Joe Biden Doesn’t Give A S*** About You

Joe Biden’s campaign strategy in 2024 is really puzzling. He has not been running to the middle. He has not been trying to unite the country. Biden’s campaign strategy is apparently now completely banking on people believing that Joe Biden is a sympathetic elderly man who genuinely cares about people. It’s a weird strategy, but you have to understand why Joe Biden is employing it. When it comes to presidential elections since 2008, there have been three types of elections. One: Unity Elections. Elections where the referendum was about unity. Are we going to come together as a country? Who’s the kind of person who can unify us? Two: Revolution Elections. Let’s overturn what has existed previously and completely revamp the system. Three: Cares-About-Me Elections. Elections in which the level of how much compassion the candidate supposedly has for you decides the election. 2008 was a Unity Election. Barack Obama campaigned as, “I am the great unifier. I am not black, not white, no red America, blue America. There is just America.” That was a Unity Election. We would all come together. We would end our racial conflagrations by electing a half-black president who, in his very personage, embodied the American Dream. Weirdly enough, 2020 was also a Unity Election. The 2020 election took place in the middle of massive riots and a huge controversy about COVID-19. So the question for the American people was, who can bring us together? Who can restore some sense of calm, tranquility, and social fabric? People opted for Joe Biden in that election, mainly because Donald Trump seemed to be incredibly volatile. WATCH: The Ben Shapiro Show So, 2008 and 2020 were about calmness and unity, although that’s not what emerged from them. A Revolution Election occurred in 2016, when the American people were deeply unhappy with the way the country was going, and they wanted a revolution. That revolution was Donald Trump.  Then, there is the Cares-About-Me Election, situations where the candidate who was perceived as most caring won. There have not been that many of these in American history, but it was the campaign Barack Obama ran in 2012. The truth was that Obama did not care about people who opposed him. Those people, for him, were bad. But he believed he had a coalition of people who had great personal and emotional connection with him, and he would drive to victory on that basis. Now, if you’re Joe Biden, what kind of election do you want 2024 to be? It’s very difficult for him to run on unity because he has not unified the country as president. Biden has been president for three years. Not only is the country not unified, but things are also far worse than when he took over. By virtually every metric, he can’t run a unity election. He also can’t run a Revolution Election. He’s not Bernie Sanders. He was elected to be a moderate and, not only that, but how do you run a Revolution Election against yourself? Revolution Elections are typically won by the non-incumbent party because you have to be overturning something. That leaves Biden with only one kind of election he can run: a Cares-About-Me Election. This is evident in Joe Biden’s tactics over the last few weeks. Virtually everything he has done is geared toward this particular line: He cares about people like you. To understand why this is a failing strategy for Biden, the nature of the past few American elections is critical to understand. The 2012 election is the election that Biden clearly wants to copy. Barack Obama, an incumbent president who won by a large number of votes in 2008, won reelection in 2012, despite losing five million votes in the popular vote from the previous election. The question is about how Obama won. It wasn’t on the basis of his policy. His policies were incredibly unpopular at the time. It turns out that by all of the available exit polling, Barack Obama beat Mitt Romney in 2012 on one metric: Who cares more about people like you? ABC News exit polling in 2012 showed Obama beat Romney by “a whopping 63 points” when it came to which candidate cared more about you. Exit polling from the Washington Post in 2016 showed the one factor where Donald Trump skunked Hillary Clinton in 2016: By 82-14, Trump demolished her on who could bring needed change. A Revolution Election. In 2020, Biden beat Trump 75-24 in who could unite the country and 68-26 on who had better judgment. Trump beat Biden 72-28 on who was a strong leader and 50-49 on “cares about people like me.” That was a sea change for the Republican Party. Better than any Republican candidate in living memory, Trump has made a significant slice of the electorate — blue-collar, white Americans — believe that he cares about people like them. A huge percentage of the electorate believes the Democratic Party has abandoned them, and Trump makes them feel connected to him. That is because he connects with them on an emotional level. When Trump is at events, he connects with people on a one-to-one level. He speaks the language they speak. But in 2020, that wasn’t enough because there was so much chaos, and the American people believed the qualities of a uniter and of good judgment were more important than those of a strong leader and one who cared about people like them.  But now, it’s 2024 and Biden has no choice — because the shift toward Trump has been so marked.  When it comes to the candidate who “has good judgment,” Biden has failed signally. He has fallen off dramatically in those categories. An April 2024 Gallup poll asked who “displays good judgment in a crisis,” and Trump won 45-40. CNN exit polling in 2020 had Biden leading Trump 68-26 in the category of good judgment. That means there has been a massive 47-point swing toward Trump. Biden has to rely on the Cares-About-Me Election because this time, the election can’t be a Revolution Election and it also can’t be a Unity Election. The big problem for him is convincing people that an 80-year-old senile man who stumbles into walls, yells at people on a regular basis, and is crotchety and nasty to people around him, cares about people like them. Does anyone look at Biden and think, “He cares about people like me”? His hand-holding routine — the sympathy limned as, “This is a man who knows what it’s like to suffer, and he’s suffered just like you suffered” — was much better 20 years ago. How many times can you drag out the Beau Biden story in the wrong context before you stop looking sympathetic and you start looking manipulative? And how do you claim that you are the party of caring when the vast majority of Americans are not happy with the situation and your strategy is to appeal to your radical base? Joe Biden is not capable of winning a Cares-About-Me Election. When you read off a teleprompter, “I care about you,” it doesn’t work.

The Bee-pocalypse: Another Scare Story the Media Got Wrong

Have you heard about the “bee-pocalypse?” My new video explains. Honeybees are dying! It’s another environmental crisis we’re supposed to worry about. The media call it “bee-pocalypse” and “bee-mageddon!” A YouTube video with 15 million views says bee-mageddon “could lead to millions of people starving!” Even Fox News shrieked, “Do you like to eat? The disappearance of honeybees could have a drastic impact on our nation’s food supply!” It’s nonsense. Now, it’s true that, about 20 years ago, many American bees did die. Beekeepers opened hives and found their bees gone. Scientists called it “colony collapse disorder.” No one knows what caused it. After the initial dramatic reports, it’s steadily diminished. But media hysteria hasn’t. Beekeepers adjusted to colony collapse. They divided remaining colonies to make new hives. Bee numbers increased by millions. “We’re not in any way facing an apocalypse,” says Science journalist Jon Entine. “Things have never been better in terms of the numbers of bees.” Entine runs the Genetic Literacy Project, which challenges scientific misinformation. I remind him that the media continue to run scare stories. “Bees are dying at an alarming rate,” says NBC. CNN headlines: “Bee Population is Dying ... the food we eat is at risk.” It’s so stupid. “They could have just Googled bee population and they would’ve seen them going up?” I ask. “Absolutely,” responds Entine, “it’s farcical.” In 2013, Time Magazine’s cover predicted “A World Without Bees”! “I don’t remember seeing Time apologize,” I tell Entine. “Time has not even written a new article that puts this in science perspective,” he responds. Nor did The New York Times magazine correct its cover story on “The Insect Apocalypse.” They just “skipped on to another ‘crisis.’” “There’s always a scare,” I point out. “Catastrophe, exaggeration,” he says, “That gets the clicks.” Entine complains that the media rarely interview serious scientists for its scare stories. “They have the Environmental Working Group or Pesticide Action Network framing these issues ... Hysteria generates donations. The oxygen for these organizations is money.” Sadly, “Many of these (environment) groups harm people.” How? By convincing gullible politicians to ban fertilizers and new pesticides even though the new chemicals are usually safer. For example, even with worldwide honeybee populations at record highs, the European Union prohibited the use of noenicitinoids, a common insecticide, out of fear they might kill bees. That means farmers use older, more dangerous chemicals that actually do kill bees.  But why use these chemicals at all? I push back at Entine, “‘Natural’ food advocates say: ‘Organic! You don’t have to have chemicals! Buy organic and you don’t get them!” Entine laughs and says, “They use chemicals extensively! It’s not like organic farmers can sprinkle organic fairy dust to get rid of insects and weeds.” Instead, they use “natural” chemicals “like copper sulfate,” he says, “one of the most toxic chemicals in the world!” Sri Lanka’s president listened to activists and banned chemical fertilizers. Suddenly, farms produced much less food. Prices rose 80%. Sri Lankans invaded the presidential mansion and the president fled his country. The new government re-legalized chemical fertilizers. Only then could the crisis end. “This attack on industrial chemicals,” says Entine, “is really a way for the environmental industry, industry is what it is, to go after what they call big (agriculture), big corporations. It’s an anti-capitalist movement.” The anti-capitalists oppose genetically modified organisms (GMOs). They’ve persuaded most European countries to basically ban GMO crops. But genetic modification allows farmers to grow more food on less land. It creates plants resistant to disease and insects. That allows farmers to use fewer pesticides. That’s good for everyone, especially poor people. In Bangladesh, scientists invented a GMO eggplant. “It decreased use of chemicals by 85%,” says Entine. “Allowing women and children who do most of the farming to live a much more viable life. We have to be smart about these things!” “We’re not being smart,” I note. “No,” he says, “We’re following an outdated 40-year-old environmental script that doesn’t work in this technologically innovative world. ... They hurt the very people they claim to help.” Modern chemicals and GMOs make our food cheaper and safer. Deceitful money-hungry environmental groups won’t acknowledge that.

He’s ‘Trash’: The View Tries to Pressure Radio Host to Endorse Biden

For the second time in a week, the liberal ladies of The View were told to go pound sand by a guest after they tried to pressure them into becoming a shill for President Biden’s reelection effort like they were. On Wednesday’s show, they spoke with radio host Charlamagne the God and wanted him to do more for Biden than say former President Trump was a danger to democracy and unfit for office. Proclaiming she wanted the conversation to “get real,” staunchly racist and anti-Semitic co-host Sunny Hostin (the descendant of slave owners) decried Charlamagne for not endorsing Biden this time around: Now, you have a massive platform reaching millions of listeners – and you and I have talked about it before – you endorsed Joe Biden back in 2020, but this time around you say you're not going to endorse anybody. Charlamagne, now is not the time in my opinion to sit this one out! “I didn’t say that. I never said I was sitting it out,” Charlamagne shot back. “I'm definitely voting on November, but what I like to focus on issues not individuals…”     Hostin interrupted and continued to harangue their guest about not endorsing their candidate (Click “expand”): HOSTIN: But why not endorse? CHARLAMAGNE: Huh? HOSITN: Why not endorse Biden? CHARLAMAGNE: Because if I'm sitting here telling my listeners that you have somebody out there who is a threat to democracy, you have somebody out is there who said they want to, you know, suspend the Constitution to overthrow the results of an election; and you saw this person try to lead an attempted coup of this country and I'm telling people this guy is a threat to democracy, have you ever read "Project 25." There's only two candidates out there. So, if I'm saying that about this individual, the choice is clear, right? And I – [Applause] And I've seen you do this on The View before. I saw y’all do this to Killer Mike when he was on The View… “Why do y'all need us to say this if we don't feel comfortable saying it?” he wanted to know. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg interjected to explain “It's not that we need you to say it but other folks need to hear…” Without evidence, Goldberg whined that the media was somehow not helping Biden out enough. She asserted that “getting facts out through the media has been very -- seems to be very difficult…” “I feel like I've just spewed some facts,” Charlamagne scoffed; drawing swift rebuke from Goldberg and Hostin: GOLDBERG: Yes, but we need you to do it on your show. HOSTIN: Yes, but an endorsement from you will matter. “Well, the reality is I think both candidates are trash,” Charlamagne announced. “I am going to vote in November and I'm going to vote my best interest and I'm going to vote who I think can preserve democracy. So, if I think both are trash and don't feel like endorsing one, would you rather me endorse the individual or endorse the fact that we need to go out here and protect democracy?” At one point, he noted that “it feels like [Biden’s] base is pretty pissed off at him for a number of reasons” and that it could hurt his chances of getting reelected. “Help him out! Help him out!” Hostin shouted at him. Charlamagne laughed and asked: “Help him out by doing what?” The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: ABC’s The View May 22, 2024 11:36:58 a.m. Eastern (…) SUNNY HOSTIN: Let’s get real. Now, you have a massive platform reaching millions of listeners – and you and I have talked about it before – you endorsed Joe Biden back in 2020, but this time around you say you're not going to endorse anybody. Charlamagne, now is not the time in my opinion to sit this one out! CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD: I didn’t say that. I never said I was sitting it out. HOSTIN: What you going to do? CHARLAMAGNE: I'm definitely voting on November, but what I like to focus on issues not individuals, like, you know, when you have – HOSTIN: But why not endorse? I saw y’all do this to Killer Mike when he was on The View and Killer Mike literally sat here and said, “Hey, you know, I supported Keisha Lance Bottoms, I supported Ralph Warnock, I supported Jon Ossoff in Georgia.” He said, “you should support the people that I've supported -- You should support the person who the people I supported are supporting.” That's y'all opportunity to say, “Well, clearly, he's talking about President Biden.” Why do y'all need us to say this if we don't feel comfortable saying it? WHOOPI GOLDBERG: No. No. It's not that we need you to say it but other folks need to hear because, you know, one of the things -- I'm sorry, I just jumped you. I’m sorry. But one of the things that we've been talking about is the fact that getting facts out through the media has been very -- seems to be very difficult, because -- CHARLAMAGNE: I feel like I've just spewed some facts. GOLDBERG: Yes, but we need you to do it on your show. HOSTIN: Yes, but an endorsement from you will matter. CHARLAMAGNE: Well, the reality is I think both candidates are trash. So, because I'm -- but I am going to vote in November and I'm going to vote my best interest and I'm going to vote who I think can preserve democracy. So, if I think both are trash and don't feel like endorsing one, would you rather me endorse the individual or endorse the fact that we need to go out here and protect democracy? ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: By the way, I think it's incredibly powerful to use your platform just to draw the contrast. I actually tend to agree that I don't think an endorsement is somehow more powerful than reminding folks the other person tried to overturn our democracy. That breaks through. But I got to ask you, because you're kind of one of these, we call them double haters. I don't like to – use the phrase. CHARLAMAGNE: Double haters? FARAH GRIFFIN: Double haters. Like not thrilled with Biden or Trump. HOSTIN: I’ve never heard of that! [Crosstalk] CHARLAMAGNE: I thought that was just being called an American nowadays if you look at the polls. People don't seem to be too pleased with either one of them. FARAH GRIFFIN: I’m right there with you. You've called this a race between crooks, cowards, and the couch. CHARLAMAGNE: That’s right. FARAH GRIFFIN: And Democrats are losing the messaging game. CHARLAMAGNE: Well, let’s be clear about who I say are the crooks. I say Republicans are the crooks, I say Democrats are the cowards, and I say the couch is voter apathy. And I feel like, you know, right now it looks like voter apathy may win. But who’s fault is that? It that our fault or is it the candidates? FARAH GRIFFIN: Well, I'm curious at this juncture, six months out, who do you think wins? CHARLAMAGNE: Oh, I have no idea. I mean, that's like -- it's a toss-up at this point. I really don't know. I think the person who goes out there and probably energizes their base the best at this point. And, you know, when you look at somebody like President Biden, it feels like his base is pretty pissed off at him for a number of reasons. HOSTIN: Help him out! Help him out! CHARLAMAGNE: [Laughter] Help him out by doing what? (…)

I ran my slowest marathon ever because I didn’t listen to ChatGPT

I told you recently that I ran my first marathon using AirPods 2 and Apple Watch SE and that I trained for it with the help of ChatGPT. So, why was my first marathon slower than expected? That's simple, actually, and something I'll prove in this post: I didn't stick to ChatGPT's training regimen, and I paid the price after some 34 km (21 miles) into the race. I completed the marathon race limping as pain started kicking in. I knew I only had myself to blame. Had I stuck to the training plan, I'm sure I'd have gotten a much faster time. I actually knew this going into the race, that I wouldn't hit my target time. I didn't anticipate the pain that impacted the final quarter of the marathon. Continue reading...
