Iran attempted to overwhelm Israeli defenses on Saturday, sending a barrage of ballistic missiles aimed at the port city of Haifa and, according to The Times of Israel, killing three civilians and wounding at least seven others. Earlier in the day, Iranian media reported attacks near Tehran and near Mehrabad International Airport, while Israeli officials reported attacks over Tel Aviv and in the central part of the country. When the Saturday evening attacks began, Home Front Command sent phone alerts to residents directing them to seek shelter. One of the Iranian missiles, the Times reported, struck a two story home in the city of Tamra — northeast of Haifa — killing three people. The all-clear was reported around 11:45 p.m. local time, but officials warned that more attacks were expected.
