Israel’s Stunning Victory Over Iran—And 2 Big Lies Debunked

This week, Israel finally unleashed its firepower against Iran’s nuclear program in a devastating feat of intelligence work, technological competence and war planning. The Israelis not only caught the Iranian regime flatfooted, but they devastated Iran’s war-making capacity, degrading Iran’s missile launchers by half, its nuclear program by up to 90% and its top military layer almost entirely. All of this was the result of years of meticulous planning. For decades, Iran built up a bevy of terror proxies spanning from Iraq through Syria and Lebanon, into the Gaza Strip and so-called West Bank, and down to Yemen; and it radically increased its ballistic missile capacity. Iran’s proxies killed hundreds of Americans across the region, attempted to destabilize regimes ranging from Saudi Arabia to Jordan, and provided the muscle for Bashar al-Assad in Syria and Hezbollah in Lebanon. And, of course, Iran threatened Israel’s destruction daily, and cursed America—all while building nuclear weapons. Just last week, the International Atomic Energy Agency announced that Iran was in breach of its non-proliferation obligations. According to Israeli intelligence, the Iranians were on the verge of achieving a nuclear break-out that would outpace Israel’s ability to hamper the program—and with Iran’s air defenses gone after battling Israel last year, the window for action was closing. And so, Israel acted. Having spent nearly two years decapitating Iran’s proxies one by one, Israel quickly established an air corridor from Israel to Tehran, using both Mossad agents on the ground and Israeli Air Force assets from the air to thoroughly wreck the Iranian regime’s military and nuclear capacity. All of which is an unfettered good for the West. A nuclear Iran, as President Donald Trump has said for decades, is a threat not just to Israel but to the West. A nuclear-armed Iran could easily take control of vital waterways ranging from the Red Sea to the Strait of Hormuz; it could threaten American allies ranging from Israel to the United Arab Emirates to Jordan to Saudi Arabia while pursuing destabilizing terror uprisings; it could even use a nuclear umbrella, with improved intercontinental ballistic missiles, to threaten Europe or the United States directly if it sought to do so. And the first rule of a rational foreign policy is to take seriously geopolitical enemies when they threaten your destruction openly, every single day. Israel took that threat seriously and acted. And the world is better off. Yet some on the American political right seem disturbed by Israel’s success. Some worry, inaccurately but understandably, that America might be drawn into a broader nation-building operation in Iran — something that Trump certainly will not do and that Israel has not requested. Even if Trump were to authorize a series of strikes on the Iranian underground nuclear facility at Fordow, that would not amount to an Iraq-like nation-building operation; it would far more clearly resemble Trump’s heroic vaporization of Iranian terror-master Qassem Soleimani in 2020. Others bizarrely seem to see Israel as the fountainhead of evil in the world—a perverse moral perspective that turns reality on its head in favor of conspiratorial fantasy. Some of these people hide behind a pseudo-realism that pretends to see an Iranian nuclear capacity as less of a regional threat than strikes on the Iranian nuclear capacity, warning of a World War III, a nuclear holocaust that will somehow emerge from Israel preventing a nuclear Iran. Whatever the purported justification for inaction, Israel—and Trump’s open support for Israel’s operation—has proved such doubters wrong. It turns out that the best way to end the threat of a nuclear Iran is to end the threat of a nuclear Iran. It turns out that peace through strength requires actual strength to achieve peace, and that peace through isolationist weakness ends not in peace but in regional conflagration ongoing for decades. With the destruction of the Iranian nuclear program, two lies die: the lie that only negotiations can end the threat of a rogue state seeking nuclear weapons, and the lie that every conflict must necessarily become Iraq. Both of those lies deserved to die grim deaths. And, like the Iranian nuclear program, both have been obliterated in this show of Western muscle against the radical Iranian regime. Ohio Redistricting Becomes Battleground for House Majority

While no longer a swing state, Ohio is a key battleground for Republicans in their bid to maintain their majority in the House of Representatives. It is one of three states whose congressional districts may change due to litigation before the 2026 midterm elections, according to Ballotpedia, a nonprofit online encyclopedia. The other states are Louisiana and Georgia. In Louisiana the Washington Examiner estimates one Republican seat pickup is possible. In Ohio, Republicans could pick up as many as three additional seats for a total congressional delegation of 13 Republicans and two Democrats.  The state currently has 10 Republicans and five Democrats that make up its representation in the House. Among the delegation are some of the most powerful House Republicans including the current chair of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jim Jordan, and the past chair of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Mike Turner.  While redistricting is typically done every 10 years after the U.S. census mandated by the federal Constitution, Ohio has a state Constitution that stipulates that electoral maps for U.S. representatives in the House are only in effect for four years if they are enacted without significant support from the political party in the minority in the state Legislature. That means that Ohio will be redistricted before the 2026 midterms.  Ohio Democrats Reps. Joyce Beatty and Shontel Brown, both Democrats, are generally seen as staying in safe House districts no matter how the redistricting pans out. That leaves Rep. Greg Landsman, D-Ohio, who represents the Cincinnati area, Rep. Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio, who comes from the Toledo area and Rep. Emelia Sykes, D-Ohio, who hails from a district that includes Akron as prime targets in the GOP’s redistricting efforts.  “It is no surprise national and state Republicans in Columbus are scheming to confuse and handpick voters by gerrymandering Ohio congressional districts again,” David Zavac, a top Kaptur staffer, told Punchbowl News about the Republicans’ redistricting effort.  Sen. Bernie Moreno, a Republican, thinks the GOP will “probably end up” winning two additional seats after the redistricting, creating a delegation of 12 Republicans and three Democrats. Ohio has reached national prominence in recent years when it provided its junior senator, JD Vance, as the vice-presidential candidate for President Donald Trump’s successful 2024 campaign. Additionally, 2024 presidential candidate and tech tycoon Vivek Ramaswamy is currently running to be the Republican candidate in the November 2026 gubernatorial election. Ramaswamy has been endorsed by Trump, Elon Musk, and the Ohio Republican Party’s state central committee. Is Hollywood’s Anti-Trump Blacklist Worse Than We Thought?

Brian Grazer’s Hollywood bona fides speak for themselves. “Splash” “Friday Night Lights” “Apollo 13” “A Beautiful Mind” “Arrested Development” “Parenthood” The producer’s decades-long partnership with Ron Howard alone made him a critical cog in Hollywood’s machinery. Grazer spent those years digging deep for Democratic causes, becoming one of the industry’s highest-profile progressive donors. Until last year.   Brian Grazer Voted for Trump, Admitting It Felt Like "Getting Canceled" https://t.co/OPF29cHu8z — The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) June 6, 2025   The 73-year-old Grazer committed the ultimate sin in La La Land. No, he didn’t cover up for a producer accused of sexual impropriety or back a string of embarrassing flops. He voted for President Donald Trump in 2024. He even shared the revelation on a FOX Nation docuseries – “The Art of the Surge.” For that, he must suffer, according to a shocking report in the liberal Puck News. The feature, written by veteran Hollywood journalist Kim Masters, details the fallout from Grazer’s confession. For the record, the uber-producer said he voted for Trump, in part, due to President Joe Biden’s mental decline. Here’s what he told the far-Left New York Times about his voting decision. “As a centrist, it was because I could feel and see Biden’s deterioration and the lack of direction in the Democratic Party at that time.” Puck News followed up on the fallout from Grazer’s confession. Sources have told me the news that Grazer had, um, flipped came as a blow to Howard, as well as many others, including Tom Hanks…. “When this thing happened, they were beside themselves,” a well-placed source told me. Executives at the company “were getting calls from around town—they’re all mortified.” Another “high-level source” within Hollywood, according to Puck News, described the confession as “problematic for his partner and people in business with him.” The report pins Grazer’s Trump embrace on Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, who in recent months bought a documentary about First Lady Melania Trump for $40 million and donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund. It’s a curious turn of events given recent history. Amazon has had an alarming track record of suppressing Right-leaning content.   FLASHBACK: On February 8, 2021, Amazon stopped streaming documentary, Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words, during Black History Month & refused to stream it that month after being alerted to this. I wrote op-ed about this despicable conduct. https://t.co/eRneQuXWMe — Mark Paoletta (@MarkPaoletta) February 27, 2025   Grazer’s decision couldn’t possibly be connected to President Trump’s policies, the sorry state of the union or the anemic Biden/Harris ticket, according to Puck News. Set aside the journalistic hubris and Grazer’s intentions. It’s the latest example of Hollywood’s intolerance toward anyone who dares support President Trump or simply leans to the Right. Just ask James Woods … or Kevin Sorbo … or countless Republicans who stay mum lest their careers go up in smoke. For every Jon Voight or Sylvester Stallone there are many others who fear the fallout from admitting their conservative beliefs. We’re seeing that in real time. The oh, so tolerant industry shoved Grazer’s history of Democratic support aside, suggesting his career could suffer from his Trump vote. The article predicts stars will keep working for Grazer, but mostly due to the industry’s troubled state. Translation? Work is too precious these days for actors to stand on their so-called principles. Just don’t expect them to be charitable to him on the cocktail circuit. It’s the latest proof that Hollywood’s intolerance is un-American, undignified and out of control.
