Security Guard Can’t Help But Sing Along With Luke Combs During Headlining Bonnaroo Performance

That song’s a banger so I get it. Bonnaroo kicked off last night, and based on my TikTok algorithm I would guess that approximately everybody in Middle Tennessee is down in Manchester for the four-day festival. I’ll admit I’ve never been to Bonnaroo, and it’s never really appealed to me, but they always have solid lineups with artists from across the musical spectrum so it seems like there’s a little something for everybody. Even, apparently, the security guards. Luke Combs headlined the opening night of the festival, delivering a 2-hour set that featured guest appearances from Miranda Lambert and Marcus King. And it seems like the crowd enjoyed it…and so did the folks working hard to keep everybody safe. Video shows one particular security guard who couldn’t help but sing along to “Where The Wild Things Are,” Luke’s 2023 single from his fourth studio album Gettin’ Old. And I get it. I would say this one’s up there with one of my favorite Luke Combs songs that he’s ever released. I’m a sucker for good storytelling in country music, and “Where The Wild Things Are” perfectly captures the energy of watching a family member moving off to chase their own dreams, living hard and fast before tragically being taken by the same lifestyle that brought them so much joy to begin with. @bonnaroo We Luke #bonnaroo #lukecombs ♬ original sound – bonnaroo But apparently this guy is a real Luke Combs fan, because that wasn’t the only song he was caught singing along with: @festiverse Security at @Luke Combs @bonnaroo singing his favorite song Beautiful Crazy #bonnaroo #bonnaroo2025 #roo ♬ original sound – Festiverse Respect. I always love seeing videos of security enjoying themselves at concerts, because I want to think that these are people who wanted to go to the show for the music but decided to apply to be security so they could get in for free and get paid to watch the concert at the same time. Then again, we recently saw an example of a security guard who had no interest in being at the show – or doing his job. Brantley Gilbert wasn’t happy with a security guard at a recent show, after he just stood there and failed to help out when a woman passed out in the crowd. It all went down during Brantley’s show last weekend at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino in Cherokee, North Carolina. A woman apparently suffered a medical emergency while Brantley was performing “Son of the Dirty South,” and without missing a beat he directed security and medical personnel to assist while asking the crowd to make room to help her out. But he also noticed that one security guard didn’t exactly spring into action. After the woman was taking care of, Brantley walked over to the side of the stage and threw his hands up at the security guard, asking what the deal was and why he didn’t help. And after the song was over, he decided to address it with the guy personally, walking off the stage and confronting the security guard for just standing there and not helping clear the crowd out of the way – or doing anything. Once he got back on stage, Brantley had some strong words for the guy: “Hey dawg, let me explain something to you. I hate to embarrass you, but it don’t do you no good to stand here with a uniform on if you ain’t going to do sh-t. Go on somewhere. Bye.” Brantley checked with the crowd to make sure everybody was good, shaking his head at the security guard, before once again expressing his disappointment: “Got 10,000 people in security shirts and just gonna f—in’ stand there.” @brookec625 Brantley Gilbert stopping mid song for a women passed out, and then cusses the security guard of the casino #brantleygilbert #concerts #tattoos ♬ original sound – Brooke Davis I guess they can’t all love their job like the guy at Bonnaroo. The post Security Guard Can’t Help But Sing Along With Luke Combs During Headlining Bonnaroo Performance first appeared on Whiskey Riff.

Luke Combs Brings Out Miranda Lambert For Surprise Performance Of “Outrunnin’ Your Memory” At Bonnaroo

The best surprise ever. Last night, Luke Combs headlined Bonnaroo Music Festival, where he brought out a very special surprise guest in Mrs. Miranda Lambert to sing their duet “Outrunnin’ Your Memory,” which was included on his 2022 third career studio record Growin’ Up. The pair wrote it alongside Dan Isbell, and Luke told Billboard that they were inspired by the general idea of “when it rains in Seattle”: “When me and Miranda were tossing song ideas back in forth, I ended up on this ‘When it rains in Seattle thing,’ and she was like, ‘I love that idea.’” Then, when it came time to actually record the song in-studio, Luke knew they had no other option but to get Miranda in on the vocals, too: “When we were going in the studio, I was like, ‘I gotta cut this song. It was never like, ‘Man, it’s gonna be this duet, and we’re gonna do this.’ It was like, ‘We gotta have her on this song, right? It’s too good, and she’s too good, not to do it.’” It’s a good old fashioned country breakup tune, where both parties find themselves unable to move on, as they hit the bars and go out in search of respite from the pain, only to be reminded of their ex by almost everything they see. Of course, I love the George Strait reference on the opening hook, as they each come to the realization throughout the song that no matter what they do, the memory of the love they once shared is always there: “You’d love this bar I stumbled on They play George Strait and they pour their doubles strong I’ve been gone for two weeks now There’s some missing you in every little town Ain’t sure what I thought I’d find riding these yellow lines Outrunnin’ your memory is like outrunnin’ the wind I can’t get where I’m going if I can’t leave where you’ve been I see you in every sunset, every star in the sky I hear you callin’ my name in the middle of the night The longer gone I get on down the road Reminds me, baby, that there just ain’t no” The crowd went wild when Miranda walked out, and I think I would’ve had the same reaction as this girl if I was there in person too… to my knowledge, it’s the first time they’ve ever performed it live together, which makes it all the more special: @festiverse Miranda Lambert is the special guest at Luke Comb’s headlining set @bonnaroo @Luke Combs @Miranda Lambert #bonnaroo #bonnaroo2025 ♬ original sound – Festiverse In addition to Luke, The Red Clay Strays, Marcus King, Treaty Oak Revival, Jessie Murph, Flatland Cavalry and Alexandra Kay will represent country music across different days, in addition to plenty of other acts from a range of genres. But I don’t know how they’re going to top this: Miranda also treated the crowd to a little bit of her hit “Kerosene,” and yes, I’ll admit I’m jealous of everyone who got to see this entire set live in person: @gabydeimeke such a fun surprise at @bonnaroo day 1! @Luke Combs brought out @Miranda Lambert ♬ original sound – gaby deimeke concert photog We need more from Miranda and Luke together… this is just too good: “Outrunnin’ Your Memory” Luke’s “Why” collaborator, Jon Bellion” also joined him as a surprise guest. In addition to their new duet, they performed Jon and Illenium ‘s 2019 hit “Good Things Fall Apart.” @tinsleysarrett Luke Combs singing Good Things Fall Apart with Jon Bellion was not on my 2025 bingo card #festival #bonnaroo #bonnaroo2025 #roo ♬ original sound – Tinsley Sarrett The post Luke Combs Brings Out Miranda Lambert For Surprise Performance Of “Outrunnin’ Your Memory” At Bonnaroo first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
