If you want to understand why there’s hope for a rebirth in America—restoring it to once again cherish faith, family, and country—remember Bill Middendorf, who recently passed away at the age of 101. At every turning point in modern history, Bill helped turn the USA the right way. Bill was part of the “greatest generation.” In 1944, he served as engineer officer and then navigator aboard a warship. He kept a model of the ship in his study. Bill’s wartime experience started him on a lifetime of selfless service and, in particular, an enduring relationship with his Navy. Until his death, he remained an active supporter of the Naval War College Foundation. In 1964, when Barry Goldwater ran for president, Bill was by his side as campaign finance chairman. Goldwater lost, but his campaign marked the beginning of the emergence of the modern conservative movement. In the 1970s, Bill served as secretary of the Navy, steering the service past the low point of the post-Vietnam War era. Then, Bill became a lifelong trustee of a fledgling think tank called The Heritage Foundation, an organization that has nurtured American conservative thought and policies from the dark days of Jimmy Carter’s presidency to the triumphs of President Donald Trump. He was one the influential soldiers in the Reagan Revolution, serving as a key supporter in both the campaign and the administration. Bill was a determined advocate for missile defense and especially the Aegis System. He was a life-long advocate of “peace through strength.” So intensely proud of Reagan’s efforts to end the long and dangerous Cold War and liberate captured nations from the communist yoke, Bill was one of the first Americans to race to Berlin to chip off a piece of the wall. Then, when Trump stood on balcony of his building in New York City and declared his candidacy for president, Bill became one of his first and most enthusiastic supporters. While Trump may not sound or act like Reagan, Bill saw in him all of Reagan’s strength and character and knew Trump was going to be the next leader of the American conservative movement. Even at 100, still writing op-eds and yet another book, there were few things that made Bill more excited than talking about Trump’s second presidency and the future opportunities for the American nation.  There are plenty of obituaries and remembrances of Bill’s life that give far more details of his accomplishments, skills, and talents, as well as of his personal life of success and character as the father of a loving and gifted family. What should not be lost, however, is recalling that at the great world-changing moments of choosing in modern history—from serving in World War II to ushering the resurgence of the modern American conservative movement—Bill didn’t just choose well, he led well, like a captain steering the great ship of state to the natural shore where family, and faith, and patriotism, and caring for this great country will flourish.  America can only be as great as it is because the Bill Middendorfs of America gave us their best. A 30-year-old man in Minnesota has been arrested by the FBI for posting a video on TikTok calling for the assassination of Attorney General Pam Bondi. The disgusting video displayed a ‘WANTED poster’ with a target on Pam Bondi’s head, offering a $45K bounty. Tyler Maxon Avalos is now facing federal charges over the threatening video. The investigation began on October 9, 2025, when a TikTok user in Detroit, Michigan, reported a disturbing post to the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center (NTOC)—the central hub for tips from the public. The user reported that an individual was “Imposing a hit on Pam Bondi for $45,000, posting it on TikTok. His username is @liminalvoidslip.” Federal agents quickly obtained screenshots of the post, which served as evidence. The image featured a photograph of Attorney General Bondi with a red sniper-scope sight superimposed on her forehead. The caption accompanying the image was explicit: “WANTED: Pam Bondi” “REWARD: $45,000” “DEAD OR ALIVE (PREFERABLY DEAD)” The suspect user also added a comment below the graphic, saying, “cough cough when they don’t serve us then what?” Furthermore, the affidavit notes the suspect’s TikTok page used the symbol for anarchy in the username and linked to an Anarchist FAQ book, leading Special Agent Caleb Jurchisin, an agent with specialized training in domestic-terrorism investigations, to note the post’s potential ideological underpinnings. In case you’re wondering, these charges carry a maximum penalty of up to 5 years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000. By the way, his isn’t the first time the suspect has been in trouble with the law. Daily Mail reported on his prior criminal history: Avalos’s record includes a misdemeanor for domestic assault, third-degree domestic battery, and he was most recently convicted in July 2022 for felony stalking in Dakota County. Court filings on October 22 indicated that US Magistrate Judge Douglas Micko allowed Avalos to be released from custody under several conditions, according to Law & Crime. Avalos may not travel outside of Minnesota or continue his mental health treatment, and can not possess weapons. He is also prohibited from consuming alcohol, has a curfew, is monitored by GPS, and needs approval to access the internet. Oregon Live has more: Portland police officers shocked entrenched protesters outside the city’s U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building Saturday night by ordering the immediate removal of tents and supplies that had fully blocked sidewalks. The chaotic scene took place starting at 8:30 p.m. amid pouring rain, as more than 30 officers arrived and ordered a path be cleared along the sidewalk. Officers told protesters who accused them of aiding federal immigration officials they were merely enforcing city laws. Police also warned they will soon begin enforcing low-level violations such as blocking sidewalks, consuming alcohol or drugs in public, jaywalking and the like in the coming days. The Portland Police Bureau has been criticized for months for not doing enough ensure livability for nearby residents amid the protests. But Police Bureau spokesperson Sgt. Kevin Allen said Saturday’s intervention didn’t represent a major shift in posture. “At the direction of the Crowd Management Incident Commander, officers requested the group ensure access to the sidewalk and advised them of the legal consequences if they did not,” he wrote in an email. “The City of Portland has abated this encampment several times over the past few months. This was simply an effort to maintain compliance.” Officers told protesters they were issuing warnings Saturday but would subsequently start enforcing city code. The timing of this sudden shift from the Portland police is a little suspicious… It comes amid President Trump’s legal battle to send in the National Guard. It seems to me a lot like the city is trying to convince President Trump that troops aren’t necessary — and, it’s not going to work! But, either way, let’s hope that law enforcement holds the line and keeps these Antifa thugs away from the ICE facility. Antifa needs to be completely dismantled across Portland — not just this one site. Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is not a fan of current Gov. Gavin Newsom’s redistricting proposal. During an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday, Schwarzenegger said that Democrat attempts to game the system only end up hurting the American people. He also criticized Newsom’s attempt to undo everything California has done to fight against gerrymandering. Namely, Newsom wants to dismantle California’s Independent Redistricting Commission and seize the power for himself. Under Newsom’s proposal, the independent commission would be re-established in a few years, but Schwarzenegger is highly suspicious. “I think when they say this is temporary, there is no such thing,” Schwarzenegger warned, “that’s total fantasy.” Watch for yourself here: Arnold Schwarzenegger on California Gov. I mean, the longest programs are government programs that are “temporary.” Just remember that — if it is a tax program or if it is a redistricting program — anything that is temporary with government is permanent. In the year 2032, when the independent redistricting commission is supposed to come back, they’re going to say, “Wait a minute, there’s still gerrymandering going on in Texas. There’s still gerrymandering going on in Ohio. There’s still gerrymandering going on in Florida. We have to continue with the gerrymandering.” That’s what’s going to happen. They will find an excuse. Therefore, I don’t think it is temporary. That’s total fantasy. The second thing is that you cannot cheat your way out of it. What the Democrats should do is outperform Trump. To me, it’s all about competition — competition creates performance. What they’re doing with the redistricting commission is trying to draw district lines in such a way that they get voted in no matter if they work well or not for the American people. So the American people get cheated. That is really the problem here. During that same CNN segment, Schwarzenegger also schooled Jake Tapper on the “extreme gerrymandering” that has been happening in blue states for a very long time now. He pointed out that in states like New Mexico and Massachusetts, Republicans make up half of the vote but get zero representation in Congress. But I want to add on a few things… The redistricting efforts we see happening in states like Texas, Missouri, and North Carolina are an effort to counter blue states who have been severely gerrymandering things in their favor for centuries. In other words, it’s an attempt to give the American people — and particularly Republicans — back their voice after Democrats cheated them out of it. Newsom’s redistricting proposal, on the other hand, is nothing more than another scheme to cement Democrat control in California. Why is he so concerned about it, you may ask?
