Apple’s new iPhone 17 devices don’t have an AI-powered Siri yet. It doesn’t matter.

Until now, Apple has only released what could be considered baseline AI features for its devices, like AI writing tools, summarization, generative AI images (which some complain are not very good), live translation, visual search, and Genmoji, among others.

Why Are Shaboozey And Zach Top Nominated For New Artist Of The Year For The Second Year In A Row At The CMA Awards?

Why Are Shaboozey And Zach Top Nominated For New Artist Of The Year For The Second Year In A Row At The CMA Awards?

Seems like they shouldn’t be considered “new artists” if they’ve already been nominated before… The Country Music Association announced their 2025 CMA Award nominations yesterday, with Megan Moroney, Lainey Wilson and Ella Langley leading the way with six nominations each. Reigning Entertainer of the Year winner Morgan Wallen was nominated for three awards, including once again receiving a nod for the night’s top prize along with Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Lainey Wilson and Cody Johnson, which is a little bit of a surprise because I expected Jelly Roll to be on that list (and I personally cast my vote for Eric Church, but he never gets the recognition he deserves so not a big surprise he was snubbed). But another artist who got quite a bit of love is rising traditional country superstar Zach Top, who was nominated for Song of the Year and Single of the Year for “I Never Lie,” Album of the Year for Cold Beer & Country Music, Male Vocalist of the Year, and…New Artist of the Year? Now obviously Zach is one of the newer superstars in country music, with his debut album dropping last April. But his debut single, “Sounds Like the Radio,” dropped in January of 2024 and garnered enough attention to get Zach a nomination for New Artist of the Year at last year’s CMA Awards too, although he ultimately lost to Megan Moroney in the category. And Zach isn’t even the only artist nominated in the category for the second year in a row: Shaboozey was also up for New Artist of the Year last year after the success of his monster hit, “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” So why are these guys nominated for “New” Artist of the Year two years in a row? It seems like if they were new last year…well, they’re not new anymore. It all comes down to the Country Music Association’s criteria for the award. According to the CMA: “This Award goes the artist, whether individual or a group, who is known primarily as a Country artist, who has in the eligibility period demonstrated the most significant creative growth and development in overall consumption or chart activity, live performance and/or national media recognition related to the launch of their career.” But that’s not all. The rules actually allow for two nominations for New Artist of the Year, as long as that artist hasn’t won another CMA Award yet: “Any artist who has previously won a CMA Award (except Song of the Year, Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year) or who has twice been a final nominee for the New Artist of the Year Award is ineligible for nomination.” It’s a weird quirk in the rules, but if you were wondering how an artist could be nominated as a “New Artist” two years in a row…well, there’s your answer. The 2025 CMA Awards will air live from the Bridgestone Arena on November 19 at 7 p.m. CT on ABC. The full list of nominees are as follows: Entertainer of the Year Morgan Wallen Luke Combs Lainey Wilson Cody Johnson Chris Stapleton Album of the Year Am I Okay? – Megan Moroney Producer: Kristian Bush Mix Engineer: Justin Niebank Cold Beer & Country Music – Zach Top Producer: Carson Chamberlain Mix Engineer: Matt Rovey F-1 Trillon – Post Malone Producers: Louis Bell, Charlie Handsome, Hoskins Mix Engineer: Ryan Gore I’m The Problem – Morgan Wallen Producers: Jacob Durrett, Charlie Handsome, Joey Moi Mix Engineers: Charlie Handsome, Joey Moi Whirlwind – Lainey Wilson Producer: Jay Joyce Mix Engineers: Jason Hall, Jay Joyce Male Vocalist of the Year Chris Stapleton Morgan Wallen Luke Combs Cody Johnson Zach Top Female Vocalist of the Year Lainey Wilson Ella Langley Megan Moroney Kelsea Ballerini Miranda Lambert Vocal Group of the Year Old Dominion The Red Clay Strays Little Big Town Lady A Rascal Flatts Vocal Duo of the Year Brooks & Dunn Dan + Shay Brothers Osborne The War and Treaty Maddie & Tae Single of the Year “4X4XU” – Lainey Wilson Producer: Jay Joyce Mix Engineers: Jason Hall, Jay Joyce “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma” – Luke Combs Producers: Luke Combs, Chip Matthews, Jonathan Singleton Mix Engineer: Chip Matthews “Am I Okay?” – Megan Moroney Producer: Kristian Bush Mix Engineer: Justin Niebank “I Never Lie” – Zach Top Producer: Carson Chamberlain Mix Engineer: Mat Rovey “You Look Like You Love Me” – Ella Langley ft. As today’s country-rock scene grows by the minute with the likes of Koe Wetzel, Cody Jinks, Treaty Oak Revival, Whiskey Myers, The Red Clay Strays and more, 49 Winchester has proven time and time again that they’re one of the premier acts in the subgenre. Between the combination of their perfect blend of southern rock and country, their tight live band and world-class vocals from frontman, Isaac Gibson, it’s become more and more apparent every year that the Virginia group is becoming one of the most overlooked bands in the genre today. Despite just kicking off their 2025 Leavin’ This Holler Tour a few weeks ago in Billings, Montana, on August 25th, 49 already has their sights set on 2026. Just announced, the band will be taking their electric live shows to over 18 cities in the first quarter of 2026 on their upcoming spring tour. Nashville Broadway Performer Puts A Fun Twist On Ella Langley & Riley Green’s Hit Duet, “You Look Like You Love Me”

Gotta keep it fresh. Of course, Riley Green and Ella Langley’s smash hit “You Look Like You Love Me” was (and still is) absolutely everywhere last year… from radio, to social media, the song was (and still is) everywhere, and it certainly launched Ella’s career and put her into a new stratosphere in terms of her place in mainstream country. It hit #1 at country radio, and the pair also won the CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year for “You Look Like You Love Me” last year. The song was included on Ella’s 2024 debut studio album Hungover, and became a staple in terms of her catalog, and Riley’s too. But I’ll be honest, I have heard it so many times since it was released that I can’t even remember the last time I went out of my way to play it. It’s a great song, but I got burned out on it, and don’t think I’m alone in that… but Nashville performer Ingrid Griffin, who has a TikTok account where she shows her daily life as a performer on Broadway in Nashville, has come up with a creative way to keep it interesting and fun. I mean, after two or three drunk bachelorette’s requests that song in the span of an hour, you just have to do something to make it fun for yourself… Ingrid explained that “You Look Like You Love Me” is easily one of the most requested songs she gets from visitors in the bars, but because she’s gotten so used to singing it with her friend Nick, they change it up a lot now, and I love the concept. During the line where Ella usually sings, “I handed that man a beer and looked him in the eyes…,” Ingrid changes it to any random alcoholic beverage, and Nick has to come up with something that rhymes for Riley’s part where he usually says “Well, she walked right up to me, handed me a beer. Gave me a look like, ‘Let’s get out of here.'” For example, Ingrid says one of her favorites was when she said she “handed him a shot of Jack,” and Nick responded with: “She handed me a shot of jack and gave me a look like let’s go out back.” It’s impressive to think he can always come up with a response that rhymes on the spot having no idea what Ingrid is goign to come up with, and a really fun way to get the crowd involved too: “I’m a singer in Nashville, and one of my most requested songs when I play downtown is ‘You Look Like You Love Me,’ the duet between Riley Green and Ella Langley. And a lot of times I sing with my friend Nick, so he and I are so used to that song, that to keep things interesting, instead of saying in my verse, instead of saying, ‘I handed him a beer,’ I’ll change up what drink I handed him. So like today, I said, ‘I handed him an old-fashioned.’ And what’s funny about that is in the second verse, he has to then come up with a rhyme for that. Because the real lyric is, ‘She handed me a beer, and gave me a look like let’s get out of here.’ So I kind of force him to come up with stuff, so today he said, ‘She handed me an old-fashioned, and gave me a look like, let’s see what will happen.’ And one of my other favorites, one time I said, ‘I handed him a shot of Jack,’ and he said ‘She handed me a shot of jack, and gave me a look like let’s go out back.'” Now I just need to see them do it live… maybe Riley and Ella should take some notes, too, because this is adorable: @ingrid.griffinnn He has to think of it on the spot too lol I don’t give him a warning I love this song, people always sing along which is a blast!! #youlooklikeyouloveme #ellalangleymusic #broadwaynashville #thingstodoinnashville #rileygreen ♬ original sound – Ingrid Griffin I’m sure you have it stuck in your head now, too… “You Look Like You Love Me” The post Nashville Broadway Performer Puts A Fun Twist On Ella Langley & Riley Green’s Hit Duet, “You Look Like You Love Me” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
