Along the murky coast of the Baltic Sea‚ archaeologists have found the submerged ruins of a megastructure that was built over 10‚000 years ago. Measuring almost 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) in length‚ the immense structure was likely created by hungry Stone Age hunters with a taste for reindeer.If workings are correct‚ it would make the site one of the oldest human-made hunting structures on Earth‚ plus one of the largest known Stone Age structures in Europe.Known as the Blinkerwall‚ the structure was recently discovered in the Bay of Mecklenburg along Germany’s northern coast by a team from Kiel University‚ Rostock University‚ and the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research. They used a combination of ships and submarine drones to survey the area‚ collecting sonar data on the shape and size of the long-lost structure.Located on the shore at a depth of 21 meters (68 feet)‚ the Blinkerwall is made of at least 1‚673 individual stones‚ most of which are shorter than 1 meter (3 feet)‚ placed side by side over a distance of 971 meters (3‚185 feet). The sheer number of rocks‚ as well as their organized placement‚ told the researchers that the formation was not crafted by natural processes. While the Blinkerwall has since been lost to the sea‚ the site was on dry land around 10‚000 years following the end of the last Ice Age. However‚ it was ultimately flooded due to sea level rise sometime between 8‚600 to 8‚000 years ago. This was a time when much of Northern Europe was swamped by rising seas. Around 8‚200 years ago‚ the landmass that connected Britain to mainland Europe – known as Doggerland – was flooded with water due to a tsunami caused by a submarine landslide. The researchers explain that the “most plausible functional interpretation” for the Blinkerwall is that it was used as a gigantic structure to aid the hunting of large ungulates‚ primarily the reindeer that roamed the region around this time. The wall's topographic orientation suggests it would have crossed paths with the reindeer’s biannual migration routes across the North German Plain. By channeling the herds of wandering beasts into an enclosed dead-end‚ they would be easy pickings for Neolithic hunter-gatherers who were quickly learning to master the art of reindeer hunting. Similar hunting structures have been found elsewhere in the world. Beneath Lake Huron‚ one of the five Great Lakes of North America‚ you can find a 9‚000-year-old hunting structure that led caribou into a cul-de-sac formed by the natural cobble pavement. At 10‚000 years old‚ the Blinkerwall is a whole millennia older and likely represents one of the oldest human-made hunting structures in the world. On top of that‚ there are barely any other similar structures associated with Stone Age Europe‚ making the recent discovery all the more exceptional.The new study is published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

The Biden administration and leftist billionaire George Soros are tied at the hip‚ working in cahoots to undermine Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.  The U.S. Department of State entrusted Soros-funded Ökotárs Foundation and media watchdog Mérték Media Monitor to hand over $320‚000 in taxpayer dollars to 15 media outlets critical of the pro-freedom Hungarian government‚ according to NGO and government documents. European Parliament elections take place from June 6 to June 9. Similarly‚ Hungary will hold local elections on June 9. Hungary-based political analyst András László and Rod Dreher spread the news in Jan. 27 posts on X.  László wrote that “left-wing NGOs announce which Hungarian media outlets will receive direct financing from the US Embassy. More than a DOZEN‚ a total of 15 media will receive US taxpayer money.” Echoing László‚ Dreher reacted to the news: “US taxpayers are funding anti government media in Hungary‚ a NATO ally.” The Biden administration contracted Ökotárs and Mérték to identify and evaluate which Hungarian media outlets would receive the taxpayer-funded grants‚ a State Department document revealed. MRC Business verified the contract through information published by grants.gov‚ the online database of federal grants‚ as well as documents provided by Ökotárs and Mérték.  The disturbing bottom line is this: Foreigners are deciding what foreign entities will get American tax dollars. Under President Joe Biden‚ we have farmed out our foreign policy to foreigners.  A translation provided by the Ökotárs Foundation backs László’s assertions of U.S. Embassy involvement:  Following the approval of the supporting Embassy of the United States of America in Budapest‚ a decision was made regarding the applications received in the first call for applications operated by the Mért Media Analysis Workshop and the Ökotárs Foundation. A total of 32 applications were received by the deadline of November 15‚ 2023‚ of which 6 did not pass the formal inspection. Out of the 26 valid applications‚ the following 15 will now receive support‚ totaling HUF 115‚608‚880.  The release then listed the media outlets that would receive funding before making it clear that this was only the “first round” of applications and encouraged media outlets to apply for the next round on Feb. 29.  If this were not enough‚ a translation provided by the Mérték Media website openly admits where the funding comes from: “The Mérték Media Analysis Workshop and the Ökotárs Foundation (hereafter: Mérték and Ökotárs) are announcing a tender using the resources of the United States Embassy in Budapest to support Hungarian national and local independent media.” In 2023‚ a U.S. government grant was posted titled “U.S. Ambassador's Independent Media Support (AIMS) Fund.” This grant proposed to “provide support to Hungarian independent media outlets and civil society organizations actively advancing media freedom in Hungary.” Additionally‚ it searched for an “implementing partner [who] will manage funds that will be disbursed to sub-recipients.” Disturbingly‚ this grant had a ceiling of $500‚000.  Soros has funded Both Ökotárs and Mérték. Between 2017 and 2022‚ Soros gave $306‚147 to the Ökotárs Foundation and $88‚113 to Mérték Media Monitor. According to descriptions provided by the Open Society Foundation‚ all three donations to Mérték Media Monitor aligned with the current goals of the State Department.  MRC Vice President Dan Schneider ripped the State Department for this contentious partnership: “It is wrong for U.S. government employees to farm out how our tax dollars are spent.  It is outrageous that a lazy diplomat in our embassy relied on the Soros crew to figure out how to spend our taxpayer dollars.”  At least five of the media outlets that were awarded grant funding were funded by Soros. Soros has funded Nyugat Media for years‚ giving them $259‚142 in five donations from 2017-2020. “Let’s make democracy together‚” a $25‚000 donation claimed in its description. ” A second donation referred to Nyugat Media as “the largest‚ independent media site in the Hungarian countryside.” Soros gave $129‚962 to the Tilos Cultural Foundation from 2016 to 2022‚ four grants in total. Two of the grants reference support for “independent community media in Hungary” and “alternative values.”  Soros has also given $197‚478 to grant-recipient Atlatszo.hu Kozhasznu Nonprofit Kft. Two out of the four Soros grants were earmarked for “independent media‚” while another donation aided collaboration with a different State Department beneficiary Magyar Hang. Soros gave $15‚000 to grant-recipient Debreciner in 2019‚ again for “independent” media.  The leftist billionaire also gave $15‚000 to the media outlet Szabad Pecs in 2020. The description given beside the donation on the Open Society Foundation website aligns closely with the purported goals of the State Department initiative: “To strengthen the sustainability of Szabad Pecs‚ one of the last remaining‚ independent‚ local news portal in Hungary and thereby to strengthen independent journalism and access to information in the Hungarian countryside.” This atrocious initiative is unfortunately characteristic of the Biden administration’s behavior in Hungary. The U.S. Ambassador to Hungary Dave Pressman attends and even hosts LGBT events at which he attacks Orban and members of his political party Fidesz. The ambassador and the embassy he oversees have an antagonistic relationship with the U.S. ally they are supposed to work with.  Turns out that the State Department pours money into the coffers of anti-Orban media‚ while the American ambassador complains about “state media churning out propaganda.”

On Monday‚ word spread like wildfire that the alleged shooter of the Houston megachurch belonging to Joel Olsteen was a pro-Palestinian terrorist who had the message “Free Palestine” written on the rifle. It was also discovered that the shooter was transgendered. For hours‚ far-left MSNBC refused to update their on-air reporting to inform viewers of the likely motive behind the attack. But while CNN News Central had reported the “Free Palestine” message‚ they danced about the shooter’s transgenderism. “New this morning‚ sources are telling us the woman who shot up a megachurch in Houston Sunday‚ used an AR-15 with the words ‘Free Palestine’ on it‚” co-host Sara Sidner announced. Co-host John Berman spoke with CNN chief law enforcement analyst John Miller‚ who was the one who broke the story for the network. Miller explained that the “Free Palestine” message was a strong “indicator” of the shooter’s motive given that messages on firearms have been used in different attacks for different reasons in the past: BERMAN: What more are you learning about a possible motive here? MILLER: Well‚ there's an indicator which is on the rifle‚ the words “Free Palestine” were written. We have seen writing on the rifle before in some of these other incidents. So‚ there is an indicator that this is someone who studied prior shootings. We saw it in the Buffalo shooting in the supermarket; we saw it in the New Zealand shooting in the mosque where the rifle kind of becomes the communique.     Miller danced around the evidence that the shooter was also transgender. He admitted that authorities knew the shooter was a “37-year-old woman” whose “identity may have crossed with other identities at different times.” “So‚ they're trying to sort through what is the back story here‚ and is there a political motive which could make this categorized as a case of terrorism‚” he added. At the mention of a motive that involved terrorism‚ Berman wanted Miller to drill down further: “Talk to us more about that because that is where it goes to a different level. ‘Free Palestine’ written on the gun. When she walked into the church‚ she poured some kind of liquid on the floor which they said was deemed to be nonhazardous. So‚ there's a lot going on in the background here trying to figure out who she was‚ what her story is‚ and what exactly she was trying to do. Which was -- was it to start a fire? Was it to do something else? A lot of unanswered questions‚ but an interesting indicator. BERMAN: All right. We know you're on it. Just like ABC must tout Disney products‚ CBS Mornings on Monday hailed the return of Jon Stewart as the Maddow-style Monday-only host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central. Gayle King noted both networks are part of Paramount Global‚ and co-host Tony Dokoupil kissed Stewart’s ring: “You`re now located atop the Paramount mountain‚ sir.” King gushed: “I`m wondering if you`ve missed us as much as we`ve missed you -- somebody writes about you‚ about Jon Stewart. "Jon Stewart was a voice of reason in my generation. It`s great to see him returning. There has been no better host of The Daily Show since he left." Stewart played bashful at that Trevor Noah-dissing. King asked “What went into your thought process about‚ "I want to come back‚ and I only want to come back one night a week for now"? He referred to his canceled show on Apple TV. “I very much wanted to have some kind of place to unload thoughts as we get into this election season‚ election season and I thought I was going to do it over at‚ they call it Apple TV Plus…they decided that they didn`t‚ they felt that they didn`t want me to say things that might get me in trouble.”  When they asked if he expected to have influence‚ Stewart played modest and suggested TV hosts don’t have the influence that full-time activists do. “I liken television to like‚ if you can occasionally provide air support to those on the ground who are actually doing the work. And so I don`t‚ I don`t view it as I really want to have an influence on this issue‚ election‚ things like that. It`s what we do.” After Stewart criticized the notion that young viewers need to be pandered to like their brains work differently‚ King asked: KING: But Jon‚ you do have a unique ability to call out both sides when you see that they may be fluid with the truth is how I'm trying to say. President Joe Biden cautioned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Sunday against executing a military operation in the Gazan city of Rafah. Hours later‚ Israel did so anyway‚ killing a handful of Hamas terrorists. While Biden's national security spokesman claimed last week that such an operation would "be a disaster‚" Israeli commandos managed to successfully rescue two hostages: Fernando Simon Marmon‚ 61‚ and Louis Har‚ 70‚ both of whom were kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak during the Oct. 7 massacre. — (@) According to Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari‚ spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces‚ Israeli commandos carried out the hostage rescue mission in Rafah early Monday morning. "The hostages ... were held captive in harsh conditions‚" said Hagari. "They were intentionally held in the middle of a civilian neighborhood‚ inside a civilian building to try and prevent us from rescuing them. But we did." The Times of Israel reported that the Yamam counterterrorism unit executed the mission in concert with the Shin Bet security agency and the IDF around 1 a.m. in Rafah. The commandos battled their way to the second floor of an apartment building deep inside Rafah where the hostages were being held‚ then breached with explosives nearly an hour later. Hagari noted that after blowing away three terrorists at the scene‚ the commandos "hugged and protected Louis and Fernando with their bodies." "The troops pulled Louis and Fernando out of the apartment and rescued them under fire‚ until they reached the safe zone‚" continued Hagari. As the rescue operation unfolded‚ Hamas terrorists in the area reportedly moved in on the rescuers. The Israeli Air Force apparently made quick work of them with multiple airstrikes on adjacent buildings. Extra to air support‚ the rescuers had the backing of the Israeli Navy's Shayetet 13 command unit and the 7th Armored Brigade while making their withdrawal. Hagari indicated that "many terrorists were eliminated tonight in this action." The Guardian‚ a leftist publication out of Britain often critical of Israel's self-defense‚ claimed that mosques and several homes were targeted by Israeli airstrikes‚ tanks‚ and ships. Reuters reported that 67 Palestinians were killed in the operation. After undergoing medical examinations‚ Marmon and Har‚ Argentine-Israelis‚ were reunited with their families. Hagari stressed that the mission underscored the importance and moral impetus of such operations‚ especially when "134 men‚ women‚ children and elderly are still being held hostage in Gaza." Netanyahu‚ whom Biden has allegedly called an "a**hole" thrice in recent instances‚ celebrated the win Monday‚ stating‚ "This is a day of joy mixed with sadness: Joy over the release of our hostages and sadness over our fallen soldiers. However‚ I would like to tell you that the freeing of Louis and Fernando was one of the most successful rescue operations in the history of Israel." Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus‚ the head of the World Health Organization‚ joined other Israel critics in concern-mongering about the successful operation‚ stating‚ "I am especially concerned by the recent attacks on Rafah where the majority of Gaza's population has fled the destruction." The Israeli prime minister welcomed the hostages home and stressed that "only continued military pressure‚ until total victory‚ will bring about the release of all of our hostages. We will not miss any opportunity to bring them home." On Thursday‚ National Security Council spokesman John Kirby claimed that an Israeli operation in Rafah "would be a disaster for those people‚ and we would not support it‚" reported the Washington Post. A White House readout of Biden's Sunday call with Netanyahu indicates that the geriatric Democrat "reaffirmed his view that a military operation in Rafah should not proceed without a credible and executable plan for ensuring the safety of and support for the more than one million people sheltering there." The Maryland Judiciary launched a grant program in January to fund diversity‚ equity‚ and inclusion positions in the state court system‚ the Daily Caller News Foundation reported.The "DEI Grant" aims to "provide fair‚ efficient‚ and effective justice for all" by funding three full-year DEI positions for three selected circuit courts. "Access to Justice will award three invitational demonstration grants to circuit courts for Diversity‚ Equity‚ and Inclusion Coordinator positions to establish a community advisory officer in each jurisdiction to serve as the community liaison/point of contact for the community and developing advisory boards in each jurisdiction with rotating membership to ensure a diversity of voices‚" the grant program stated.The coordinators are responsible for creating a "welcoming" environment‚ "provid[ing] advice and guidance on DEI best practices and trends‚" and incorporating DEI initiatives in the court's customer service functions. The positions will also "assist with the development of an advisory board" and "identify‚ create‚ and implement plans to promote diversity within court settings." Additionally‚ the grant will fund DEI-related programs and events within the court system for staff and the community.The grants are provided through the Maryland Judiciary's Administrative Office of the Courts. Applications for the grant program are due March 15‚ and the selected courts will be announced in June 2025.The court system recently posted a job opening on LinkedIn for a diversity‚ equity‚ inclusion‚ and belonging coordinator with a salary of $89‚964."The DEIB Coordinator will build sustainable approaches to strengthen diversity in AOC workplaces and programs‚ while ensuring inclusive and equitable AOC operations‚" according to the posted job description. A nightmare for Todd and Krista Kolstad began on August 23‚ when the parents received a call that their 14-year-old daughter‚ Jennifer‚ had expressed suicidal ideation while at school. Jennifer was taken to the hospital after claiming to have poisoned herself with cleaning fluid‚ but there was no sign of illness. However‚ the hospital consistently mentioned that Jennifer identified as a male and wished to be called Leo. The parents immediately objected‚ telling the hospital staff that it goes against their values‚ morals‚ and religious beliefs. They were told to call a lawyer if they had an issue‚ because they planned on doing whatever the child told them to do. The hospital then recommended she be taken to a hospital out of state‚ where parental consent was not needed for gender-affirming medical procedures. “Day one at the hospital‚ they immediately had a nurse talking about getting top surgery in front of our daughter. They immediately started calling her a boy‚ immediately‚” Todd tells Glenn Beck. When the parents said no‚ Montana Child and Family Services showed up at their home to serve them with papers to take Jennifer out of their care. Now‚ Todd and Krista have accused the state of medically kidnapping their daughter because they refused to support her transgender identity. However‚ the state's Republican governor alleged that the decision had nothing to do with the transgender debate. “They’ve asked us to go to marriage counseling to accept our daughter’s transgenderism‚” Krista tells Glenn. “Wow‚” Glenn says‚ in total shock. The Hill views the idea that Michelle Obama may run for the presidency in place of a cognitively impaired Joe Biden as “pure lunacy.” Or so opines the website’s preferred authority on elections‚ Karl Rove‚ who dismisses the prospect as laughably wide of the mark. To make sure no one disagrees with this take‚ The Hill ascribes any unwelcome speculation about the former first lady running for president to the “irresponsible” right‚ namely supposed wingnut Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.). For the Democratic left‚ which may have doubts about Joe Biden being on its side or mentally sound‚ Michelle Obama would be a godsend. If Greene issued a press release stating the sun rises in the east‚ would The Hill rush out to find experts ready to contradict her? One wonders. I personally appreciate the gentlewoman from Georgia for saying what too many Republicans are too cowed to express. As for Michelle Obama’s candidacy‚ I couldn’t imagine a political thought that seems more reasonable at a time when Joe Biden is becoming less and less able to discharge his duties or even communicate coherently. It’s a sure bet that Democratic Party operatives‚ with unstinting assistance from our biased media‚ will pull out all the stops to ensure their party’s nominee wins the presidency. But it might be easier to have a sentient candidate who doesn’t fall off platforms and can finish his sentences — a criterion that clearly excludes the subject of special counsel Robert Hur’s investigation of Joe’s past interactions with classified documents. The only alternative to Kamala Allow me to throw back the question at the sneering writer for The Hill. Why wouldn’t I think that Michelle Obama would be the logical alternative for the Democratic nomination if Biden is forced to leave the race? The Democrats need a black woman if they plan to bypass Vice President Kamala Harris in selecting a nominee. That is essential if they wish to avoid offending black female voters‚ one of the party’s prime constituencies. Moreover‚ unlike Kamala‚ Michelle can give at least the appearance of being articulate‚ while representing the views of the woke left without breaking into a cackle. Also‚ unlike the woman who will now succeed Biden if he is too feeble-minded to continue in office‚ Obama is not burdened with a 35% general approval rating. Michelle appears regularly on top of those Gallup Poll listings of the world’s most admired women. Although one may suspect the ranking has lots to do with our leftist media and entertainment industry’s efforts to burnish Michelle’s reputation‚ for a moment like this one‚ she does resonate with large sections of the population. Obama enjoys far more widespread approval than another black woman‚ Candy Carson‚ Ben Carson’s devout‚ kindly spouse who has spent her life ministering to the poor. Unfortunately‚ from the standpoint of the woke left and Generation Z‚ Mrs. Carson is on the wrong side of social issues: She zealously supports the right to life and has not been noticeably affirmative about the LGBTQ ideology‚ critical race theory‚ or the cult of diversity‚ equity‚ and inclusion. Nearly inevitable With Obama‚ however‚ one doesn’t have to worry. She’ll rage on cue against systemic racism‚ for the marginalized transgendered‚ and for women’s reproductive rights. For the Democratic left‚ which may have doubts about Joe Biden being on its side or mentally sound‚ Michelle Obama as president would be a godsend. At the same time‚ the media and Democratic operatives (to make a distinction without a difference) would work overtime to make Obama look mainstream and centrist. She would become a working mother who was justifiably concerned about the male chauvinism and white privilege that remain rife in today’s America and which may hurt her daughters’ futures. (Although it may be hard to believe this drivel‚ I’m sure the media will make it seem plausible.) For the record‚ I entirely agree with Vivek Ramaswamy on the near-inevitability of the Democrats turning to Michelle Obama to pull them out of a political mess. She’s clearly the go-to person in this situation: the Democratic activist and power player who has the best shot of mobilizing the left while attracting non-conservative female voters. Michelle’s appearances on TV talk programs also seem designed to keep her in public view‚ while allowing her to sprinkle women-conscious sound bites in advance of launching her political career. For those who want to reflect on the radiant life of this media star‚ there is Michelle’s widely distributed work of self-discovery‚ “Becoming.” One can obtain this gem through a flourishing enterprise called “Michelle Obama Books.” Although one may dispute details in Joel Gilbert’s study of Obama’s longtime plan to become president‚ allow me to speak for his main argument. According to Gilbert‚ Michelle’s “I hate politics” disclaimer has long been part of her modus operandi and is an attempt to ensure that‚ by all appearances‚ the “people” draft her for a post she is not actively pursuing. Gilbert shows that Obama has been preparing for this honor for years and enjoys vast media support in her efforts to reach the top politically. Remarkably enough‚ there are still Republican commentators who listen to her spin and‚ even more astonishingly‚ associate with right-wing kooks a willingness to tell us the obvious about her ambitions.
