The cameo was right there – front and center – and some folks missed out on it for all these years. Everyone loves a good cameo, right? A movie, TV show, or music video can be quickly elevated by the presence of someone or something that was unexpected. Those high-profile drop ins often lead to memorable moments, though sometimes, sneaky cameos are discovered years later. Some country music fans are just now finding out that Jamey Johnson was prominently featured in Miranda Lambert’s iconic “White Liar” music video. If you’ve seen the video before and didn’t realize it, you’ll probably kick yourself when you watch it back again. Though in defense of those who didn’t notice… it makes sense that Jamey’s cameo was overlooked considering the timeline of the video and Lambert and Johnson’s respective careers. Jamey Johnson got his big break as an artist in 2008, when he released his second album That Lonesome Song, which featured “In Color” in the track list. This Miranda Lambert song was released in August of 2009, which means that Johnson probably skated by unnoticed (for the most part) probably because his rise in the country music industry was just beginning. Now armed with hindsight, it’s hard to believe that Johnson played a somewhat critical role in Lambert’s “White Liar” music video. Got it all worked out. Back on May 21, Gavin Adcock was arrested in Wilson County, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville, on charges of reckless driving and open container. According to records from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Adcock was arrested at 11:15 PM and released on a $1,000 bond at 4:34 AM. Not a bad resolution, and luckily Gavin won’t be spending any time behind bars. I don’t know where you’re from, but you need to get out of here.’ So I saw that happen, and I watched him. He goes over there and gets on his phone like a little snake. I said he’s about to do some bull. I’m up there singing ‘Cigarette.’ And he gets security to come down there, and I see them, and they are about to grab my dad, and I just run down the alley and tell them, ‘Nah, you ain’t kicking me out, he’s the one causing problems.’ So security got him, took him on his way. The summit follows Trump’s meeting with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last Friday, and potentially sets the stage for direct talks between the U.S., Ukraine, and Russia over a future peace. One result of the summit was an agreement to proceed to further talks between Russia and Ukraine. According to Trump, the next step will be a bilateral meeting between Zelensky and Putin—which could take place within two weeks, according to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz—followed by a trilateral meeting with Trump. Other topics of discussion on Monday included the vital question of security guarantees, which will be necessary for the signing of any durable peace deal. One of the common points of agreement seems to have been that the Europeans will contribute security forces to Ukraine’s defense after a deal is signed, with the U.S. playing a supporting role. “When it comes to security, [the Europeans are] willing to put people on the ground,” Trump said. “We’re willing to help them with things, especially… by air, because there’s nobody that has the kind of stuff we have.” While Trump has ruled out NATO membership for Ukraine—a condition Russia is very likely to require—NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte suggested that its Article 5 collective defense condition might serve as a model for Ukrainian security guarantees. “What we are discussing here is not NATO membership, what we are discussing here is Article 5 type of security guarantees for Ukraine and what exactly they will entail,” he said during an interview on Fox News.
