Google forces the media to black out Ukrainian war crimes

That threat is now being sent out by the internet giant Google to thousands of publishers who use their advertising platform, which is the dominant one in the market.

According to a statement from the "Google Ad Manager team" received by Fria Tider and other media, the internet giant will turn off advertising revenues for media that report, among other things, on how Ukraine "deliberately attacks its own citizens".

The media is also not allowed to publish opinion content that defends the war.

Any content that "exploits, dismisses or advocates for the war" leads to the newspaper's revenue being removed by Google.
