‘Sinful!’ CNN Hypes Senate Dems Bashing House GOP Over Budget Battle

Amidst the scare of a government shutdown‚ CNN News Central provided its viewers Tuesday morning with only the dramatic “expressions of heartburn” of Senate Democrats rather than the concerns and explanations from Senate Republicans or from the accused House Republicans. One would think that the opinions of the House Republicans would be considered far more crucial information to viewers‚ rather than the unhelpful outcries of disgust from the two Senate Democrats they interviewed. The initial comments of co-host Kate Bolduan suggested that the network was aware of the importance of hearing from the House Republicans‚ however‚ she called for no such interview. Instead‚ Bolduan merely laughed at all the curses that lawmakers have supposedly been muttering to themselves: “And while these top four congressional leaders are meeting with President Biden‚ congressional gridlock has left lawmakers muttering a lot of four-letter words.”     CNN congressional correspondent‚ Lauren Fox provided additional confirmation of such an awareness‚ saying: This isn't really a divide necessarily between Republicans and Democrats. This is kind of a divide between House Republicans and everybody else. You are starting to hear so much frustration from both Republican and Democratic senators as they arrive back to Washington. If this truly was about the decisions‚ or lack thereof‚ of House Republicans‚ where was their interview? Because no such interview was offered to viewers‚ it can be assumed that this short section on the issue was provided more so as an opportunity to ridicule Republicans rather than an attempt to understand the real dilemma that House Republicans are facing. Cuts from interviews with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) depicted nothing short of a grotesque appall at the House Republican’s lethargic decision-making process. What was meant to provide emotional sensitivity to the impending government shutdown instead showed America how invested in the theatre club these two Senate Democrats were: WARREN: What is wrong with these people? This is‚ this is the central thing Congress is supposed to do. [Transition] The Republicans can't seem to get themselves organized just to sign off on the basic work they're supposed to do. This is just ridiculous. MANCHIN: I swear to God‚ it is sinful what's going on‚ the games that are being played right now with the American people and all the people that are depending on the services of the federal government‚ and we can't even get our act together. It's a shame. Further proving the network’s intent to humiliate the House Republicans‚ Bolduan repeated these accusations following the interviews to co-host John Berman with a chuckle: “What is it? Ridiculous‚ sinful‚ can't get their act together…all the ways I describe you‚ John.” Bolduan ended the conversation by quipping about Montana Democratic Senator Jon Tester scolding her earlier in the day when called the situation B.S.‚ making sure to say “B.S.” in a whisper‚ as if all the other accusations against the House Republicans were less controversial.  The transcript is below. Man's 'kill manifesto' outlined plot to shoot males at Virginia church over failed prayer and lack of romance‚ police say

Virginia police say that a man who was arrested at a church with a gun and a knife was plotting a violent attack after being upset that prayer didn't work and he couldn't find a romantic relationship. 35-year-old Rui Jiang of Falls Church was arrested in September at the Park Valley Church in Haymarket after police received a tip about his alleged plot against the church. The tip was made by a woman who had met Jiang from a dating app and went out on a date with him in 2023 but stopped seeing him. She became alarmed after seeing his posts on social media that appeared to express hostility toward the church and Christianity. One allegedly read‚ "Blood will be on your hands." Police questioned her‚ and when they went to the church‚ they found that their security had already spotted him and was escorting him from the building. They said that he was tapping on glass and doing other things that made it look like he was "casing" the church. Police disarmed him of the handgun and ammunition and arrested him at that time. On Tuesday‚ local law enforcement said they were dropping charges against Jiang in order that federal charges could be pursued instead. A 33-page affidavit outlined the case against Jiang‚ who has denied planning to attack the church. He told police that he had a concealed carry permit and was often armed. Police said Jiang had been a member of the church but that he had grown disgruntled after participating in a tithing challenge where he donated $450 to the church. He emailed the church demanding a refund two days before his arrest and received it. When police searched his home‚ they found numerous copies of a one-page note where he claimed to have been a government assassin and apologized to "the families of those men about to be slain." He detailed further his anger against the church in the letter. "Despite my continued sacrifices in the name of duty‚ my quiet donations to churches‚ God's community‚" he allegedly wrote‚ "praying on my knees every morning at 5am for an hour‚ thanking God in Jesus' name‚ despite my faith even in my worst of days‚ nothing has changed‚ my mental health continues to deteriorate. I am not allowed to be in love. To experience love. To experience a romantic relationship." The letter went on to say that he was targeting men in romantic relationships. "I want them to know what it's like to be me — to labor through yearning for that romantic love and never obtaining it‚" he allegedly wrote. Police called it a "kill manifesto." 'Mac's inspiring parting gift to us': Gary Sinise announces death of his 33-year-old son‚ saying his music 'will live on'

Actor Gary Sinise has announced that his son‚ McCanna Anthony "Mac" Sinise‚ passed away on January 5 at age 33 after a lengthy cancer battle.Mac was diagnosed with the rare cancer chordoma in August 2018 and became increasingly disabled over time‚ his father explained in a tribute posted on the Gary Sinise Foundation website. Sinise noted that his son had worked for the Foundation but eventually had to give that work up. The organization's mission is to "serve our nation by honoring our defenders‚ veterans‚ first responders‚ their families‚ and those in need." For example‚ one of the group's initiatives is to "build 100% mortgage-free specially adapted smart homes for our most severely wounded heroes.""With Mac‚ after surgery to remove the initial tumor in September of 2018‚ and another spine procedure in February 2019 to clear what looked like an infection‚ unfortunately a follow up scan in May of 2019 would show that his Chordoma had come back and was spreading. This began a long battle that disabled him more and more as time went on. The cancer fight was getting harder‚ but throughout most of 2019 he was still able to come to the GSF office‚ until a third spine surgery in November of that year‚" Sinise wrote."While in recovery at home‚ he was still eager to contribute to the Foundation and he was excited to launch our Gary Sinise Foundation podcast. He was just getting started‚ completing two interviews‚ the first with our Gary Sinise Foundation video producer Kip Perry‚ and the second with yours truly. In January of 2020‚ the day before he went in for his 4th spine surgery‚ Mac and I sat down together for his GSF podcast interview with me. This would finish his work with Gary Sinise Foundation. That year‚ he knew he had to step away to fight his battle. He would have to focus full-time on recovery and rehab‚ as there would be a fifth spine surgery in June‚ along with radiation and continuing chemotherapy‚" Sinise continued. But despite his physical limitations‚ Mac‚ who had graduated from the USC Thornton School of Music‚ worked on creating music during his cancer battle‚ including by completing "Arctic Circles‚" an unfinished composition that he had started in college. The piece was recorded last year."Now‚ 10 years later‚ I found a way to write music again in my hospital bed. In addition to getting back in touch with a producer friend from college‚ Oliver Schnee‚ I recovered my old piece and I decided to go for it!" part of the description section of the YouTube video for the piece reads on the Mac Sinise YouTube channel. "Time is precious and I want to take advantage of the times that I feel strong. The result has been incredible collaborations with members of the Lt Dan Band and my buddy Oliver Schnee to finally finish writing and recording 'Arctic Circles'." "His music videos can be seen in their entirety on Mac Sinise YouTube. Included with the video of 'Arctic Circles' is a special text message from Mac that I found on his phone after his death. He intended to post it as he was so happy to share this piece of music with you all‚" Gary Sinise wrote. "The album‚ Mac Sinise: Resurrection and Revival‚ will be finished and available soon.""He gave his family and friends so much during his 33 years‚ and he accomplished great things in those final months. With a glorious teaming of two old pals from college‚ his vision for this beautiful music was realized‚" Gary Sinise wrote. "Mac's inspiring parting gift to us. Thank you‚ Mac. You did it. Resurrection &; Revival will live on. And so will you. In our hearts forever." Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. FBI gets absolutely torched online over image of white women on report about retail theft rings

A social media post from the FBI was roundly mocked and ridiculed online after it added an image of white women to a report about retail theft rings in the U.S. "Higher prices‚ dangerous products‚ and closing businesses. These are just some of the impacts Organized Retail Theft has on everyday Americans‚" read the post. — (@) One of the women in the image appears to be putting a purse in her coat. The article outlines different kinds of retail theft operations and the effort the FBI is making to partner with local law enforcement agencies to thwart them and arrest the suspects involved. Criticism of the post on social media focused on the race of the two women in the image. "Yes folks‚ our FBI would like you to know that there is an epidemic of rich‚ young‚ attractive white women ransacking our retail outlets… How are they getting away with this lawlessness! This MUST be stopped!" responded John Zeigler. "This picture is so conspicuously inaccurate you have to just marvel at our federal government humiliating itself just to avoid offending Democrats‚" replied Joe Gabriel Simonson of the Free Beacon. "Mobs of white women descending upon CVS are why it’s harder to buy deodorant‚" joked Sam Mangold-Lenett of the Federalist. "Apparently the @FBI thinks the organized white upper middle class teenaged girl gangs are the ones to blame for higher prices and businesses closing‚" read another tweet. "White people are finally back in advertising!" responded author Scott Greer. "OMG‚ the WOKE FBI page is the funniest parody account on X. Yes‚ middle-class Wite women in designer clothes are the reason the laundry detergent is locked up at Walmart located in the South Side of Chicago‚" read another tweet mocking the post. The tweet from the FBI garnered over 5 million impressions from the criticism. A poll from 2023 found that young people are far more inclined to steal from stores than their older counterparts. Nearly a third of Gen Z consumers said that they had stolen products at self-checkout kiosks‚ while only 15% of total shoppers said the same. In one of the cases of thwarted retail theft documented by the FBI‚ four Ecuadorian nationals were indicted by a grand jury in November for allegedly orchestrating the theft of jewelry and 300 Apple Watches from their base in California‚ including $300‚000 worth of diamonds. Blaze News investigative writer Steve Baker says FBI wants him to self-surrender Friday in Dallas over his Jan. 6 reporting

Blaze News investigative journalist Steve Baker said the FBI wants him to self-surrender to the agency Friday morning in Dallas over his January 6 reporting. — (@) What are the details? Baker told Blaze News he's been instructed to turn himself in at the agency's field office at 7 a.m. wearing "shorts and sandals" — which he said signals that the plan likely is to go for "humiliation" and place him in an orange jumpsuit‚ handcuff him‚ and do the "prisoner transport routine." He added that after he's taken to the Dallas courthouse‚ he'll appear at a 10 a.m. hearing before a federal magistrate. "They didn’t have to go this route‚" Baker told Blaze News on Tuesday evening. "We have been told that my charges are only misdemeanors. And my attorneys have been assured that this will be an ‘in and out’ affair with 'no intention' to detain me. But rather than issuing a simple order to appear‚ they went the 'arrest warrant' route." What's more‚ Baker said he still does not know what the charges against him are‚ noting to Blaze News that the powers that be won't tell his attorney about the charges because they believe Baker will post them on social media. Baker's Dallas attorney‚ James Lee Bright‚ added to Blaze News that withholding the nature of the charges against his client is a "really unusual" move. Bright also said he's hoping to get a copy of the complaint against Baker as early as possible Friday morning. Baker also said his legal team was told there was no request to the court for detention‚ no need for bail‚ and the expectation is that he'll be released after the proceedings. Bright told Blaze News that he anticipates Friday's hearing to be simple. "We do not know if there will be pretrial travel restrictions‚ although that has been the norm for J6 defendants — even for misdemeanor defendants‚" Baker also said. "It has also been universal that no J6ers are allowed to travel to Washington‚ D.C.‚ which for obvious reasons will have a deleterious impact on my work. We also do not know if there will be any other accompanying restrictions or orders: gag order from talking about my case‚ no social media‚ limited social media‚ order to surrender devices and/or firearms. All unknowns." 'Absolute chilling effect' Bright told Blaze News that he's "disturbed" about what's transpiring with his client‚ especially given that Baker has been "in full compliance" all this time. Bright also said the federal government "three-plus years later going after people who were legitimate functioning journalists that day" appears designed to have an "absolute chilling effect." "I'm not a depressive person‚ but I'm not happy about this‚" Baker added to Blaze News. "I have prayed‚ 'Lord‚ let this cup pass from me‚' but apparently it's not going to." However‚ he also said it will be a "relief" to get this first step over with. Baker added that when he asked his other attorney‚ William Shipley‚ why the federal government is treating him like this‚ Shipley replied‚ "You know why. You've been poking them in the eye for three years" Blaze Media editor in chief Matthew Peterson couldn't agree more‚ saying in a Tuesday evening statement that "the federal government's treatment of Steve Baker is outrageous." "He's had unknown charges hanging over his head for years‚ but after we started working with him the government sprang back into action. There is no need to put him in a jumpsuit or handcuffs except as a humiliation ritual or a show‚ which seems to be exactly what they are planning on doing on Friday‚" Peterson added. "We will be showing the world footage from January 6 that shows Steve was clearly present that day as an independent journalist. Government retaliation such as this against journalists contradicts the very idea of a free press‚ the purpose of our form of government‚ and what once was the American way of life‚" Peterson also noted‚ adding that "this should not be happening in America." What's the background? Baker announced in December that the FBI said the U.S. Department of Justice would be charging him for his Jan. 6 reporting — but two days later‚ he noted that the FBI said his self-surrender was postponed until after Christmas. It's been a waiting game ever since. Here's an interview BlazeTV's Sara Gonzales conducted with Baker in December: Biden's DOJ to Charge THIS Journalist for Covering Jan 6 youtu.be Last month‚ attorneys representing Baker told Blaze News that the U.S. Department of Justice may be orchestrating a "retaliation" against Baker over his Jan. 6 reporting. "Steve’s actions on January 6 have been known to the Department of Justice for 3 years‚" Baker's attorneys said in a January news release. "But it is only now — after Steve has broken two major stories greatly embarrassing to the DOJ — that he is possibly being targeted for arrest and possibly felony prosecution. Any action taken to put him in handcuffs‚ hold him in custody‚ and have him transported to court by federal law enforcement will be nothing other than retaliation for his recent reporting." Baker discussed his legal saga in a pair of October commentary pieces for Blaze News (here and here)‚ detailing the ins and outs of the federal investigation he's been under following his independent journalistic work on Jan. 6‚ which began before he joined Blaze News. What has been uncovered as a result of Baker's investigations? Baker's first Jan. 6 analysis for Blaze News came last October‚ following countless hours in a House subcommittee office looking at frame after frame of Jan. 6 closed-circuit video — and it had him wondering: did Capitol Police Special Agent David Lazarus perjure himself in the Oath Keepers trial? Soon after‚ the slow pace of getting an unrestricted look at everything recorded on video prompted Blaze Media editor in chief Matthew Peterson's appeal to House Speaker Mike Johnson to release all the videos. On Nov. 17‚ Johnson did just that. Baker's investigative efforts also resulted in two additional analyses‚ both focusing on Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn: "January 6 and the N-word that wasn't" and "Harry Dunn's account of January 6 does not add up. At all."In December‚ Baker alleged he uncovered major irregularities involving Dunn‚ Capitol Police‚ the press‚ and U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Maryland).In January‚ Baker asserted that just-released U.S. Capitol closed-circuit TV video clips from Jan. 6 show Lazarus gave false testimony in the Oath Keepers trial. Proof of Perjury | The Truth About January 6 youtu.be Also in January‚ Baker and others were asking what the U.S. government has to hide in regard to the pipe bomb found on Jan. 6 at the Democratic National Committee headquarters. Baker followed up on that in February with another analysis titled "Capitol Police diverted all CCTV cameras away from DNC pipe bomb investigation — except one."Just last week‚ Baker penned his latest analysis‚ asking why Kamala Harris was at the DNC and not the Capitol on Jan. 6. English Premier League employs online troll-hunters who seek convictions for 'nasty' comments or messages to players

England's top soccer league employs a group of researchers who are responsible for unmasking the identities of online trolls who allegedly harass players and seeking convictions from local governments if they believe the social media users have broken the law.A team of seven people said they manage between 50-100 reports per week about online abuse toward English Premier League players‚ both in the men's and women's divisions.Using tactics that were originally developed to identify online sources that were illegally posting clips of soccer games‚ the group is now seeking out individuals who send threatening or harassing messages to its league's players. The soccer players have allegedly seen an increase in messages that include racism‚ misogyny‚ transphobia‚ or homophobia‚ the BBC noted. Interestingly‚ reports have shown that the vast majority of the messages do not come from England‚ however‚ meaning the league officials are pursuing cruel commentary from abroad. The Daily Mail reported that 70% of abusive comments came from overseas‚ while the BBC's report had that number at 80%."We don't often see repeat infringers - the same person sending the same messages. We often see it as one outburst‚ rather than a real spiral of abuse aimed at one particular individual‚" said investigative group leader Tim Cooper."I don't know if 'troll' is a bit too polite a word for some of the people that send the abuse‚" Cooper said‚ adding that the group looks out for "trigger incidents" during games. The online sleuths pay close attention to controversial moments in games and admit to proactively looking for allegedly abusive words while referencing a list of terms‚ comments‚ and phrases. When the group believes the comments or messages have elevated to the level of a crime‚ they seek convictions in the proper jurisdiction. This happened in the case of a 19-year-old from Singapore who was convicted of harassing one English league player‚ Neal Maupay. Cooper said his team "instantly" jumped into action when they received word about abuse of Maupay. They used public information‚ likely from a background-checking website‚ to link usernames‚ avatars‚ and accounts to find the man's identity. He was subsequently sentenced to nine months' probation‚ community service‚ and was forced to undergo psychological or psychiatric treatment."We wanted to get a message out there that doesn't matter where you are in the world‚ we will hopefully - if you send abuse - be able to find you and be able to take action‚" Cooper bragged.Maupay has given multiple statements regarding online abuse and has publicized sample comments he received. In August 2023‚ Maupay complained about an anonymous account commenting‚ "Hi‚ I hope your mom is in grave" after his team lost‚ remarking that "no one should ever deal with this" in reference to the comment. The player was one of the first reported athletes to refer his unwanted comments to league officials when he received threats that allegedly read‚ "Your family will be attacked later in the day just watch‚" and‚ "You think by reporting my account you're safe? I will kill you and your family." Everton Football Club condemns all forms of personal abuse directed towards our players and their families or any Club staff on social media. \n\nWe stand firmly against such behaviour and are investigating the social media accounts that have targeted Neal Maupay. \n\nWe also\u2026 — (@) While some comments can breach the legal threshold for harassment‚ the league has understandably faced criticism over censorship and an overreach into social media commentary.Cooper justified his team's actions by citing some comments as "really nasty abuse." The online investigator also alluded to the idea that some commentary should not be allowed to be posted online."We are not removing people's general thoughts or comments on a particular player‚ on a match or on the league itself‚" Cooper said. "We're dealing with stuff that's really horrible and shouldn't have any place online‚" he claimed. \ud83d\udde3 \u201cRacism or abuse is not OK and we are fighting it\u201d\n\n@OfficialBHAFC\u2019s frontman Neal Maupay on reporting racist online abuse\n\n#NoRoomForRacism | https://t.co/iak8EK09Hc — (@) Like Blaze News? More than 260‚000 criminal cases in Houston have been suspended due to 'lack of personnel' code since 2016

The Houston Police Department has suspended more than 260‚000 criminal cases over the past eight years. Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said that this is due to the department's "lack of personnel" code‚ according to Fox News Digital. While Finner said last week that the "lack of personnel" suspended more than 4‚000 cases of alleged sexual assault‚ a closer investigation found that the code applied to all the other departments too. The report noted that about 264‚000 incident reports have been suspended due to the shortage since 2016. The incident reports that have been suspended make up approximately 10% of the 2.8 million reports that have been filed since 2016. Finner noted that of the 264‚000 reports‚ around 100‚000 of those are property crimes. KRIV reported that the Houston Police Department released a statement on Monday concerning‚ stating:Our review of adult sex crime cases suspended with a code of "lack of personnel" has expanded to include all other divisions in the department found to be using that same code. We have determined that department-wide approximately 264‚000 such incident reports since 2016 were suspended with this code. That figure represents about 10% of the 2.8 million incident reports filed with HPD in the past eight years. Of those 264‚000 reports‚ about 100‚000 of them are property crimes. Our efforts to review sexual assault incident reports and contact potential victims continue. We are also moving additional personnel to other investigative divisions to address these incident reports involving crimes against persons. — (@) Finner said he first became aware that the lack of manpower was suspending alleged sexual assault cases in November 2021 and had ordered the department to stop using the code. Despite Finner's efforts to stop the suspension of these sexual assault cases‚ he was made aware in February 2024 that these cases were still being suspended due to a lack of manpower. As a result‚ sexual assault allegations were not actively being investigated. — (@) "Am I proud about this? No‚ I'm angry‚ okay‚ because I know we are better‚ and we are going to make it right‚ and we will make it right‚" Finner said last week‚ noting that the department is still running short on staff.Houston Mayor John Whitmore also commented on the development‚ saying‚ "I am very concerned. It is unacceptable‚ and I have instructed Chief Finner to be transparent and continue his review as a top priority.""Public safety continues to be my highest priority."Finner said he would hold a news briefing about the issue later in the week.
