For its day it was considered to be a very nice place and my family went to this hotel three times. During our second visit in August of 1977 the film Jaws II was being filmed at Navarre and I even got to see the mechanical Jaws stored with other movie equipment and props in the eastern portion of the hotel parking lot.During this spring break vacation around late March of 1977‚ there was a special showing of the film Bugsy Malone which only children were permitted to attend. It was during the film that I started to feel a bit disoriented. I heard some other children crying and I heard the sound of someone throwing up. At one point in the film‚ I got up from my chair to leave‚ but I was quickly escorted back to my chair by an usher in a black suit and black hat. I saw one or maybe two more men in black suits at the back of the theatre. After the film was over I felt just fine and I never did complain to anyone about that experience.One evening on this vacation I awoke and sat up in my bed. I looked across the room and could see a group of small figures in the dimly lit room. My brother was asleep to my right and my parents were asleep in the bed to my left. The feeling I felt was something I had felt before which I immediately recognized. It was a feeling I only felt when the Greys were near. I thought‚ “It's been a while.” And to a young boy about to turn 7‚ it had been over 2 years since his last encounter with the Greys. So it had felt like a long time. But then I could not move and one of the figures moved towards me very fast and the last thing I recalled was its big black eyes very close to my face and a wand-like object being pointed at me. Accompanying the image‚ which was shared through WhatsApp‚ was a series of audio claiming the police officer was admitted to a clinic "foaming from the mouth" following the incident.According to the message‚ the agent was engaged in a COVID-19 health and safety patrol along Provincial Route No.5 near the "Carboncito" wilderness when he decided to take a selfie.Upon noticing that "La Llorona" was in the photo‚ the audio explains: "The man felt unconscious to the ground and foam in his mouth‚ while one of his companions prayed and a third one didn't know where to run as a result of the fear and despair of hearing the heart rendering screams of the wandering spirit." It ends by saying that the young man was admitted. "He is now in the hospital‚ and he seems insane.""La Llorona" is a Latin American legend whose origins can be traced to Mexico. According to the story‚ it is the ghost of a woman who was in love with a Spanish knight at the time.The young woman had three children with the man‚ but after insisting that they formalize their relationship‚ she was deserted and left to her fate. The professional fact-checking industry has run into problems with The Babylon Bee before and some have responded better than others. Some outlets‚ like Snopes and USA Today‚ have a “satire” label. For PolitiFact‚ on the other hand‚ a satirical joke about Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is no laughing matter as it rated a Wednesday Bee article about him “false.” A Friday PolitiFact headline read‚ “Satirical headline about Pete Buttigieg and the Key Bridge taken out of context.” Ciara O’Rourke added more details‚ “A recent Facebook post shared a headline from a satire website but not everyone got the joke.” She continued‚ ‘“Buttigieg praises cargo ship for helping dismantle racism in American roads‚’ the headline said alongside photos of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and the cargo ship that crashed into Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge.” The post “was flagged as part of Meta’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed‚” meaning that the account that shared the Bee’s image is now considered the same threat to truth as those who think Donald Trump and Joe Biden are dead.  Incredibly‚ the Facebook post that was flagged clearly includes a box that urges people to “read the article at BabylonBee.com.” Not only did O’Rourke flag the Facebook user‚ she also joke-checked the Bee itself‚ “Comments Buttigieg made in 2021 are being taken out of context since the Key Bridge’s collapse. PolitiFact debunked another social media post that claimed the transportation secretary blamed the bridge’s collapse on ‘racism.’” O’Rourke explained that “Rather‚ in a 2021 interview‚ Buttigieg said racism has sometimes factored into highway planning and construction.” Yes‚ that’s the joke. It is a callback to Buttigieg’s earlier comments and the perception that the secretary of Transportation is actually the secretary of Woke Transportation. Satire‚ whether its from The Babylon Bee or The Onion‚ relies on readers being sophisticated enough to understand unmentioned facts or memories‚ like the roads comment‚ to comprehend the point of the joke. If the Bee mentioned the roads comment‚ it wouldn't be satire‚ it would just be another anti-Buttigieg editorial. O’Rourke concludes by proclaiming that “We rate claims that Buttigieg actually praised a cargo ship for helping to dismantle racism in American roads False.” If PolitiFact wants to point out that people fall for satirical headlines‚ it should create a satire label. In response to criticism‚ Snopes finally made the change five years ago. There’s no reason for PolitiFact to still be treating satire as if it is on the same level as unironic claims.

An American YouTuber was reportedly kidnapped in Haiti by one of the largest gangs that has become the nation's de facto leader. He was abducted after attempting to interview a notorious gang leader‚ according to the New York Post.The YouTuber — whose name is Addison Pierre Maalouf‚ also known online as YourFellowArab — traveled from his Atlanta home to interview Jimmy "Barbeque" Cherizier‚ the current leader of the G9 Family and Allies gang that has taken control of the small nation's government.However‚ Maalouf's plans did not go according to plan when he reached Haiti. Maalouf and a Haitian colleague were taken by members of the 400 Mawozo gang on March 14‚ just a day after he arrived.Haitian outlets reported that Maalouf is currently being held for a $600‚000 ransom‚ and just $40‚000 of the total has been paid. The kidnappers are continuing to demand a large sum for the YouTuber's release.On Thursday‚ fellow streamer Lalem took to X‚ writing: “Tried keeping it private for two weeks‚ but it’s getting out everywhere now."“Yes‚ Arab has been kidnapped in Haiti and we’re working on getting him out." — (@) Lalem also shared a video that Maalouf posted online‚ showing him at a hotel in Haiti‚ telling his viewers about the dangers of being in the gang-ridden country. He went on to say that he and his crew wished to travel to Port-au-Prince — the capital city — but they had to wait until daylight to do so.
