‘Charlatans And Liars’: Rubio Torches The ‘Gray Lady’ Over Cuba Report

In a move that surprises absolutely no one familiar with the “Gray Lady’s” obsession with laundering leftist narratives, the New York Times has once again been caught pushing anonymous leaks as front-page news. This time, the target is the Trump administration’s Cuba policy, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio isn’t just calling them out — he’s incinerating the outlet’s credibility. The Times published a sensationalist report titled, “Trump Administration Said to Tell Cuba That Its President Has to Go,” alleging that U.S. negotiators are cutting backroom deals to swap Cuba’s figureheads while leaving the broader communist apparatus intact. The story relies heavily on anonymous sources and reads more like a fever dream of D.C. bureaucrats than actual reporting. Rubio, the son of Cuban exiles whose political career is inextricably linked to the fight against Havana, took to X to dismantle the report with surgical precision. “The reason so many in US media keep putting out fake stories like this one is because they continue to rely on charlatans & liars claiming to be in the know as their sources,” Rubio blasted. The reason so many in US media keep putting out fake stories like this one is because they continue to rely on charlatans & liars claiming to be in the know as their sources. https://t.co/mfzZbeO9UT — Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) March 18, 2026   As the primary architect of the “hardline” approach — from the Cuba Restricted List to returning the regime to the State Sponsors of Terrorism list — Rubio has consistently argued that the only real “blockade” on the island is the one the regime imposes on its own people. Whether it’s medicine, the internet, or remittances, Rubio has spent years exposing how the regime uses control as a weapon. For the Times to suggest he is now negotiating with “Raulito” Castro to keep the system in place is not just a bad lead; it’s a deliberate insult to the exile community. But this is par for the course for the Times. This is the same “Paper of Record” that spent weeks “fact-checking” Donald Trump’s claims that FEMA neglected Republican homes — only to stay silent when FEMA itself admitted an official ordered workers to “avoid homes advertising Trump.” It’s the same outlet that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt lacerated for questioning the president’s fitness using anonymous hacks, while previously claiming a stumbling Joe Biden was “100% fine.” For Rubio, the Times’ Cuba piece is just the latest entry in a long ledger of institutional gaslighting. By relying on “charlatans” to push a narrative of managed transition, the Times is attempting to memory-hole the administration’s true goal: the total collapse of the Marxist dictatorship. Rubio’s message is clear: the administration isn’t interested in the Times’ symbolic reshuffling. While the “fact-checkers” continue to protect the regime, Rubio is busy reminding the world that if the regime wants the embargo to end, it can start by freeing political prisoners and holding fair elections.

Trump’s SAVE America Act Just Cleared A Huge Legislative Hurdle Despite Full Dem Opposition

The SAVE America Act cleared a key procedural hurdle Tuesday night, advancing Senate debate after a 51-48 vote. The proposal, considered the highest legislative priority of President Donald Trump, would require documentary proof of citizenship when registering to vote, mandate voter ID for federal elections, and impose new restrictions on voting by mail, with some exceptions. Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC), a Trump critic who’s not seeking re-election, was not present at the time of the procedural vote, and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) voted against it. “I’m thrilled to announce that just moments ago, we won the vote on the motion to proceed with the House-passed SAVE America Act. We got 51 votes for it,” Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) said in a video. “Game on, we need to stay on this thing now until it passes, and those who want to filibuster debate, make them speak,” he added. Debate is expected to stretch on for days as Republicans push for a talking filibuster rather than allowing delays without continuous floor speeches, according to The Hill. Democrats have vowed unified opposition. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said Tuesday that Democrats will resist the bill “no matter how long it takes.” “This bill is about stopping groups from voting who tend to vote for Democrats. This is again about rigging the next election,” Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) said on the Senate floor. Meanwhile, Sen. Eric Schmitt introduced Trump-backed amendments on Tuesday night, including restrictions on transgender-identifying athletes competing in women’s sports and preventing minors from undergoing transgender-related medical procedures. “The American people want to see a return to common sense, and this week the Senate will vote on the SAVE America Act to deliver on this mandate,” Sen. Eric Schmitt said in a statement. “I’ve worked closely with President Trump and the White House to introduce a substitute amendment that will save our elections, save women’s sports, and save our children from gender mutilation surgeries. It’s time to get this done,” the Republican added. Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), however, is calling for legislation on voter ID, rather than the full scope of unrelated proposals outlined in the SAVE America Act. “83% of Americans agree on voter ID. 71% of Democrats agree on voter ID. Keep it basic: PHOTO ID to vote,” the moderate Democrat posted to X. “Stop turning this into a Christmas list and attacking vote-by-mail. If GOP wants real reform over a show vote–put out a clean, standalone bill and I’m AYE,” he continued.

Dem Voters Nominate Radical ‘Abolish ICE’ Candidate For Key Senate Seat

A Democrat candidate reiterated her call to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Tuesday shortly after winning her party’s primary for a United States Senate seat in Illinois. Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton won the Democratic nomination to replace outgoing Sen. Dick Durbin, winning 40% of the vote and defeating Reps. Raja Krishnamoorthi and Robin Kelly. In her victory speech, Stratton doubled down on the far-left priorities she emphasized during the campaign.  “We will fight for Medicare for all. We will fight to abolish ICE. We’ll fight for a real living wage, not just the bare minimum,” Stratton said. “We’ll fight to defend our rights and claw our democracy back from the brink.” Stratton openly campaigned on abolishing ICE, framing her bid as a direct challenge to President Donald Trump.  “Courage inspired me to run. Courage powered this campaign and courage will bring this fight straight to Donald Trump’s door,” she said on Tuesday.  During the primary, Stratton ran ads emphasizing her opposition to Trump, including one spot featuring supporters saying, “F*ck Trump, vote Juliana.” “They said it, not me,” Stratton said in the ad. “I’m not scared of a wannabe dictator. I’m running for Senate to stand up to Donald Trump. I’ll abolish ICE and hold Trump accountable for the crimes he committed.”   Illinois Democrat Gov. JB Pritzker backed Stratton and contributed $5 million to a political action committee supporting her campaign. Pritzker said Tuesday that electing Stratton was “personal” for him.  Stratton will face GOP nominee Don Tracy, the former chair of the Illinois Republican Party. Tracy has said that the Democratic Party has become out of step with voters in the state by pushing “open border” policies and abolishing ICE.  “It’s especially important, I would suggest, for the Republican side, then the Democrat side, because it’s an opportunity to make Illinois a two-party state again,” Tracy told WTAX News, noting that Democrats currently hold all eight statewide offices.  Illinois has leaned reliably Democratic in recent elections. Former Vice President Kamala Harris won the state by about 11 points in the 2024 presidential race.

Joe Kent Never Should Have Had This Job

Joe Kent Never Should Have Had This Job

Joe Kent has resigned as director of the National Counterterrorism Center. He should never have had the job to begin with. Kent explained in his resignation letter that he believes Iran posed “no imminent threat to our nation” and that Israel with the help of Israel’s powerful “lobby” is behind the United States “starting” the war.  These galling, fact-defying claims reveal Kent’s belief in a crank evil conspiracy about Israel and the “Israel lobby,” i.e., the Jews, controlling American foreign policy. It is exceptionally concerning that it was his job to protect the American people from terrorism and he discounts the role Iran plays in threatening the American people as the leading sponsor of terrorism globally. The regime funds, equips, and trains Islamist proxies throughout the Middle East to harass global shipping and attack Americans and our allies. Iran is directly responsible for the maiming and killing of hundreds of Americans since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Kent’s resignation could have simply stated he does not personally support the war and that his conscience prevents him from continued public service. Instead, he used the position from which he resigned to provide him credibility in an effort to undermine Trump, public support for the war, and the success of the war effort.  There are two critical points to understand in all of this. One, the political ecosystem that Kent decided to align with, and which supported his rise to influence within the MAGA coalition over the last several years, includes Nick Fuentes and his followers, the so-called Groypers. Nick Fuentes told Tucker Carlson a few months ago on his podcast that he spoke with Joe Kent and supported him and his failed congressional campaign. Fuentes also said that Kent’s campaign manager bought a table at Fuentes’ event and introduced Fuentes to Kent. According to National Review reporter Audrey Fahlberg, Joe Kent’s former campaign manager acknowledged sending texts referring to Jews as “f*c*ing ki*es” and writing “heil f*cking Kent” and “allah f*cking akbar.” Kent also publicly aligned with Fuentes when he launched his unsuccessful campaign. All of this is public information and did not prevent him from attaining a senior job in the administration.  How many more people are serving in the Trump administration share these views or are sympathetic to them? Since Hamas carried out the worst attack on the Jews since the Holocaust on October 7, 2023, the United States has experienced a spike in open antisemitism and expressions of sympathy towards Islamist terrorists. College campuses have been awash with organized protesters chanting “from the river to the sea” and other genocidal slogans against the Jewish people. Since the initiation of Operation Epic Fury, there have been four terrorist attacks here at home: a shooting at a bar in Austin, an attempted bombing in New York City, an attack on the Temple Israel synagogue in Michigan, and a shooting at Old Dominion University in Virginia.  This is a time to clearly and decisively marginalize those who traffic in antisemitic views, not elevate them and place them in positions of authority.  Two, Dana Loesch said it well when she noted that those circling the wagons for Kent’s stand against Operation Epic Fury are not only undermining President Trump now, they are “power-jockeying for 2028.” They insist that Trump betrayed them in taking joint action with Israel in Operation Midnight Hammer to degrade Iran’s nuclear program, and again now in Operation Epic Fury to dismantle the Iran regime’s ability to threaten the United States and its allies. They ignore the long pattern of Trump’s support for Israel as a valued and highly capable ally, which was a hallmark of his first term. And, they ignore Trump’s support for a world-class military — he recently said he supports a $1.5 trillion defense budget, which would commit the United States to 5% of GDP on defense spending, matching his demands for the rest of NATO — designed not to retreat and pull up the proverbial drawbridge, but to project power across the globe to defend its declared vital interests in the Middle East, Europe, and Indo-Pacific. Additionally, they discounted Trump’s willingness in his first term to use military force to destroy the ISIS caliphate and other Iranian leaders and proxies sprawled across the Middle East. They also ignore Trump’s decades-long view that the Islamic Republic could not have a viable nuclear weapon, and that military action was a plausible and legitimate course of action if Iran refused to willingly dismantle its illicit program. Trump did not betray them. They simply could not manipulate Trump into becoming what they are. Tucker Carlson is already planning to host Joe Kent on his podcast today (Wednesday). We should expect them to try to galvanize more opposition to President Trump’s efforts in Iran. They may be mad about not having power and influence on policy now, but we should expect this pernicious effort to continue into election season where they hope to have better luck. * * * Rebeccah L. Textbooks GOT Hair Growth Backwards

Your hair doesn’t “push” its way out of your scalp the way most of us were taught—it gets pulled out by a tiny cellular motor. The old “pushing” story collapses under a microscope Biology classes drilled in a clean narrative: cells divide rapidly in the hair bulb, stack up like bricks, and the accumulating mass pushes a hair fiber upward. The new study flips that picture by watching real human follicles in motion, not relying on cartoons or animal stand-ins. The main driver looked less like a piston and more like a winch: surrounding tissue gripped the hair and tugged it along. Researchers used living, intact human scalp follicles kept alive outside the body long enough to observe the action. With multiphoton 3D time-lapse microscopy running for two to three days, they tracked on the order of tens of thousands of cells per follicle and focused on a region many people never hear about: the outer root sheath. Those cells didn’t sit there as passive scaffolding. They moved in coordinated spirals, and the hair moved with them. Spiral cell motion turns the follicle into a traction engine The outer root sheath sits like a sleeve around the hair shaft and inner structures. The surprise was the direction and pattern of motion: cells in that sheath drifted downward in a spiral while the hair shaft extruded upward. That sounds contradictory until you picture a rope over a capstan: a rotating grip can translate motion into pulling force. The team described actin-myosin contractions—basic muscle-like machinery inside cells—creating traction that effectively towed the hair. The numbers made the point bluntly. When the researchers blocked mitosis with CDK1 inhibitors, hair growth slowed only modestly, reported in the range of roughly 5% to 20%. When they interfered with actin dynamics using cytochalasin D, growth dropped by more than 80%. In plain English: stop the “cell motor,” and the conveyor belt shuts down; slow the “cell factory,” and the belt keeps moving. Why human follicles matter more than lab-friendly animals Hair research often leans on rodents because they’re available, controllable, and ethically simpler. The problem is that mouse follicles and specialized hairs like whiskers don’t perfectly mimic thick human scalp terminal hairs. The study’s ex vivo human approach avoided those translation traps and let the authors argue they weren’t just discovering a quirk of a convenient model organism. That matters for anyone tired of headlines that cure baldness in mice, then evaporate in humans. Ex vivo also creates a fair objection: a follicle in a dish isn’t a follicle in a head. Blood supply, nerves, immune signals, and hormonal gradients all change in a living person. The conservative, common-sense reading is to treat the work as a strong mechanical clue, not a finished clinical verdict. Still, when a mechanism survives multiple tests—live imaging, drug perturbations, and computational modeling—it earns attention even before in vivo follow-up arrives. Bulb division still matters, just not the way textbooks implied The hair bulb and its matrix cells remain essential, because the shaft has to be built from something. The update is about what provides most of the force that advances that shaft through the skin. Finite-element simulations helped quantify the idea, estimating shear stresses in the outer root sheath and suggesting a large share of the “work” comes from traction rather than proliferation pressure. That re-balancing—pulling dominant, pushing secondary—changes what researchers should measure when treatments fail. This also clarifies a few long-standing oddities clinicians talk about. Patients can see continued hair emergence even when dividing cells get hammered, as in some chemotherapy settings, which never fit neatly with a pure push model. Another puzzle: why actively growing hairs can resist plucking more than expected, as though anchored by more than friction. A sheath that actively grips and tugs behaves differently from a passive sleeve, and the mechanical picture finally matches the lived experience. Hair-loss treatment implications that don’t depend on hype Many products and drug ideas aim at signaling pathways and proliferation: stimulate growth factors, extend anagen, wake up follicles, divide faster. Those approaches may still help, but this research implies an overlooked target: the motility and contractility of the outer root sheath. If the follicle’s “motor” depends on actin-myosin organization and coordinated cell choreography, then therapies could focus on restoring that mechanical competence, especially in thinning hair where structure and cellular behavior often degrade together. Industry involvement will raise some eyebrows because the collaboration included major cosmetics research. That’s not inherently a scandal; it’s a reality of applied biology where expensive imaging platforms and long development timelines often need private money. The sensible demand is transparency and replication. The study’s publication in a peer-reviewed journal and its detailed method stack—imaging plus pharmacology plus modeling—gives independent labs a clear roadmap to confirm or challenge the results. The next fight will be about proof inside living scalps The immediate open loop is whether the same pulling mechanics dominate in vivo across ages, sexes, and hormonal states—and what changes in common forms of hair loss. If the “motor” weakens, does it fail gradually, or does it break at specific points in the hair cycle? Answering that will require careful human studies that respect ethics and avoid hand-waving. If confirmed, it could shift the hair-restoration market from simply “grow more cells” to “restore the machinery that moves hair.” Textbooks were wrong: Scientists reveal the surprising way human hair really grows https://t.co/nl3YOIGzDh — Michael Plishka (@plish) March 16, 2026 Readers over 40 know the feeling of being told, for decades, that something “works this way,” only to watch newer tools expose a more complicated truth. The satisfying part here isn’t that textbooks were “stupid.” It’s that biology is mechanical as much as it is chemical. Hair isn’t just manufactured at the bottom; it’s transported upward by living tissue doing coordinated work—quietly, relentlessly, and right under your fingertips.
