GOP Lawmakers Call for Mayorkas Impeachment After Mother Claims His Border Policies ‘Partially Responsible’ for Daughter’s Death

All 18 Republicans of a key House committee support the impeachment and removal of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas‚ an announcement that directly followed a hearing Thursday in which two mothers laid the blame for the deaths of their daughters at the feet of President Joe Biden’s appointee.   “In my humble opinion‚ Mr. Mayorkas’ border policy is partially responsible for my daughter’s death‚” Arizona mother Josephine Dunn told the House Homeland Security Committee. “His wide-open border policy allows massive quantities of poisonous fentanyl into our country.”   "I personally feel Mr. Mayorkas is responsible for opening that border." – Josephine Dunn. pic.twitter.com/aDho7JddXo— House Homeland GOP (@HomelandGOP) January 18‚ 2024 Dunn’s daughter Ashley died in 2021 at age 26 after a drug dealer sold her a pill containing fentanyl.   “We’re losing our children‚” Dunn told the committee. “We’re losing a generation of children. We’re at war. We need our military at the border. That’s what we need. We don’t need more Border Patrol. We need our military at the border stopping the drugs.”   Mother of child killed by fentanyl tells Congress "we're at war with the cartels." "We're losing our children. We're losing a generation of children. We're at war. We need our military at the border." pic.twitter.com/bzmKOrEgWl— Virginia Allen (@Virginia_Allen5) January 18‚ 2024 Mother Tammy Nobles‚ who also testified‚ recounted the tragedy of losing her child in 2022. Less than a week after Kayla Hamilton turned 20‚ her mother testified‚ she was violently killed in her Maryland home by a MS-13 gang member who was an illegal alien. The gang member strangled Hamilton with a phone-charging cord and sexually assaulted her.  “Kayla fought for her life that day‚ and in the end she lost to an individual who wasn’t even supposed to be allowed in the country‚” Nobles said. “For me‚ this is not a political issue. This is a safety issue for everyone living in the United States.”  "For me‚ this is not a political issue. This is a safety issue for everyone living in the United States." – Tammy Nobles pic.twitter.com/L6r625sQ8N— House Homeland GOP (@HomelandGOP) January 18‚ 2024 The two mothers testified at the second hearing advancing impeachment proceedings against Mayorkas‚ which follow the committee’s monthslong investigation of how Biden’s homeland security secretary has responded to the crisis of illegal immigration at the southern border.   After Thursday’s hearing concluded‚ all 18 GOP committee members issued a statement calling for Mayorkas’ impeachment by the House.   “After our nearly yearlong investigation and subsequent impeachment proceedings‚ and having exhausted all other options to hold him accountable‚ it is unmistakably clear to all of us—and to the American people—that Congress must exercise its constitutional duty and impeach Secretary Mayorkas‚” the Republican lawmakers said in the public statement.    The 18 Republicans include Chairman Mark Green of Tennessee; Michael McCaul‚ Tony Gonzales‚ Morgan Luttrell‚ and August Pfluger of Texas; Michael Guest and Mike Ezell of Mississippi; Clay Higgins of Louisiana; Dan Bishop of North Carolina; Carlos Gimenez and Laurel Lee of Florida; Andrew Garbarino‚ Nick LaLota‚ and Anthony D’Esposito of New York; Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia; Dale Strong of Alabama; Josh Brecheen of Oklahoma; and Eli Crane of Arizona.   “The secretary [Mayorkas] has consistently‚ willfully‚ and systemically refused to follow the laws passed by Congress‚ abused his authority‚ and breached the trust of Congress and the American people on numerous occasions‚” the 18 lawmakers said. “The result of his failure to fulfill his oath of office has been a border crisis that is unprecedented in American history—a crisis that has cost the lives of thousands of Secretary Mayorkas’ fellow Americans.”  Green‚ the committee chairman‚ last year launched a five-phase investigation into Mayorkas‚ in which 10 public hearings examined these topics: “DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ Dereliction of Duty.”  “DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas Has Emboldened Cartels‚ Criminals‚ and America’s Enemies.”  “The Devastating Human Costs of the DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ Open-Borders Policies.”  “The Historic Dollar Costs of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ Open-Borders Policies.”  “The Massive Waste and Abuse Enabled by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.”   If the House votes to impeach Mayorkas‚ it is unlikely that two-thirds of the Senate would vote to remove him‚ given Democrats’ control of the upper chamber.   Have an opinion about this article? CBS Offers Press Release to 'Devout Catholic' Biden Pushing Abortion

CBS Offers Press Release to 'Devout Catholic' Biden Pushing Abortion

On Thursday’s CBS Mornings‚ they turned to reporter Caitlin Huey-Burns in New Hampshire for a story recounting the Republican presidential candidates raucously attacking either other – as globalist RINOS or tantrum-throwers‚ take your pick. But then they turned to the Other Party‚ and there were no attacks‚ as if there were no Biden challengers. Instead‚ they reported what amounted to a campaign press release. They couldn’t mention Biden was skipping New Hampshire (like Iowa‚ too white)‚ or that Democrat challengers like Congressman Dean Phillips of Minnesota attack Biden as hostile to democracy. Co-host Gayle King touted “On the Democratic side‚ CBS news has exclusive‚ new details about how President Biden plans to galvanize voters by focusing on the issue of abortion rights.” There wasn’t one word about how Biden’s ardent advocacy of abortion badly clashes with Team Biden’s “devout Catholic with a rosary in his pocket” spin. King said to reporter Nancy Cordes: “You know the feelings are intense on both sides of this topic.” Cordes agreed: CORDES: They sure are‚ but they do drive Democrats to the polls. That's why as the Republicans duke it out in New Hampshire‚ the Biden campaign is switching things up. It had been keeping a pretty low profile‚ but that is about to change. CBS News has learned the president is going to hold his first joint campaign rally with the vice president and their spouses since announcing his bid for re-election. It's taking place on Tuesday in northern Virginia‚ and the focus of that rally will be‚ as you mentioned‚ Gayle‚ reproductive rights. The Biden campaign is also going to launch a new ad this weekend in seven battleground states and we're told the ad will focus on the role that the Republican frontrunner‚ Donald Trump‚ played in eliminating the federal right to an abortion. Now‚ the timing of all this is no accident. This coming Monday would have been the 51st anniversary of the Roe v Wade supreme court decision. Since it was struck down in 2022‚ new abortion restrictions have been imposed in 21 states. Cordes also touted the Democrat position as popular‚ according to a CBS poll from October: A recent CBS News poll shows 57% of Americans believe abortion should be legal in all or most cases. That's why Democratic strategists have been banging the drum. They've been urging the Biden campaign to go big on this issue. It is proven to drive Democratic voters to the polls again and again over the last couple of years‚ and that could be crucial as the campaign looks for ways to boost voter enthusiasm in the lead up to November‚ Gayle. All in all‚ it sounds like a rah-rah call to kill more babies.

New England Patriots' new head coach suggests not being racist requires you to 'see color': 'I do see color'

The new head coach of the New England Patriots suggested on Wednesday that not being racist requires someone to "see color."At a press conference officially introducing Jerod Mayo as the new head coach of the Patriots franchise‚ a reporter asked about the significance that Mayo is the first black head coach of the Patriots.Team owner Robert Kraft responded by describing himself as "really colorblind in terms of ... what I feel like on Sunday when we lose" — referring to his goal of hiring the people he believes will best position the Patriots to win NFL championships — but Mayo admitted that he doesn't feel the same way."I do see color because I believe if you don't see color‚ you can't see racism‚" he said. "Whatever happens — black‚ white‚ disabled person ... for the most part people are like‚ when they're young‚ they kind of make the spot hot. Younger people know what that means. But what I would say is‚ no‚ I want you to be able to go up to those people and really understand those people. It goes back to whatever it is: black‚ white‚ yellow‚ it really doesn't matter‚" he continued."But it does matter so we can try to fix the problem that we all know we have‚" Mayo added without clarifying what "problem" he was referring to. — (@) Whether people should "see color" is hotly debated. Advocates of anti-racism‚ for example‚ argue that seeing color is a prerequisite for racial reconciliation. Advocates of color blindness‚ on the other hand‚ say no one should be pigeonholed because of or reduced to their skin color.Still‚ there is a divergence in perspective even in the small fraternity of NFL head coaches.Tampa Bay Buccaneers Coach Todd Bowles‚ who is also black‚ denounced seeing color in October 2022 when asked about Steve Wilks being named‚ at the time‚ interim head coach of the Carolina Panthers."We don't look at what color we are when we coach against each other. We just know each other‚" Bowles said. "I have a lot of very good white friends that coach in this league as well‚ and I don't think it's a big deal as far as us coaching against each other‚ I think it’s normal. Wilks got an opportunity to do a good job‚ hopefully he does it."And we coach ball‚ we don't look at color‚" he declared.Like Blaze News? A grassroots victory against Wall Street and green tyranny

When Americans come together‚ we can make a difference. The latest example is the work by many Blaze News subscribers in putting pressure to stop the proposed listing of natural asset companies on the New York Stock Exchange. The NYSE had petitioned the Securities and Exchange Commission to allow for the listing of natural asset companies. NACs are a “new” company type concocted by an environmental group. They focus on raising money to buy the rights to manage natural resources. But instead of making those resources more productive‚ the environmentalists behind the NAC scheme wanted to take them out of productive use to protect‚ conserve‚ restore‚ and preserve these natural “assets” based on whatever their own definitions of those activities happen to be. This is a great reminder that we are not helpless if people are willing to take the time to use their free speech. The NAC boosters sought to use the public markets to raise money for this endeavor through New York Stock Exchange listings. This would mean that any money in the public market‚ whether it came from a pension fund or another government’s sovereign wealth fund‚ could fund and effectively control America’s natural resources. NACs threatened our food and water supplies‚ energy development‚ tourism‚ and way of life. But we fought back. With leadership from Utah state Treasurer Marlo Oaks and Glenn Beck‚ who featured this topic extensively on his programs‚ along with Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes‚ who led a total of 25 states in expressing opposition‚ an effective grassroots backlash ensued. I provided a template based on my own comments to the SEC that hundreds of readers contacted me to obtain and send to the SEC and their state representatives. This backlash was swift‚ large‚ and loud. On Wednesday‚ one day before the SEC’s extended comments period expired‚ the NYSE notified the SEC it would withdraw the proposed rule change. This is critically important. These are big‚ powerful organizations‚ and a coordinated‚ grassroots effort made enough impact to stop something horrible from happening. We so often feel helpless‚ but this is a great reminder that we are not helpless if people are willing to take the time to use their free speech. While we take our victory lap — which we should do! — we should note that more work must be done. The NYSE’s decision not to list natural asset companies is a big step. That does not mean‚ however‚ that these companies can’t raise money elsewhere in the private markets. They could still approach sovereign wealth funds‚ pension funds‚ and others to give them money. So our next battle is to send our comments to members of Congress‚ asking them to make NACs illegal. We need them to protect our land and other natural resources from financialization and consolidation by bad actors. Also‚ we need to keep our eyes open because‚ like so many other power-grabs‚ the NAC will likely return at some point‚ perhaps under different branding. Other critical issues require grassroots resistance. Dealing with the border crisis and the illegal invasion of our country must be a top priority. So is fighting the Corporate Transparency Act’s anti-small business “beneficial ownership information” rule and the Department of Labor’s anti-gig work and anti-independent contractor rule that Glenn Beck and I spoke about recently. If you want to join my newsletter so I can provide you with more updates and templates on these issues as we work together to defeat them‚ please do so at CarolRoth.com/News. Take a moment to appreciate that the grassroots efforts worked and that pressuring and shaming elected officials can be done. Then‚ let’s get back to work.

The tables turn: Judge orders Fulton County DA Fani Willis to respond to misconduct allegations‚ orders court date

A Georgia judge has scheduled a hearing to address the misconduct allegations against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D).On Thursday‚ Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee scheduled a Feb. 15 hearing to address the serious allegations of misconduct that surfaced against Willis last week. He ordered Willis to respond to the allegations in writing by Feb. 2Last week‚ Michael Roman‚ one of the co-defendants in the election interference case targeting former President Donald Trump‚ filed a motion to disqualify Willis and to dismiss the case. The filing argues that such action is required because Willis and special prosecutor Nathan Wade "have been engaged in an improper‚ clandestine personal relationship during the pendency of this case‚ which has resulted in the special prosecutor‚ and‚ in turn‚ the district attorney‚ profiting significantly from this prosecution at the expense of the taxpayers." Moreover‚ the filing claims that Willis personally benefited from the "lucrative" contract the DA's office signed with Wade — benefits that include vacations and cruises — and that she was the sole authorizer of that contract.Public records show that Wade has been paid at least $653‚880 to work on the case‚ more than a half-million dollars more than other special prosecutors working the case‚ WXIA-TV reported. While Roman's filing is short on direct evidence‚ it repeatedly cites "sources" close to both Willis and Wade as the basis of the allegations. Roman's attorney‚ Ashleigh Merchant‚ has promised that "concrete evidence" will be presented in court. Some of that evidence‚ she has said‚ is found in Wade's divorce proceedings‚ which were sealed in 2022.Importantly‚ Willis has been subpoenaed to give a pretrial deposition in that divorce case. But she filed a motion on Thursday arguing her testimony is not necessary. In her filing‚ Willis claimed that Joycelyn Wade is "obstructing and interfering with an ongoing criminal prosecution‚" accusing her of having "conspired with interested parties in the criminal election interference case to use the civil discovery process to annoy‚ embarrass and oppress District Attorney Willis." The filing‚ however‚ "did not address the nature of the relationship between Willis and Wade‚" the Atlanta Journal-Constitution observed. For her part‚ Willis attributed the scrutiny of her personal life to racial animus.
