President Trump has laid out plans for the Department of Government Efficiency to comprehensively audit the Pentagon. He was asked about the Pentagon’s budget by a reporter during a joint press conference with the Japanese Prime Minister. Most executives put under the spotlight with a foreign dignitary in the room would have deflected, or given some non-comital softball response. Not only did he not deflect, but President Trump gave a solid commitment for a “comprehensive” audit. The Pentagon has the largest amount of federal discretionary spending — and an infamous history of overpayments, such as spending $10,000 on toilet seat covers for Air Force cargo planes, an outlay which was ended in 2018 after it became public. “Elon is doing a great job. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth didn’t waste any time before getting in line with the President’s stated plan, committing to a high and lofty goal. Speaking to a town hall discussion forum with Pentagon staffers, Hegseth outlined his plan to pass a ‘clean audit’ in no more than 4 years, according to a report in The Hill: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Friday committed to getting the Pentagon to pass a clean audit within four years after the Defense Department failed several in a row. During a town hall with defense staffers, Hegseth said that he will ensure the Pentagon “at a bare minimum” passes a clean audit by the end of the current administration. “The American taxpayers deserve that,” he continued. “They deserve to know where their $850 billion dollars go, how it’s spent, and make sure it’s spent wisely.” The Pentagon failed its seventh audit in November, though officials claimed at the time they made strides toward the goal of a clean audit in 2028. Around half of the agencies passed and half failed in the audit. The Pentagon has not passed a clean audit since it became legally obligated to in 2018, even as the budget has soared and is approaching a trillion dollars. That’s no small feat, simply considering the sheer size of all defense spending. But on top of that, you have to factor in the human element which will certainly be at odds with the fact-finding mission of DOGE, and would prefer instead to keep certain spending practices concealed. This could prove the greatest test yet for how DOGE handles itself when directly opposed by the Deep State. The plan would leave fewer than 300 staffers on the job out of what are currently 8,000 direct hires and contractors. They, along with an unknown number of 5,000 locally hired international staffers abroad, would run the few life-saving programs that the administration says it intends to keep going for the time being. It was not immediately clear whether the reduction to 300 would be permanent or temporary, potentially allowing more workers to return after what the Trump administration says is a review of which aid and development programs it wants to resume. During the last few months of the air war over Serbia in defense of Kosovo, I happened to be doing some work with refugees in Albania. Albania is known well as the poorest nation in Europe, and it showed. Both water and electricity were hard to come by, and often the infrastructure on both accounts simply wasn’t existent to support what many western nations would like to do in the newly “freed” nation. But that didn’t stop the United Nations from doing things like building a $6 million dollar multi-floor school building in the poorest area of the country, occupied by 60,000 ethnic Albanian refugees (mostly from much earlier wars). The only problem was there was neither water nor electricity to light or plumb the school — though it was built just like any western building, and plopped right down in the middle of an area called Bathore. Why?  I would discover the answer at a few meetings attended by NGO’s working in country — and of course a couple of guys in the employ of USAID. That school wasn’t about building a school… it was about laundering funds.  It was about CIA cover stories and legitimizing their presence in a nation that had just thrown off the yoke of communism (the last eastern bloc country to do so in 1997) in order to control its’ fate — as the CIA so loves to do. So when RFK Jr. says USAID was a CIA channel into controlling what happened on the ground in Ukraine — I believe him. I have seen as much with my own eyes.  I sat across the table with USAID “aid workers”… and watched them operate in a way that benefited some shadowy goal of their ‘parent’ organization, at the expense of the local population they claimed to help. At the moment, it seems as if the ability for the CIA to operate unilaterally — or even AGAINST — the direction of the U.S. President is being cut off at the knees, at least in whatever capacity USAID served in that capacity. President Trump just signed an executive order to establish the White House Faith Office. The office will be dedicated to empowering religious organizations and protect religious liberties. It will also work together with Attorney General Pam Bondi to combat anti-Christian bias. The new office will “empower faith-based entities, community organizations, and houses of worship to better serve families and communities,” according to a fact sheet obtained by Fox News. The office will be housed under the Domestic Policy Council and will consult experts in the faith community on policy changes to “better align with American values.” The office plans to coordinate with other agencies on training for religious liberty and on elevating grant opportunities for non-profit faith-based entities, community organizations and houses of worship. It will also collaborate with the Department of Justice on identifying constitutional religious liberty protections. While living in Maryland, she converted to Christianity at the Damascus Church of God. She has said she received a vision from God at that time. White-Cain is a proponent of the prosperity theology, which is centered around financial and physical well-being being done through the will of God. The Charismatic Christians believe that by giving to charity, their own material wealth will rise as well. She has been criticized for some of her beliefs, however. In 2020 she prayed for the miscarriage of “all Satanic pregnancies” and she also embraced an anti-Black Lives Matter stance. Christian rapper Shai Linne called her out in the song “Fal$e Teacher$” White-Cain’s first marriage was to a local musician while she was a teenager. The two had a child named Bradley Knight but divorced four years into their marriage. She married Randy White and they founded the Tampa Christian Center in 1991 in Tampa, Florida. A Senate report found that the couple had used tax-exempt ministry money to pay for a private jet, salaries to family members and nearly $900,000 for a waterfront mansion. White-Cain became the senior pastor in 2009 and replaced her then-former husband when he stepped down. Two years later, in 2011, White-Cain became the senior pastor of Without Walls Central Church as well. President Trump just took action to protect our Second Amendment rights and reverse Joe Biden’s unconstitutional gun control actions. In an Executive Order he signed on Friday, President Trump ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi to conduct a swift review of all of Joe Biden’s gun control Executive Orders and assess any infringements on the American people’s right to bear arms. The DOJ will then be forced to present a plan on how to reverse any policy or regulation that conflicts with the Second Amendment. More details from Bloomberg Law: President Donald Trump asked the Department of Justice to review firearms rules and regulations drafted by former President Joe Biden’s administration, setting up a likely reversal of many of those policies. Trump, in an executive action issued Friday, directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to examine all “orders, regulations, guidance, plans, international agreements, and other actions of executive departments and agencies” to determine any “ongoing infringements” of the Second Amendment, and present a plan to him within 30 days on how to protect gun rights. That order includes actions taken by agencies during Biden’s tenure that Trump says claim “to promote safety,” but may have infringed on Americans’ gun-ownership rights. It also touches on how agencies classified firearms and ammunition, any positions taken by the US in ongoing or potential court cases on the issue, efforts to step up regulatory enforcement of gun laws and the processing of applications to make, manufacture, transfer or export firearms. Trump’s order follows a campaign in which he pledged to advance the priorities of gun-rights groups and undo “every single Biden attack on gun owners and manufacturers.” Biden signed the first major federal gun safety measure in three decades — the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act — and according to his own White House, pursued more executive actions tied to reducing gun violence than any other administration. Newsmax reported: The Trump administration announced Friday night that Colleen Shogan, archivist of the United States, has been dismissed. “At the direction of @realDonaldTrump the Archivist of the United States has been dismissed tonight. We thank Colleen Shogan for her service,” Sergio Gor, director of the Presidential Personnel Office, said in a post to X. The move was expected. Trump told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt earlier this month, “We will have a new archivist.” Shogan herself expected to be replaced, just not this soon, and was shocked when she was told, CNN reported. Shogan was nominated by former President Joe Biden in 2022 and had served since 2023. As archivist, she oversaw the National Archives and Records Administration, which was at the center of the federal indictment against Trump for possessing classified documents. CNN added: The role of the National Archives took on new prominence in recent years, coming under scrutiny from Republicans in the wake of the search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort as part of an investigation into the handling of presidential documents, including classified documents. At the time, the Archives asked the Department of Justice to investigate Trump’s handling of White House records. Trump has been critical of the National Archives in the past, telling radio host Hugh Hewitt in an interview last month the previous archivist in place during the Mar-a-Lago raid, David Ferriero, “was a disaster,” before hinting he planned to replace Shogan. “I think I can tell you that we will get somebody,” he told Hewitt. “Let me just put it – yeah, we will have a new archivist.”
