A judge ruled Monday that the divorce case of Nathan Wade‚ who is the special prosecutor in the Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ racketeering and election interference case against former President Donald Trump‚ be made public.  The ruling from Judge Henry Thompson could spell bad news for Willis‚ who is already under scrutiny for allegedly being romantically linked to Wade.  Judge Thompson‚ who is overseeing the divorce case of Wade and his wife Joycelyn Wade‚ ruled during an emergency hearing in Cobb County that the case be unsealed for public access‚ the New York Post reported. A court filing from Joycelyn says Wade paid for Willis to accompany him on at least two trips; one in 2022 to Miami‚ and one last year to San Francisco. That filing includes credit card statements from a Visa Signature Business account that purports to show Wade booking round-trip flights for himself and Willis.  The credit card statements are significant‚ since it is seemingly the first hard evidence backing up allegations first made by Trump co-defendant Michael Roman. In Roman’s filing‚ which seeks to boot Willis and her entire office from the Trump case‚ he claims Willis improperly hired her romantic partner‚ Wade‚ as special prosecutor in the case‚ and then financially benefited from the arrangement. Wade has been paid more than $650‚000 to work on the case and allegedly used some of that taxpayer money to fund lavish vacations for the pair. Judge Thompson also decided Monday to pause Willis’ deposition in the divorce case. The DA was subpoenaed to testify in the case earlier this month. The judge‚ however‚ did not rule out Willis having to testify‚ saying he would wait to hear Wade’s testimony before deciding if Willis’ testimony is needed.  Willis has neither directly confirmed nor denied having a romantic relationship with Wade‚ and her office has previously said the DA will address the allegations in a formal court response. Willis did‚ though‚ allude to the allegations when speaking at a church in Georgia last Sunday. The DA‚ who is black‚ suggested she was dealing with the allegations because of racism.  “First thing they say‚ ‘Oh‚ she’s gonna play the race card now‚'” Willis told the congregation. “But no God‚ isn’t it them that’s playing the race card when they only question one. Isn’t it them playing the race card when they constantly think I need someone from someone from some other jurisdiction in some other state to tell me how to do a job I’ve been doing almost 30 years.”  The judge overseeing the Trump election interference case has set a hearing date of Feb. 15‚ regarding the alleged misconduct‚ and directed the DA’s office to respond to the motion by Feb. 2. Thus far‚ rumors of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation looking into Willis are unfounded; the Bureau confirmed to Newsweek it is not investigating Willis for alleged impropriety.

Reese Witherspoon hit back at critics who got all worked up about her recipe for a winter treat — which included scooping up fresh snow from outside. It all started after the 47-year-old actress posted a video that’s since gone viral on TikTok about how to make a yummy treat on a cold day she dubbed a “snow salt chococinno.” In the clip‚ the “Legally Blonde” star walked outside with two giant mugs — and she scooped up two cups of snow. We actually put our mouths on the tap.” Witherspoon then laughed and said that for those saying she must first filter the snow‚ “I just can’t.” She added‚ “Filter snow? I don’t know how to do that‚” and continued giggling. The United States Navy identified the two Navy SEALs who were killed in action during a mission earlier this month off the coast of Africa. Spain and Japan assisted the U.S. in searching for Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Christopher J. Chambers‚ 37‚ and Navy Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class Nathan Gage Ingram‚ 27‚ after they went missing on January 11. The SEALs were climbing up onto a vessel while conducting a nighttime interdiction mission when one of them was knocked off by powerful ocean waves. Following protocol‚ the next Navy SEAL up jumped into the water to help rescue him. The ship that the SEAL team interdicted was illegally transporting advanced Iranian conventional weapons to Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen. “We extend our condolences to Chris and Gage’s family‚ friends‚ and teammates during this incredibly challenging time. They were exceptional warriors and cherished teammates and dear friends to many within the Naval Special Warfare community‚” said Capt. Blake L. Chaney‚ commander‚ Naval Special Warfare Group 1. “Chris and Gage selflessly served their country with unwavering professionalism and exceptional capabilities. This loss is devastating for NSW‚ our families‚ the special operations community‚ and across the nation.” Chambers had served in the Navy since May 2012 while Ingram had served in the Navy since 2019. The Naval Special Warfare Group said in a statement that the incident remains under investigation. President Joe Biden said in a statement on Monday that he was “mourning the tragic deaths of two of America’s finest — Navy SEALs who were lost at sea while executing a mission off the coast of East Africa last week.” “Over ten days‚ the United States military conducted an extensive search and rescue mission‚” Biden said. “Recovery efforts are still continuing as we grieve this profound loss for our country. These SEALs represented the very best of our country‚ pledging their lives to protect their fellow Americans. Our hearts go out to the family members‚ loved ones‚ friends‚ and shipmates who are grieving for these two brave Americans. Our entire country stands with you. We will never fail to honor their service‚ their legacy‚ and their sacrifice.”

A watchdog group filed an ethics complaint on Monday against several members of Congress including Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)‚ accusing the Democratic lawmakers of abusing official resources for political benefit.  The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) filed the complaint to the Office of Congressional Ethics against Reps. Cori Bush (D-MO)‚ Jamaal Bowman (D-NY)‚ Sean Casten (D-IL)‚ Greg Casar (D-TX)‚ Maxwell Frost (D-FL)‚ Ted Lieu (D-CA)‚ Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)‚ Ilhan Omar (D-MN)‚ and Ritchie Torres (D-NY). They are all accused of linking official government resources to their campaign accounts‚ a violation of federal law and House ethics rules regulating the social media activity of Congress. The lawmakers “have all published numerous social media posts on their campaign accounts either using official government resources or re-posting official government content‚ including official photographs and video‚ work product‚ and official social media posts‚” according to a copy of the complaint first shared with The Daily Wire.  FACT said that the violations are serious because they allow politicians to give a sense of official legitimacy to campaign accounts.  “Though to some it may seem like a simple thing on the surface‚ the Members choosing to break this law do it for a reason — it advantages them politically. The various codes governing elected officials’ behavior all purposefully — and wisely — prevent Members from blatantly leveraging their currently held office to either get reelected or to use their position to gain a future position‚” the letter said.  The complaint included about 91 pages of evidence documenting the violations of official House rules. One example included Pelosi posting House January 6 footage from her official campaign account.  “This is not an isolated incident. These violations are rampant and obvious‚ and clearly the OCE’s failure to act has encouraged continued violations. This failure has also incentivized these Members to use House proceedings for political campaigning rather than doing what is in the best interest of the country‚” FACT Executive Director Kendra Arnold told The Daily Wire. The OCE has both the authority and a clear responsibility to ensure each ethics violation is dealt with swiftly. Not doing so both permits clear violations to continue and erodes the public’s trust in the OCE itself‚” she added.  FACT has filed similar individual complaints against other members of Congress this year‚ including Frost‚ Casten‚ and Rep. Reuben Gallego (R-AZ). 

Plastic surgeon Terry Dubrow‚ who became nationally recognized during his time on the reality show “Botched‚” called the semaglutide Ozempic a “miracle” but still said he decided to quit using it. The 65-year-old reality star discussed his experience with the popular drug during a recent interview with Page Six. “I’ve tried it. I thought it was amazing‚” Dubrow told the outlet. “I didn’t have that much weight to lose. But I wanted to try it because so many of my patients were on it and I wanted to see what it was like when you’re not diabetic and you only have 10-15 pounds to lose.” Though some users report serious side effects‚ the famous plastic surgeon said he only experienced “low-grade nausea” while taking the medication. Dubrow said even though he stopped using Ozempic‚ he remains a “huge fan.” “I think it’s a miracle‚” he said of the medication. “The biggest breakthrough in medical history.” Ultimately‚ Dubrow opted to stop using the medication because he found his reduced appetite less than appealing ahead of the holiday season. “I thought‚ ‘You know what‚ I kind of want to get my appetite back. The holidays are coming‚ I want to enjoy myself‚’” he told Page Six. “You go on vacation‚ maybe you don’t exercise‚ you eat too much‚” he added. “It was kind of like‚ ‘Well‚ I want to go on a food vacation‚’ meaning I want to be able to eat again cause it really took my appetite and all the joy of eating away.” The “Botched” star also issued a few words of warning for those considering trying Ozempic. You have to increase your protein‚ you have to work out.” Ozempic is a medicine made for people with type 2 diabetes. It’s a weekly injection that helps lower blood sugar by helping the pancreas make more insulin. It is not approved for weight loss‚ but some physicians prescribe it for that purpose anyway as it causes users to have significantly reduced appetites‚ which in turn causes them to drop pounds quickly.  Many celebrities‚ including Oprah and Sharon Osbourne‚ have admitted to using Ozempic to lose weight‚ while others‚ like Jillian Michaels‚ have warned against the harmful side effects.
