Horrifying Video Shows Hot Air Balloon Accident That Left 8 Dead

A hot air balloon accident in Brazil has claimed the lives of at least eight people. Twenty-one people boarded the balloon on Saturday morning in the city of Praia Grande, according to the governor of Santa Catarina, Jorginho Mello. “21 people on board – 8 fatalities, 13 survivors,” Mello posted to X on Saturday. “Our teams continue to provide all necessary support to families and victims.” “We are all shocked by the accident,” the governor said. “We continue to monitor the situation.” Praia Grande is in southern Santa Catarina, which is a popular tourist destination, the BBC noted. Video of the tragic accident was posted by an aviation news account, showing a fiery crash to the ground. It’s unclear what caused the accident. JD FOSTER: The Senate Should Pass The Recissions Package Quickly

The House acted with remarkable alacrity in passing President Trump’s $9.4 billion recissions package. If he keeps this up, they may have to change Mike Johnson’s title from “Speaker” to “House Magician.” The Senate should capitalize on this big win by moving quickly to pass the bill and send it to the president’s desk. It […]

NBC Platforms Iranian Foreign Minister To Trash Trump's Two Week Window For Deal

President Trump recently announced that he would give Iran two weeks to agree to a diplomatic solution on its nuclear program before considering whether or not to join Israel’s campaign against it. On Friday’s edition of NBC Nightly News, Andrea Mitchell platformed Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to trash the idea. During her pre-recorded segment on the latest developments in the war, Mitchell relayed, “Today, in an exclusive interview, Iran's foreign minister calling on President Trump to demand Israel stop its attacks.”     Araghchi was then shown claiming, “What it needs is only a telephone call from Washington to Tel Aviv. To stop everything.” Mitchell then played several clips of Trump, including one where he responded by claiming, “I think it's very hard to make that request right now. If somebody's winning, it's a little bit harder to do than if somebody's losing, but we’re ready, willing, and able, and we have been speaking to Iran, and we’ll see what happens.” Further along in the report, Mitchell added, “He said he will wait up to two weeks to give diplomacy a chance.” However, Mitchell sought to portray the idea as doomed to fail, “Tonight Iran's foreign minister tells us they won't resume talking to the U.S. until Israel stops attacking them.” Asking Araghchi directly, Mitchell wondered, “Can diplomacy produce a solution in two weeks?” Araghchi tried to put the ball in Trump’s court, “Well, I think it's up to, you know, Americans, the United States, I mean, to show their determination for going for—to negotiate a solution. We have come to the conclusion that negotiations by the U.S. was, in fact, a cover for what Israelis did. So they have perhaps this plan in their mind and just—they just needed negotiations perhaps to cover it up. We don’t know how we can trust them anymore. What they did was, in fact, a betrayal to diplomacy.” At some point, it would be nice if these reporters who are able to secure interviews with Iranian officials asked them why they can’t just simply accept the fact that Israel has a right to exist and it isn’t going anywhere. The truth is Iran has played arsonist in the Middle East for years, but after October 7, it lost control and finally burned itself and now, by appearing to reject Trump's overtures, Iran still refuses to put out the fire. Here is a transcript for the June 20 show: NBC Nightly News with Tom Llamas 6/20/2025 7:03 PM ET ANDREA MITCHELL: Today, in an exclusive interview, Iran's foreign minister calling on President Trump to demand Israel stop its attacks. ABBAS ARAGHCHI: What it needs is only a telephone call from Washington to Tel Aviv. To stop everything. MITCHELL: Tonight President Trump responding, saying Israel is winning. DONALD TRUMP: I think it's very hard to make that request right now. If somebody's winning, it's a little bit harder to do than if somebody's losing, but we’re ready, willing, and able, and we have been speaking to Iran, and we’ll see what happens. MITCHELL: All of it as President Trump again met in the Situation Room as he decides whether to launch a U.S. airstrike on the underground Iranian Fordo nuclear facility. Only the U.S. has the bunker buster bombs capable of destroying it. TRUMP: Within a matter of weeks or certainly within a matter of months, they were going to be able to have a nuclear weapon. We can't let that happen. MITCHELL: He said he will wait up to two weeks to give diplomacy a chance. TRUMP: Just a time to see whether or not people come to their senses. MITCHELL: Tonight Iran's foreign minister tells us they won't resume talking to the U.S. until Israel stops attacking them.  Can diplomacy produce a solution in two weeks? ARAGHCHI: Well, I think it's up to, you know, Americans, the United States, I mean, to show their determination for going for — to negotiate a solution. We have come to the conclusion that negotiations by the U.S. was, in fact, a cover for what Israelis did. So they have perhaps this plan in their mind and just — they just needed negotiations perhaps to cover it up. We don’t know how we can trust them anymore. What they did was, in fact, a betrayal to diplomacy.

Glyphosate 101: What you need to know about America’s most popular pesticide

Glyphosate is a word that’s beginning to slip into public consciousness as the MAHA movement continues gaining momentum. For those unfamiliar with the term, glyphosate is a chemical used in weed killers, like Roundup, which is the most popular herbicide in the United States. Since its development in 1970, we’ve been told it’s safe for humans and the environment by its manufacturers and by several regulatory agencies. But surprise, surprise — now that we’re in an era of being honest about the additives and chemicals involved in our food production, it turns out that glyphosate is carcinogenic. To get the scoop on this harmful chemical, Nicole Shanahan, BlazeTV host of “Back to the People,” invited Harvard-educated agricultural economist Dr. Chuck Benbrook, who’s spent his entire career fighting against the use of pesticides, to the show. “The evidence is strongest linking exposure to glyphosate and glyphosate-based herbicides … with non-Hodgkin lymphoma” — a type of cancer that attacks the lymphatic system, disrupting the body's ability to fight infections, says Dr. Benbrook. However, “there's a new study coming out in just a matter of days linking glyphosate and glyphosate-based herbicides to leukemia.”Glyphosate, he explains, “[disrupts] DNA replication in people's bone marrow as their new blood cells are being formed,” which is exactly how “non-Hodgkin lymphoma and leukemia start.” Despite the mounting evidence proving glyphosate is carcinogenic, farmers are highly motivated to protect it from stricter regulations and potential banning. Chemical pesticides, like glyphosate, are “very seductive for farmers,” as they are “a simple solution to dealing with weeds or insects or plant diseases,” says Dr. Benbrook. Farmers’ “overreliance” on pest and weed killers has created a booming industry that pesticide companies will fiercely guard. Just like vaccine companies gained legal protection from lawsuits for vaccine injuries through the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, “the pesticide industry is working very hard to to try to change federal and state laws so that pesticide companies can't be sued in state court over harms from pesticides,” say Dr. Benbrook. Eating organically produced food seems like a logical option to avoid the harms of glyphosate, as the USDA National Organic Program prohibits the use of synthetic pesticides, including glyphosate, in organic farming.Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. “I'm hearing from a lot of parents who are on all-organic diets [and] eat super clean, and their family members have really high levels of glyphosate coming back in their urine analysis,” says Nicole. “It’s very difficult to avoid glyphosate completely through the American diet,” says Dr. Benbrook, noting that restaurant food, the water supply, and the very air we breathe can be contaminated with glyphosate. It “is so ubiquitous in the environment and in the food supply.” To hear more of Nicole and Dr. Benbrook’s conversation on glyphosate, as well as genetically modified food and sustainable food production, watch the episode above.
