JUST IN: ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ Moves Forward In Unexpected Late-Night Move

Millions of Americans feared that GOP lawmakers had fumbled their opportunity to pass a comprehensive budget bill when the legislation supported by President Donald Trump failed to pass due to the “no” votes of a handful of House Republicans. Days later, however, legislators reconvened for a surprise late-night session on Sunday and advanced what Trump has long referred to as the “Big Beautiful Bill.” According to The Hill: Republican deficit hawks allowed President Trump’s bill of legislative priorities to advance out of the House Budget Committee in an unusual late-night vote on Sunday, marking a key hurdle cleared for House GOP leaders and a sign of progress for warring Republican factions After gaveling in after 10 p.m. on Sunday, the committee voted 17-16 to advance the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” which would extend Trump’s tax cuts and boost his border funding priorities while reforming Medicaid and food assistance programs. The four Republican holdouts who had tanked the vote on Friday — Reps. Ralph Norman (S.C.), Chip Roy (Texas), Andrew Clyde (Ga.), and Josh Brecheen (Okla.) — voted present to allow the bill to go forward, with Roy revealing that there was progress on moving up the start date for new Medicaid work requirements and speeding up the phase-out of green energy incentives. In a sign of the high-stakes nature of the vote, the Speaker as well as White House Legislative Affairs Director James Braid made appearances off a room to the side of the late night Budget Committee affair. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said they are counting the vote “as a big win tonight.” News of the progress quickly spread via social media: #BREAKING: President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, which includes NO TAX ON TIPS, has officially PASSED the House Budget Committee This is a HUGE win for President Trump! pic.twitter.com/vv3ZCzAXzK — Nick Sortor (@nicksortor) May 19, 2025 BREAKING: President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” passes the House Budget Committee. 21-16 vote. pic.twitter.com/uoNrRDWF3D — Benny Johnson (@bennyjohnson) May 19, 2025 At 12:42 AM ET President Trump is still awake, posting his congratulations to House Republicans for advancing the One Big Beautiful Bill out of committee. The man is a machine. pic.twitter.com/r8whIh5vut — Charlie Kirk (@charliekirk11) May 19, 2025 The congressional move came just hours after former GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy called out members of his own party for tanking the legislation in the first place. According to the New York Post: McCarthy accused the fiscal-hawk pols of prioritizing their own interests and warned that it was a “real misstep” as the rest of the party pushes to get Trump’s sweeping marquee agenda package through Congress. “The stock market seems like it is moving up. Now, if Congress can start doing the things that President Trump’s doing, it would even help us more,” McCarthy told “Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770 AM. “[It] was a real misstep on the Republicans’ part, in the budget side, that four of them looked out for themselves instead of moving the bill along, reconciliation.” And here’s some additional coverage:

President Trump Reacts To Biden’s Cancer Diagnosis

The political world has spent the past day absorbing the news the Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. And while it’s safe to say that at least some of President Donald Trump’s critics would celebrate if he were sick, he was nevertheless kind and compassionate when offering words of encouragement to his former rival. According to The Hill: “Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.” Trump’s message came shortly after Biden’s personal office announced the former president’s diagnosis. “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management,” his office said in a statement. “The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.” Trump joins other Republicans who were quick to share their sympathies with the Biden family following the news. Here’s a sampling of the support Biden has received from across the political spectrum since the news broke over the weekend: Doug and I are saddened to learn of President Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis. We are keeping him, Dr. Biden, and their entire family in our hearts and prayers during this time. Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and… pic.twitter.com/gG5nB0GMPp — Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) May 18, 2025 I didn’t like pResident Joe Biden either, but I wouldn’t wish cancer on anybody. I wish him nothing but the very best care. Praying for the Biden family. pic.twitter.com/SbkZLqxXLn — Sassafrass84 (@Sassafrass_84) May 18, 2025 Despite the well wishes, however, there has also been plenty of speculation about a possible coverup dating back to Biden’s term in the White House: Urologist Dr. Shusterman says it’s “unheard of” for someone with Biden’s level of care to not know he had prostate cancer 5–10 years ago. It was a full-on coverup: “It’s very unlikely that someone could get annual checkups and not notice.” “He is a former president, had… pic.twitter.com/L7tSGp9fPg — Benny Johnson (@bennyjohnson) May 19, 2025 Here’s a full transcript of the post above: Urologist Dr. Shusterman says it’s “unheard of” for someone with Biden’s level of care to not know he had prostate cancer 5–10 years ago. It was a full-on coverup: “It’s very unlikely that someone could get annual checkups and not notice.” “He is a former president, had intensive state of the art care.. It’s unusual to hear that someone has prostate cancer when they’re annually being followed up. The fact that we find it at a Gleason 9 is unheard of.” “Most likely had it for a long time.. Aggressive prostate cancer grows over a long period of time. Five to ten years.. in the most aggressive form.” “Definitely evidence that he knew about this for a while.” Fox News covered Barack Obama’s response… “Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family. Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery,” Obama noted in posts on social media. Biden served as vice president during Obama’s White House tenure from early 2009 through early 2017. …as well as a statement from the Clintons: “My friend Joe Biden’s always been a fighter. Hillary and I are rooting for him and are keeping him, Jill, and the entire family in our thoughts,” former President Bill Clinton noted. “I’m thinking of the Bidens as they take on cancer, a disease they’ve done so much to try to spare other families from. Wishing you a speedy, full recovery,” former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who lost the 2016 presidential election to Donald Trump, said in social media posts. The following clip has been circulating widely in response to the news: In 2022 Biden said he had cancer. We were told it was just a “gaffe.” How long did they know for? Who decided to cover it up? These people lied to our faces for four years. They need to be held accountable! pic.twitter.com/c5Leu5xgPI — Libs of TikTok (@libsoftiktok) May 18, 2025

Biden’s Timely Cancer Announcement Should Have Come Sooner

Joe Biden likely had cancer while he allegedly served as President. He said he did in 2022. His brother said he did last July. Biden must come clean as he faces his maker. Dr. Steven Quay, scientist and physician, has studied cancer for decades. He believes it is highly unlikely Joe’s cancer appeared suddenly. Morning Brief: Biden Health Revelations & Israel Lays Into Hamas

Former President Joe Biden is suffering from an “aggressive” form of cancer. Hamas says it is ready to resume talks after massive strikes by Israel, and, as the UK struggles with the effects of mass migration, Britain’s liberal prime minister makes a major reversal. It’s Monday, May 19, and this is the news you need to know to start your day. Morning Wire is available on video! You can watch today’s episode here:     If you’d rather listen to your news, today’s edition of the Morning Wire podcast can be heard below:   Biden Reveals Cancer Diagnosis Amid Bombshell Reports Of Cognitive Decline Topline: On Sunday, former President Joe Biden’s staff announced that the 82-year-old had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer on the heels of renewed public interest in his physical and mental decline. A Biden spokesman revealed that an exam last month found a small nodule on his prostate, and further examination revealed it to be an “aggressive” form of cancer and that it has spread to his bones. Prostate cancer that has metastasized to the bones has a ~33% 5-year survival rate, and the median life expectancy after diagnosis is 21 months. The one silver lining is that it appears to be “hormone-sensitive,” making it more treatable. After former President Biden dropped out of the race last summer, Democrat leaders made a concerted effort to shift their focus away from the president and toward Kamala Harris and other prominent, younger lawmakers. But a new book from Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson offers explosive details of “President Biden’s decline, its cover-up and his disastrous choice to run again.” The revelations have set Washington ablaze and brought the former president’s decline back into the national conversation. Remember: The White House spent four years condemning anyone who questioned his cognitive fitness, labeling videos of his mental missteps “cheap fakes” and essentially gaslighting those who said he seemed off. According to numerous administration and campaign officials, both on and off the record, Biden’s physical deterioration was so severe that some of his closest advisers believed he would need to use a wheelchair if re-elected. While Biden’s staff routinely assured the American people that behind closed doors, he was running laps around his staff, numerous officials now say that due to his old age, he was limited to a six-hour work window, typically from 10 am to 4 pm, with time often scheduled for naps. As this new evidence has come to light, Democratic leaders have come out on the record saying Biden never should have run for re-election and that his mental state was clearly compromised. But it’s important to note how different that message is from what we heard from them when he was actually in power: Former Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas: The most difficult part about a meeting with Joe Biden is preparing for it. Because he is sharp, intensely probing and detail oriented and focused. Former Attorney General Merrick Garland: “I have watched him expertly guide meetings of staff and cabinet members. I could not have more confidence in the president.” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY): “It’s as good as it’s been over the years I’ve been, he’s fine. All this right-wing propaganda that his mental acuity has declined is wrong.” Illinois Governor JB Pritzker (D): “He is on the ball. The man knows more than most of us have forgotten.”   Israel Launches New Offensive; Hamas Returns To Diplomatic Talks Topline:  Israel forces Hamas back to the bargaining table after a new ground offensive. In a new operation, called Operation Gideon’s Chariots, Israeli troops moved into portions of northern and southern Gaza while the air force launched hundreds of strikes against terrorists. Israel’s objectives have been the same since the war began: to free the hostages and destroy Hamas. Over the weekend, Israel made measurable progress toward both of those goals. According to a Hamas spokesman, the terror group decided to return to the negotiating table without preconditions.  An Israeli official told Israel’s I24 News that talks in Qatar are “intense” but still short of a “breakthrough.” While officials are more optimistic than last week, it’s still unclear if a deal can be reached.” One possible agreement, proposed by US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, would secure the release of 10 hostages.  Israeli officials believe 23 of the October 7 hostages that remain in Hamas’ custody are still alive, although there are concerns that three of them are in critical condition. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has said he is willing to end the war altogether, but only if Hamas surrenders and Gaza is disarmed. The Israeli official said the delegation in Qatar “won’t be there forever. If there won’t be progress shortly, we will progress in the fighting.” Over the weekend, Israeli planes carried out at least 670 strikes against Hamas terror targets. Dozens of terrorists are reportedly dead, and one of those might have been Hamas’ head of military operations, Mohammed Sinwar – the brother of Yahya Sinwar, who led Hamas until Israeli forces killed him in October. New documents have also shed light on what inspired the October 7 terror attack on Israel that began this war. The Wall Street Journal got a peek at the minutes of an October 2, 2023, meeting of Hamas’s political leadership, which show that this attack that had been years in the making, was launched less than a week later to disrupt Israeli-Saudi relations. Israel and Saudi Arabia were close to normalizing relations under the Abraham Accords from President Donald Trump’s first term. According to the minutes, Yahya Sinwar was concerned that normalizing relations between the Saudis and Israelis would “open the door for the majority of Arab and Islamic countries to follow the same path.” So – with Iran’s approval – Hamas launched the attack to “bring about … a strategic shift in the paths and balances of the region with regard to the Palestinian cause.” In his second term, President Trump has continued to try to bring Israel and Saudi Arabia together. In his recent visit to the Middle East, the president said, “It’s my fervent hope, wish, and even my dream that Saudi Arabia, a place I have such respect for… will soon be joining the Abraham Accords.”   UK’s Left-Wing Prime Minister Makes An About-Face On Immigration Topline: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has made a landmark speech in which he attacked mass migration and said his government would significantly reduce it. At a press conference unveiling his government’s new policy, Prime Minister Starmer said that he wanted to “take back control of our borders,” calling the previous era of mass immigration “squalid.” He blamed the previous Conservative government for the significant increase in immigration since 2021, which saw net migration quadruple. In 2023, migration was more than 1 million, which is nearly the same size as Birmingham, the second-largest city in the country. Starner called this a “one-nation experiment in open borders,” warning that Britain risked becoming an “island of strangers.”  “When you have an immigration system that seems designed to permit abuse, bring in lower paid workers, sold by politicians on a false premise, then you are not championing growth or justice!” Starmer said. “You’re actually contributing to the forces that are slowly pulling our country apart.” Although he praised diversity and described migration as part of “Britain’s story,” Starmer said that immigrants should commit to integrating, including learning English. He also extended the period required to apply for permanent settlement from five years to 10. “That will reassure a lot of people who were worried that the millions of low-skilled immigrants who have come here in the last few years would soon be eligible for settlement, at which point they could fully access the welfare state,” Guy Dampier of the Prosperity Institute told The Daily Wire. “Immigration policy in Britain has been dominated for the last few decades by the idea that immigration was good for the economy and that it was only illegal immigration which was the problem. So this is a major rhetorical shift.” The ideological pivot provoked outrage within the Labour Party’s left-wing base – many party activists resigned, and some sitting members of parliament condemned their party leader’s speech. However, polling indicates that public support for reducing immigration is quite high. “In a lot of ways the Prime Minister is reflecting the mood of the country, rather than driving it,” Dampier told The Daily Wire. “And which the anti-immigration Reform party (led by Nigel Farage) did very well in. So some people think this is an attempt to win back voters and stem the collapse in popularity. For people on the right, this was something of a vindication. The Prime Minister said things they have argued for years.”
