Some know her as D.J. Tanner from “Full House‚” others as “the queen of Christmas” from several beloved Hallmark films. “But her real name is Candace Cameron Bure‚” says Allie Beth Stuckey‚ adding that the actress “has been a light in the darkness of the media industry for a very long time” and has made “an incredible impact for the kingdom of God.” On this episode of “Relatable‚” Candace joins Allie to “share all kinds of wisdom and insight and even some fun stories and facts about herself and her life.” Despite being an outspoken Christian‚ Bure “[wasn’t] raised in a Christian home” due to the fact that her father “didn’t want religion brought into the home.” However‚ her mother “was a believer‚” and when a marital crisis struck their family‚ help came in the form of church. “We started going to church for the first time‚ and I was sitting in the church and heard a sermon one day‚ and I really didn't know what it all meant. I just heard if you want Jesus in your heart to be the Lord and Savior over your life‚ then say this prayer and ask Him into your heart. And so at 12 years old‚ I did that‚ and that's when I became a Christian‚” Candace tells Allie‚ adding that it wasn’t until her mid-20s after having her first baby that she “understood the gospel message for the first time” and began having “a relationship with God.” However‚ long before she was introduced to Jesus‚ Candace was already deep into her acting career‚ which launched when she was just 5 years old. Filming “Full House” took up the majority of her time until the series ended in 1995 when she was 18 years old. Then‚ a new chapter of her life began that involved her marriage to professional hockey player Valeri Bure‚ three children by the age of 25‚ and the dawn of a new acting career after a 10-year hiatus. Prosecutor insults cops after she allegedly drives drunk to suspected crime scene: 'Elementary school level'

A prosecutor in Vermont seems to have burned several bridges with law enforcement recently. Not only was she arrested for showing up to a suspected crime scene investigation while allegedly under the influence of alcohol‚ but she then later lashed out cops‚ insulting their intelligence and claiming she "no longer [felt] safe" around them.The trouble all started on the evening of January 25 when Eva Vekos‚ the state's attorney for Addison County‚ arrived at the scene of an investigation into a death considered to be suspicious. Vekos‚ 54‚ used her personal vehicle to drive to the scene in Bridport‚ located on the western border of the state along the shores of Lake Champlain.She was not there long before officers began to suspect she had been drinking. Multiple officers reported that she smelled strongly of "intoxicants‚" even though she repeatedly covered her face with a thick scarf in an attempt to conceal the odor‚ and that she was "slurring" some of her words. They asked her on several occasions to take a field sobriety test‚ but she declined each time‚ admitting only to consuming one gin and tonic about an hour earlier."[C]an’t you just have a friend come and get me?" she asked one of the officers on the scene‚ according to charging documents.Her alleged request was refused‚ and she was arrested and charged with one count of driving under the influence — refusal of sobriety test. Even at the state police barracks in New Haven‚ she continued to be uncooperative‚ refusing to allow officers to take her fingerprints or a booking photo — though she did ask that they photograph her wrists‚ which had recently been placed in handcuffs.While at the barracks‚ she also reportedly suggested that state troopers use their "discretion" and not follow through with the charge. She likewise warned one trooper that "this was going to damage the relationship" that her office "has worked hard to build with law enforcement‚" he claimed in the affidavit.Even after she was released and perhaps sobered up‚ Vekos continued to rail against local law enforcement. In an email exchange less than a week after her arrest‚ she wrote that she planned to meet with police officials virtually only for the time being. "[B]ecause I no longer feel safe around law enforcement I will join the next Chiefs’ meeting by video‚" she wrote‚ according to VT Digger.In the email — which had a grammar mistake‚ as VT Digger noted — she also implied that officers had the intellectual capacity of "elementary school" students and were therefore in desperate need of her "educational trainings" regarding "grammar skills." "Its [sic] too bad‚ I would have loved to teach grammar skills to bring police up to the elementary school level‚ at least‚" she wrote‚ according to the outlet. "I found a really great illustrated book to use. It has pictures of dragons and stuff."Addison County Sheriff Michael Elmore called those remarks "extremely unprofessional and inappropriate." Insulting email from Addison County State's Attorney Eva Vekos prompts complaints from police www.youtube.com This week‚ Vekos pled not guilty to the charge against her and was released on her own recognizance. Judge Thomas A. Zonay then proposed changing the venue of the case from Addison County to Chittenden County‚ and both sides agreed. The state Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting the case to avoid a conflict of interest from Vekos' office‚ which would normally handle the responsibility.Vekos' attorney‚ David Sleigh‚ has argued that it is not "a crime to refuse a reasonable request for an evidentiary breath alcohol test" for those without "a prior DWI conviction." He also later wrote in a court document that none of the officers at the scene "observed her stumbling or otherwise noted indicia of impairment that lead them to proscribe her participation in the crime scene inspection."John Campbell‚ the executive director of the Vermont Department of State’s Attorneys and Sheriffs‚ has confirmed that Vekos has been placed on leave but did not provide more details about her job status. Vekos‚ who was first elected to a four-year term in November 2022‚ faces up to two years in jail and a $750 fine if convicted. Meanwhile‚ the man whose death she was helping investigate was 44-year-old Stephen Nuciolo Sr. He was reportedly found in his home‚ dead from a gunshot wound to the head. Mayor Trent Staggs‚ one of several candidates vying for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate seat in Utah soon to be vacated by retiring Sen. Mitt Romney‚ has called on his primary opponents to promise new Senate Republican leadership if they're elected.This week‚ Staggs will email his primary rivals — Rep. John Curtis‚ Jeremy Friedbaum‚ Brent Hatch‚ Brian Jenkins‚ Carolyn Phippen‚ Josh Randall‚ Chandler Tanner‚ Jason Walton‚ and Clark White — inviting them to sign his pledge not to vote for longtime Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)‚ currently serving a seventh term‚ to be the Republican Senate leader in 2025 and beyond. The pledge suggests that McConnell has abdicated his legislative responsibilities regarding "constitutionally mandated federalism" and "enacting conservative policy.""We believe it is time to elect America First leadership who are committed to limiting the power of the federal government‚" the pledge reads. Any candidate who signs it therefore promises to support "new leadership" and not to back McConnell for "Senate majority or minority leader." Utah deserves a Senator willing to push back on the establishment and get things done‚" Staggs said in a statement given to Blaze News. "I am asking the entire field of candidates in Utah to come together and commit to not support McConnell‚ but rather support America first leadership that believes in the principles of federalism. We owe it to the voters to let them know where we stand."Whether any of his primary opponents will agree to it‚ though‚ is yet uncertain. Blaze News reached out to each of the candidates whose name appears on the pledge‚ asking them whether they intend to support Sen. McConnell as leader if they are elected in November. Three candidates issued a statement in time for publication‚ and their statements are included below in full. Clark White wrote: "I believe anyone who's been in longer than 12 years in politics needs to be removed. They are not in there for the American people. For far too long we have been swindled and stolen from."Josh Randall told Blaze News:I will not vote for Mitch McConnell as Senate Republican leader. In 39 years of his time in the Senate I don't believe he has done enough to change the established culture of spending that has mired us in $34 trillion of debt. He has been too much a part of that establishment. I hope to see many new Senators with a more similar fiscal mindset to Mike Lee or Rand Paul replacing McConnell and some of the other more tenured Senators. I'm also concerned about his health and the repeated "zoning out" episodes that he has been dealing with. I think he has helped accomplish some good things during his time in the Senate‚ i.e. I'm grateful Neil Gorsuch is on the Supreme Court and not Merrick Garland. But I hope to see a new generation Senator replace Mitch McConnell in the near future. There is no shame in resigning at age 81 after 39 years of service.Jason Walton said: "I will only vote for new‚ constitutionalist Senate leadership. Assaults against New York Police Department officers have reached unprecedented levels‚ fueled by anti-cop rhetoric and woke policies that have emboldened criminals‚ experts told the New York Post Sunday.Within the first nine months of 2023‚ 4‚077 police officers in New York City were attacked and injured by suspects‚ the news outlet reported. While stats for the fourth quarter of 2023 have not yet been released‚ the NYPD data shows that assaults against officers are on pace to reach a record-breaking 5‚436. The number of cops injured by suspects has been on an upward trend for years. In 2022‚ 4‚724 officers were hurt‚ a 20% increase from 2021.Police Benevolent Association president Patrick Hendry told the Post that the trend has become “a full-blown epidemic.”“Well over 5‚000 cops were attacked and injured last year‚” Hendry stated. “The vicious attacks on police officers we’ve seen recently didn’t come out of nowhere. This dangerous environment has been building for years. ... It’s not going to get better until those who attack police officers are consistently prosecuted and kept in jail. And that won’t happen unless New Yorkers keep speaking up to demand an end to the chaos.”The number of substantial or serious injuries suffered by cops has also trended upward over the last few years‚ according to the NYPD’s "Threat‚ Resistance and Injury" data.In the first nine months of 2023‚ 261 cops suffered substantial or serious injury as a result of being attacked by a suspect‚ which is on pace to reach 348‚ a 10% increase from the previous year.A 28-year-old female officer from the Upper West Side told the Post‚ “Everyone wants to fight.” The cop said she was assaulted while attempting to handcuff a shoplifting suspect. According to the female officer‚ who sprained her hand in the incident‚ the suspect was released from jail the same day.A 40-year-old cop noted‚ “There’s no respect for the law.”“Now‚ you have to be careful what you do. They’ll come after you‚” the officer added‚ referring to anti-cop sentiments that have prompted civilian complaints and discipline.NYPD Lt. John Macari stated that the department’s officers have been “emasculated.”“Now we have cops on the street who are afraid to act. ... They’re more afraid of the professional and legal ramifications of taking police action than the fear for their own lives‚” he stated.Sergeants Benevolent Association president Vincent Vallelong blamed the uptick in violence against officers on criminals becoming more emboldened by the city’s soft-on-crime policies that fail to impose consequences.Democrat-backed policies‚ including cashless bail and the Raise the Age law‚ have made it more difficult for NYPD officers to enforce the law and keep the community safe.In December‚ the city council pushed through the “How Many Stops Act‚” which will force cops to record nearly every encounter with the public. New York City Democratic Mayor Eric Adams attempted to veto the bill last month‚ claiming it would decrease police response times and add millions of dollars in overtime. Tucker Carlson has not just come under fire for his recent interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin but for his praise of Moscow at the recent World Government Summit. “What was radicalizing‚ very shocking‚ very disturbing for me was the city of Moscow‚” Carlson told the audience‚ adding‚ “It was so much nicer than any city in my country.” “It is so much cleaner‚ and safer‚ and prettier‚ aesthetically — it’s architecture‚ it’s food‚ it’s service — than any city in the United States‚” Carlson continued. Critics are calling Carlson “anti-American” for his comments‚ but Dave Rubin believes that couldn’t be farther from the truth. “There are other places on this planet that are not having the problems that we are having‚” Dave Rubin says‚ adding‚ “and many of our problems seem to be self-inflicted.” Those problems‚ Rubin notes‚ are easily identifiable. “We can also point out the reasons that our cities have crumbled: Democrat leadership‚ progressive policies‚ the World Economic Forum‚ George Soros‚ not actually upholding laws‚ allowing criminals to ransack streets and stores and things of that nature‚” he says. Carlson’s comments aren’t anti-American‚ they are exactly the opposite of that. Rather‚ they’re an observation of where America is failing and where it can be better. Battlefield seems pretty removed from its glory days as one of the best online FPS series right now. Recent entries like Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield 5‚ though still a good enough time in their own right‚ failed to match the highs of what came before. Fortunately‚ those older entries still exist‚ are cheaper to pick up than ever before‚ and‚ in the case of 2011's Battlefield 3‚ feature a fantastic single-player campaign well worth revisiting or playing for the first time.
