Morgan Wallen Is Celebrating His Birthday This Year By Running Stairs: “Times Have Changed”

Morgan Wallen Is Celebrating His Birthday This Year By Running Stairs: “Times Have Changed”

Probably the tamest birthday Morgan Wallen has had in a long time. Last night, Ernest did a free concert outside of Loser’s, a popular bar in Midtown, to celebrate the launch of his new record label, DeVille Records, where he surprised fans with an appearance from Morgan, and they performed their hit duet “Flower Shops.” Of course, Morgan and Ernest have been friends for years now, and has written tons of his biggest hits like “Somebody’s Problem,” “Wasted On You,” “Cowgirls (feat. ERNEST)” and more, but last night, they played their duet “Flower Shops.” They dropped the fan-favorite, good old fashioned heartbreaker back on New Year’s Eve of 2021, which was the lead single to Ernest’s 2022 second studio album Flower Shops (The Album), and has since been certified Platinum by the RIAA. Filled with some absolutely beautiful steel guitar, “Flower Shops” was written by Ernest, Ben Burgess and Mark Holman and was inspired by George Jones’ classic “A Good Year For The Roses.” Today is actually Morgan’s birthday, and he was born May 13, 1993 in Sneedville, Tennessee, making him 32 years old now. But he won’t be doing shots on Broadway, as Ernest also told the crowd that Morgan wanted his friends to run stairs with him to celebrate… so yeah, times have certainly changed though that sounds like a great, safe option for Morgan… last year, he got arrested after throwing a chair off of Eric Church’s bar Chief’s, so it’s probably for the best he stays far away from Broadway: “Just about four years ago, Morgan came up here on this stage during a parking lot party and announced that we were gonna do this song as a duet before we told anybody we were gonna do this song as a duet. And I think we’ve played it one or two other times here, but tonight’s special because like I said, I’m getting to launch my label, DeVille records, and I wanna thank you for coming tonight before your birthday…” Morgan chimed in: “I’ll be 32 tomorrow, and I’m gonna celebrate by running stairs.” Ernest joked that he didn’t respond, so it sounds like he wasn’t going to make it to at least that part of the celebration: “I’m in a group text, and he said, ‘Tomorrow we’re gonna run stairs for my birthday. Look how times have changed.’ I didn’t respond to that text. Here’s a song y’all might know.” Not long ago, Morgan appeared on Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, where he explained that he hadn’t been in a bar since “the chair” incident at Chief’s, and said that staying out of bars is “definitely” the best thing for him, specifically referencing the “most public” time he was in a bar last summer: “It’s definitely the best thing for me, you know. If you’re using the bar as a specific example, that’s definitely the best thing for me. I ain’t been in a bar since the last time I was in a bar that everybody knows about. The most public time I was in a bar, that’s the last time I was in a bar.” Birthdays inevitably change as you get older (and usually calm down some), but I think there’s more than one reason for Morgan’s much tamer birthday, and it sounds like he’s pretty content with his plans anyways. Morgan and Ernest kept their “Flower Shops” performance acoustic, and it’s a heck of a surprise if you happened to make it to this show in-person: @tinasconcertcorner HELLO??! Morgan Wallen joins Ernest for Flower Shops at Losers tonight?!! I love living in Nashville @Ernest @morganwallen #morganwallen #ernest #losers #morganwallentiktok #morganwallenconcert #fyp #nashville #livemusic #concerts ♬ original sound – TinasConcertCorner Here’s another angle: @lindsayyonair Gotta Love Nashville… Morgan shows up to a free show on a MONDAY!! #Lifewithlindsay #morganwallen #nashville #ernest ♬ original sound – LindsayyOnAir He started his celebrations a little bit early, too, as Ernest had the crowd sing “Happy Birthday” to Morgan: @tinasconcertcorner Happy birthday Morgan Wallen! @morganwallen #morganwallen #morganwallentiktok #morganwallenconcert #fyp #nashville #losers #devillerecords #musiccity #viral #concert ♬ original sound – TinasConcertCorner The post Morgan Wallen Is Celebrating His Birthday This Year By Running Stairs: “Times Have Changed” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.

Trump Announces End of Syria Sanctions

Trump Announces End of Syria Sanctions

President Donald Trump, during a Tuesday speech in Saudi Arabia, announced he was lifting sanctions on Syria.  “I will be ordering the cessation of sanctions against Syria in order to give them a chance at greatness,” Trump said to applause. Sitting in the audience, de facto Saudi ruler Mohammed bin Salman clasped his chest in an expression of gratitude. Trump is expected to meet with Syrian leader Ahmad al-Sharaa—formerly known by his nom de guerre Abu Mohammed al-Jolani—in Riyadh on Wednesday. Sharaa’s militant group HTS overthrew the regime of Bashar al-Assad last December, and the new president is trying to establish international legitimacy. Trump’s announcement marks a dramatic shift in U.S. policy. America had imposed severe sanctions against Syria to cripple the Assad government and punish its human rights violations. Critics said the restrictions inflicted suffering on the Syrian people while Assad and other elites continued living in luxury. Trump is in the Middle East for a four-day tour of the Gulf, the first major foreign trip of his second term. Saudi Arabia was the first foreign destination in his first term as well.
