Infant dies after being left in car 'for hours'; Daily Mail gushes about her 2 adoptive dads

A baby girl in California died after she was left inside a car "for hours." Despite the tragic circumstances of the girl's untimely death, the Daily Mail, which published the exclusive report about it, showered praise on the gay couple who adopted her.Romer and Jayson De Los Santos are two men from the San Diego area who became legal partners in 2008, just a few months before Proposition 8 passed overwhelmingly and banned same-sex marriage in California until the 2013 Obergefell SCOTUS ruling.'Romer is an avid gardener and grows fruit, vegetables, bonsai trees, and flowers in the backyard and Jayson looks after the animals and collects eggs from the chickens.'Within the last couple of years, the men first adopted a boy. Last November, they filled out a profile on an adoption site, expressing their desire for a baby. "Our hearts and home are open to providing more love to another amazing child," Romer and Jayson wrote in the profile.Their wish was granted just a short five months later when little Diana Sofia was born in Arizona on April 11. The De Los Santoses flew out to Arizona and adopted Diana shortly thereafter.Sadly, barely two months later, little Diana was dead. Just before 12:30 a.m. on June 13, she was found unresponsive inside the De Los Santoses' SUV parked outside their home. Paramedics arrived within minutes and raced Diana to Sharp Grossmont Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.Though outdoor temperatures at the time were just 63 degrees Fahrenheit, the interior of a car can reach temperatures as high as 115 degrees even when it is just 70 degrees outside, the Daily Mail reported. Plus, the body temperature of children rises at significantly higher rates than that of adults. It is unclear who left Diana in the car and for how long, though investigators believe she had been in the car "for hours." No charges have been filed in the case, which remains under investigation. A cause of death has not yet officially been determined."Never leave your child alone in a car even for a second to dash into a store or to run a quick errand," police said, according to the outlet. "Summer routines can shift unexpectedly. Even the best parents can forget a quiet or sleeping child is in the backseat of a car."Though stopping short of calling the De Los Santoses "the best parents," one neighbor did indicate to the Daily Mail that they did seem to care about their children. "They seem like a nice family who wanted to give a couple of kids a good life, it's just a shame it didn't turn out that way," the neighbor said. The Daily Mail certainly seems to view the De Los Santoses as good parents. The outlet fawned over the "adorable photos" the men had posted on social media, showing them "cradling" Diana and introducing her to her brother."Romer is an avid gardener and grows fruit, vegetables, bonsai trees, and flowers in the backyard and Jayson looks after the animals and collects eggs from the chickens," the outlet shared in the article about their deceased daughter."Romer explained [he and Jayson] both came from big families that often had dinners and parties and went on holiday together," the article added. The Daily Mail also claimed that the De Los Santoses have so many animals living in their three-bedroom home that it is "basically a zoo." They even provide temporary homes for foster animals. Jayson, who has purple hair in several photos, is described in the Daily Mail article as a "stay-at-home dad."Despite the glowing account from the Daily Mail, the Publica reported that the speed at which the De Los Santoses had been able to adopt Diana "has raised concerns." The Publica noted that newborns are in high demand for prospective adoptive parents, who often have to wait a year or more before adopting a baby. The Publica also reported that Romer is a former LGBT activist in the area. More than 15 years ago, he began volunteering with San Diego LGBT Pride and eventually rose in the ranks to become co-chair, a position he held for three years. During that time, he bragged that he "doubled the size of the Board of Directors within a year and improved its diversity in age, race, gender, and gender identity," the Publica reported.Like Blaze News? Trump's attorneys argue 'unlawful funding' of special counsel in classified docs case — Jack Smith seeks gag order

United States District Judge Aileen Cannon for the Southern District of Florida heard arguments on Monday from former President Donald Trump's legal team regarding U.S. Special Counsel Jack Smith's appointment to the classified documents case.During the hearing, Trump's attorney Emil Bove accused the special counsel of "unlawful funding" of Smith, Fox News Digital reported. Additionally, the defense claimed that the special counsel effectively has an infinite budget to prosecute Trump.'I don’t appreciate your tone.'Cannon considered a motion on Monday from Trump's team to dismiss the case. Bove claimed that the funding used by Smith's special counsel is not authorized by statute and poses a separation of powers issue.Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Andy McCarthy told Fox News that the defense's arguments that Smith was unlawfully appointed by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland are "very substantial.""Attorney General Garland has said from the beginning that he doesn't supervise Jack Smith," McCarthy stated. "The whole point of appointing Smith was to try to create some distance between President Biden and the Biden administration, including the Biden Justice Department, and the prosecutions of Trump. I've always thought that was a fiction, but the fact of the matter is the Attorney General has said he's not doing the very thing that the special counsel now says he is doing, which is overseeing Smith."The Smith team requested that Cannon modify the conditions of Trump's release by imposing a gag order against the former president. The prosecution cited Trump's comments about the Federal Bureau of Investigation's raid of Mar-a-Lago. Prosecutors argued that Trump's comments on social media could put FBI agents in danger. One of the social media posts read, "Crooked Joe Biden's DOJ, in their Illegal and UnConstitutional Raid of Mar-a-Lago, AUTHORIZED THE FBI TO USE DEADLY (LETHAL) FORCE."Trump's attorney Todd Blanche noted that Trump's accusations were directed not at the FBI but at President Joe Biden. The FBI has stated that its authorization to use force is commonly included in search warrants. During the hearing, Cannon reprimanded prosecutor David Harbach for his tone.“I don’t appreciate your tone,” she said. Cannon told Harbach that she would "appreciate decorum at all times," and added, "If you aren't able to do that, I'm sure one of your colleagues can take up arguing this motion."Cannon also reprimanded Harbach for referencing other gag orders against Trump but not bringing them to court."I didn't mean to be unprofessional. I'm sorry about that," Harbach apologized to Cannon.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Ultra-woke 'Doctor Who' sets record for worst season finale in show's history

Iconic English series "Doctor Who" has broken another record in terms of viewership lows, this time in the form of record-low season finale viewers.A total of 40 seasons have come and gone for "Doctor Who" when combining its original 1963-1989 run with the 2005 reboot up to 2024.The 2024 season finale "Empire of Death" finished with 2.25 million overnight viewers, the least in the show's history. While the first run of the series featured finales that were drawn out over several episodes, neither the average viewership nor the final episode for each of the historic seasons were this low. The BBC program has become a battleground for testing the limits of ideological injection into entertainment, with showrunner Russell T. Davies declaring he was looking to "break barriers" with his content. Davies even openly stated that he wanted to push gender-based beliefs on children."Homophobia and transphobia happens when it's something you've never seen before," he claimed. Davies then stated that children can be educated on the topic easier than adults. "You can temper that reaction and change it if you introduce these images to people happily, and normally, and calmly when they're young."'You know, they might not be the ratings we'd love. We always want higher.'Series star Ncuti Gatwa even told fans not to watch if they didn't agree with the messaging, a suggestion that seemingly worked. After adding gay nightclub scenes, drag queens, and more, episode three of the 2024 season sank to an all-time low 2.04 million overnight viewers. When it seemed to be the lowest the show could go, the record was broken again after episode seven sank to 2.02 million overnight viewers, according to Doctor Who TV.While it is difficult to tell how viewership calculations for the original series were tabulated, traditional ratings systems would suggest they were tabulated through overnight ratings. This is how the new shows are tabulated as well, with digital views also added.Radio Times suggested that the consolidated figures for the woke reboot have hovered around 4 million per episode, while Doctor Who TV has shown an average of 3.71 million total viewers per episode. But even if generously factoring in those numbers, the 2024 season finale would still not outrank any finale from the original run. Davies recently expressed that he has been proud of the show but admitted the ratings have been a bit of a letdown."You know, they might not be the ratings we'd love. We always want higher," he reportedly told RadioTimes, per Screenrant. He went on to say that the show has been wildly successful with those under 30 years old."Episode one, 'Space Babies,' is already up to 5.6 million and counting. So it is getting there. And actually, I was brought back to bring in a younger audience. That's been massively successful," he claimed.Like Blaze News? American Giant partners with Walmart to sell ‘Made in America’ 4th of July themed shirts

Just in time for the 4th of July, Walmart of all places has partnered with American Giant to sell "Made in America" T-shirts. American Giant is a clothing company that produces 100% American-made products and also happens to be one of Glenn Beck’s sponsors. Founded by Bayard Winthrop, the company's products are made with quality materials that are built to withstand the test of time. Further, American Giant creates jobs for Americans in factory towns and cities across the country, thereby boosting communities and our economy. “After about 18 months of work, we are announcing a collaboration with Walmart, bringing some entirely American-made T-shirts to 1,700 Walmart doors all across the country,” he told Glenn. “It’s an important moment, I think, not only for the textiles, but more broadly for American-made to have a major retailer step up with us for this kind of a commitment.” “The American worker — at least in my judgment — is the best worker in the world, and we have allowed our domestic capability to decay over the last 35 years, and thankfully, both parties are waking up to this reality that we’ve gotta do something about it,” Winthrop said. It’s exciting to see a company that believes in the potential of America — and believes in what we’re doing here at Blaze Media — to receive an opportunity like this. “Made-in-America products and clothes have become expensive. I get it,” Glenn acknowledges, adding that sometimes we’re forced to “settle for convenience and cost.” However, this partnership between Walmart and American Giant merges the best of both worlds — clothing that is American-made but still affordable. “MORE OF THIS!” is Glenn’s emphatic response. American Giant is a sponsor of the Glenn Beck radio program and Blaze Media. Catholic hospital system defies church teaching, supports doctors who perform abortions in some cases: Report

A Catholic medical system with hospitals in several states will support physicians who perform abortions in exigent circumstances, a report from WFMJ claims.Bon Secours Mercy Health is a nonprofit Catholic medical system based in Cincinnati, Ohio, with facilities in Ohio, Virginia, South Carolina, and Kentucky. On its website, BSMH claims "to uphold the sacredness of life" as one of its key values regarding human dignity.A 'child may never be killed on the pretext of saving the mother’s life.'Despite this profession, BSMH will not sanction physicians who perform abortions that, in WFMJ's phrasing, "are medically necessary to save the life of a mother." A nebulous statement from Mercy Health seems to confirm that reporting:Our health system, like many other national health systems, spans multiple states and adheres to the applicable laws in each where we operate. While the legislative environment is complex, our Mission compels us to provide compassionate care for all. In emergent patient care situations, when providers and medical teams prioritize patient care and follow hospital policies and medical standards of care in good faith, they can expect the support of Bon Secours Mercy Health [emphasis added]. We adhere to EMTALA requirements and support physician compliance with EMTALA. We also thank our clinicians and medical teams for their ongoing commitment to excellent and compassionate patient care.A spokesperson likewise told WFMJ that Mercy Health "has supported our clinicians' sound medical judgment and decision making since our inception." Becker's Hospital Review claimed that BSMH has never performed an "elective abortion" and will never do so in the future. However, the Catechism of the Catholic Church does not recognize any sort of "medically necessary" exception to the church's abortion ban. Instead, it describes "direct abortion," or any abortion "willed either as an ends or a means," as "gravely contrary to moral law" and "a moral evil." Those who participate in procuring an abortion are excommunicated.A "child may never be killed on the pretext of saving the mother’s life," Rev. E. M. Robinson, O. P., wrote more than 30 years ago in an EWTN article about the topic.CatholicVote claimed that, in providing abortions in some cases, BSMH is "betray[ing] Catholic principles." It also reiterated that abortion "is never morally permissible" under Catholic teaching.Blaze News made multiple attempts to speak with someone at Bon Secours Mercy Health to confirm the news reports about its abortion policy but did not receive a response.Like Blaze News? The state’s new law placing the Ten Commandments in every public-school classroom is constitutional, and may signal the coming end of legal hostility to religion.
