CNN faced backlash this week after it published an article that sought to cast doubt on footage the the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released of weapons that it found inside Al-Shifa hospital after special forces commandos raided the Hamas-controlled hospital. The far-left network suggested that Israel may have “placed” weapons at the scene where they allowed reporters to record what they found. Fox News correspondent Trey “Yingst is shown a bag located behind an MRI machine inside the hospital with two AK-47 guns visible on top of it‚” CNN reported. “However‚ the IDF video filmed earlier shows only one AK-47 gun. It is unclear where the second AK-47 gun came from and why it is not visible in the earlier IDF clip.” “It is possible the weaponry was removed from the scene and replaced prior to the news crews arriving‚” the report added. “However this does not explain why more guns are visible when the press arrive than in the original IDF video.” The IDF slammed CNN’s report‚ saying that more weapons were displayed in the follow up news coverage because “more weaponry and terrorist assets were discovered throughout the day.” “Suggestions that the IDF is manipulating the media are incorrect‚” it added. “We are acting with full transparency whilst maintaining the safety of our troops and operational readiness.” David Harsanri‚ senior editor at The Federalist‚ mocked CNN by posting a photograph of a display that law enforcement officials set up of a major drug bust. The Democratic Party of Oregon (DPO) canceled its budgetary meeting and holiday party for this weekend over a reportedly credible threat of pro-Palestinian protestors. DPO’s State Central Committee planned to meet in person to discuss the 2024-25 budget and hold a holiday party. However‚ DPO Chair Rosa Colquitt said in emails obtained by the Willamette Week that she canceled the events due to a credible threat of pro-Palestinian protestors. “We have received highly credible information that we cannot confidently hold safe and secure in-person DPO events and meetings this weekend‚” said Colquitt. Brad Martin‚ DPO executive director‚ told Willamette Week that they opted to cancel because they couldn’t ensure anyone’s personal and physical safety at the meeting. “The party has always supported the rights of individuals to peacefully protest‚ but we were not confident we could hold these events safely and securely for either DPO participants or protesters‚” said Martin. Local activist and influencer Matilda Bickers shared a flyer outlining the protest‚ encouraging masks to be worn. The flyer declared that there would be “no business as usual” without a cease-fire. The flyer didn’t mention which‚ if any‚ groups were behind the protest. “Democratic Party leadership and the majority of Democratic elected officials are out of touch with their constituents; almost 70 percent of Americans want a cease-fire‚” read the flyer. “Let them know: no votes for any candidate who doesn’t call for a cease-fire!” Despite DPO canceling‚ a local activist by the name of Robin Lanehurst said in a statement that the protest would still be held. This state party’s cancelation comes days after Wednesday’s pro-Palestinian protest at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters in Washington‚ D.C.‚ turned violent. U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) said that a 150-strong mob was “illegally and violently protesting‚” prompting lockdowns at the DNC and House office buildings. In a statement‚ USCP said the rioters blocked off building exits with dumpsters‚ pepper sprayed and punched officers‚ and attempted to pick up their bike rack. Oregon State University (OSU) students planned to protest on Saturday as well‚ at the Benton County Courthouse; they held a protest there last weekend as well‚ and for several weekends before that. Jewish Voice for Peace Seattle (JVPS) announced another protest on Sunday‚ at an undisclosed location near South Lake Union. JVPS instructed protestors to wear all black. Similarly‚ activist groups Samidoun Seattle and Falastiniyat have held protest marches every Saturday in Seattle‚ and pledge to continue doing so until state officials call for a cease-fire and the end of support to Israel. Seattle City Councilwoman Kshama Sawant — who describes herself as “the only socialist” on the council — also called for her followers and protestors to pack the Seattle City Hall during their meeting next Tuesday‚ November 21‚ and demand a cease-fire. Sawant lamented that her fellow Democratic council members didn’t support her resolution in support of Palestinians‚ proposed earlier this month. The resolution not only called for a cease-fire‚ but an end to U.S. funding for the Israeli military and an end to Israeli presence in the land. “By refusing to support the resolution‚ Seattle Democrats chose the side of warmongering and imperialism‚” stated Sawant. On Friday‚ the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) of Portland‚ ANSWER Coalition‚ and Free People PDX held a protest at the Boeing Facility in Gresham.

Four of the eight high school students accused of savagely beating their Las Vegas schoolmate to death have been charged with murder and will be tried as adults. As Blaze News previously reported‚ 17-year-old Jonathan Lewis Jr. was brutally beaten to death on Nov. 7 by fellow classmates in an alley near Rancho High School in North Las Vegas‚ Nevada. Earlier this week‚ the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested eight suspects – all teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17.Four of the teen suspects – ages 16 and 17 – appeared in court for the first time on Friday. The Associated Press reported‚ "The students each face one count of murder but have not been formally charged‚ court records show."According to the New York Post‚ "Dontral Beaver‚ 16; Gianni Robinson‚ 17; and Damien Hernandez‚ 17‚ and Treavion Randolph‚ 16‚ face murder charges in connection to Lewis’ death on Nov. 7."The teenage suspects were being held without bail pending a formal hearing to address their custody status. The suspects are scheduled to return to court next week.WXIN noted that one of the suspects turned 16 on the day of the deadly assault that took the life of Lewis Jr. The other four suspects are awaiting a separate hearing because they are all under the age of 16. "Because the other four teenagers are under the age of 16‚ they will need to go through a certification hearing in Family Court for a judge to determine if they will be tried as adults‚" the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. On Friday‚ a prosecutor said in court that there are still two remaining suspects still at-large.In Nevada‚ teens accused of murder who are age 16 or older are automatically transferred to the adult court system. According to Nevada law‚ suspects as young as 13 years old can be charged with murder or attempted murder. Cell phone video of the disturbing pile-on brawl went viral. The footage shows Lewis being mauled by a group of teenagers. Police homicide Lt. Jason Johansson said investigators suspect that the fight stemmed from a pair of wireless headphones and a vape pen being stolen from a friend of Lewis. Johansson said Lewis was not originally involved in the melee‚ but walked into the alleyway with his friend after school. "As you know‚ the video that has been shared widely on social media ... is very graphic and in my opinion is very void of humanity‚" said Johansson. "What you see in the video though is approximately 10 subjects kicking‚ stomping‚ and punching our victim Jonathan as he's on the ground‚ not defending himself‚ until the point at where he becomes unconscious."The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said race did not play a factor in the death of Lewis‚ and none of the suspects have been charged with any hate crimes.
