You cannot call yourself a Christian and support abortion.  The American Life League has a Charity Watchlist that catalogs organizations who support the innocent murder of the unborn. Shockingly‚ that list presently has numerous “religious” related charities that admit to support abortion. Among the organizations listed who support abortion are: Catholic Relief Services‚ Salvation Army which aims to “preach the gospel of Jesus Christ” and the YMCA and YMCA which work “to put Christian principles into practice.” Though those organizations have missions that claim to aim to further the Gospel‚ other‚ non-religious organizations also support abortion. God forbid we endorse these places who blatantly defend the innocent murder of the unborn. This is a season celebrating how the unplanned pregnancy of Jesus’ saved the world and in the spirit of giving‚ we should know with confidence which organizations actually honor that story and defend life. The Daily Signal reported that Judie Brown‚ American Life League President‚ set up the watchlist “to hold nonprofit organizations to account for the positions they take‚ especially when it comes to their positions on respect for life‚ fertility‚ the nuclear family and the aging.” The watchlist is split into three colors. Green represents “an organization to be pro-life if it is opposed to abortion‚ human embryonic stem cell and/or aborted fetal body parts research‚ all forms of cloning‚ and other attacks against the human person at any stage of development‚ as well as Planned Parenthood Federation and other pro-abortion organizations.” The American Heart Association and Water.org are categorized in the green section. A red rating indicates that the organization should not receive donations as it supports “offenses to life” and Yellow represents organizations who were previously red or green but changed positions‚ some of which appear more pro-abort. The Christian organizations listed above are rated in the red as they clearly support abortion. As Brown indicated to The Daily Signal‚ “Some of these organizations support things that oftentimes the public is unaware of. These organizations don’t want these things exposed for what they really are‚ because the ugly truth is that these programs fund death and people don’t want to place their money behind that.” You can use this watchlist as a check to make sure the organizations you donate to are ones that align with your values this holiday season. 

The Atlantic’s Tim Alberta took his book tour to the Tuesday edition of CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip where he warned that Evangelical Christians who support Donald Trump are not that different than Vladimir Putin. Phillip began by reading a quote from Cal Thomas‚ “You kind of touched on this in your book. You talk about Cal Thomas‚ who plays a pretty important role in the rise of modern evangelicalism. And he said this to you about evangelical Christians. He says‚ ‘you can't have a legitimate conversation with these people who are all in on Trump‚ because if you find any flaw in him‚ even flaws that are demonstrable‚ they either excuse it or attack you.’”     It should be noted Thomas does not have a problem with Evangelicals supporting Trump‚ he has a problem with people thinking Christianity and supporting Trump are the same thing. Alberta goes beyond that. For instance‚ Alberta condemns Evangelicals for not embracing gun control and allegedly not caring about poor people while voting for Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin which is‚ ironically‚ doing the same thing he accuses conservative Evangelicals of doing: confusing his own policy preferences for Christianity.  As for his repose to Phillip‚ Albert proclaimed‚ “Well‚ especially‚ Abby‚ yes‚ I mean‚ it makes me worry‚ and I think especially when you take the elements of authoritarianism‚ but then you inject the religious zealotry and the religious justification‚ not from Trump himself but from this base of conservative‚ right-wing‚ white evangelicals‚ whom he has cultivated over the past eight years.” When it came time to provide an example of what this might look like‚ Alberta reached for the Putin card‚ “And these are folks who‚ if you look at January 6th‚ some of the religious imagery around the siege of the Capitol‚ if you look at the language he deploys when he's in front of explicitly evangelical audiences talking about giving back power to Christianity‚ wanting to sort of take on Christianity's enemies in the culture‚ I mean‚ this is loaded language. And you don't have to look far to see just overseas in Ukraine‚ Russia's invasion was loaded with this sort of religious‚ identitarian rhetoric‚ and Trump‚ in some ways‚ is borrowing from that same playbook. So‚ it's very worrisome.” Only Tim Alberta could think voting for the candidate who will enact conservative policies about abortion or transgenderism is analogous to invading another country. Police have a suspect in custody following a string of brutal attacks that left six dead and two police officers wounded Tuesday in Texas. Interim Austin Police Chief Robin Henderson indicated Tuesday night that it was unclear until the last incident occurred that the attacks were connected. "We strongly believe one suspect is responsible for all of the incidents‚" said Henderson. Although the investigation is in the early stages‚ officials believe the same man is responsible for four slayings in Austin and another two in San Antonio. According to the Travis County Sheriff's Office‚ the Austin Police Department booked 34-year-old Shane James into the Travis County Jail early Wednesday morning. James was charged with capital murder of multiple persons and with various unstated out-of-county misdemeanors. Henderson indicated that James was also booked for an outstanding assault with injury/family violence warrant and that further charges are pending. Around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday‚ an Austin Independent School District police officer was shot in the leg in a parking lot at Northeast Early College High School in east Austin‚ said Henderson. Austin School District Police Chief Wayne Sneed indicated the sergeant who had been hit radioed around 10:40 a.m. that he was taking gunfire. Sneed said the sergeant is in stable condition. The high school went into lockdown for several hours until given the all-clear. Before it was understood that the shooter was only getting started‚ Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said in a statement‚ "Our hearts are with the family and loved ones of the Austin ISD police officer who was shot near Northeast Early College High School today. ... The State of Texas is offering all available resources to local law enforcement partners who are working to ensure this dangerous criminal is caught and brought to justice." Around noon‚ police responded to reports of gunshots at a home in the 7300 block of Shadywood Drive. One victim was pronounced dead on the scene‚ and the other later died at hospital‚ said Henderson. A source told KTBC-TV that the noontime slayings involved a handyman and a female witness. According to the source‚ the suspect shot a handyman who had been sitting in his car outside a home through the passenger window. A woman inside the home came out to investigate the source of the commotion. Upon seeing what had just taken place‚ she apparently took off running‚ but the suspect overtook her and gunned her down‚ said the source. The suspect then allegedly returned to the handyman's vehicle‚ dumped his corpse on the road‚ and drove off in the stolen vehicle. The suspect allegedly resumed his rampage just before 5 p.m.‚ shooting a male cyclist on W. Slaughter Lane and leaving him with non-life-threatening injuries. Two hours later‚ police responded to a call of a burglary in progress at a home on Austral Loop in the Circle C neighborhood‚ where they later found two dead victims. According to Henderson‚ at the scene of the double homicide and burglary‚ police spotted a man lurking in the back yard. The suspect immediately opened fire at police‚ and an officer responded in kind. The officer‚ a 12-year veteran of the Austin Police Department‚ was struck multiple times in the exchange but is reportedly in stable condition. The suspect‚ unscathed in the gunfight‚ fled the scene in a vehicle‚ and police gave chase. Following a 15-minute high-speed chase‚ the suspect crashed the vehicle around 7:14 p.m. at the intersection of South Highway 45 and FM1826 and was apprehended. — (@) Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar told reporters that the suspect may be linked to a double homicide in San Antonio. A couple in their 50s were found stuffed into the bedroom of a house that Salazar indicated James has an unspecified connection to. "No one deserves to die the way they did‚" said Salazar.
