Post Malone’s Next Album Will Be WAY More Traditional Country Than ‘F-1 Trillion’: “More Fiddle, Pedal Steel, Guitar Solos”

Last year, Post Malone went country with his F-1 Trillion record. Of all the artists outside of genre that have tested the waters of country music, Post Malone arguably had the most crossover appeal. And that was made evident by the response to his debut country project, which debuted at No. 1 on the charts upon its release, and was even nominated for Best Country Album at the Grammy Awards. But the F-1 Trillion dollar question now almost a year removed from Posty officially going country is… will the pop-star stay country? Considering the overwhelming success of his country record, which featured songs like “I Had Some Help” and “Losers,” and the fact that his F-1 Trillion Tour and his Big A** Stadium Tour (that Malone is currently on with Jelly Roll) have had fans flocking to stadiums, it might be smart for Post Malone to stick around – at least financially speaking. Though money will always be a main driver when it comes to decision making in the entertainment industry, Post Malone seems to be approaching his country era with a lot of respect for the genre as a whole. In a recent interview with The Tennessean, the 29-year-old spoke on that when discussing how he’s carefully treated his venture into country music, and appreciated the acceptance he’s received: “I want to make sure I do things with respect. I feel honored that everyone has been accepting and patient with me.” That mindset right there is why country music fans have welcomed Post Malone in with open arms. Another reason for Post’s wide acceptance is his love for the epicenter of country music: Nashville, Tennessee. The pop-star-turned-country-artist has even announced that he’s opening up a bar in Music City’s downtown, and that’s basically like planting a flag in the country music world. But his love for Nashville runs deep, mainly because the city has meant so much to his creative process during his time exploring country. Between his love for the genre and love for Music City, why would he just put out one country record and then – for a lack of a better term – dip? Well… he isn’t. In fact, he’s going MORE country. Guitar player extraordinaire and producer Derek Wells says this next project will feature Post Malone stepping WAY over the line between pop music and country music… deep into the heart of countryland where he’s channeling some George Jones and ’80s George Strait. Wells confesses: “There’s also more fiddle, pedal steel, guitar solos. Where we started as two feet over the line into traditional country on ‘F-1 Trillion’ has turned into head, chest, shoulders and feet across the line on where we’re headed with the next batch of songs.” I don’t know about you, but Post Malone has looked pretty damn happy to me since he went country, and he’s only digging in even more. A while back, Ed Sheeran said that he would probably move to Nashville someday, make a country album and never go back to pop, and it sounds like Post Malone might have beat him there. I’m not mad at it. I’d guess shooting a music video on Broadway with Luke Combs brings about some creative joy, no? Oliver Anthony Says His First Royalty Check From “Rich Men North Of Richmond” Was $800,000

No more working overtime hours for BS pay I guess. Oliver Anthony made history when he dropped what would become his debut single, “Rich Men North of Richmond,” back in 2023. The video was originally uploaded to YouTube by RadioWV and quickly went viral, racking up millions and millions of views before he even released the song on streaming platforms. Since its release, the song has racked up over 300 MILLION streams on Spotify alone, along with 200 million on the original video. The song debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making the first time that an artist had ever debuted at the top of the chart with their first single. But of course there was plenty of criticism of the song too – which no doubt helped its popularity. Many on the political left blasted the populist song as shaming welfare recipients due to the line about “fudge rounds,” and self-righteous blowhard Jason Isbell even said that Anthony should have blown up the entire song and written a new one. Of course the criticism didn’t really hurt him any. At the time, Anthony (whose real name is Christopher Anthony Lunsford) said that he turned down $8 million contract offers during the song’s success. And during a recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Anthony revealed just how much money he was making during the height of the song’s popularity: “The first check from ‘Richmond’ was $800,000. I could have lived a long time off of that money, you know? I don’t need a whole lot. That was crazy. That was a decade or more of work for me, easily, So I was like, ‘Heck yeah, I’m good.'” Not a bad payday for an overnight sensation. It’s hard to tell how much he’s made from the song since that first check, but Anthony released his debut album he hasn’t been able to replicate the success of “Rich Men North of Richmond.” His latest single, “Scornful Woman,” was released last week and has 2 million streams on Spotify, while his debut album came back in 2024 and doesn’t have any songs that have even broken 5 million streams. Regardless, he’s clearly doing well not only riding the success of “Rich Men North of Richmond” but parlaying it into tours and his ministry work. Last year, Anthony said that while he would still be releasing music, he would be leaving the “music business” and would instead focus on ministry with his “Rural Revival Project.” “I’m in the process of getting out of the music industry. It’s a big joke. The plan is to eventually change my entire focus to traveling ministry work. It’s all part of this Rural Revival thing. I just have to go at it in baby steps since it’s completely DIY.” He confirmed at the time that he still plans to continue releasing music: “No, I’ll still be releasing music just like normal, I’ll just be set up legally as a ministry.” And he further outlined his vision to bring music and ministry to rural areas: “I have this vision… I want to create a routing schedule that runs parallel to Nashville, circumvents the monopoly of Live Nation and Ticketmaster, and goes into towns that haven’t had music in them in a long time. It stimulates their economy, showcases their culture, it uses local vendors and local musicians. You’re not having to drive out to Pittsburgh to a concrete amphitheater to see a show. It’s done out on a farm or on a main street that desperately needs the economic impact.” Well with a checks rolling in like he got from his debut single, there’s no doubt that Anthony can pretty much forge his own path now.The post Oliver Anthony Says His First Royalty Check From “Rich Men North Of Richmond” Was $800,000 first appeared on Whiskey Riff.

Senator Alex Padilla Finds Out What Happens if You Lunge at a Cabinet Secretary

The following article, Senator Alex Padilla Finds Out What Happens if You Lunge at a Cabinet Secretary, was first published on Conservative Firing Line. Democrat Senator Alex Padilla failed to identify himself on Thursday, and while screaming lunged at Cabinet Secretary Kristi Noem. Wrong move… Noem’s security detail pushed him out of the room in a scuffle that would not have happened had he been wearing his Senate pin. Nobody had ever heard of him. Padilla was eventually released … Continue reading Senator Alex Padilla Finds Out What Happens if You Lunge at a Cabinet Secretary ...
