EXCLUSIVE: New SBA Database Aims to Boost Supply Chains to ‘Make Onshoring Great Again’

FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL—The Trump administration has launched a new tool to help small businesses identify American manufacturers and producers. Small Business Administration chief Kelly Loeffler on Tuesday announced a “Make Onshoring Great Again” portal, which will feature a database of more than 1 million American suppliers. “The SBA is proud to support President Donald J. Trump’s mission to restore America’s economic resurgence by empowering small businesses with the resources to supercharge the return of Made in America,” Loeffler said in a statement shared with The Daily Signal. The portal will help business owners connect with domestic suppliers, supporting American jobs, and reconnect the supply chain with U.S.-based production, helping end the nation’s dependence on foreign suppliers, including adversaries, such as China, according to the Small Business Administration. “The Make Onshoring Great Again portal will give job creators a direct line to more than 1 million domestic suppliers—replacing foreign dependence with access to American-made solutions,” Loeffler said. “It’s a decisive step toward rebuilding our nation’s strength through stronger supply chains, better products, and a renewed commitment to American industry, small business, and workers.” The SBA partnered with several private-sector cosponsors to provide public access to three free databases. The portal builds on SBA’s “Made in America Manufacturing Initiative,” which is aimed at expanding access to capital for U.S. manufacturers, promoting a skilled workforce, and cutting $100 billion in red tape. Last month, Trump’s Small Business Administration announced an almost 75% surge in loans to small manufacturers. Trump announced reciprocal tariffs on U.S. trading partners on April 7, a date he termed “Liberation Day.” In the ensuing weeks, Democrat lawmakers have claimed tariffs “are putting small businesses in an impossible position.” But manufacturing has been on the “rebound” since Trump took office, “boosted by his pro-business agenda—including tax cuts, deregulation, energy independence and tariffs,” according to an SBA press release previewed by The Daily Signal. Key Group in Government-Linked Censorship Network Boasted of Defunding News Outlets

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. Freshly unearthed records show that the Global Disinformation Index (GDI), a UK-based organization long-funded by US government-linked entities, highlighted its success in suppressing American media outlets, despite repeated denials from its funders that any of its activities were aimed at domestic targets. More: Inside the $1.5 Billion US Censorship-Industrial Complex: How MDM Grants Built a Domestic and Global Narrative Control Network The National Endowment for Democracy (NED), which receives taxpayer support and was one of GDI’s financial backers, has publicly maintained that it “never funded, supported, or authorized” GDI efforts “involved [with] the United States or was directed at U.S. media outlets.” Yet internal reports obtained by the watchdog group Protect the Public’s Trust and published by Just the News suggest the opposite. Contained within these documents are quarterly reports submitted by GDI to NED, as well as a full grant agreement detailing the group’s activities. Far from focusing exclusively on foreign disinformation, the reports reveal a sustained campaign targeting US news organizations and audiences. In one update, GDI touted a blog post it published titled “How Disinformation Fueled the Siege of the U.S. Capitol” and pointed to media coverage of its co-founder, Dr. Danny Rogers, by prominent American outlets. GDI also praised its partnership with Infolinks Media, a US-based advertising tech company connected with major brands like Nike and Netflix. Another section described a co-authored report with the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, “Bankrolling Bigotry,” which focused on what it labeled the financial lifelines of American hate groups. GDI also referenced its “US (Dis)information Ecosystem” primer, reinforcing that its work extended far beyond international borders. The group’s progress reports further reveal that its recommendations had a measurable financial impact on media platforms it deemed “disinformation sites.” By placing these sites on its “Dynamic Exclusion List” (DEL), a blacklist shared with advertisers and tech companies like Microsoft and Oracle, GDI estimated it helped strip approximately 1,200 sites of $100 million in advertising revenue over just 15 months. These internal assessments contradict the narrative pushed by the NED, which stated it severed ties with GDI in early 2023 only after learning the organization was engaged in work targeting US outlets. However, the GDI’s own progress updates make it clear that such efforts were ongoing well before that decision. More: Inside the $1.5 Billion US Censorship-Industrial Complex: How MDM Grants Built a Domestic and Global Narrative Control Network  The GDI’s censorship tactics relied heavily on ad revenue throttling. “This period, we turned our minds to evaluation of GDI’s impact; specifically, to how we might measure the demonetization achieved through uptake of our risk ratings by brands and/or ad tech platforms,” the group noted. Even more revealing was the organization’s celebration of Donald Trump’s diminished social media presence. GDI highlighted a New York Times article citing its research into the “dramatic drop in reach” of Trump’s messaging following his deplatforming from major social networks. It pointed to this media coverage as evidence of the broader success of its censorship campaign. The organizations on GDI’s radar were overwhelmingly right-leaning. The index included The Federalist, Newsmax, The Daily Wire, The New York Post, and The Blaze among those flagged as high-risk. Meanwhile, GDI elevated left-leaning outlets such as NPR, The New York Times, and ProPublica as “minimum-risk,” according to an archived version of its rankings. The reach of the censorship web extended beyond GDI. The now-defunct Global Engagement Center (GEC), a US State Department initiative that funded GDI, also played a key role in policing online discourse. Are Light Pulses from the Nearest Habitable Exoplanet Natural or Artificial?

Credit: Ricardo Ramirez and James Jenkins (Department of Astronomy, Universidad de Chile)I received an email from Mia Holland, an editor of a German public broadcast outlet, which checks TikTok videos for their truthfulness and takes action against the spread of disinformation and fake news on social media. Mia stated: “I’m currently working on a TikTok video concerning the exoplanet Proxima b. In the video, it is said that light-glow from Proxima b appears to pulsate regularly and might therefore indicate a technological civilization. We know that Proxima b is in the habitable zone and that the planet is exposed to flares from its host star, Proxima Centauri. But whether the explanation for the claimed “light pulses” made by the TikTok-Creator is true, remains unclear. As you have researched this planet, we are confident that you are the right person to contact with our set of questions.” Below are Mia’s questions and my answers under each of them: 1. What kind of exoplanet is Proxima b and how Earth-like is it? Proxima b is a rocky planet with a mass somewhat larger (by at least 7%) than that of Earth. It is located in the habitable zone of the nearest star to the Sun, Proxima Centauri. This implies that if Proxima b has an atmosphere, it could have liquid water on its surface, potentially enabling the chemistry of life-as-we-know-it. The star is fainter than the Sun by a factor of 640 and the planet is 20 times closer than the Earth is to the Sun, having an orbital period of 11.2 days instead of a year. If there are intelligent beings on Proxima b, then they celebrate their birthdays every 1.6 weeks. Proxima Centauri is a red dwarf star with 12% of the mass of the Sun. Its frequent flares and its wind could have stripped the atmosphere of Proxima b and sterilized the planet. It is unclear whether dwarf stars, which are much more abundant than the Sun, can nurture life on planets near them. We live next to a rarer quiescent star like the Sun, possibly for a good reason. 2. Is it correct that a “constant, faint glow” can be seen on Proxima b, which “pulsates regularly”, as the creator claims in the video? Proxima Centauri is known to flare frequently. A recent study with the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) found Proxima Centauri to brighten on time intervals as short as seconds and as long as years. Just as with the Sun, these flares are likely accompanied by plumes of hot gas that could collide with the planet, Proxima b, and brighten it periodically. In addition, surface topography and spatial variations in geological composition could also modulate the reflectance of starlight from the planet’s surface and introduce short-term variability. Better spectral data from the Webb telescope and ground-based telescope could clarify the origin of the observed variability of glow of Proxima b. Artist’s impression of the exoplanet Proxima Centauri b. Credit: Wikipedia 3. Could stellar flares explain the Creator’s claim of pulsating light on Proxima b? It is most likely that the pulsations are of natural origin as the flares from Proxima Centauri modulate the stellar wind which impacts the planet on timescales as short as seconds. The interaction would depend on whether the planet has a magnetosphere like the Earth. We do not know if Proxima b has an atmosphere or a magnetic field. About five years ago, I wrote a paper with my summer intern, Elisa Tabor, on the detectability of city lights from Proxima b. However, possible natural interpretations for the detected variability must be considered first. 4. Proxima b is located in the habitable zone. How likely is it that complex life like on Earth exists there? We do not know whether Proxima b hosts complex life at this time. We should seek better evidence to find out. Science is work in progress. We acquire new knowledge by collecting evidence from our telescopes, not based on opinions or conjectures. 5. Is it safe to say that complex life on Proxima b is impossible? Complex life on Proxima b is possible. We could potentially send a probe that will land on Proxima b to find out. With existing chemical propulsion, the probe could reach Proxima b in 50,000 years and inform us whether there is life there. The mission requires patience as the timescale is comparable to the time elapsed since humans left Africa. If we develop faster propulsion in the next 50 millennia, we could send probes that would overtake older ones and get there earlier. The information about the findings of the probes will take 4.25 years to reach us at the speed of light. The probe will need to be equipped with artificial intelligence and act autonomously since it takes 8.5 years for a round-trip dialog with it at the speed limit of light. The lack of evidence for complex life is not evidence for the absence of complex life on Proxima b. Complex forms of life may come and go episodically, punctuated by catastrophes, like a giant flare from the host star, an asteroid impact or a nearby stellar explosion. The notion of fluctuations around a zero signal extends more broadly. In another email I was asked: “Is the concept of zero an adequate representation of “nothingness,” or does zero carry more significance than simply the absence of quantity? Is it possible to meaningfully quantify “nothing” without inadvertently introducing a form of existence?” I explained that in quantum mechanics or statistical physics, zero could define the typical state of a quantity which is fluctuating. For example, the vacuum in quantum mechanics could have zero energy density but it fluctuates and makes virtual particles that appear and disappear. These particles could materialize in the presence of an electric field, leading to the phenomena of vacuum polarization, electron-positron pair creation, or the Casimir effect between conducting plates. In the same way, complex life could have materialized episodically multiple times on each exoplanet, with the most common state being a rock devoid of technological signals. Daily Show Promotes 9/11, Oct. 7 Apologist As Liberal Solution to 'Manosphere'

After Monday’s regularly scheduled episode of The Daily Show, Comedy Central aired a follow-up Jordan Klepper: Fingers the Pulse special where Klepper went around trying to figure out why young people, and especially young men, have drifted right. As part of his solution for liberals, he promoted Twitch streamer Hasan Piker and his love of anime boobs, but not the terrorists who did September 11 and October 7. As part of Klepper’s anthropological dive into the MAGA youth, he highlighted various influencers ranging from relatively normal activists like Charlie Kirk to the politically hard-to-define Joe Rogan to UFC fighter and actual Hitler apologist Bryce Mitchell and how they have shaped young people. As a counter, Klepper highlighted, “One person who is in the ring is Hasan Piker. Piker has 2.8 million followers on the streaming platform, Twitch. He manages to work out like a bro and have intellectual sit-downs with Bernie and AOC. All this has liberal media asking if he is the connection to the youth.”     Here is a list of just some of Piker’s political positions and personal history that Klepper decided to ignore: September 11 and October 7 apologist Compared Houthi terrorists and pirates to Anne Frank Claimed the United States is a terrorist country while praising Hezbollah Posted music videos from terrorists on his Twitch stream Has said any "Zionist entity" (i.e. Israel or pro-Israel person or activist group) should treated like neo-Nazis. Has said, “I like communism” Praised the Taliban, "Didn’t he [Rep. Dan Crenshaw] go to war and, like, literally lose his eye because some mujahideen, a brave fucking soldier, fucked his eyehole with their dick" Claimed people who cared about Medicare and Medicaid fraud would "kill" Sen. Rick Scott On landlords, he ranted, “Let the streets soak in the red, capitalist blood.” Went to a brothel that was later raided for sex trafficking So, what did Klepper focus on instead? Well, he tried to portray Piker not as proof horseshoe theory has merit by comparing him to Mitchell, but by trying to claim he is just one of the bros, “I'll follow you on Instagram and see you talking about what's happening in the news but also see you working out. You also are communicating to people through working out.” He then asked, “How do you see the left communicating with young men in this time of the manosphere?” Piker claimed, “The left could, I don't know, talk to dudes without vilifying them. There's a lot of anger, resentment, not having any hope for a future, never being able to retire, never being able to own a home. All of those things are very much of the core identity for the next generation.” That all sounds very normal, which is why omitting Piker's radicalness is not only dishonest but dangerous. However, Klepper then continued to try to portray Piker as just a left-wing bro, which is what he claimed liberals need, “The left needs to face the fact that, for the youth of America, what is appealing is not a moral superiority. But it's fun shit like swords, anime, and taking down the billionaire class.” Piker claimed, “I represent the feelings and opinions of a lot of people that are just like, you can have fun. It's okay to have fun.” Klepper then asked, “How do you balance being a mature adult and also embrace anime boobs?” Still trying to play up his bro credentials, Piker added, “I mean, anime boobs are awesome.” After Klepper asked if that is what the left needs, Piker added, “Yeah. I think people should get health care. And also, I like watching anime. Sometimes it has boobs in it, and that's cool.” Klepper concluded the show with both optimism and a warning, “In the end, young people just want what everybody wants: leaders who connect with them. That's the good news. The bad news is there's a lot of these guys lurking out there.” By “these guys,” Klepper meant those on the right, but an honest dive into influencer culture would have included those on the left. Here is a transcript for the May 19 show: Comedy Central The Daily Show Presents: Jordan Klepper Fingers the Pulse: MAGA: The Next Generation 5/20/2025 12:19 AM ET JORDAN KLEPPER: One person who is in the ring is Hasan Piker. Piker has 2.8 million followers on the streaming platform, Twitch. He manages to work out like a bro and have intellectual sit-downs with Bernie and AOC. All this has liberal media asking if he is the connection to the youth.  I'll follow you on Instagram and see you talking about what's happening in the news but also see you working out. You also are communicating to people through working out.  HASAN PIKER: Yeah, through grunts. KLEPPER: How do you see the left communicating with young men in this time of the manosphere?  PIKER: The left could, I don't know, talk to dudes without vilifying them. There's a lot of anger, resentment, not having any hope for a future, never being able to retire, never being able to own a home. All of those things are very much of the core identity for the next generation.  KLEPPER: The left needs to face the fact that, for the youth of America, what is appealing is not a moral superiority. But it's fun shit like swords, anime, and taking down the billionaire class. PIKER: I represent the feelings and opinions of a lot of people that are just like, you can have fun. It's okay to have fun. KLEPPER: How do you balance being a mature adult-- PIKER: Yeah. KLEPPER: -- and also embrace anime boobs?  PIKER: I mean, anime boobs are awesome.  KLEPPER: Is that sort of the line that the left needs to walk? PIKER:  Yeah. I think people should get health care. And also, I like watching anime. Sometimes it has boobs in it, and that's cool.  KLEPPER: This is very confusing. How is Cory Booker supposed to navigate this? The Democrats are never going to reach out to a younger generation if they have to understand these nuances.  PIKER: Yeah. Well, you're not wrong.  KLEPPER: In the end, young people just want what everybody wants: leaders who connect with them. That's the good news. The bad news is there's a lot of these guys lurking out there. So while the left searches for ways to reach out to the voters they lost, I’ll do my best to bring peace and harmony.

Fee-hungry ex-lawyer puts settlement of $30 million Ashli Babbitt lawsuit at risk, court filing says

The Maryland attorney who three years ago dropped Aaron Babbitt as a client in the shooting death of his wife on Jan. 6 is endangering a final settlement of the $30 million wrongful-death lawsuit between Judicial Watch Inc. and the U.S. Department of Justice, an attorney told a District of Columbia federal court on May 19. Terrell N. Roberts III, who walked away from the case in February 2022, rejected an offer to set aside 25% of any financial settlement in a dedicated trust account while the issue of what fees, if any, Roberts is owed is determined in arbitration by the Attorney Client Arbitration Board of the District of Columbia Bar. 'We are representing Ashli’s family pro bono!' “Plaintiffs are concerned by Mr. Roberts’ role in this case, which is frustrating completion of the settlement,” said Judicial Watch attorney Robert Sticht, who represents Aaron Babbitt of San Diego and the estate of his late wife, Ashli Babbitt. Roberts wants U.S. District Judge Ana C. Reyes to decide the issue of attorney fees, arguing that arbitration could take six months. He also wants the judge to revisit her rejection of a charging lien against the settlement. — (@) The Washington Post, citing unnamed sources, claimed May 19 that the settlement agreement is for less than $5 million. Parties in the suit would not comment on the news story or the alleged amount. The Post reported incorrectly that Judicial Watch and Washington, D.C., attorney Richard Driscoll would take one-third of any settlement. “I can say, contrary to initial WPOST report, @JudicialWatch is not getting a third (or any portion) of any settlement,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton posted on X. “We are representing Ashli’s family pro bono!” Sticht now looks prophetic, as he tried to caution the news media against reporting that Judicial Watch would reap a windfall in the case. Sticht was chastised and silenced by Judge Reyes at a May 12 hearing when he tried to announce to the press listening on the court’s audio feed that Judicial Watch will take no fees from the Babbitt lawsuit. “This is crazy, and it is costing a lot of money,” Sticht said of the delays caused by the fee dispute. “And just so the court knows, for the record and all the press who may be on the telephone, Judicial Watch does not a get fee out of this settlement.” RELATED: Federal judge explodes in Ashli Babbitt court hearing as wrongful-death case slows Photo (left): John Sullivan; Photo (right): Aaron Babbitt Judge Reyes talked over Sticht and chastised him for speaking directly to the media. “Mr. Sticht, did I not just tell you that when I start talking, you stop?” Reyes snapped. Roberts represented Babbitt from shortly after Babbitt’s wife was shot to death Jan. 6 by U.S. Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd. Roberts abandoned the case in late February 2022 but has still been seeking up to 40% of the financial settlement being negotiated by Judicial Watch. Babbitt was left to find new legal counsel after Roberts fired him as a client “for cause.” Judicial Watch agreed to be bound by the decision of the arbitration board. Driscoll, who represents Aaron Babbitt for the narrow issue of the fee dispute with Roberts, filed for D.C. Bar arbitration May 9. He said now that Babbitt has asked for arbitration, both parties are required to take part under bar association rules. Under the Federal Tort Claims Act, 25% is the maximum fee allowed for all plaintiff attorneys combined. Sticht said because “the likelihood of Mr. Roberts recovering such a fee is minimal, at best, given his admittedly brief and limited involvement in the legal matter,” the 25% set-aside “protects Mr. Roberts for an inability to recover an award.” “Mr. Roberts rejected plaintiffs’ offer,” Sticht wrote in the court filing. Roberts sought a charging lien from the court against the gross amount of any settlement. Judge Reyes rejected the idea, but allowed Roberts to be an intervenor in the case for the limited purpose of keeping tabs on settlement developments. Roberts said if he is compelled to participate in arbitration, he will ask Judge Reyes to issue a stay in the lawsuit until the issue of attorney’s fees is settled. RELATED: Ashli Babbitt stood up to him — now J6er 'Helmet Boy' faces new charges Aaron Babbitt with his late wife Ashli, who turned 35 three months before she was killed on Jan. 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol. Photo courtesy of Aaron Babbitt “As a fundamental matter, arbitration is not an efficient option at this juncture,” Roberts wrote to the court. “The process could take up to six months (if not more). That is too long given that we are a hair’s breadth from a settlement. The court could more practically handle the matter of attorney’s fees in a fraction of the time it would take to arbitrate the case.” Sticht said that idea “goes well beyond the limited intervention the court permitted.” “Mr. Roberts presents no justification for why the court should reconsider these issues,” Sticht wrote. Roberts’ attempts to cash in on the lawsuit have added drama and frustration to an already tense courtroom atmosphere. Since the first hearing on the lawsuit on Aug. 6, 2024, Judge Reyes has repeatedly lost her temper with Sticht, shouting at him to “stop talking” and accusing him of giving “snide” answers to her questions. Brian Boyd, a DOJ trial attorney, said in the filing that the government supports the proposed 25% set-aside because it “is sufficient to protect Mr. Roberts’ interests.” Boyd said Judicial Watch’s agreement to abide by the arbitration panel’s decision “and disperse [sic] to Mr. Roberts that portion of the set-aside funds that ACAB determines Mr. Roberts is owed, if any, should eliminate Mr. Roberts’ concern regarding his ability to collect fees to which he is entitled.” Trial in the $30 million lawsuit is set for July 2026. The election of President Donald J. Trump last November vastly changed the DOJ’s demeanor toward the case and pushed the government toward a settlement. In the years since Babbitt was killed, President Trump has expressed support and sympathy for the Babbitt family while ripping Lt. Byrd as a “thug” and a “coward.” The president expressed his belief that Ashli Babbitt “was murdered.” Like Blaze News? America last: Hillary Clinton lets truth slip about illegal aliens and low US birth rates

Hillary Clinton mocked conservatives for pushing for higher birth rates among U.S. citizens while crediting foreign-born individuals for having larger families to advance the economy.Earlier this month, the former secretary of state gave remarks at 92NY, a Jewish community center in Manhattan, New York. While promoting her latest book, "Something Lost, Something Gained," Clinton claimed that women have been under attack by conservatives. 'One of the reasons why our economy did so much better than comparable, advanced economies across the world is because we actually had a replenishment.'In addition to the claim that there has been a "real purging of women and women in high positions," Clinton criticized conservatives for encouraging women to have more children."This very blatant effort to basically send a message, most exemplified by [JD] Vance and [Elon] Musk and others, that, you know, what we really need from you women are more children. And what that really means is you should go back to doing what you were born to do, which is to produce more children."Clinton talked about President Trump's proposed baby bonus, which she stated has not worked in other countries. She also produced unknown citations about how anti-family the administration allegedly is."They're contemplating cutting Medicaid while they have no interest in paid family leave or funding quality childcare. They're cutting Head Start," Clinton continued.Adding that she felt conservatives were engaging in a "performance" by claiming to care about families, the former first lady boldly stated that right-wingers should be happy that immigrants are providing a "replenishment" to the population.RELATED: Hillary Clinton tries to dunk on Trump over Qatar jet gift — and gets obliterated on social media Hillary Clinton and Margaret Hoover speak onstage on May 1, 2025, in New York City. Photo by Dominik Bindl/Getty Images"It's all in there. Return to the family, the nuclear family, return to being a Christian nation, return to, you know, producing a lot of children," Clinton said about the alleged conservative plan for America. "[It's] sort of odd because the people who produce the most children in our country are immigrants, and they want to deport them."Despite having just made fun of the idea that conservatives are encouraging the populace to procreate, Clinton then strangely touted the benefits of having a large family — but only for immigrants."One of the reasons why our economy did so much better than comparable, advanced economies across the world is because we actually had a replenishment, because we had a lot of immigrants legally and undocumented who had a larger than normal, by American standards, family."RELATED: The reasons Democrats won’t learn a thing from 2024 Clinton's contradictory arguments are, first and foremost, evidence that she believes in a "great replacement," reporter John F. Trent told Blaze News."She wants Americans to be replaced by immigrants, whether legal or illegal. She doesn't want women to know the joy of raising their families but would rather them locked into the soul-sucking grind of a career," Trent explained. With Clinton framing Americans having a large family as the "economic arrangements" of the 1950s while praising illegal immigrants for their contributions, there is no doubt she'd prefer American children "locked into government programming" to advance left-wing ideologies, Trent added.Like Blaze News? Cyberpunk 2077 sequel may go beyond Night City with a second metropolis

Night City remains one of the greatest and most immersive videogame metropolises ever, and there are hopes and expectations that in Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming sequel, we’ll be able to explore even more locations in and around it. Phantom Liberty already gave us a taste of that excitement. Plus, the corners of Night City we already know and love should look more visually impressive than ever, and will have likely evolved a fair bit, too. But CD Projekt Red appears to be feeling in a particularly ambitious mood, as the sequel will not only see us return to Night City, but seemingly to an all-new city as well. That’s according to comments made by Mike Pondsmith, the original creator of the Cyberpunk universe. Tempest Rising feels like a new Command and Conquer, and it just got better

It’s the eternal Command and Conquer quandary: GDI or Nod? Putting aside questions of which faction is good, which is evil, the Global Defense Initiative often seems to be better on the offensive, but if you want to dig in and sit behind your Obelisks, it’s Kane’s team all the way. This is part of what makes C&C one of the all-time RTS greats. Both sides are unique, and feel totally different to play, but they’re nevertheless carefully balanced. Inspired by Westwood’s classics, Tempest Rising feels like the closest we have to a new Command and Conquer. But balancing between its two factions, the GDF and the Dynasty, has so far been a little askew. Thanks to a big new update, that’s all changed.
