Jeremy Boreing‚ Ben Shapiro Talk ‘Heart’ Of ‘Lady Ballers‚’ Detail Raw Emotion On Set

Jeremy Boreing‚ the director and star of the DailyWire+ comedy “Lady Ballers‚” and Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro talked to radio co-hosts Buck Sexton and Clay Travis this week about the heart of the film‚ detailing the real emotion behind one of the final scenes of the comedy. “Lady Ballers‚” which premiered on DailyWire+ Friday evening‚ tells the story of a down-and-out former high school basketball coach named Rob (Boreing)‚ who will do anything to win — in this case‚ teaching his team of men radical modern gender theory and leading them to identify as women in order to brutally dominate multiple women’s sports. “What really struck me watching it with the crowd on Wednesday night is how well the heartfelt scenes play‚” Boreing said‚ referring to the red carpet screening of “Lady Ballers.” “When we were there‚ on set‚ shooting the end — I won’t give too much away — it’s so full of life and heart‚ we were all just laughing‚ almost in tears‚ because we had a thousand extras up in the stands in this big sports arena‚ and the thing that you see at the end of the movie was actually happening right in front of us. We were just capturing it with cameras as it occurred.” “I think it’s a truly beautiful moment‚ and that’s what I love about the movie‚” the Daily Wire co-founder added. “I think it does hold up‚ I think it’s very funny‚ I think it does a great job of handling these issues that it was sort of tailor-made to handle‚ but I also just think it’s a good story and a good film and people will walk away really satisfied with it.” Shapiro‚ who has a cameo in the film‚ joined Boreing for the interview and noted that the film is certainly going to rile up the Left. “Whatever we can do to tweak people‚ apparently we will do‚” Shapiro joked. “I think that the Left is gonna feel good and tweaked by this thing‚ and you’re gonna see this in the response‚” he said‚ noting that liberal critics will likely offer up bad reviews or ignore the film — a tactic they’ve used with past Daily Wire content. And though Shapiro noted that the film takes on “an enormous amount of morality‚” “Lady Ballers‚” due to the nature of some of its jokes‚ is for a mature audience. “We’re not Disney — we’re not interested in cultivating your kids‚” he quipped. Soon following the premiere on Friday‚ thousands of positive reviews rolled in online. One review wrote on social media platform X‚ “#LadyBallers was awesome! I knew it would be funny‚ but I hadn’t considered Daily Wire’s ability to tell stories with good values and morals‚ (which of course is the case) The end was phenomenal! Way to go [Daily Wire]. You knocked it out of the park!”  CLICK HERE TO WATCH “LADY BALLERS” ON DAILYWIRE+ “I forgot what that feeling…of seeing a terrific movie‚ then playing the funny scenes back in my head‚” another person commented. “Tonight I remembered. #LadyBallers.” “Lady Ballers reminded me of the comedies I grew up with – not the unfunny woke garbage that Hollywood releases these days‚” read another online post. “Highly recommend.” Not even 24 hours since the premiere‚ “Lady Ballers” has racked up more than 1‚000 audience reviews on the popular review site Rotten Tomatoes‚ garnering a stunning 97% average score. On CNN‚ Chris Wallace Asks: 'Did Hunter Biden Outsmart House Republicans?'

On CNN’s The Chris Wallace Show on Saturday morning‚ they talked about Hunter Biden‚ but it was framed as Hunter making Republicans look dumb. Wallace began: "Sometimes the best defense is a good offense. The president's embattled son Hunter Biden taking on House Republicans this week‚ agreeing to testify in their impeachment inquiry‚ but only if it’s in public. House Republicans quick to reject the offer‚ calling for Hunter to testify first in private." After a soundbite of Rep. James Comer‚ Wallace then asked leftist podcaster Kara Swisher: "Kara‚ did Hunter Biden outsmart House Republicans‚ saying sure I'll testify -- in public?" The screen also asked 'DID HUNTER BIDEN OUTSMART HOUSE REPUBLICANS?' Swisher agreed: "Yes‚ I thought it was brilliant actually‚ because he's a somewhat appealing character. People will get to see him for the first time rather than the cartoon and now they have to say 'no we don't want to see you‚' and after all this time‚ we have to see Hunter Biden." That's a weird flex‚ because Hunter Biden did a weird round of interviews when his addiction memoir Beautiful Things came out in 2021. National Review contributor Reihan Salam strongly dissented from the CNN theme‚ calling Hunter's tactic "absolutely clownish. Look‚ when president trump was being impeached‚ there was a deposition first. When you had the January 6th investigations‚ there was a deposition first. There is a way that this is done in a thoughtful‚ responsible‚ professional way‚ and this is a stunt. It is nothing more than that." Wallace protested that "even hardline Republican" Sen. Josh Hawley advocated a public hearing‚ and he showed a clip. Then Wallace said "Just open the doors‚ Reihan!" Salam repeated it was an "entirely reasonable request" to begin with a private deposition (like the Pelosi-Picked Panel). He added: "Make it public fine‚ he's still going to come across as a clown‚ and someone who has been engaged in some pretty shady practices. That's fine‚ but this is a stunt. It's nothing more than that." Swisher shot back: "Yes. And It’s a good stunt. and OMG‚ I agree with Josh Hawley... Again‚ all of this is performative...why shouldn't he do it? This is exactly what he should do."  Then Wallace turned to the polls: " Even if there's no smoking gun in this whole investigation‚ so far at least‚ that Joe Biden benefitted personally from Hunter's business deals in China and Ukraine. Folks don't like it‚ take a look at this. Look at this [AP] poll from October: 35%‚ that the president did something illegal‚ and 33%‚ including one-third of Democrats‚ and Joe Biden did something unethical. Lulu‚ how big of a drag is Hunter Biden on his dad's campaign?" New York Times podcaster Lulu Garcia-Navarro‚ a former NPR host‚ repeated the usual lie: "We should say there is no proof of this yet. Right? They have been investigating for quite some time and there is no proof of this...that he benefitted personally." They all ignore the big checks Joe Biden was getting from his brother Jim‚ who was involved in Hunter's foreign deals. It was "loan repayment‚" claim the Bidens. Then she admitted "I think he's a drag‚ though. He's like that relative that we all have in our families‚ which we wish we didn't have and has been up to some stuff‚ and we kind of put them in a corner at a party and we're kind of embarrassed. I mean‚ you know‚ Hunter Biden is no poster child here for good behavior. That said‚ it remains to be seen‚ has he done anything criminal?" Republican pollster Kristen Soltis Andersen said there's enormous "baggage and trauma" in Hunter's life‚ but this scandal negates the Trump family scandals with voters. Then she wondered if we couldn't get nominees whose families aren't embroiled in financial scandals.

The Media And 2024: Will They Do Their Job?

The Media And 2024: Will They Do Their Job?

The event of this past week that drew a great deal of attention was Fox’s Sean Hannity hosting a debate between the Florida GOP Governor Ron DeSantis and California’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom. One of the striking features of this face-off was the regularity with which the two governors accused each other of lying. Which raises an obvious couple of questions.  Where is the media? And will the media do their job in 2024? It surely can’t be that difficult for journalists to dig into the obvious question. That would be: Was DeSantis really lying about this or that? Or was Newsom? As President John Adams famously said in the long ago‚ facts are stubborn things. And that they are. But if journalists are going to ignore and not report on facts because they are uncomfortable or make Democrat X (can you say Joe Biden?) look bad then suffice to say the 2024 campaign will not be a good one‚ with each party held accountable for the facts of their record. Already this week The Washington Post’s Robert Kagan was given considerable space to vent that a Trump victory would mean a Trump dictatorship because Trump would weaponize the government to go after his opponents.  Yet mysteriously there was no reference -- none -- to the hard fact that it is the Biden Justice Department that is right this minute prosecuting President Biden’s chief political opponent. In exactly the way that Kagan is afraid a re-elected Trump might do. But if that's the end of democracy‚ there's not a peep on the Biden dictatorial moves that are the moves of a third world Banana Republic. Which is to say‚ Kagan and the Post simply didn’t do their job. Who knows why‚ but one suspects they simply didn’t want to call out their guy - Biden‚ in this case. So again‚ the obvious? Will the media do their job in 2024 - or not? Will they cover for the Democrats and Biden‚ or will they call out Biden for saying and/or doing something? Suffice to say‚ things don’t look good on the media-telling-the-truth front.  By chance‚ in Joe Biden Americans have a president who has repeatedly been caught out lying.  Over there in The Hill‚ back in February‚ was this headline:  The seven biggest lies Biden told this week President Biden’s State of the Union address was full of lies and mistruths. They betray the desperation of a president with 38 percent job approval on the economy‚ 16 percent of the population better off than before he took office‚ and most of his own party wanting a different White House nominee in 2024. Note well‚ this was an opinion piece in The Hill. Not an insubstantial publication but not the kind of story that is repeatedly hammered home by the broadcast nets‚ MSNBC or CNN‚ much less The New York Times or The Washington Post. Understand this problem has been around for decades -- many decades. All the way back in 1960 -- a full 63 years ago -- historian Theodore H. White wrote about this in his classic Pulitzer Prize winning book The Making of the President 1960. Describing the press corps covering Democrat candidate Senator John F. Kennedy‚ White wrote this: There is no doubt that this kindliness‚ respect and cultivation (from the JFK campaign towards the traveling press corps covering his campaign) of the press colored call the reporting that came from the Kennedy campaign‚ and the contrast colored adversely the reporting of the Nixon campaign. By the last weeks of the campaign‚ those forty or fifty national correspondents who had followed Kennedy since the beginning of his electoral exertions into the November days had become more than a press corps -- they had become his friends and‚ some of them‚ his most devoted admirers.…They felt that‚ in chorus with the Kennedy staff they too were marching like soldiers of the Lord to the New Frontier. And nothing‚ it can be said‚ has changed. In fact‚ the leftist tilt of the media is even more pronounced now than then. So will the liberal media do their job in covering the 2024 campaign? Don’t bet the rent.
