (CGM).In recognition of their contributions, Lieutenant John Elliott Smart RNVR and Sub-Lieutenant Harold Edwin Harper, RNVR, commanding officer and crew of XE1 respectively, were awarded the DSO and the Distinguished Service Cross (DSC).Additionally, ERA Fourth Class Henry James Fishleigh, Leading Seaman Walter Henry Arthur Pomeroy, ERA Fourth Class Albert Nairn, Acting Leading Stoker Jack Gordan Robinson, and Able Seaman Ernest Raymond Dee were all honored for their roles in bringing the midget submarines to the point of attack, receiving various commendations and mentions in dispatches. LegacyThe X-Craft missions during World War II may have been overshadowed by larger naval engagements, but their impact was profound. These small submarines played a vital role in disrupting enemy operations and weakening Axis forces. The impact on the outcome of the Second World War is often underestimated, yet should not be dismissed, these diminutive submarines played a crucial role in neutralizing some of the most formidable naval threats of the era, demonstrating the effectiveness of unconventional warfare tactics in an increasingly complex battlefield environment. Moreover, the legacy of the X-Craft extends far beyond their wartime exploits. The technological innovations pioneered in the development of these vessels laid the groundwork for future advancements in submarine design and underwater warfare. The lessons learned from their operations continue to form military strategy and tactics to this day, serving as a testament to the enduring legacy of innovation and ingenuity in times of conflict. Moreover, their daring exploits served as an inspiration for today’s generation of naval special forces. Therefore, it should be clear that the X-Craft miniature submarines represent a remarkable chapter in the history naval warfare. From their humble origins to Second World War experimental prototypes and their pivotal role in some of the most daring missions of the Second World War, these small but mighty vessels exemplify the courage, tenacity, and ingenuity of the men who manned them. Their story serves as a powerful reminder of the indomitable spirit of those who dare to defy the odds in the pursuit of victory. Enjoy that piece? If so, join us for free by clicking here.

Crock Pot Beef Stroganoff For Two

Tender stew meat cooked in a creamy, flavorful sauce comes together with perfectly cooked egg noodles to form this easy Crock Pot Beef Stroganoff for Two! A FILLING COMFORT FOOD DINNER FOR TWO If you haven’t been around to see my dinner for two series, welcome to the perfect sized set of dinner recipes that are great for two people to enjoy! I’ve had a lot of fun with these recipes. It’s not always easy to scale down recipes for two people but I’ve tried to make it as easy as possible and I think these recipes have come out fantastic without losing any flavor. This recipe will make two generous portions, or if you aren’t big eaters, you will have a little leftover. This Crock Pot Beef Stroganoff for Two has become one of our new favorites. The meat comes out buttery soft and you can’t beat that cream sauce! FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:  Is this Beef Stroganoff super salty? We did not find it salty but I know that is very subjective to taste. However, this is an easy recipe to use no sodium or low sodium ingredients, especially if you’re sensitive to salt or need to cut down on sodium for your diet. What else can I add to this recipe? Adding mushrooms would be an easy, no brainer option to toss in. It would work well with the cream of mushroom soup and the flavors would already sync nicely. I don’t like dijon mustard, can you taste it in this? Nope. You won’t specifically taste the dijon, it just adds a nice depth of flavor. If you don’t have dijon, just skip it. What else could I serve this on besides egg noodles? If you’re out of egg noodles, try pasta like fettuccini, or linguini. You could also use a bed of white rice, brown rice, other rice, mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes. Anything that holds the gravy and meat well. Do I have to use the cream of mushroom soup? No. If cream of mushroom soup isn’t something you like the taste of, you could use other cream soup flavors (like cream of chicken or cream of potato). I do also have a Homemade Cream of Mushroom soup recipe linked below in the ingredient section if you prefer to make this fully from scratch. Could I use ground beef? Yes, you will need to brown and crumble it before adding to the crock pot though. Cook the onions and garlic with it. You won’t need to cook it as long since the meat will already be cooked. Maybe only an hour or two at the most and continue with the rest of the directions. How should I store leftovers? If you have leftovers, transfer them to an airtight container to keep in the fridge for up to 3 days. Can I freeze this? I don’t recommend trying to freeze this. How can I reheat leftovers? You can use the microwave or the skillet on the stove to reheat leftovers. Just be careful, since the meat is already very tender, if you heat it up too much, the meat will get tough. INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE) stew meat– stew meat can be swapped for cooked and crumbled ground beef (see above Frequently Asked Questions section). Additionally, you could use a chuck roast or a sirloin roast. Just be sure to cut it into bite sized pieces so it’s easy for everyone to eat. small onion cloves garlic – use fresh garlic if possible. It really does add so much more flavor than the jarred stuff. beef broth -as I stated above, please use low or no sodium options if you are concerned about sodium. Worcestershire sauce Dijon mustard – if you don’t have or don’t want to buy Dijon mustard, just skip it. You don’t taste the mustard as a separate ingredient but regular yellow mustard would be too strong and vinegary so I wouldn’t use that to substitute. sour cream – you could use plain Greek yogurt. Other than that, I don’t have a substitute for those who don’t like sour cream. I suppose you could just skip it. cream of mushroom soup – if you’d like to make your own, I have a homemade Cream of Mushroom Soup recipe just for you. You only need half a can of it, so the rest of the homemade soup, or the rest of the can, can be transferred to an airtight container to keep in the refrigerator and use in something else within 3-4 days. cornstarch and water – when you mix these together, it’s called a “slurry” – this works to thicken up the sauce a bit. You want cornstarch, not flour. HOW TO MAKE CROCK POT BEEF STROGANOFF FOR TWO Season the stew meat with salt and pepper. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon of oil. Sear the meat in batches, you may need to add more oil as you go. Place the seared meat into the body of a 4-6quart slow cooker. Turn down the heat to medium-low add the onions and cook until translucent, stirring often, about 8 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, 30 seconds. Deglaze the skillet with ½ cup of the beef broth. Pour everything over the meat in the slow cooker. Add the remaining broth along with the Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce to the slow cooker, stirring it in. Cover and place on low for 7-8 hours or high 3-4 hours, until the beef is tender. Stir in the sour cream and mushroom soup. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water, stir it into the slow cooker, cover and place on high. Continue to cook, stirring every 10 minutes, until thickened, about 30 minutes. Serve immediately over egg noodles. Course Dinner, Main CourseCuisine American Prep Time 5 minutes minutesCook Time 8 hours hours 40 minutes minutesTotal Time 8 hours hours 45 minutes minutes Servings 2 servings Calories 679kcal Author Brandie @ The Country Cook Ingredients1 pound stew meat½ teaspoon salt¼ teaspoon pepper1 – 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil1 small onion, thinly sliced2 cloves garlic, minced1 ½ cups beef broth, divided use2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce1 Tablespoon dijon mustard¾ cup sour cream5 ounces canned cream of mushroom soup (1/2 a can)2 Tablespoons cornstarch2 Tablespoons watercooked egg noodles (for serving – we like the No Yolks noodles) InstructionsSeason 1 pound stew meat with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 – 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil. Get it nice and hot before adding the meat. Sear the meat in batches, you may need to add more oil as you go. Cook's Note: Searing is just getting a good browning on the meat (not cooking it all the way through). You do not want to steam the meat so that is why you want to work in batches so you don't overcrowd the pan and end up steaming rather than browning the meat. Place the seared meat into the body of a 4-6 quart slow cooker. Back to the skillet, turn down the heat to medium-low and add 1 small onion, thinly sliced and cook until translucent, stirring often, about 8 minutes.Add 2 cloves garlic, minced and cook until fragrant, 30 seconds. Deglaze the skillet with ½ cup of the beef broth. Pour everything over the meat in the slow cooker. Cook's Note: Deglazing just means you will take a spatula and gently scrape up any brown bits off the bottom of the skillet (there's a lot of flavor in those bits). The beef broth will help with that. If you are using a nonstick pan, don't use a metal spatula to do this as it will scratch it, use wood or silicone. Add the remaining 1 cup beef broth, 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce and 1 Tablespoon dijon mustard to the slow cooker, stirring it in. Cover and place on low for 7-8 hours or high 3-4 hours, until the beef is tender. Then stir in 3/4 cup sour cream and 5 ounces canned cream of mushroom soup. In a small bowl, whisk together 2 Tablespoons cornstarch and 2 Tablespoons water then stir it into the slow cooker. Cover and put on the high setting. Continue to cook, stirring about every 10 minutes, until thickened (about 30 minutes.) Serve immediately over cooked egg noodles.
