New Jersey Proposes a Vaccine Registry No One Asked For

by Ken Macon, Reclaim The Net: A pandemic-era workaround inches closer to permanence, swapping consent for convenience in the name of public health. New Jersey lawmakers are advancing a bill that would automatically enroll anyone who receives a vaccine into a statewide digital database, eliminating the current requirement for consent and igniting a broader conversation […]

BREAKING: Rep. McIver INDICTED On Three Federal Charges For Attacking ICE Agents — Faces 17 Years in PRISON

This just in: the Democrat Congresswoman who assaulted ICE agents at a detention facility in New Jersey has just been formally indicted. Rep. LaMonica McIver now faces a sentence of up to 17 years in prison for forcibly impeding and interfering with federal law enforcement. This is what justice and accountability looks like. BREAKING: Democrat Rep. LaMonica McIver has been indicted with three federal charges for forcibly impeding and interfering with federal law enforcement officers at an ICE facility in Newark, NJ. She is facing 17 years in prison. Justice. https://t.co/mlOBtsFPRs pic.twitter.com/2gSPPiyoGO — Benny Johnson (@bennyjohnson) June 10, 2025 Truly, no one is above the law. U.S. Attorney Alina Habba stated: Today a federal grand jury seated in Newark, New Jersey returned a three-count indictment charging U.S. Representative LaMonica McIver with forcibly impeding and interfering with federal law enforcement officers. This indictment has a maximum penalty of 8 years for Count One, an additional maximum penalty of 8 years for Count Two, and a maximum penalty of 1 year in prison for Count Three.   As I have stated in the past, it is my Constitutional obligation as the Chief Federal Law Enforcement Officer for New Jersey to ensure that our federal partners are protected when executing their duties.  While people are free to express their views for or against particular policies, they must not do so in a manner that endangers law enforcement and the communities those officers serve.   Today’s decision by the grand jury is the next step in a process that my Office will pursue to a just end. NBC News has more details on the indictment: McIver and two other New Jersey Democrats were visiting the ICE facility in May to conduct an oversight visit when a protest was taking place. Department of Homeland Security officials arrested Newark Mayor and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ras Baraka that day on trespassing charges, and a DHS spokesperson at the time said the lawmakers had “stormed” the facility. Habba’s office dropped the charges against Baraka last month. McIver said to reporters at the time that she had been “assaulted by multiple ICE agents.” The indictment alleges that McIver interjected during Baraka’s arrest, yelling, “Hell no! Hell no!” and that she “attempted to thwart” the arrest by putting her arms around Baraka. It goes on to say that McIver “slammed her forearm” into one officer and “reached out and tried to restrain” the agent by “forcibly grabbing him.” It further alleges that the congresswoman pushed past a second agent, “using each of her forearms to visibly strike” him. Rep. McIver plans to plead not guilty and is labeling the indictment as “a brazen attempt at political intimidation.” Read her full statement in response to being charged for assaulting ICE agents here: This indictment is no more justified than the original charges. I will not be intimidated. My full statement: pic.twitter.com/C0aZyrnNx8 — Rep. LaMonica McIver (@RepLaMonica) June 10, 2025 The facts of this case will prove I was simply doing my job and will expose these proceedings for what they are: a brazen attempt at political intimidation. This indictment is no more justified than the original charges, and is an effort by Trump’s administration to dodge accountability for the chaos ICE causes and scare me out of doing the work I was elected to do. But it won’t work — I will not be intimidated. The facts are on our side, I will be entering a plea of not guilty, I’m grateful for the support of my community, and I look forward to my day in court. According to Fox News, Rep. McIver’s attorney stated: McIver’s attorney, Paul Fishman, dismissed the case as political in a statement given to Fox News: “This prosecution is political retaliation against a dedicated public servant… We fully expect the Congresswoman’s exoneration.” Uh huh. “Dedicated public servant.” More like dedicated illegal criminal ally… Rep. McIver believes she was “simply doing her job” by attacking ICE agents. No court is going to buy that excuse…not when we have video evidence like this: BREAKING: I have obtained exclusive ICE officer body cam footage clearly showing Democrat Rep. LaMonica McIver verbally and physically assaulting federal agents in New Jersey after illegally entering an ICE detention facility. LaMonica McIver verbally and physically assaulting federal agents in New Jersey after illegally entering an ICE detention facility. In the video you can see indisputable evidence of Congresswoman McIver (in the red jacket) punch, push and hit a federal agent, refusing to follow the ICE officers orders and impeding in a lawful arrest. In the body cam footage you can also watch Rep. McIver verbally threaten to “put hands” on the federal agents. “I touch whoever I want mother fu****!” Rep. McIver then threatens to destroy the ICE officers careers, “You will pay!” before descending into a profanity-laced rampage tirade. All of these actions are flatly illegal under 18 U.S. Code § 111 and carry heavy fines and prison sentences. A spokesperson for Department of Homeland Security has confirmed to me that “there will be more investigations and arrests.” “If you assault a law enforcement officer you will answer to the law.” I have reached out to Speaker Johnson’s Office for an official statement on disciplinary action from the House. What are your thoughts? Should Rep. McIver go to prison for assaulting ICE?

USA Today reported on which five cities these drones will soon come to: Walmart is expanding its drone delivery service to five more major United States cities, the company announced. The retail corporation is set to offer the amenity in parts of Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and Texas, Walmart wrote in a press release. The company already offered drone delivery in Dallas, Texas and Bentonville, Arkansas. Walmart said it has made more than 150,000 drone deliveries since launching the service in 2021. “This expansion underscores Walmart’s commitment to reshaping the future of fast and flexible retail,” the release reads. (@WalmartInc) June 5, 2025 In December of last year, a 72-year-old man was arrested after he shot at a Walmart drone after it flew over his property. Yahoo News had more on the story: A retiree who shot at a Walmart delivery drone to make it “shoo off” has accepted a plea deal after being hit with criminal charges. Dennis Winn, 72, was accused of causing $2,500 of damage after shooting the aircraft outside his home in Lake County, Florida. The former fire captain is said to have believed he was being surveilled by drones and was suspicious of them, a police report states. The elderly man was cleaning his pool when he heard a “whirring noise” and went to retrieve his gun. After blasting the craft, Mr Winn joked to police that he “must be a good shot”. When police informed him of the cost of the damage to the drone, he is also said to have asked them if he could keep it, according to the police report. Bodycam footage from the time of the incident shows the 72-year-old saying: “I fired one round at it. “They say I hit it, so I must be a good shot, or else it’s not that far away. Here’s the body camera footage: Florida man sh**ts at a Walmart delivery drone with a pistol and then jokes with police officers that he “can’t breathe” when they put handcuffs on him. FDA Approves Lab-Grown Salmon

FDA Approves Lab-Grown Salmon

Could future fishy menu items come from a lab instead of the deep blue sea? The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved lab-grown salmon. San Francisco-based cellular agriculture company Wildtype nabbed the FDA’s first-ever approval of cultivated fish. Gold standard lab grown salmon! pic.twitter.com/uNKEZdRpjx — ZeeeMediaOfficial (@zeee_media) June 11, 2025 Curious customers right now can find Wildtype’s lab-grown salmon at one restaurant in Portland, Oregon. “We could think of no better partner to introduce our cultivated salmon than award-winning chef and author, Gregory Gourdet. Weekly service began in late May at his James Beard award-winning Haitian restaurant, Kann in Portland, OR,” Wildtype announced. “Guests are now able to experience Wildtype salmon at Kann on Thursday nights in June, then every day starting in July. Sail on over to Kann’s reservations page now to snag a spot,” it added. Lab-grown salmon is now FDA approved — here’s why this one restaurant is putting it on the menu https://t.co/WJWyoDDq2f pic.twitter.com/knH4u9doVM — New York Post (@nypost) June 11, 2025 From the New York Post: And according to the FDA, they view lab-grown salmon “as safe as comparable foods produced by other methods,” the FDA wrote in its public response letter. The FDA’s only gripe with Wildtype’s cultivated salmon so far is that the company refers to it as ‘cultured salmon cell material’ — which is not “our recommendation of that term as an appropriate common or usual name for declaring the substance in accordance with FDA’s labeling requirements,” the agency said. This interest in lab-grown salmon is due to both wild-caught and farm-raised versions containing levels of mercury. Wild-caught salmon is also susceptible to picking up chemicals in local waters. So, how exactly is lab-grown salmon made? The process can be broken down into three steps: source, grow and harvest. Living cells from Pacific salmon are taken from fish and then placed into cell cultivators that mimic the temperature, pH, and nutrients of a wild fish — allowing the cells to grow, as explained by Wildtype. Once fully matured and harvested, the living “salmon cells” are fused with plant-based ingredients that imitate the texture and appearance of true salmon. “Our saku is sushi-grade and best served raw in dishes like sushi, crudo and ceviche. We made it for world class chefs who seek out the distinct flavor and freshness of raw seafood,” Wildtype writes on its website. The company says its salmon is the “world’s first cultivated seafood.” Land ho! Wildtype is o-fish-ally on the menu Our cultivated salmon is at @kannrestaurant in Portland with Chef @gg30000 Thursdays in June and every night starting in July. Book now and be among the first to try it!Also, FDA More info here:https://t.co/hR5FOynuPB pic.twitter.com/xyJzPT7QpP — Wildtype (@wildtypefoods) June 3, 2025 The Verge reports: Wildtype announced last week that the FDA had sent a letter declaring it had “no questions” about whether the cultivated salmon is “as safe as comparable foods,” the customary final step in the FDA’s approval process for lab-grown animal products. The FDA has sole responsibility for regulating most lab-grown seafood, whereas the task is shared with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for cultivated meat. The FDA’s pre-market safety consultation is voluntary, but is “helpful for marketability,” IP lawyer Dr. Emily Nytko-Lutz, who specializes in biotechnology patents, explained to The Verge. “There are other pathways involving self-affirmation of safety as well as a longer food additive review process, but the FDA’s authorisation with a ‘No Questions’ letter is a middle ground.” Wildtype becomes the fourth company to gain FDA approval for selling cultivated animal products. Upside Foods and Good Meat received the green light to sell cultivated chicken, while Mission Barns got the nod for its cultivated pork fat. Mission Barns still awaits USDA approval.
