Trump Calls For ‘Major Investigation’ Into Kamala Over ‘Unlawful’ Celebrity Endorsements

President Donald Trump on Monday called for a “major investigation” into former Vice President Kamala Harris over accusations that she paid for the endorsements of celebrities like Bruce Springsteen and Beyoncé during her failed presidential campaign.  In an early morning Truth Social post, Trump claimed Harris illegally paid for high-profile endorsements.  “HOW MUCH DID KAMALA HARRIS PAY BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN FOR HIS POOR PERFORMANCE DURING HER CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT? WHY DID HE ACCEPT THAT MONEY IF HE IS SUCH A FAN OF HERS? ISN’T THAT A MAJOR AND ILLEGAL CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION? WHAT ABOUT BEYONCÉ? …AND HOW MUCH WENT TO OPRAH, AND BONO??? I am going to call for a major investigation into this matter,” Trump wrote.   “Candidates aren’t allowed to pay for ENDORSEMENTS, which is what Kamala did, under the guise of paying for entertainment,” he added. “In addition, this was a very expensive and desperate effort to artificially build up her sparse crowds. IT’S NOT LEGAL! For these unpatriotic ‘entertainers,’ this was just a CORRUPT & UNLAWFUL way to capitalize on a broken system. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!” Springsteen, who performed at an October rally for Harris in Atlanta, has been attacking the Trump administration during his concerts in recent weeks.  “In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about, that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration,” Springsteen said at a concert last week in England. “Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experiment to rise with us, raise your voices against authoritarianism and let freedom ring!”  The Harris campaign has previously come under scrutiny for large payments made to the production companies of celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé, and LeBron James.  The Washington Free Beacon reported last month that Harris’s campaign paid James’s production company $50,000 for “campaign event production.” While James did not appear at any Harris events, he did post a social media video endorsing Harris and suggesting that Trump was a racist.  Similarly, the Harris campaign paid Beyonce’s production company $165,000 and Oprah’s production company $1 million. Beyonce spoke briefly at a Harris campaign event in Houston while Oprah did a sit-down interview with Harris in Chicago.

Spin Cycle: The Fix Is In, And There Was No Fix

With just days to go before the release of “Original Sin” — a book exploring former President Joe Biden’s obvious cognitive decline from Jake Tapper (CNN) and Alex Thompson (Axios) — everyone on the Sunday political shows was talking about Biden, who knew what, and when they knew it. For those who don’t spend their Sunday mornings glued to the television — and their Sunday afternoons attempting to dig through a week’s worth of network and cable news media spin — The Daily Wire has compiled a short summary of what you may have missed. If one were to simply watch those interviews cold, not having lived through four years of a Biden presidency or seen dozens of speeches and interviews even from midway through his single term, one might be inclined to believe the pundits and elected Democrats when they insisted that Biden was absolutely fine at least until his disaster of a televised debate with President Donald Trump — and, according to at least one, he might even still be fine. But Democrats and pundits said those things to an audience made up of Americans who did watch Biden as he repeatedly got lost on stage, tripped up the stairs of Air Force One, alternately shouted and whispered at awkward times, and lost his train of thought on a regular basis. Still, they committed to the narrative — Biden was definitely at his best until maybe the debate, and there was no reason for anyone to suggest otherwise or believe that anyone was covering up Biden’s condition. On ABC’s “This Week,” Rep. Ro Khanna insisted that there was no cover-up, but also said that the people who had been closest to President Biden during the last year or so of his presidency owed the American people “an explanation — but he did not clarify why they needed to explain if they were not covering anything up. “It’s painfully obvious President Biden should not have run,” Khanna said. “It’s painfully obvious President Biden should not have run.” Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna said there wasn’t a cover-up of former Pres. Biden mental fitness ahead of the 2024 election, but added those close to Biden and his advisers “owe an explanation.” https://t.co/MTbOVJxR88 pic.twitter.com/9UJQqpL4gF — This Week (@ThisWeekABC) May 18, 2025 During a panel discussion later on in the broadcast, former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile claimed that since she had lost a step or two with age, it was totally fine for the same thing to have happened to Biden. “I’m going to stick by Joe Biden. And look, we all — I don’t have the pep in my step that I used to have,” she said. On questions of former Pres. Biden’s mental fitness ahead of the 2024 election, former DNC chair @DonnaBrazile says, “I’m going to stick by Joe Biden. And look, we all — I don’t have the pep in my step that I used to have.”https://t.co/KJmZwLyqkW pic.twitter.com/yPGHteC3gZ — This Week (@ThisWeekABC) May 18, 2025 Former Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus pushed back, noting that conservatives had been repeatedly mocked and gaslighted — not to mention shut down by legacy media hosts — when they stated the obvious about the president’s declining faculties. “People were put to shame — me and others out there — that talked about Joe Biden’s mental acuity … The fact is they were managing his decline in a nursing home in the White House,” he said. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) took time out from defending criminal illegal alien gang members to address the recently released audio from Biden’s interview with former Special Counsel Robert Hur — which he said shed light on a problem that no one had been aware of at the time. “Obviously, if we could redo this tape and play it over again, we would do things differently,” Van Hollen said. “I think we can acknowledge that this was a — people overlooked a serious problem or were just not aware.” “Hindsight is 20/20,” Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) says of the audio tapes that have been released of then-President Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur, highlighting Biden’s memory lapses at the time. “Obviously, if we could redo this tape and play it over again,… pic.twitter.com/iITJ2PC9aH — Face The Nation (@FaceTheNation) May 18, 2025 Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) took a similar approach on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” saying that Democrats might have encouraged Biden to exit the 2024 presidential race sooner if only they had known. Murphy also said that Democrats had been wrong to brush off voters’ concerns about Biden’s acuity during the 2024 election cycle. In an exclusive interview with Meet the Press, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) says that former President Biden should have exited the 2024 race earlier as newly released audio tapes renew concerns over Biden’s health and fitness while in office. https://t.co/KU1cqLKcHR pic.twitter.com/mTJHsYG5rI — Meet the Press (@MeetThePress) May 18, 2025 Rep. James Clyburn took things to a whole different level on CNN’s “State of the Union,” telling anchor Jake Tapper that he wasn’t even sure Biden would be incapable of serving a second term in the White House. “Yes, I thought [he could serve another term] back then. I still think that, but I don’t know that,” he said. .@RepJamesClyburn on whether he still believes President Biden could have served another term: “Yes, I thought that back then. I still think that, but I don’t know that.” pic.twitter.com/hfRtH5REyl — State of the Union (@CNNSOTU) May 18, 2025 As to Biden’s disastrous debate performance, Clyburn continued to play defense. “Whether or not that was just an incident or whether that was a condition that was being kept from people, we have no way of knowing which one was true,” he claimed. .@RepJamesClyburn reflects on Biden’s disastrous 2024 debate performance: “Whether or not that was just an incident or whether that was a condition that was being kept from people, we have no way of knowing which one was true.” pic.twitter.com/Sso7mSltX0 — State of the Union (@CNNSOTU) May 18, 2025 Van Jones and David Axelrod were less magnanimous to Biden, his White House, and the party that enabled him. “There are people who knew and said nothing, and that is a crime against this Republic,” Jones said. “I blame the people around him,” Axelrod added. “Real loyalty demanded that they say, ‘Mr. President, it’s just not there and it’s not in your interest’ [to run again].” Longtime Democratic strategists react to new reporting that top Biden aides hid signs of decline from the public.@VanJones68: “There are people who knew and said nothing, and that is a crime against this Republic.”@davidaxelrod: “I blame the people around him… real loyalty… pic.twitter.com/Obz2wpk3Jm — State of the Union (@CNNSOTU) May 18, 2025

Baby Donkey Goes Full Throttle After Being Cooped Up In Barn For 2 Days

Mini donkeys are always a joy to watch, but it is hilarious when a baby donkey gets the zoomies. Stella is the daughter of Pepper. Pepper is four years old and never gets the zoomies. Stella might be trying to make up for that rift because she seems to be in constant zoomie mode. @caldtothefarm Stella is full blast after being cooped up in the barn for 2 days #farmlife #minidonkey #BabyDonkey #stellatheminidonkey #homestead #happy #animals #creatorsearchinsights ♬ som original – Rock Legendas After being trapped in the barn for two days due to inclement weather, baby donkey Stella finally gets out to stretch her legs. Running laps around the barn appears to be her favorite pastime. Stella was born on April 9, 2025. Based on the number of videos posted by her human Mom, Chelsea Caldwell, this baby donkey has not stopped having the zoomies since then. The Caldwells have a small animal farm with a couple of horses and the mini donkeys. Pepper does not run. She meanders smartly from place to place as her energetic offspring runs circles around her. She is not bothered by the little speedster. According to recent estimates, the baby donkey’s zoomies equate to 500 miles daily. @caldtothefarm She never stops Stella would legit run 500 miles if we let her. #creatorsearchinsights #animalsoftiktok #farm #farmlife #fyp #BabyDonkey #MiniDonkey #homestead #animals ♬ sonido original – emiliano gaston adee Watching Stella zoom around the yard is the best cure for the blues. Her joy at being alive and running is infectious and floods the observer with dopamine. If you’re having a rough day, watch Stella zoom, and you will instantly feel better. Feeling down? Just pull up this baby donkey and her zoomies. You can thank us later. If you can’t get enough of Stella’s baby donkey zoomies, follow the Caldwells on TikTok and Instagram. You’ll be able to watch Stella grow and see if she ever slows down enough to make friends with Blue, the spotted horse. Please share if you can’t get enough Stella zoomies. Amazon Memorial Day Sale: Best Deals for Preppers

Amazon is launching the Memorial Day Sale early this year to give more opportunities to save. I found several deals that seem quite worthwhile, though many others were disappointing. It would really help the website out a lot if you use this link to visit the sale: https://amzn.to/3SHCwjX It costs you nothing extra, but The OP gets a small commission on any of your purchases. Now, on to what I’ve found. Remember, some of these deals are time sensitive or are only while supplies last. At the time of publication, all items were available at the sale prices. Raised garden bed Check out this galvanized metal raised garden bed – you can save 43% while the deal is going on. Solar generator The Bluetti 1000W solar generator is high quality and very well reviewed. You can save 45% on this portable genny and it works well for household items, recharging devices, and other small electronic needs. Cooling down I live for cooling towels in the summer. I absolutely despise being hot and these towels are a great way to cool off – you just get them wet, snap them, and apply them for an instant refresh. Here’s a fantastic deal for a 4-pack. I keep them in my trunk, with my gardening tools, and another set with my summer power outage gear. Another great cool-down option is a portable, rechargeable, battery-operated cooling fan. Handheld ham radio Check out this Baofeng handheld ham radio set. It’s a great way to get started with ham radio at an affordable price. Freeze-dried food Here are some steals of deals on freeze-dried, shelf-stable foods: Strawberries Apple slices Diced chicken Vegetable medley 30-Day Food Bucket Water filtration These water filtration devices are currently on sale. Lifestraw in a nice portable case 4-pack of straw-type water filters from a lesser-known brand Lifestraw-to-go stainless steel filtered water bottle (this costs a bit more, but I’ve had mine since 2019 and take it every time I travel to filter my tap water. It’s especially useful to take empty through the TSA and then fill with an airport water fountain instead of paying $7 for bottled water at the shops.) Headlamps My favorite power outage light source is the humble headlamp. They’re great for hands-free work, walking outdoors in the dark, or reading. Rechargeable headlamp set Battery-operated headlamp set What do you think? Have you found any good deals? Are the ones listed here still available? Help me keep this post up to date by adding to it in the comments section.   The post Amazon Memorial Day Sale: Best Deals for Preppers appeared first on The Organic Prepper.

Virginia Gov Candidate’s Claims of Being Moderate Don’t Match the Record

Virginia gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger is busy trying to portray herself as a moderate, but her policy record proves she’s far from that.  With a 5% lifetime score on the Heritage Action for America scorecard, Spanberger spent six years in Congress voting for policies like restricting economic freedom, weakening U.S. border security, and blocking voter ID bills. She also voted against religious freedom by rejecting a reasonable religious exemption in a pregnancy accommodations bill. Spanberger voted in lock step with President Joe Biden’s spending blowout, recklessly pouring money to political allies for “green energy” boondoggles and feeding the inflation that has left so many families struggling today.  Her congressional record score was so anti-freedom, it was half the 10% score of the average House Democrat.  Spanberger also voted to ensure that illegal immigrants are counted in the U.S. census, which would favor Democrats if legislative boundaries were ever redrawn. She is also raking in donations from leftist bigwigs like tech mogul Reid Hoffman, and she’s a darling of teachers unions—the biggest foes of school choice programs that offer a lifeline to children trapped in failing schools (who are disproportionately non-white, despite Spanberger’s party claiming to care for racial minorities).  Virginia parents can’t forget that during the COVID-19 era, she pushed to keep schools shuttered until all staffers got vaccinated, despite the fact that vaccinated people can still spread COVID-19. Virginia schools stayed remote, and then children were forced to wear masks long after the rest of the country had moved on, in part thanks to intransigent Democrat leaders like Spanberger, who prioritized special interest groups and political posturing over children’s clear interests. Poor and disadvantaged children are still struggling the most to recover from COVID-19-connected learning loss due to prolonged school closures. While still in Congress, Spanberger also voted against the Laken Riley Act, which enabled the Trump administration to take an MS-13 gang leader off the streets of Virginia. She capped off Women’s History Month by happily celebrating “Trans Visibility Day” and also voted against the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023, landing her a failed score on  Independent Women’s Voice’s Riley Gaines “Stand with Women Scorecard.”  Spanberger’s vote against keeping men out of women’s sports rejects biology, common sense, the Constitution, and overwhelming public opinion. Her position is problematic and undermines the Constitution, as case law under the 14th Amendment’s equal protection clause recognizes inherent differences between men and women. Legal precedents recognize that to ensure equal protection under the law, men and women sometimes must be treated distinctly.  In my city of Arlington, Virginia, Washington and Liberty High School finally removed an individual with a sex crime history who claimed to be female and was repeatedly exposing himself to minors in the girls’ locker room while accessing the high school’s community pool that was open to the general public.  In Loudoun County, also in my home state of Virginia, a boy wearing a skirt exploited his school’s pro-transgender policies and sexually assaulted a girl in the bathroom. Tragically, due to lax school policies, he assaulted a second one. Why does Spanberger support these terrible policies? Why does she refuse to support women and instead favor misogyny in women’s prisons, shelters, bathrooms, and sports?  The good news is President Donald Trump this year preserved the Constitution through his executive orders recognizing only two sexes and keeping males out of female sports.  Our current governor, Glenn Youngkin, has brought unprecedented prosperity and stability to our commonwealth. Spanberger would bring just the opposite. We publish a variety of perspectives. Nothing written here is to be construed as representing the views of The Daily Signal. Carrie Sheffield is a senior policy analyst at Independent Women’s Voice and a resident of Arlington, Virginia.  The post Virginia Gov Candidate’s Claims of Being Moderate Don’t Match the Record appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Fiscal hawks send warning as 'big, beautiful bill' clears high-stakes vote: 'We have to do more to deliver'

The "big, beautiful bill" passed a key vote in the House Budget Committee Sunday night after five spending skeptics initially tanked the bill on Friday. Rather than derail reconciliation a second time, four Republicans voted "present" to advance the bill in a 17-16 vote on Sunday night. On Friday, Republican Reps. Chip Roy of Texas, Ralph Norman of South Carolina, Andrew Clyde of Georgia, Josh Brecheen of Oklahoma, and Lloyd Smucker of Pennsylvania all voted against the bill, resulting in a 16-21 vote. This time around, Roy, Norman, Clyde, and Brecheen voted "present" to advance the bill, while Smucker voted in favor of it. Notably, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) also met with Norman, Clyde, and Brecheen Sunday morning before the vote.'This bill is a strong step forward. ... But we have to do more to deliver for the American people.'RELATED: The Republicans who could derail reconciliation Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas). Photo by Tom Brenner for the Washington Post via Getty Images"Tonight, after a great deal of work and engagement over the weekend, the Budget Committee advanced a reconciliation bill that lays the foundation for much-needed tax relief, border security, and important spending reductions and reforms," Roy said in a statement. "Importantly, the bill now will move Medicaid work requirements forward and reduces the availability of future subsidies under the green new scam."Reforms to the Medicaid work requirements were initially set to take effect in 2029, which was not nearly aggressive enough for fiscal hawks like Roy. Johnson reportedly offered the holdouts a 2026 implementation date, which may have swayed many of the holdouts to allow the bill to advance. "But the bill does not yet meet the moment — leaving almost half of the green new scam subsidies continuing," Roy added. "More, it fails to end the Medicaid money laundering scam and perverse funding structure that provides seven times more federal dollars for each dollar of state spending for the able-bodied relative to the vulnerable.""This all ultimately increases the likelihood of continuing deficits and non-Obamacare-expansion states like Texas expanding in the future," Roy added. "We can and must do better before we pass the final product."RELATED: Vance tells Glenn Beck Congress needs to 'get serious' about codifying DOGE cuts Alex Wroblewski/Bloomberg via Getty ImagesThe bill can be amended only in the Rules Committee, which will hold its hearing on Wednesday at 1:00 a.m. House Republican leadership members have also said they will refrain from sending lawmakers home for Memorial Day, which was their original target. "As such, I joined with three of my colleagues to vote 'present' out of respect for the Republican Conference and the president to move the bill forward," Roy said. "It gives us the opportunity to work together this week to get the job done in light of the fact our bond rating was dropped yet again due to historic fiscal mismanagement by both parties." "This bill is a strong step forward — and I am proud of Chairman Arrington, the speaker, and my colleagues for the work we did to make progress with the White House," Roy added. "But we have to do more to deliver for the American people."Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!
