Scientists found fecal contamination in vape products, but context is crucial

CLAIM: A study published in October 2025 found that vaping products contained bacteria that indicated fecal contamination. RATING: TRUE. The study looked into a specific sample of vaping products in Virginia schools during the 2024-25 school year. It found some of the devices contained traces of coliform - a bacteria that indicates fecal matter contamination. However, these were devices "that had been confiscated or found on school premises," not new, unopened vapes. This indicated that contamination was due to the product's handling and storage. The researchers behind the study confirmed via email that no contamination was found in the unopened products they tested.

Fact Check Team: Inflation cools on paper, but grocery expenses still strain Americans

Trump says pause on asylum decisions will last 'a long time'

President Donald Trump doubled down on his anti-immigration policies on Nov. 30, saying his administration's pause on processing of all asylum applications has "no time limit, but it could be a long time." "We don't want those people. We have enough problems," Trump told reporters on board Air Force One. "Many of them are no good and they shouldn't be in our country."

Donald Trump Gives Update on Denaturalizing US Citizens

President Donald Trump has suggested his administration is exploring whether it has the legal authority to revoke U.S. citizenship from naturalized immigrants who have been convicted of crimes, following last week's National Guard shooting. Speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One on November 30, Trump linked the review to what he described as gaps in the current naturalization and vetting system.

Trump says he would 'absolutely' revoke citizenship from naturalized criminals — if he has the authority

President Donald Trump on Sunday said his administration's halt on asylum processing in the wake of the deadly National Guard shooting earlier this week could last "a long time" and floated the possibility of revoking citizenship from some naturalized immigrants with criminal histories. While the administration has framed the asylum freeze as an emergency response to Wednesday's shooting, the president's comments to reporters aboard Air Force One suggest the restrictions could evolve into a longer-term approach.
