Pixar Would Like to Introduce Your New Favorite Gatto

News Gatto Pixar Would Like to Introduce Your New Favorite Gatto He better have at LEAST nine lives. By Molly Templeton | Published on June 13, 2025 Image: Pixar Comment 0 Share New Share Image: Pixar Black cats are so in right now. Or, you know, at all times (at least that’s what mine would tell you). Slinking along on the heels of last year’s Oscar-winning Flow comes Gatto, the next original film from Pixar, which the company just announced at the Annecy animation festival. Gatto comes from director Enrico Casarosa and producer Andrea Warren, who worked together for 2021’s Luca. Variety says of the duo’s next collaboration: This new Pixar film returns to Italy, Casarosa’s birth country, this time to Venice, where, after years of maneuvering the sea-side, extraordinary city, a black cat named Nero begins to question whether he’s lived the right lives.Indebted to a local feline mob boss, Nero finds himself in a quandary and is forced to forge a truly unexpected friendship that may finally lead him to his purpose…. unless the mysterious and dark side of Venice gets the better of him first. I don’t know how I feel about the ideal of a cat mob boss—people are always trying to make cats be sinister when they’re just purring furballs that happen to have razor toes—but the image shared is, well, catnip for cat lovers. Pixar also showed Annecy audiences the first two minutes of Toy Story 5, and confirmed that Joan Cusack will return to voice Jessie. Gatto is due in theaters in the summer of 2027.[end-mark] The post Pixar Would Like to Introduce Your New Favorite Gatto appeared first on Reactor.

2 Republican Rebuttals to Democrat Attacks on ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ Resonate With Americans, Poll Finds

Major provisions in congressional Republicans’ ‘One Big Beautiful Bill‘ resonate with the American people, as do Republican rebuttals to Democrats’ attacks on the bill, a new poll finds. While President Donald Trump and Republicans argue that the bill will prevent the largest tax increase in American history and strengthen Medicaid by removing illegal aliens and limiting abuses of the program, Democrats claim the bill represents a tax cut for the wealthy and a weakening of Medicaid. The poll found that emphasizing the bill’s policies increased support for it. “When the pieces of this legislation are clearly communicated, the public support is there, and we hope the Senate will continue to lead on preventing the largest tax increase in history and getting illegal immigrants off Medicaid so truly deserving Americans can rely on it,” Jonny Hiler, president of America One Policies, the sponsor of the poll, told The Daily Signal. America One Policies, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by supporters of Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., aims to promote American values and culture, free enterprise, and prosperity through security, according to the organization. The nonprofit commissioned the firm GrayHouse to gauge Americans’ support for the bill’s provisions. “Our polling shows voters are broadly aligned with Republicans on the One Big Beautiful Bill,” Landon Wall, managing partner at GrayHouse, told The Daily Signal. “Independents, in particular, support increased border funding and efforts to strengthen Medicaid by cutting waste, fraud, and abuse, often by 30 to 40 points more than Democrats.” “This isn’t a minor gap; it’s a reality check,” Wall added. “Republicans should go on the offense, as Democrats have staked out a position that independents are rejecting.” Inflation and the One Big Beautiful Bill When initially approached on the bill, 40% of poll respondents said they strongly (18%) or somewhat (22%) supported the bill, while 34% said they strongly (9%) or somewhat (25%) opposed it. Another 26% said they “don’t know.” Yet after GrayHouse explained the bill’s provisions, more than half of Americans (54%) said they supported the bill (24% strongly and 30% somewhat), while only 36% said they opposed it (15% somewhat, 21% strongly). GrayHouse report screenshot More respondents agreed that current levels of government spending are “reckless and unsustainable” and “driving inflation” rather than saying that government spending is “necessary to maintain important programs and services that Americans depend on” such that “cutting spending too drastically would hurt people more than it would help.” Most respondents said spending is reckless (58%), while about a third (33%) said it is necessary. Most Republicans (70%) called current spending reckless, as did most independents (58%). Even Democrats proved slightly more likely to say spending is reckless (46%) rather than necessary (45%). GrayHouse asked respondents whether they found an inflation argument in favor of the Big Beautiful Bill convincing. “Democrats’ reckless spending spree created the inflation crisis that made groceries, gas, and housing unaffordable for working families,” GrayHouse said. “The One Big Beautiful Bill Act cuts $1.6 trillion in wasteful spending to get our fiscal house in order and protect America’s economic future.” Most respondents (58%) said this message was very (29%) or somewhat convincing (29%). Only 42% said it was not convincing. A majority of independents found the argument convincing (53%), as did most of those who initially said they were undecided on the bill (59%). GrayHouse report screenshot Rebuttal to Democrats’ Argument The poll found two Republican messages that counter one of the Democrats’ most powerful arguments against the bill. “Democrats say the One Big Beautiful Bill Act causes the largest cut to Medicaid in American history, stripping health care coverage from millions of working families, seniors, and children to pay for massive tax cuts for billionaires and corporations,” GrayHouse said. While 55% of Republicans and 64% of independents found this argument convincing, respondents found two counterarguments more convincing. “This bill encourages able-bodied adults to work, volunteer, or pursue job training rather than remain dependent on government assistance indefinitely,” GrayHouse said. “With 4.8 million able-bodied adults on Medicaid who have the potential to work, this policy helps people built independence and self-sufficiency while ensuring resources go to those who truly need them—children, pregnant mothers, elderly, and disabled Americans.” Most respondents (70%) found this argument very (30%) or somewhat (40%) convincing as a rebuttal to that criticism. Most independents (66%) found the argument convincing, as did the majority (68%) of those who initially said they were undecided on the bill. GrayHouse report screenshot Similarly large majorities found the argument that the bill gets illegal aliens off Medicaid a convincing rebuttal. “Democrats want American taxpayers to fund free health care for illegal immigrants while our own citizens struggle to afford coverage,” GrayHouse said. “Right now, 1.4 million illegal aliens are receiving Medicaid benefits. This bill puts Americans first by ensuring Medicaid serves only citizens and legal residents who deserve these benefits.” Most respondents (66%) found this rebuttal very (33%) or somewhat (33%) convincing. Even Democrats (56%) found this argument convincing, as did independents (54%). Most of those who initially said they were undecided on the bill (67%) said they found the argument convincing. GrayHouse report screenshot GrayHouse surveyed 2,000 Americans between May 29 and June 2. The poll’s margin for error is +/- 3 percentage points. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act passed the House of Representatives in May by a 215-214 vote (House Speaker Mike Johnson said two Republicans intended to vote for it but were indisposed). The Senate is currently debating and amending the bill. It will require a simple majority vote to pass the Senate under budget reconciliation procedures.
