Former President Donald Trump holds a lead over President Joe Biden in Georgia, a crucial swing state, just before the two face off in the first presidential debate, a recent poll found. Trump holds a 5-point lead over the Democratic incumbent with the two garnering 43 percent and 38 percent of likely Georgia voters, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution poll found. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. came in third at nine percent, the poll also found, while eight percent said that they were undecided. One percent said that they would not vote, while another one percent said they will vote for Libertarian Chase Oliver, and another one percent said they will vote for a different candidate. The battleground state, which is worth 16 electoral votes, could play a decisive role in the outcome of the 2024 presidential election, which will be held on Tuesday, November 5th. The poll comes just days before Trump and Biden face off in the first presidential debate of the election cycle, which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia this Thursday, June 27th. A series of different polls have recently found that the Democratic incumbent may be faltering in other crucial swing states as well. One May poll from Bloomberg News and the Morning Consult found that Trump was leading Biden in five of the seven swing states and is tied in a sixth. The survey revealed that Trump was up by five points in Arizona, seven points in North Carolina, and two points in Pennsylvania, as well as one point in Wisconsin. It also found that he was up by three points in Georgia, a smaller margin than the five-point gap in the Atlanta-Constitution Journal survey. Meanwhile, an ABC News/Ipsos poll recently found that voters trust Trump to handle the economy, immigration, and crime more than they trust Biden on those same topics. The three issues are set to be some of the top concerns among voters in the presidential election. A wider share of voters also indicated that they approve of Trump’s performance in office compared to Biden’s, one Harvard Harris poll revealed. Biden has performed particularly poorly on his handling of the border and immigration. One poll on behalf of Newsweek by Redfield and Wilton Strategies found that just a meager 20 percent of eligible voters believe that the United States currently has control over its own borders. A different poll, this one performed by Harvard Harris in conjunction with the Center for American Political Studies found that only 36 percent of voters approve of Biden’s handling of immigration, making it the incumbent Democrat’s lowest issue-specific approval rating for the fourth month in a row.

Marvel star Jeremy Renner talked about his career following the near-fatal snow plow accident near his Nevada home — and he admitted he doesn’t have the “fuel” for “challenging” roles. During an interview with Cassavetes, in honor of the romantic film’s 20th anniversary, the director and son of the 94-year-old actress reflected on the character his mom played in his 2004 film — the older version of Allie, a woman with dementia — while Rachel McAdams played the younger one, Entertainment Weekly reported. “I got my mom to play older Allie, and we spent a lot of time talking about Alzheimer’s and wanting to be authentic with it, and now, for the last five years, she’s had Alzheimer’s,” Cassavetes said. “She’s in full dementia,” he added. “And it’s so crazy — we lived it, she acted it, and now it’s on us.” Speaking on the film’s anniversary, Cassavetes also said that he’s proud of the film they made together. More than 400 illegal aliens have been brought into the U.S. through an ISIS-affiliated human smuggling network under President Joe Biden, according to a report. NBC News reported that multiple U.S. officials confirmed that the Department of Homeland Security has identified who the individuals are because they were smuggled in through the Islamic terrorist network. The report said that 150 of the individuals have been arrested, but the whereabouts of more than 50 are unknown as federal law enforcement officials seek to hunt them down and arrest them. The report said that the remaining illegal aliens are spread out over 17 states and that they will likely be arrested soon. The Biden administration sought to take credit for tracking down the illegal aliens, claiming that they were doing so out of “an abundance of caution.” The report said that the illegal aliens crossed the southern border as part of the national security and immigration crisis that Biden caused with his open borders policies. The illegal aliens were all released into the U.S. because there was not information at the time connecting them to terrorism when they were contacted by U.S. Border Patrol. Illegal aliens originating from countries were ISIS operates will rarely ever have information in any kind of database that connects them to terrorism because the countries are usually third world with little-to-no infrastructure to track terrorist suspects. Also, even if the countries had the information, many of them would likely not want to share it with the United States because they view the U.S. as an enemy state.
