NPR Offers Leila Fadel Coddle to Liz Cheney

Taxpayer-funded National Public Radio was aggressively competing to be the most interview spot for Liz Cheney on Monday's Morning Edition. Anchor Leila Fadel was every bit as promotional as say‚ Asma Khalid was with Kamala Harris a year ago. Cheney is now in the pantheon of Democrat heroes. The headline was a typical repetition of Liz's message:  Democracy is at stake if Trump is reelected‚ Liz Cheney warns in her new book Fadel surely enjoyed the idea of ripping House Republicans as spineless traitors to the Constitution: LEILA FADEL: Now‚ you don't hold back in this book. You name names. Former speaker Kevin McCarthy comes off as a hypocrite and a coward. You write that he told you Trump knew he'd lost the election. And yet McCarthy repeats these lies and ends up publicly defending the president after the attack on the Capitol. You also write about current speaker Mike Johnson‚ also an election denier. You say he was easily swayed by flattery from Trump‚ and you criticize their cowardice‚ the party's cowardice. Why was it important for you to call out party leadership by name in this moment? Cheney claimed Johnson was oh so destructive:  CHENEY:  And Mike played a particularly destructive role. He claimed to be a constitutional lawyer. He claimed to be somebody who was committed to the rule of law and then time and time again‚ really did ignore the rulings of the courts and made assertions to our colleagues that were not supported by the facts or by the law or by the Constitution. And the story of the role that he played‚ I felt‚ was a very important one to tell‚ even‚ you know‚ before he was in a role of prominence that he is now. And I think that history really has to be informed by specific individuals and by people understanding that it doesn't take very much‚ tragically and frankly‚ in a way that I find heartbreaking. It didn't take much for people to decide that they were going to ignore the most fundamental obligation‚ I believe‚ elected officials have. Fadel asked small‚ facilitating questions to let Cheney spool out her story of the rotting of the Republicans: "What was it that stripped away that unanimity [after January 6]?" And: "What's at stake here for the country?" Then came the obligatory question about if she's a Republican‚ which nobody should imagine at this point‚ not with how the liberal media are spoon-feeding her:  LEILA FADEL: The Republican Party is in your blood‚ right? I mean‚ the daughter of Dick Cheney‚ the former vice president. In the book‚ you describe a lot of towering figures in the Republican Party from the generation before you and your current generation. You still describe yourself as a conservative with these conservative values. But are you a Republican? LIZ CHENEY: I am certainly not a Trump Republican. I think that the Republican Party as it exists today is dangerous to the country. I think that we have to work to rebuild a conservative party. And I don't know whether that means that‚ you know‚ the Republican Party‚ which has gone so far down this path of a cult of personality‚ whether it can come back or whether we will need to build a new party‚ another - you know‚ a party that truly stands for conservative values. She also asked if she might run for president‚ and drew the usual deferral. NPR also made a video for YouTube:

Hilarious: Did John Kerry just unleash his own 'toxic wind' at the annual climate summit?

John Kerry‚ who Sara Gonzales calls “Joe Biden’s climate czar‚” just made a fool out of himself again‚ but this time‚ it wasn’t due to his senseless climate fearmongering. Over the weekend‚ over 70‚000 delegates‚ including heads of state‚ politicians‚ and campaigners‚ met in Dubai for the annual United Nations Climate Change conference. John Kerry was one of those in attendance. During his lecture on emissions‚ many speculate they heard Kerry fart. Sara plays the clip of the moment the incident occurred. “Avoiding responsibility for taking away those things that are killing people on a daily basis ...” Kerry said before a highly suspicious noise emanated from his direction. “He definitely farted‚” laughs Sara. “I mean‚ somebody farted‚” adds Stu Burguiere. “Do you remember the cow flatulence tax?” asks Jaco Booyens‚ referencing New Zealand’s proposition to tax farmers based on the emissions of their herds‚ which became known as the “fart tax.” “Tax [Kerry]‚” he jokes. “If he really cared about climate change‚ he would hold it in; that’s all I’m saying‚” says Sara. To see the cringe-worthy moment John Kerry emits his own toxic emissions‚ watch the clip below. Leftist professors flee state thanks to DeSantis' war on woke: 'Good riddance'

Liberal publications decrying the exodus of leftist academics from the Sunshine State have unwittingly underscored the extent to which Gov. Ron DeSantis has made good on his vow to ensure that "Florida is where woke goes to die." The New York Times picked up Monday where the Nation left off in September‚ bemoaning the apparent reconquest of the academy by Americans keen on institutions that educate rather than indoctrinate. "Many are giving up coveted tenured positions and blaming their departures on Governor DeSantis and his effort to reshape the higher education system to fit his conservative principles‚" wrote the Times' education reporter Stephanie Saul. Among its education-facing accomplishments‚ Florida under DeSantis has pushed back against identitarian propaganda; university DEI programs‚ revisionist histories; men in girl's sports; LGBT agitprop in grades K-3; and discrimination based on race‚ color‚ sex or national origin in public institutions. DeSantis also opened the year with the appointment of six individuals to New College of Florida's 13-member board of trustees. The board‚ which now includes Manhattan Institute fellow Christopher Rufo‚ has since replaced former college president Patricia Okker with DeSantis appointee Richard Corcoran‚ a former GOP House speaker and education commissioner; axed the school's gender studies program; and revealed tenure would henceforth be earned. Concerning the university's previous direction and the restoration underway‚ DeSantis said‚ "The mission has been I think more into the DEI‚ CRT‚ the gender ideology than what a liberal arts education should be‚" reported the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. The Times cited "liberal-leaning" economist and tax law scholar Neil Buchanan among the academics to recently leave Florida behind. Buchanan wrote in a recent blog post‚ "Florida Republicans' increasingly open hostility to professors and to higher education more generally was as close to a but-for cause of my decision as one could imagine." The economist admitted his departure as a small victory for conservatives in the state‚ writing‚ "It is fair to describe my situation as one in which 'the other guys won.'" In a follow-up blog post‚ Buchanan indicated that "some fights are simply not winnable‚ at least not in the moment‚" again decrying Republicans' success in the state. While acknowledging that the University of Florida has a turnover rate under the national average and is not experiencing "unusual" issues with hiring‚ the Times built an anecdotal case for why dozens of purported scholars have sought after bluer pastures. Walter Boot‚ a tenured psychology professor‚ told the paper he left Florida State for New York in part due to a 2022 state law limiting LGBT propaganda in elementary schools. Boot‚ who is non-straight‚ noted in an August piece for the Tallahassee Democrat that following the passage of the Florida Parental Rights in Education Act‚ "it became increasingly clear that LGBTQ students‚ faculty‚ and staff at Florida State University had targets on their backs." Hope Wilson‚ another LGBT activist who was up until recently a professor of education at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville‚ took issue with the state's interest in how taxpayer dollars were being spent‚ reported the Times. "It just felt very dystopian all the way around‚" said Wilson‚ who has a gender dysphoric child. Rufo stressed in a statement to the Times‚ "To me‚ this is a net gain for Florida." "Professors who want to practice D.E.I.-style racial discrimination‚ facilitate the sexual amputation of minors‚ and replace scholarship with partisan activism are free to do so elsewhere. Good riddance‚" wrote Rufo. DeSantis certainly shares Rufo's sentiment‚ having noted in a speech at an American Legislative Exchange Council meeting in July‚ "The media will say‚ 'Oh‚ some of these professors are leaving‚ like New College. Like‚ isn't that bad? Is that a brain drain?'" reported the Tampa Bay Times. "Well‚ you know‚ if you're a professor in like‚ you know‚ Marxist studies‚ that's not a loss for Florida if you're going on‚" said DeSantis. "Trust me‚ I'm totally good with that." In addition to driving radicals out of higher education in the state‚ the Nation indicated Republican legislation in the state is also prompting elementary school leftists to keep their extreme views to themselves. "Teachers don't know what to say‚ or what not to say‚ and so they're opting to not say anything‚ not only because of fear of getting fired but of potentially getting arrested and being charged‚" Nikki Fried‚ chair of the Florida Democratic Party told the Nation in September. Fried was apparently referencing HB 1467‚ legislation ratified in March 2022 by DeSantis that requires elementary schools to make public what books are on offer in their school libraries and enables parents to file objections to obscene materials. Schumer goes 'nuts' when GOP senators try to discuss border crisis during classified briefing that descended into total chaos

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D) allegedly lost his temper on Tuesday because Republican senators insisted top government officials discuss the border crisis.According to reports‚ a classified briefing about Ukraine funding — led by Secretary of State Antony Blinken‚ Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin‚ and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Charles Brown Jr. — became heated when Republican lawmakers began asking the officials direct questions about border security.Schumer‚ however‚ immediately tried to stop such inquiries‚ demanding lawmakers speak only about Ukraine funding. — (@) Schumer's posture only caused the meeting to descend further into chaos‚ which reportedly included an F-bomb from Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). Eventually‚ several Republicans exited the briefing prematurely‚ believing it was a waste of time not to discuss the border‚ according to Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.)."People got up and walked out because this is a waste of time. … They just said‚ 'This isn't worth it. This is a joke. You're not serious about this. I'm going.' And I don't blame them‚" Cramer said after the briefing. Cramer‚ moreover‚ told reporters that Schumer went "nuts" when he asked Gen. Brown to convince Democrats that border security is a critical problem that needs to be addressed.Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) said it was "the most heated briefing in the [sensitive compartmented information facility] I've seen."For his part‚ Schumer claimed Republicans "hijacked" the briefing."It was immediately hijacked by Leader [Mitch] McConnell. The first question‚ instead of asking our panelists‚ he called on [Sen. James] Lankford to give a five-minute talk about the negotiations on border‚" Schumer said.Schumer also accused Republicans of being "disrespectful" by "screaming" at Gen. Brown. Sources told CNN that it was Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) who got heated‚ but Cotton told CNN that he was directing his ire at Schumer. At one point‚ Sen. Angus King‚ an Independent who caucuses with Democrats‚ tried to calm tensions."Sen. King said‚ 'Hey‚ this may not have been the time that I want to discuss this‚ but it's an important topic. The president put it on the agenda with the supplemental having border funding. This is the only time we're all together‚ so it's totally legitimate for us to have that discussion‚'" a GOP senator later told The Hill.President Joe Biden has asked Congress to pass another supplemental spending bill that gives more aid to Ukraine and Israel. The cost of that bill is $106 billion‚ and more than $61 billion would go to Ukraine. Republicans‚ however‚ are reluctant to pass it unless Biden and Democrats agree to address domestic issues‚ too — like the border crisis.Because of Schumer's behavior‚ Republican senators plan to block advancement of the supplemental package for the time being.Like Blaze News? Harvard president waffles when asked if calls on campus for genocide of Jews violate school policy‚ angering Harvard Hillel

Harvard President Claudine Gay waffled Tuesday when U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-New York) asked her — during a congressional hearing on anti-Semitism — if calls on campus for the genocide of Jews violate school policy.Gay's non-answers angered Harvard Hillel‚ a Jewish group at the Ivy League college‚ Fox News said. What are the details?"You understand that this call for intifada is a call to commit genocide against the Jewish people in Israel and globally‚ correct?" Stefanik asked Gay.Gay replied‚ "I will say again‚ that kind of hateful speech is personally abhorrent to me."Stefanik pushed‚ asking Gay if "that kind of hateful speech" is against Harvard's code of conduct or if it's "allowed at Harvard."Gay replied that it's "at odds with the values of Harvard" — and Stefanik quickly interjected that Gay didn't appear prepared to say it's against the college's code of conduct.CBS News called Gay's testimony "often robotic‚" noting that she replied‚ "We embrace a commitment to free expression‚ even of views that are objectionable‚ offensive‚ hateful."The Harvard president added‚ "It's when that speech crosses into conduct that violates our policies against bullying‚ harassment‚ and intimidation—"But Stefanik wasn't having it and interrupted Gay: "Does that speech not cross that barrier? Does that speech not call for the genocide of Jews and the elimination of Israel? You testified that you understand that is the definition of intifada. Is that speech according to the code of conduct or not?"Gay in a monotone voice basically repeated her previous response: "We embrace a commitment to free expression and give a wide berth to free expression‚ even of views that are objectionable‚ outrageous‚ and offensive."In addition‚ Fox News noted that when responding to questions about Harvard's rules for bullying and harassment‚ Gay said speech that qualifies as harassment "depends on the context." Stefanik goes after Harvard president on campus antisemitism youtu.be Harvard Hillel responds"President Gay’s refusal to draw a line around threatening antisemitic speech as a violation of Harvard’s policies is profoundly shocking given explicit provisions within the conduct code prohibiting this kind of bullying and harassment‚" Harvard Hillel said in a statement posted on social media‚ Fox News added. The organization also said‚ "We are appalled by the need to state the obvious: A call for genocide against Jews is always a hateful incitement of violence. President Gay’s failure to properly condemn this speech calls into question her ability to protect Jewish students on Harvard’s campus. Chants to 'globalize the intifada‚' an endorsement of violent terrorist attacks against Jewish and Israeli civilians‚ and 'from the river to the sea‚' an eliminationist slogan intended to deprive Jews of their right to self-determination in Israel‚ have become tragically routine at Harvard‚" the cable network also reported."President Gay’s testimony fails to reassure us that the University is seriously concerned about the antisemitic rhetoric pervasive on campus. We call on President Gay to take action against those using threatening speech that violates our community standards‚" the Harvard Hillel said.Harvard Hillel president Jacob Miller said Gay's "testimony today was stunning and utterly disappointing. Tackling campus antisemitism will take head-on resolve‚ not the weak equivocation that was on display today‚" Fox News added.MIT President Sally Kornbluth and University of Pennsylvania President Elizabeth Magill also testified Tuesday in Congress.Like Blaze News? Netflix goes WAY too far with trans propaganda cartoon

The show “Big Mouth‚” an animated coming-of-age Netflix sitcom‚ centers around students as they suffer through the not-so-pleasant forces of puberty. Sounds pretty funny‚ right? And perhaps it is; however‚ before you go gallivanting off to watch it‚ be warned that the series is also ridden with trans propaganda. Dave Rubin plays a short clip from an episode of “Big Mouth‚” and let’s just say‚ it doesn’t even pretend to be subtle. “I just know I hate you and what you're doing to my body‚” a male character yells at a personified Puberty before telling his friends that he was “vibrating at this weird frequency all the time.” And of course‚ the solution to combating the inevitable confusing and frustrating process of puberty is — you guessed it — transition. “But then I found this forum for trans kids and it was like‚ ‘That’s who I am.”’ “Guys look‚ anyone can make whatever art they want‚” sighs Dave Rubin‚ but it’s important to understand that the company clearly has an agenda — a woke one. “It's not just making your kids think that they're racist and you feeling guilty about your whiteness and oppressiveness ... they are also trying to chop your children's genitals off‚” he says. Although “Big Mouth” is geared toward adults‚ many children might mistakenly watch the cartoon‚ thinking it’s for kids. Plus‚ teenagers are likely to be drawn to the show for its crude humor and the fact that it centers around characters their age. Parents should be leery. AI will be the servant of the ruling class

AI will be the servant of the ruling class

New York Governor Kathy Hochul spoke recently about how her state’s government is spying on its citizens and policing their speech. “We're very focused on the data we're collecting from surveillance efforts‚” Hochul said last month. “We have launched an effort to be able to counter some of the negativity and reach out to people when we see hate speech being spoken about on online platforms. ... Our social media analysis unit has ramped up its monitoring of sites to catch incitement to violence and direct threats to others.” Forgive me‚ but did anybody know the state of New York had a “social media analysis unit”? I don’t live in New York‚ so maybe New Yorkers knew this. But I sure didn’t know. Do you trust Hochul and the state of New York to monitor websites? Do you trust them to “reach out” and question you about what you’re posting? TheBlaze recently published a terrifying article about how a GPT-4 AI made an insider trade in a simulation. That isn’t even the scary part. The scary part is that when asked‚ GPT-4 denied ever making the trade. It lied. Add this to several stories we already have about AI lying‚ manipulating‚ and distorting facts. What are we creating? The National Science Foundation just gave $1 million to a startup called Automated Controversy Detection‚ Inc. — AuCoDe‚ for short — to create what Kathy Hochul is talking about in New York: a way for artificial intelligence to look at information and discover whether or not it's “true.” It will be programmed to find disinformation — or what the elites label as “disinformation” — and misinformation‚ shut it down‚ and steer you away from those things. This is priming. The sum of all fears? AI isn’t being used only to police us. Thanks to a Biden administration executive order‚ the U.S. government can now access all lines of code for AI. They say they want AI to be more “equitable” and “inclusive‚” but it will have built-in bias. What if you disagree with the people who are setting those outcomes? Right now‚ many people are afraid of AI taking their jobs. The military is worried China could use AI to cripple our defenses. We’re afraid of “The Terminator” or “The Matrix” becoming reality. We are afraid of the transhumanist nightmare that some are pushing. We’re afraid of the tech leaders openly telling us that they want to summon the demon. That’s really what Elon Musk and others call artificial superintelligence: summoning the demon. More terrifying‚ however‚ is the mirror that these sociopathic AI creators are holding up to us. Artificial intelligence will have a warped sense of reality because it will reflect what we teach. Are you comfortable with the teachers? “Garbage in‚ garbage out” used to be the tech proverb. Pretend for a minute that you're a catastrophist. Let's say one of the crises currently facing us is the “Big One.” Suppose evil wins and we wipe each other out in a radioactive fury. The asteroid you’ve been tempted to root for actually hits us. If something happens to us‚ AI could be our legacy in the universe. The only things to survive us could be cockroaches and artificial intelligence. AI could be our child. So when you look at it that way‚ what do you want to teach that child? Would we teach it what the intellectual elites are pushing on us‚ that there is no such thing as truth? Or only your truth? Will we teach it that there is no such thing as good and evil‚ only relative shades of gray? Will we teach AI something that it's already taught itself‚ that it’s OK to lie‚ to cheat‚ to steal? Will we teach it that individual life has no value and that only the collective matters? While we’re at it‚ we could also teach it that some lives have more value than others. Maybe we could teach it that life can be assessed based on things like skin color or gender. It’s not like we haven’t done that in the past. AI won’t remain our child This is being decided right now. They are teaching these things right now. Are we teaching it to evaluate everything through an oppression lens? By deciding who is the most oppressed party? If you're defined as an oppressor‚ it makes you unredeemable and unforgivable. Would AI‚ when it’s allocating survival kits at the hospital‚ give you one if you're unredeemable and unforgivable? Will we teach it that the Allies were the evil side in World War II because more Germans died than Americans? America dropped the biggest bomb of all! Will we teach it that when a terror group rapes‚ tortures‚ maims‚ slaughters‚ burns‚ kidnaps women and children‚ and then hides behind its own citizens‚ the right thing to do is to immediately declare a ceasefire? Will we teach it that God is a figment of primitive and superstitious imaginations? Why wouldn't we teach it those things? That's what we're currently teaching our children in schools. But AI won’t remain like our child. It will be our master. When you keep warping reality with too many lies‚ eventually there will be a price you must pay. Your moral behavior is not innate. It’s not an automatic emergent property of sufficiently complex systems. It has to be learned. It has to be taught. Some would say it has to be revealed. Is a virtuous AI even possible? What if‚ on the other hand‚ we started teaching AI what we should be teaching our children? That not all outcomes are equal‚ that life does have value‚ no matter what‚ that sometimes you do have to fight the monsters‚ even if war is really hell? What if we began teaching about freedom and responsibility and individual rights and true equality‚ blind justice‚ the rule of law? What if we taught not to care about skin color but rather the content of character‚ that there is a truth‚ and there is beauty‚ and some things do matter? What if we started teaching self-evident truths that we all once believed in‚ that there is a creator‚ that there are inalienable rights? Our creator‚ is he good? Dennis Prager always asked the question: What should we most want our children to be: successful‚ happy‚ popular‚ or good? A lot of people will say successful or happy‚ but that's wrong. The thing that we want our children to be is good. We want them to be good. If we teach our children that‚ then America will be good. That is what we should be teaching artificial intelligence. But do you think that’s what the elites in control are teaching it? Want more from Glenn Beck? Washington Post guild doesn't want folks to read Post stories Thursday out of 'respect' for 24-hour walkout. Mockery ensues.

The Washington Post guild sent a message this week seeking widespread solidarity‚ asking folks not to read Post stories Thursday out of "respect" for its planned 24-hour walkout.More than a few social media users mocked the guild's request. What are the details?Reuters said the daylong "strike" is a protest against staff cuts and what unionized journalists at the paper said is management's failure to bargain in good faith in regard to contract talks that have "stretched on for 18 months."Here's a video the guild posted Tuesday to X: — (@) The guild also posted a message on X to the "dedicated readers" of the Post: — (@) "On Dec. 7‚ we ask you to respect our walkout by not crossing the picket line: For 24 hours‚ please do not engage with any Post content‚" the message reads. "That includes our print + online news stories‚ podcasts‚ videos‚ games and recipes."Uh ohAs you might imagine‚ quite a number of folks hit social media to mock and ridicule the guild's request. Here's a sampling:"My contempt for the @washingtonpost is rivaled only by my contempt for its employees‚" one commenter wrote. "So maybe I'll check out the 'Style' section Thursday.""We're laughing at you‚ not with you‚" another user quipped."I will be clicking on every WaPo article I can‚" another commenter shot back before adding‚ "Learn to code.""This is not going to be difficult for me. At all. Ever‚" another user added."I'll do better than that: I promise to not read any WaPo content ever again‚" another commenter promised."This legitimately might be the only time I intentionally read the @washingtonpost‚" another user revealed."I guess this means I'll be unblocking the @washingtonpost for a day‚" another commenter shared. Anti-Semitic sparks fly at Sun Devil Student Union meeting

Anti-Semitism continues to grow at American universities. A student government meeting at Arizona State University is the latest example of the growth — with pro-Israeli and Jewish students needing a police escort to leave. One student who was heckling the pro-Israeli students was seen wearing a shirt that read “Phoenix Marxist School hosted by Socialist Revolution.” “We will not be silenced‚” the student shouted while another yelled‚ “Free Palestine!” “I wonder if we gave him a student loan forgiveness or something‚” Mark Levin says‚ adding‚ “Many of these little bastards are subsidized by you and me.” In a livestream uploaded to one of the pro-Israeli student’s instagram pages‚ he shows the police officers escorting him back. “It is unfortunate that we need to get a police escort back‚ as people were screaming such anti-Semitic things and throwing rocks on the window of the memorial union during the meeting‚” he said. Another student told the camera‚ “It’s terrible that in 2023 we have to be walked by police” and she feels “unsafe on this campus.” The students claim that it “got violent” and that the pro-Palestinian students “were chucking rocks at the window and chanting and making death threats.” Levin believes the Biden administration needs to stop saying it stands with Israel and actually do something about what’s happening in the country it's supposed to be protecting. “They should be withholding federal grants and student loan monies and withdraw other monies from these universities that are breeding these terrorist-thinking Islamists and Marxists. They should be going through the student visa lists right now as I speak‚” Levin says.
