Delta Airlines employee stands up to transgender bully causing scene at airport gate over pronouns: 'Human rights violation'

A Delta Airlines employee went viral over the Christmas holiday for standing up to a transgender activist who was causing a scene for allegedly having been "misgendered."The video shows transgender actor Tommy Dorfman — a biological man who identifies as a woman — confront Delta Airlines gate agents at LaGuardia Airport in New York on Saturday. The video doesn't show what happened prior to the confrontation‚ but the Delta employees are clearly upset that they can't help other customers because Dorfman is causing a scene.Dorfman's grievance was that the employees "intentionally" misgendered him by not using female pronouns to refer to him‚ a charge one of the employees denied."It wasn't intentional‚ but if you want to take it personally‚ that's also OK‚" the Delta employee said."Well‚ she did do it intentionally‚ twice‚" Dorfman argued‚ referring to another gate agent."I did not do it intentionally‚" that female gate agent responded. When Dorfman reiterated his accusation‚ the primary gate agent stood his ground."You're being condescending‚ and if you want to continue‚ I'll have Port Authority escort you out of the building if you want to play that game with me‚" the Delta employee said. "Would you like to continue three days before Christmas? I really don't mind.""I'm good‚" Dorfman conceded. — (@) The video was originally uploaded to Dorfman's TikTok account. The video has since been taken down. In his description of the incident‚ Dorfman accused the Delta employee of a "human rights violation."He said‚ according to the Washington Examiner:When you try to advocate for yourself at @delta and are met with even more transphobia and threats of being arrested at LaGuardia. Tristan‚ the employee‚ said he was fine with me posting this. Didn't realize it was condescending to flag a human rights violation after another employee misgendered me incessantly.Dorfman‚ moreover‚ confirmed that Port Authority was dispatched over the incident."The man actually called port authority. Two police officers actually showed up ~10 min later and spoke to me and my partner about the incident‚" Dorfman wrote on TikTok‚ according to the Washington Examiner.Delta Airlines‚ meanwhile‚ is not saying much."We're aware of the video and looking into the matter‚ including reaching out to our customer to understand more about what occurred‚" the company said. Suspect faces hate crime charges in NYC after allegedly hurling anti-white invectives during Grand Central Terminal stabbing

The man who allegedly stabbed two teenage girls at Grand Central Terminal in New York City on Christmas Day now faces hate crime charges since he supposedly shouted racist invectives against white people during the attack.Just before 11:30 a.m. on Christmas Day‚ two teen girls from Paraguay were enjoying lunch with their parents at Tartinery‚ a busy café in the Grand Central Dining Concourse. While the family sat at their table‚ Esteban Esono-Asue‚ a 36-year-old career criminal who goes by the name Steven Hutcherson and who reportedly lives at the station‚ began causing a disturbance by attempting to sit down at the restaurant without placing an order‚ KTVO reported. His behavior was apparently so erratic that Tartinery staff members denied him a table. He then reportedly became enraged‚ pointing at the teen girls‚ ages 14 and 16‚ and noting that they were allowed to stay."I want all the white people dead‚" the suspect‚ who is black‚ then yelled. "I want to sit next to the cr*ckers."Hutcherson then allegedly pulled out a knife and viciously stabbed the two girls. The 14-year-old sustained a wound to her thigh‚ but her older sister suffered a wound in her back so deep that the blade nicked her lung‚ causing it to collapse. Thankfully‚ none of the injuries are considered life-threatening‚ and the girls are recovering.Within a minute‚ officers with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority apprehended the suspect and hauled him away to jail. Hutcherson was initially charged with felony counts of attempted murder‚ assault‚ and criminal possession of a weapon‚ as well as misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has since announced that all of the felony counts against Hutcherson will be charged as hate crimes. Hutcherson is scheduled to appear in court on Friday. The Legal Aid Society‚ which is representing Hutcherson‚ did not respond to a request for comment from NBC News. Hutcherson is no stranger to law enforcement. Reports say that MTA and NYPD officers have arrested him a total of 17 times‚ three of which came just in the past six months.During an incident in November‚ Hutcherson made racially charged comments while attacking his victim‚ Yussif Abdullahi‚ a 46-year-old Ghana native who was working outside a freight truck depot in Hunts Point at the time‚ the New York Post reported."Why are you working for white people?" Hutcherson screamed‚ according to the criminal complaint. "I’m going to kill this man!""I’m gonna shoot you. I don’t care what kind of green card the government gave you‚" he continued while flashing what appeared to be a weapon in his possession. No gun was ever recovered‚ but Hutcherson eventually pled guilty to third-degree misdemeanor assault. Judge Matthew V. Grieco sentenced him to conditional discharge on December 12‚ about two weeks before the attack in Grand Central Terminal."I’m so disappointed in the cops‚" Abdullahi said after the stabbing of the two teens. "When he was threatening me‚ he told me‚ 'The cops don’t do s***! They don’t do s***!' And what he said was true. The cops didn’t do anything.""They shouldn’t have let him out."Like Blaze News? COP28 blames colonial powers and white supremacy for climate crisis

The 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Dubai was about as serious as any sane person would think: not serious at all. One of the panelists used her moment in the spotlight to blame white supremacy and the patriarchy for the ongoing “climate crisis” around the world. “We cannot continue business as usual. We cannot continue this extractive economy. Our call to action for gender justice‚ racial justice‚ upholding indigenous rights‚ rights of nature‚ calling for just transition‚ and immediately phasing out fossil fuels is an ongoing agenda‚” she began. “It’s an urgent call for our very survival‚” she continued. “False solutions‚ white supremacy‚ colonization‚ and patriarchy have no place in any climate action plan.” Pat Gray and Keith Malinak call this obscene performance what it actually is. “The climate change hoax has now been lumped in with white supremacy‚ environmental justice‚ gender justice stuff‚” Malinak explains. Another panelist at the conference took her turn in the spotlight to repeat similar talking points. “I can tell you that 100% of this is a product of colonization. It is a product of the fossil fuel companies in our territory that are virtually killing us. It is genocide‚” she tells the audience. “Wow‚ is that bad stuff‚” Gray comments.“That’s ugliness right there.” Want more from Pat Gray?To enjoy more of Pat's biting analysis and signature wit as he restores common sense to a senseless world‚ subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America‚ defend the Constitution‚ and live the American dream.

Johnny Carson‚ the ghost of comedy past

Johnny Carson‚ the ghost of comedy past

On a recent holiday visit to my parents' house‚ I found myself catching up with an old friend. It had been a while since I’d seen him‚ but he was just as I remembered: the requisite suit and tie‚ the close-cropped white hair‚ the boyish grin‚ the mischievous wit breaking through the professional demeanor. It was surprisingly easy‚ watching those “Tonight Show” reruns with my father‚ to feel a cozy nostalgia for a time when we all partook of the same vast‚ unifying monoculture‚ when so many of us made sense of the day’s events by filtering them through the sensibility of a polite Midwesterner named Johnny Carson. No doubt my nostalgia has something to do with the fact that Carson’s reign as late-night king ended around the same time as my childhood. During my last few years of high school‚ I stayed up to catch him whenever I could‚ awed by his seemingly effortless command of his audience and guests‚ an authority worn so lightly you barely noticed it‚ even when he employed it to restore order to a show gone off the rails. And like millions of others‚ I tuned in to say a wistful goodbye when he signed off for good on May 22‚ 1992. The long goodbye There was a lot I didn’t understand back then: about life‚ about Carson‚ about comedy. While I knew that Carson’s retirement heralded “the end of an era” — his “Tonight Show” tenure spanned 30 years‚ after all — what I didn’t realize was how much had already changed. Carson’s gentle mockery of American moral norms presupposed a world in which the Protestant Christian mainstream upholding those norms still held sway. But while we laughed at Carson’s winking jokes about divorce‚ sex‚ and the Hollywood lifestyle‚ the acid bath of the 1960s counterculture did its work‚ slowly dissolving the church and other apparently vestigial institutions until all that remained was a vague ethos of “personal growth” as vapid as it was hedonistic. If Carson failed to pick up on this‚ his successors didn’t. Every weeknight for the last decade of the Carson era‚ David Letterman followed his mentor’s sophisticated insouciance with the detached irony of a generation for whom all norms were hoaxes. As Letterman grew in popularity‚ the two audiences diverged: one sought solace in laughter‚ the other in the satisfaction of being in on the joke. Ancient history This tension famously came to a head when it was time to name Carson’s successor‚ and the upstart turned heir apparent lost out to his far more conventional rival‚ the uninspired but dogged Jay Leno. A similar‚ even uglier power struggle occurred 15 years later‚ when Leno refused to honor his promise to hand over the “Tonight Show” to Conan O’Brien. In both cases the “safe” choice prevailed‚ much to the chagrin of a highly vocal‚ self-appointed elite class of comedy enjoyers. From the vantage point of 2023‚ such disagreements over the nature and purpose of humor can seem as distant and esoteric as medieval theology. Letterman has mellowed with age‚ as has O’Brien; at the same time‚ the internet has made their trademark self-awareness the cultural default. Current “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon can be even more of a smarmy company man than Leno ever was‚ while still understanding the absurdist appeal of kitschy pop culture references and stale showbiz patter. Today’s tightly stage-managed guest segments offer little hope that someone may do or say something interesting‚ although it hardly matters. Anyone seeking more authentic‚ unfiltered speech from their favorite personalities will long ago have gravitated to their social media posts and podcast appearances. Like the monologues and the goofy‚ slapdash sketches‚ the celebrity sit-downs serve as a familiar bedtime ritual for the dwindling set of Americans who prefer to fall asleep in front of their TVs instead of underneath their phones. The only captive audiences left are those who submit by choice; for them the promise of comfort is worth far more than the possibility of adventure. Here's Dave! For those of us still scavenging the wastelands‚ trustworthy guides are few and far between. The closest thing to leadership comes from Dave Chappelle‚ the comic who best reflects the spirit of our exhausted age. Where Carson smirked and Letterman sneered‚ Chappelle sighs. His setups wander as if searching for a punch line to make sense of all that came before. When those punch lines come‚ they are inevitably tinged with melancholy. Chappelle doesn’t make his observations with the collegial bewilderment of Jerry Seinfeld or the confrontational bluster of Bill Hicks. Instead‚ his delivery evokes nothing so much as an exasperated teacher pleading with his thick-witted students to understand. What’s funny about Chappelle is his tacit awareness of how redundant his chosen profession has become; these days everybody plays the fool. And why not? Tearing down hierarchies gets far more attention than the quiet‚ day-to-day labor of maintaining them. But sooner or later we’ll run out of imposing edifices to destroy. Then the only thing left to laugh at will be the foibles of those trying to remain human in the ruins.

Lawsuit accuses CIA of withholding possible evidence that its analysts took bribes to conceal lab origin of COVID-19

Lawsuit accuses CIA of withholding possible evidence that its analysts took bribes to conceal lab origin of COVID-19

A new federal lawsuit accuses the CIA of withholding possible evidence that its analysts were paid to deep-six findings that the most likely cause of the COVID-19 pandemic was a Chinese lab leak. The lawsuit‚ filed Friday by the Heritage Foundation's Oversight Project and obtained by the Daily Caller‚ suggests that just as the CIA has neglected to publicly provide congressional investigators with the information they requested‚ it has similarly failed to provide Heritage with a timely response. What's the background? A CIA whistleblower described as a "multi-decade‚ senior-level" official claimed in September that the agency bribed six analysts on its COVID Discovery Team to reject the theory that the COVID-19 virus initially spread as the result of a research-related leak at China's Wuhan Institute of Virology — a communist-controlled lab controversial for its dangerous experiments on coronviruses. Blaze News previously noted that federal documents obtained through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit revealed earlier this year that the National Institute of Allergy and Infections Diseases‚ under former director Anthony Fauci‚ funded experiments at the WIV. Millions among the dollars funneled from Fauci's agency to the WIV were mediated by Peter Daszak's EcoHealth Alliance‚ whose subcontractor Ben Hu — the lead on gain-of-function research on SARS-like coronaviruses — was among the patients zero at the lab and ostensibly among the very first infected in the world. According to a Sept. 12 letter penned by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-Ohio) and Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio)‚ the CIA whistleblower revealed that at the end of its review‚ six of the seven members of the COVID Discovery Team "believed the intelligence and science were sufficient to make a low confidence assessment that COVID-19 originated from a laboratory in Wuhan‚ China. The seventh member of the Team‚ who also happened to be the most senior‚ was the lone officer to believe COVID-19 originated through zoonosis." The whistleblower indicated that "to come to the eventual public determination of uncertainty‚ the other six members were given a significant monetary incentive to change their position." The whistleblower's allegations were significant because a declassified report released in June by the director of national intelligence stated‚ "The Central Intelligence Agency and another agency remain unable to determine the precise origin of the COVID-19 pandemic‚ as both hypotheses rely on significant assumptions or face challenges with conflicting reporting." In response to the whistleblower testimony‚ congressional lawmakers demanded that the CIA turn over all documents and communications pertaining to the COVID Discovery Team‚ its establishment‚ and its investigation of the origins of the virus‚ as well as all documents pertaining to members' pay history‚ by no later than Sept. 26. Republican senators similarly wrote to CIA Director William Burns in early September demanding transparency on this issue. The Heritage Foundation and Mike Howell of the Oversight Project then hit the agency with a Freedom of Information Act request to the same effect on Sept. 20. The FOIA suit Heritage indicated in its Friday complaint that the CIA did not ultimately comply with its September FOIA request regarding who allegedly "received monetary incentives to change their position on the origins of the virus." The complaint asked the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to compel the CIA to both "conduct a search or searches reasonably calculated to uncover all records responsive to Plaintiffs' FOIA Request" and to produce all non-exempt records inside 20 days of the court's order or "by such other date as the Court deems appropriate." "The Biden administration has refused to be transparent with Congress and the American people over the origins of COVID-19‚" Kyle Brosnan‚ chief counsel for the Oversight Project‚ told the New York Post. "A CIA whistleblower has made serious allegations that the agency bought off employees of the agency to further obstruct efforts to get to the truth of the virus's origins‚" continued Brosnan. "This obstruction cannot stand‚ and we're fighting in federal court to get to the bottom of this." Fauci on the hot seat in 2024 It's not just America's spies whose feet are now being held to the fire. Anthony Fauci‚ the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases‚ is set to testify before the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic on Jan. 8 and Jan. 9. The subcommittee noted on X that "thankfully‚ Dr. Fauci's retirement from public service does not shield him from Congressional oversight nor accountability to the American people." The subcommittee further reminded the public that Fauci commissioned‚ edited‚ and gave final approval to the impactful March 2020 study published in the journal Nature‚ "The Proximal Origins of SARS-CoV-2" — an oft-cited study whose authors expressed concerns in private about the "sh** show that would happen if anyone serious accused the Chinese of even accidental release‚" making clear that their cause was "political." Fauci repeatedly referenced this paper on the national stage‚ including once from the White House podium‚ to bolster the zoonotic origins theory ultimately entertained by the CIA team. The subcommittee also highlighted how Fauci was cognizant of the dangerous gain-of-function research taking place in Wuhan but "did nothing to stop it or warn the American people." The subcommittee failed to mention in its short list of Fauci's faux pas Wenstrup's late-September revelation that "according to information gathered by the Select Subcommittee‚ Dr. Anthony Fauci‚ then-director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases‚ played a role in the Central Intelligence Agency's review of the origins of COVID-19." "The information provided suggests that Dr. Fauci was escorted into Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Headquarters — without a record of entry — and participated in the analysis to 'influence' the Agency’s review‚" continued the chairman. Dem AGs target pro-life pregnancy centers over abortion reversal pill

Democratic attorneys general are targeting pro-life pregnancy centers over their advertisements and use of the abortion reversal pill‚ the Daily Caller News Foundation reported Monday.New Jersey‚ California‚ and Washington are being accused of going after pro-life organizations‚ claiming the clinics are spreading “misinformation” and “misleading” women about the abortion reversal pill.Last week‚ the Alliance Defending Freedom filed suit against New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin (D)‚ claiming he “selectively targeted First Choice Women’s Resource Centers based on its religious speech and pro-life views with a wide-ranging‚ unfounded‚ and burdensome subpoena that requires the organization to expend its limited resources to produce extensive documentation or face judicial sanctions.”According to the complaint‚ the attorney general’s subpoena “does not refer to any substantive evidence of wrongdoing to justify his onerous demands.”Platkin previously issued a consumer alert about crisis pregnancy centers‚ noting that they “do NOT provide abortion care.”“CPCs are organizations that seek to prevent people from accessing comprehensive reproductive health care‚ including abortion care and contraception‚” the alert stated. “CPCs may also provide false or misleading information about abortion—including the physical and mental health effects of abortion—to deter people from choosing abortion.”ADF senior counsel Lincoln Wilson called the attorney general’s actions “unlawful.”“Attorney General Platkin has aligned himself with Planned Parenthood’s pro-abortion mission and even enlisted its help to target pro-life pregnancy centers like our client First Choice. The U.S. Constitution protects First Choice Ministry’s right to freely speak its beliefs‚ freely exercise its faith‚ freely associate with like-minded individuals and organizations‚ and continue to provide its free services in a caring and compassionate environment to women and men facing difficult pregnancy circumstances‚” Wilson stated. The ADF filed a similar lawsuit last month against Democratic Attorney General Bob Ferguson of Washington on behalf of two pro-life nonprofits. Ferguson accused Obria Group and Obria Medical Groups PNW of deceptively marketing the abortion reversal pill‚ progesterone. In September‚ California Democratic Attorney General Rob Bonta sued two pregnancy centers‚ claiming that the clinics spread false information about the use of progesterone to reverse the effects of mifepristone‚ the abortion pill‚ Blaze News previously reported.Mifepristone works by blocking progesterone receptors. Women who wish to reverse a chemical abortion may be able to do so by taking progesterone‚ which is a necessary hormone for pregnancy.Bonta’s lawsuit claimed that the use of the progesterone to reverse abortions is “scientifically unproven and risky.” He accused pro-life pregnancy centers of being “predatory” and targeting vulnerable patients. Aimee Huber‚ executive director of First Choice‚ told the DCNF that the abortion reversal pill “may be effective” or “it may not be effective” when taken after mifepristone.“But that is something that she can choose to take if she changes her mind about her abortion‚” Huber explained.“We are simply there to serve women who are scared and vulnerable and think abortion is their only option‚” Huber continued. “And there are certainly people that don’t like what we do‚ and we’re feeling that today.”Gabriella McIntyre with the ADF told the DCNF that legal action against pro-life pregnancy centers will likely “pick up” as Democratic attorneys general become more “aggressive.”“This is not an isolated incident. We’re seeing this as part of a larger trend of hostility towards pro-life organizations and particularly towards pro-life pregnancy centers across the nation‚” McIntyre told the outlet. “These attorneys general are targeting and harassing pregnancy centers‚ because of their religious and pro-life views. They are using their consumer protection authority to accomplish their purpose‚ which is clearly to divert and impede the mission of these organizations to serve women and families‚ and instead shift their focus to complying with these unfounded and unjustified demands.”Platkin‚ Bonta‚ and Ferguson’s offices did not respond to a request for comment from the DCNF.Like Blaze News?
