At UCLA, Provost Darnell Hunt donned a mask and sat on the ground with protesters, who told him that police are on the side of “Zionists,” and that police are going to commit “brutality” against them. A GoFundMe was set up to fund a “rager” for the UNC fraternity brothers who helped defend the American flag on the University of North Carolina’s Chapel Hill campus. Pi Kappa Phi member Guillermo Estrada explained, “My fraternity brother and others ran over to hold it up, in order for it not to touch the ground. When it comes to the college protesters roiling America’s campuses and roiling America more generally, it’s time for Americans, and particularly their political class, to pick a side. There are only two sides to this particular argument. One side despises America and the West, and the other side really likes America and the West. That binary decision is not particularly tough. It is happening on college campuses all over America. You get to pick which side you think the American president ought to stand on and which side you think the American people ought to stand on. The first side includes a UCLA protest spokesperson saying, “I think, given the fact that the University of California is founded on colonialism, it’s inherently a violent institution. There needs to be an addressment (sic) of U.S. imperialism and its ties to the UC system, and how it perpetuates war and violence abroad. Not only abroad, but also here locally.” The case they are making is that the United States is bad. When they say the University of California is founded on colonialism, what they really mean is that the United States is founded on colonialism, imperialism, exploitation, and rape of the native peoples — and all the rest of this garbage. That’s what they mean. They mean the United States is bad when they say that what’s happening in Gaza is connected to this. What they really mean is there is a coalition of people who are pseudo-oppressed, who are losers in life, who have now decided that the American system, the Western system, and meritocracy, are bad. And what it really means is these people — who are the most privileged people in human history, sitting on a beautiful campus at the University of California at the most beautiful time of the year, outdoors, enjoying their lives on the public dime because tuition is subsidized at UCLA by the state — believe they are the victims of American society or standing in solidarity with the victims of American society.  The complaint is not about Israel. You don’t even hear the word Israel once in that statement. The complaint is about the United States. That’s one side. They hate America. They burn the flag. They take it down. They put up the Palestinian flag because the Palestinian flag has become the rallying point and tip of the spear in favor of this perverse view of the universe. This has happened because revolutionary movements need to show skin in the game. The way they show skin in the game is by picking the worst victims, people who are least sympathetic, and declare they have sympathy for those victims. That’s why the Black Lives Matter movement was founded originally around the death of Michael Brown, who tried to shoot a police officer before he was killed by a police officer. If you could declare your fealty to a false narrative about Michael Brown, suggesting that he died at the hands of American white supremacy, then you could sell those people anything. The same thing is true with regard to the Palestinian cause. The Palestinians are a perfect example of a group of people who have elected terrorists, who are sympathetic to terrorists, who support terrorism, who hate Jews, who hate America, and who have made their own bed. They’ve been offered everything and they’ve taken nothing. They’ve decided they’re not going to take any deal over and over. Every dollar that has gone into Gaza has been used to build up a terror epicenter. And these people declare solidarity with Palestinians because if you can declare solidarity with people who are obviously not victims and declare they are the victims of Western imperialism, you can declare virtually anything. That is why the keffiyeh and the Palestinian flag are substitutes for the American flag. That’s side A. You can pick side A, but those people don’t love America. Then, there’s side B. The second side includes the frat boys at the University of Mississippi who showed up to sing the Star-Spangled Banner in front of people who hate the United States. A trove of public documents revealed that the federal government has kept close tabs on pro- and anti-Israel protests across the country and cited concerns that Yale University was “pro-Hamas.” The documents, obtained and reported on by Bloomberg, reveal that agents with the Federal Protective Service (FPS), a law enforcement agency under the purview of the Department of Homeland Security, closely surveilled the wave of protests that came in the wake of the war between Israel and Hamas, which began after the terrorist organization’s attack on October 7. One October 13 email concerning a pro-Israel demonstration at Yale University cited concerns that the institution is “pro-Hamas.” The email from the FPS investigator explained that he had received a call from a United States Marshal informing him of a pro-Israel rally that was scheduled for the same day. “I checked in with New Haven PD and received the same information and will be on the scene,” his email reads. “The concern is that Yale University is pro Hamas,” the inspector wrote before also adding “at this time there is no credible threat. As more information comes in I will advise.” It is not clear if the FPS inspector was citing his own concerns, those of local authorities, or those of the protesters. The FPS monitored a number of different protests for and against Israel. A series of communications show that federal agents were worried that demonstrations could attract racially motivated violent extremists and become violent. On one occasion, agents warned a Biden administration official of demonstrations set to take place in October from “the same two groups that led to the ~50 arrests (and 500+ not arrested) at the WH yesterday and shutdown several entrances.” “These organizers keep rotating between USG locations, and the missile incident at the Gaza hospital has started inflaming tensions obviously,” the email read. Students at Columbia University occupied a building on the campus and barricaded themselves inside and had to be removed from the premises by the New York Police Department. Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts made a huge donation to local schools in the Philadelphia area that will definitely go to benefit thousands of kids. The 25-year-old NFL star donated $200,000 that will go to installing 300 new air conditioning units in schools in Philadelphia by the start of next school year, Good Morning America reported. “I think back to my time as a student, not being able to imagine some of the things that you guys have to go through,” Hurts reportedly said during his visit to one of the area’s schools. “I just want to serve you guys and help in any way I can,” he added. Philadelphia School District Superintendent Dr. Tony B. Watlington Sr. said the donation will help 5,000 students in the area and benefit 10 local schools, the outlet noted. A trove of public documents revealed that the federal government has kept close tabs on pro- and anti-Israel protests across the country and cited concerns that Yale University was “pro-Hamas.” The documents, obtained and reported on by Bloomberg, reveal that agents with the Federal Protective Service (FPS), a law enforcement agency under the purview of the Department of Homeland Security, closely surveilled the wave of protests that came in the wake of the war between Israel and Hamas, which began after the terrorist organization’s attack on October 7. One October 13 email concerning a pro-Israel demonstration at Yale University cited concerns that the institution is “pro-Hamas.” The email from the FPS investigator explained that he had received a call from a United States Marshal informing him of a pro-Israel rally that was scheduled for the same day. “I checked in with New Haven PD and received the same information and will be on the scene,” his email reads. “The concern is that Yale University is pro Hamas,” the inspector wrote before also adding “at this time there is no credible threat. As more information comes in I will advise.” It is not clear if the FPS inspector was citing his own concerns, those of local authorities, or those of the protesters. The FPS monitored a number of different protests for and against Israel. A series of communications show that federal agents were worried that demonstrations could attract racially motivated violent extremists and become violent. On one occasion, agents warned a Biden administration official of demonstrations set to take place in October from “the same two groups that led to the ~50 arrests (and 500+ not arrested) at the WH yesterday and shutdown several entrances.” “These organizers keep rotating between USG locations, and the missile incident at the Gaza hospital has started inflaming tensions obviously,” the email read. Students at Columbia University occupied a building on the campus and barricaded themselves inside and had to be removed from the premises by the New York Police Department. Protesters also attempted to hold off police who attempted to enter and break up their encampment on the UCLA campus.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A Jewish university student needed a police escort to enter the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s anti-Israel encampment on Friday. Shabbos Kestenbaum, a student at Harvard Divinity School, spoke at a pro-Israel rally across the street from the encampment hosted by the Israeli American Council before deciding to cross the street and enter the encampment. Kestenbaum walked up to the encampment and was denied entry by a keffiyeh-wearing man blocking the perimeter of the protest. Police eventually agreed to escort him into the encampment, according to video taken by The Daily Wire.  “I want to let all of you know that you’re not going to intimidate Jewish people,” he told the campers. “You can hide behind your masks as long as you want, we will not be scared.” Anti-Israel protester at MIT: "Respectfully, we do not trust your intentions." Police eventually agree to give him an escort. pic.twitter.com/lKeXr829TW — Daily Wire (@realDailyWire) May 3, 2024 “All of you should be ashamed of yourselves,” he added. “This is the state of being Jewish in America, I need police to exercise my First Amendment right.” Kestenbaum is a student at Harvard University, but spoke at the MIT counter-demonstration in support of Jewish students there. “After delivering a speech imploring Jewish students not to be afraid of their antisemitic classmates, I crossed the road to exercise my First Amendment rights and enter the pro-Hamas encampments,” Kestenbaum told The Daily Wire.  “Protestors formed a human chain to keep me out, and initially refused to allow me in even after police asked them to,” he added. “Eventually, I required a personal police escort to walk through the encampment, all the while being followed by pro-Hamas terrorist students.” Kestenbaum, along with other Harvard University students filed a lawsuit against the Ivy League in January, accusing it of selectively enforcing its policies to avoid protecting Jewish students from harassment and enabling anti-Semitism. “Whether it’s Harvard, MIT, Columbia, or anywhere else, antisemitic thugs have taken over college campuses,” Kestenbaum said. “They have no respect for the First Amendment or religious freedom and should be immediately thrown out of any university they currently illegally occupy.” MIT erected fences around the encampment ahead of the pro-Israel rally across the street and had a heavy police presence on Friday afternoon near the encampment. Outside of the encampment, Jewish demonstrators sang songs, and waved American and Israeli flags. Many pro-Israel and pro-America flags were hung on the new fences around the encampment, as well as signs mocking the encampment. One such sign read, “In this camp they believe: Propaganda is truth, resistance is justified, rape is resistance, harassment is free speech, Israelis are not human, martydom is glorious.” Inside the encampment, students had many of their own signs, including labels on tents with locations in Israel including Tzfat, Jaffa, and Haifa. 

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts made a huge donation to local schools in the Philadelphia area that will definitely go to benefit thousands of kids. The 25-year-old NFL star donated $200,000 that will go to installing 300 new air conditioning units in schools in Philadelphia by the start of next school year, Good Morning America reported. “I think back to my time as a student, not being able to imagine some of the things that you guys have to go through,” Hurts reportedly said during his visit to one of the area’s schools. “I just want to serve you guys and help in any way I can,” he added. Philadelphia School District Superintendent Dr. Tony B. Watlington Sr. said the donation will help 5,000 students in the area and benefit 10 local schools, the outlet noted. Hurts joined the team in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft. In 2022, he earned the Second Team All-Pro honors and was named the NFL MVP runner-up, CBS Sports noted.
