Ian Munsick Claps Back At Fan Annoyed With His Pop Cover Medley: “Remember When I Said This Wasn’t A Country Song?”
Not having it.
During shows these days, artists have fun laying down some covers, whether from other country artists or artists outside of the genre. With the recent death of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, we have seen many Ozzy covers worked into setlists. For example, 49 Winchester laid down a stellar cover of “Changes,” and Ian Munsick put a country spin on “No More Tears,” which worked shockingly well.
However, it’s no surprise that Ian Munsick found a way to work that into his set, as he loves to think outside the box, often incorporating country stylings onto non-country songs. Throughout his entire career, Munsick has had fun at his shows, taking advantage of his impressive vocal range to perform some phenomenal covers.
Munsick often incorporates Britney Spears’ “Toxic,” “No Scrubs” by TLC, and Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” into his setlist, along with many other non-country songs.
However, one recent concert goer was not a fan of his pop goes country covers. A TikToker, @kylerpiano, shared a clip of Munsick performing “Toxic,” noting this was not the concert he paid for.
“Bro, I paid for country music.”
I read his caption and immediately thought that he must be a newer fan, unaware that this is a big part of Munsick’s set, and is not a new bit for him.

I’m sure that this creator posted the video hoping it would gain a little bit of traction, but nothing would come of it. Instead, @kylerpiano was called out on his own post by Ian Munsick and many other country music stars.
Munsick first responded to the video:
“‘Member when I told you this wasn’t a country song?”
HA.
Randall King then replied to his comment:
“One of the funniest and greatest things I’ve watched lol good to be on the bill with ya bubba, keep on bein u and havin’ fun my man.”
Of course, Munsick does not take offense to this one man’s thoughts and will continue doing his own thing, but fans and other artists rushed to the comments to defend Munsick for including “Toxic” in his setlist, noting how they love his ability to have fun during his shows.
“How dare an artist have fun at their show too lmao.”
“You paid for an Ian Munsick show and you got an Ian Munsick show.”
“I’m sorry but Ian is a beloved treasure. You paid for fun. Not just country.”
“He literally said before that he was gonna do a mashup of white girl songs…”
“God forbid an artist gives you some extra flavor for free.”
“Ian Munsick is my spirit animal.”
“What if the artist gets to have little fun too? Chill.”
“That’s what we call a PERFORMER.”
“I wouldn’t be mad at the performance at all. It looks fun.”
“You must not be a real Ian Munsick fan.”
After everyone came running to Munsick’s defense, he then went back into the comments, feeling bad for the mess this ole boy got himself into.
“Poor Kyler is getting roasted on his own post.”
Lesson learned here…
