Luke Combs Turned His Signature PFG Fishing Shirt Into A Sick Custom Suit For The ACM Honors

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. By now, most country music fans know that Luke Combs has a signature look. While he’s not the only artist with a signature look, for example, Eric Church always wears his sunglasses, Lainey Wilson sports bell-bottom pants while performing, or Parker McCollum wears a large gold chain. However, all of these artists will wear slight variations of this signature look, such as different-colored shirts, pants, or, in Eric Church’s case, he has swapped back and forth between sunglass styles since coining the look. However, Luke Combs does not have these slight variations to his look. When Luke Combs steps on stage, his fans know he will step out wearing a black PFG fishing shirt. Over the years, Combs has leaned into this look, even comparing his look to Steve Jobs. Earlier this summer, in a hilarious video posted by Luke Combs’ team, the country music star poked fun at his signature look with a “Get Ready With Me” style video on TikTok. For those who spend a lot of time on social media, you either love or hate the “GRWM” videos. There’s really no in between. But this one is as good as gold. Combs can barely keep it together as he holds up two Columbia PFG shirts – which are very much the exact same, black button-ups – and looks to the camera and says this: “Get ready with me for a show guys, lot of big decisions to be made here. This PFG or this PFG. That’s the decision we have to make.” @lukecombshq @Luke Combs GRWM: @Columbia Sportswear ♬ TV and video lines called Pee deleted, corrected sound(1079283) – ocomezaurus It’s rare to see Combs in anything but his PFG fishing shirts these days, except when he’s at awards shows. However, last night, for the ACM Honors, Combs transformed his signature look into red-carpet attire. Last night, Combs hit the red carpet in a custom PFG fishing suit. Yes, folks, the back of the suit jacket still had the signature fishing shirt slits. It’s the definition of business in the front and a party in the back. Combs sported a black one-of-a-kind suit that combines breathable comfort with mesh venting. The suit was complete with Columbia PFG labels, trims, and finishes, and includes a personal touch with Mossy Oak Greenleaf camouflage lining in the jacket and pockets, giving a nod to Combs’ favorite camouflage company. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Luke Combs (@lukecombs) You can see a little bit of the vents and the PFG logo on the back of his suit as he steps into the ACM Honors stage. @to.nashville After one hell of a tour through Australia and New Zealand, @Luke Combs is this year’s winner for the ACM International Award #Nashville #615 #LukeCombs #Country ♬ original sound – Nashville Setlist This is how you get a country boy in a suit. PFG should consider making these a permanent fixture in their collection, rather than a one-off custom piece. I bet these would sell like hot cakes. The post Luke Combs Turned His Signature PFG Fishing Shirt Into A Sick Custom Suit For The ACM Honors first appeared on Whiskey Riff.

Ashley McBryde Covers Luke Combs’ “When It Rains It Pours” & “Beer Never Broke My Heart” At ACM Honors

Last night at the Pinnacle in Nashville was one for the ages. As the 18th ACM Honors Ceremony took place, a plethora of the genre’s biggest stars gathered together to celebrate the legacy of the likes of Eric Church, Randy Travis, Jelly Roll, Mac McAnally and more. With Church bringing home the Icon Award thanks in part to his relief efforts after the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene last year, Luke Combs brought in another of the night’s most notable honors: the ACM International Award. Inspired by pioneer of the genre, Jim Reeves, the award is presented to a “Country Music artist, duo/group or industry leader for outstanding contributions to the growth of Country Music throughout the world.” Explaining their reasoning behind the “Beautiful Crazy” singer’s win, the Academy said: “Luke Combs blends traditional Country sounds with elements that appeal to a worldwide audience and has become a global sensation. Combs’ global reach is evident in his streaming success. With over 10 billion streams and 25 million monthly listeners across all platforms, he’s a true international presence. His tours have sold out venues in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Australia, showcasing his global fanbase. Combs’ success is a bridge between Country Music’s American roots and the rest of the world.” As the Academy mentioned, Combs’ reach really can’t be understated. From becoming the first-ever country act to headline Lollapalooza here in the states last month to his massive touring success both in Europe and Australia, he’s proven time and time again that he can reach audiences outside of the standard country sphere. None other than Ashley McBryde was there last night, not only to present Combs with the award itself but also to honor him with covers of two of his biggest hits to date — “When It Rains It Pours” and “Beer Never Broke My Heart.” “When It Rains It Pours” has quickly become one of the most successful country songs of all time. Written by Combs, Ray Fulcher and Jordan Walker, the 2017 single became his second #1 hit. Its longevity, however, is what has made the track stand out. Back in February, it became just the fifth solo country song ever to reach one billion streams on Spotify. Additionally, it is one of just 15 country songs ever to be certified diamond by the RIAA, currently being certified 12x platinum. As for “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” it’s another one of Combs’ most successful tracks. The 2019 single was Combs’ sixth-straight #1 hit to start his career. Written by Combs, Randy Montana and Jonathan Singleton, it has remained arguably his most popular song to date outside of “Beautiful Crazy” and is currently certified 8x platinum by the RIAA. McBryde, who simply cannot deliver a bad performance, crushed both covers acoustically. Hearing her cover Combs was something I never expected to hear in my life, but I’m extremely glad I did. After she presented him with the award, Combs would go on to thank his wife, kids, team and the fans, noting how he always had a plan to reach a worldwide audience: “We always had a plan to, no matter the cost out of our own pocket or the time cost, go there and service those fans. And I hope that I have shown to the fans that I care, that I have spent my time to go and play these shows in Europe and Australia… I always feel like country music was so sequestered to the United States for some period of time. And I knew that these songs would speak to people all around the world, no matter the circumstance, no matter the place.” Huge congratulations to Luke and a job well done to Ashley last night.
