iOS 18.4 now available to iPhone users with 13 new features

After a month of beta testing, Apple is finally releasing iOS 18.4 to all users. This update expands Apple Intelligence to more countries, regions, and languages while still delivering other important functions to all iPhone users. One of the latest functions announced during the beta cycle of iOS 18.4 was AirPods Max would finally feature lossless support. Once you update to the new version, USB-C AirPods Max owners can connect their headphones to a USB-C iPhone to enjoy superior audio quality. Even though the most important Apple Intelligence feature has been delayed indefinitely, Apple still has three new features coming to iPhone users in iOS 18.4: New languages: Apple adds Chinese, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and localized English for Singapore and India. Image Playground: The long-awaited Sketch style is now available alongside the Animation and Illustration options. Genmoji: Apple tweaked the Genmoji icon on the keyboard, as it now reads “Genmoji.” There's also an Apple Intelligence feature expanding to iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16e users: Visual Intelligence: Apple added the Visual Intelligence feature to the Action Button so iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16e users could take advantage of it. The company also includes the following features: Apple News+ Food: This update will bring a new Food section to Apple News. Subscribers can access recipes, tips for healthy eating, restaurants, and more. Vision Pro app: With iOS 18.4, Apple Vision Pro will get its own iPhone app. It will help you download apps, visionOS content, tips, and information and even set up Guest Mode. Apple Maps change: You can now set a Preferred Language to get directions instead of the one you use on your iPhone. Ambient music: iOS 18.4 adds new Control Center toggles for Ambient Music, including Chill, Productivity, Sleep, and Wellbeing. CarPlay update: Cars with bigger screens now get three rows of apps displayed. Control Center: The Control Center now displays an Apple Intelligence section with three options: Talk to Siri, Type to Siri, and Visual Intelligence. iPadOS 18.4 is now available- here are 5 features to try right now

After a boring iPadOS 18.3 update, Apple has finally released iPadOS 18.4 with several important features, including some that should have already been available. Here's everything new with this software update, including new Apple Intelligence features. The most important update coming with iPadOS 18.4 is the all-new Mail experience. However, there are four other features worth noting: All-new Mail experience: After adding this new Mail to iOS 18.2, Apple is introducing new ways for users to manage their inboxes. On-device categorization organizes and sorts incoming emails into Primary for personal and time-sensitive emails, Transactions for confirmations and receipts, Updates for news and social notifications, and Promotions for marketing emails and coupons. Mail also features a new digest view that pulls together all of the relevant emails from a business, allowing users to quickly scan for what’s important at the moment. New Apple Intelligence languages: Apple adds Chinese, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and localized English for Singapore and India. Image Playground: The long-awaited Sketch style is now available alongside the Animation and Illustration options. New emoji: Apple finally added the seven emojis teased by the Unicode Consortium last year. Still, they’re not as fun as you’d expect. AirPods Max lossless support: If you own the USB-C AirPods Max, you can enjoy lossless audio by plugging a USB-C cable from your headphones to your USB-C iPad. iPadOS 18.4 also adds the following features and tweaks: Genmoji: Apple tweaked the Genmoji icon on the keyboard, as it now reads “Genmoji.” Apple News+ Food: This update will bring a new Food section to Apple News. Subscribers can access recipes, tips for healthy eating, restaurants, and more. Ambient music: iPadOS 18.4 adds new Control Center toggles for Ambient Music, including Chill, Productivity, Sleep, and Wellbeing. Apple Maps change: You can now set a Preferred Language to get directions instead of the one you use on your iPad. Alongside this new software update, Apple also released iOS 18.4, macOS 15.4, watchOS 11.4, tvOS 18.4, and visionOS 2.4. Apple releases macOS 15.4 with four major features

The fourth major macOS Sequoia update is now available to Mac users. This version brings Apple Intelligence improvements and is a bit more feature-packed than the previous macOS 15.3 update. Here’s everything you need to know about macOS 15.4. There are two main Apple Intelligence features landing on macOS 15.4: All-new Mail experience: Mail is introducing new ways for users to manage their inboxes. New Apple Intelligence languages: Apple is adding Chinese, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and localized English for Singapore and India to Apple Intelligence. In addition to these changes, Apple added seven new emojis to the macOS 15.4. The Unicode Consortium introduced these figures last May in beta. The new emojis include a face with bags under the eyes, a fingerprint, a leafless tree, a root vegetable, a harp, a shovel, and splatter. If these emojis aren't enough, Apple now lets you create your own with Genmoji. With macOS 15.4, Apple tweaked the Genmoji button on the keyboard so it’s more easily discoverable, even though they’re only considered emojis on Apple’s platforms. Finally, the company announced that lossless support is available for AirPods Max with macOS 15.4. You need to use the USB-C cable included with these headphones and plug them into your Mac. Alongside macOS 15.4, Apple released the final versions of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, tvOS 18.4, visionOS 2.4, and watchOS 11.4. BGR will let you know if we discover anything new in these major software updates. Apple releases watchOS 11.4 with three major features and a bug fix

Apple is finally releasing watchOS 11.4 to Apple Watch users after a month of beta testing. This version brings a long-awaited feature and an important bug fix. One of the new features available to watchOS 11.4 is support for robot vacuum cleaners in the Home app. Apple says that "Matter-compatible robot vacuum cleaners can be added to the Home app as well as used in scenes, automation," or in commands such as "Siri, clean the living room." With watchOS 11.4, your Apple Watch will play a sound even when silent, which will be great news to some iPhone owners. iPhone alarms passing through the Sleep/Wake Up schedule to the Apple Watch will not ring on the wearable if it’s on silent. They won’t ring on the iPhone either, even though you can set additional alarms not tied to the Sleep/Wake Up schedule, and they’ll all play sound. watchOS 11.4 users also can rest assured they will have the latest emojis unveiled by Unicode last year. In May, the Consortium revealed seven new emojis that would make its way to iOS and Android devices. With this software update, Apple makes them available. The new emojis include a face with bags under the eyes, a fingerprint, a leafless tree, a root vegetable, a harp, a shovel, and splatter. Finally, Apple says it's fixing an issue where face selection may become unresponsive when switching faces. Currently, it's possible to switch faces by long-pressing the current one and then swiping between them. If you turn on a toggle under settings, you can just quickly swipe between them without long-pressing the current watch face. Alongside watchOS 11.4, Apple also released the final versions of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS 15.4, tvOS 19.4, and visionOS 2.4. visionOS 2.4 out now with Apple Intelligence on Vision Pro and more

After a mild visionOS 2.3 update, Apple released visionOS 2.4, one of its most packed updates to date. This new software, among other new features, supports Apple Intelligence. Apple Intelligence has been available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices with A17 Pro or M chipsets for a few months. Now, it’s making its way to Apple Vision Pro, which is more than capable of running Apple Intelligence capabilities thanks to its M2 chip and 16GB of RAM. These are some of the features available with visionOS 2.4: Writing Tools: Users can rewrite, proofread, and summarize text nearly everywhere they write, including Mail, Notes, Pages, and third-party apps; Image Playground: Users can create playful images in seconds, choosing from Animation, Illustration, or Sketch. This app is built right into apps like Messages and is also available in a dedicated app; Memories in Photos: Users can create stories they want to see just by typing a description. Apple Intelligence will pick out the best photos and videos based on the description, craft a storyline with chapters based on themes identified from the photos, and arrange them into a movie with its own narrative arc; Clean Up tool: This Photos app feature can identify and remove distracting objects in the background of a photo without accidentally altering the subject; Siri: Users type to Siri and switch between text and voice to communicate with Siri in whatever way feels right for the moment. ChatGPT integration: When you feel Apple Intelligence isn’t enough, you can allow ChatGPT to access Writing Tools and other features for a better response. Even though some of the biggest Apple Intelligence capabilities have been delayed, including the long-awaited personalized Siri, it’s nice to have the platform finally available on Apple Vision Pro ahead of its rumored significant visionOS 3 update. In addition to Apple Intelligence, visionOS 2.4 introduces Spatial Gallery, an app that features spatial photos, videos, and panoramas curated by Apple for Vision Pro. There’s also a new Apple Vision Pro app for iPhone that users can take advantage of to queue apps and games to download, discover new content, and more. Guest User has also been revamped so Apple Vision Pro owners can customize everything from their iPhone or iPad. Alongside visionOS 2.4, Apple has also released the final versions of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS 15.4, watchOS 11.4, and tvOS 18.4. Don't Miss: visionOS: Features, 2.0, release date, Apple Vision Pro, more The post visionOS 2.4 out now with Apple Intelligence on Vision Pro and more appeared first on BGR. tvOS 18.4 now available with robot vacuum support

One of the last delayed features for tvOS 18 is finally available to Apple TV users with tvOS 18.4. With that, Apple is likely focusing on the upcoming tvOS 19 update, as new screensavers promised during the WWDC 2024 keynote likely have been delayed to the next update cycle, if not canceled. Once you update the Apple TV and HomePod to the latest software version, you'll be able to control Matter-compatible robot vacuums. They can be added to the Home app and used in scenes, automation, or with Siri commands, such as "Siri, clean the living room." Despite that, tvOS 18.4 also adds support to the latest emojis available with iOS 18.4. There isn't much you can do with them on the Apple TV, but this system supports it. In total, there are seven new figures to help you better express yourself. While tvOS 18.3 didn't bring anything new to Apple TV users, tvOS 18.2 was a packed update. One of the biggest changes available with it was that it now supports the new 21:9 aspect ratio, which is perfect for Apple TVs connected to projectors. The company has also added a few other options, such as 2.37:1, 2.39:1, 2.40:1, DCI 4K, and 32:9. They are available under Apple TV’s Audio and Video settings. Besides that, Apple added the Snoopy screensavers to Apple TV in tvOS 18.2. The company was also planning to add TV and Movies, Music, and Soundscapes categories. However, references to them have been removed from the tvOS code. As mentioned above, it's unclear if the company is saving them for tvOS 19 or if it has given up on delivering these fun yet clever screensavers. Alongside tvOS 18.4, Apple released the public versions of IOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS Sequoia 15.4, watchOS 11.4, and visionOS 2.4. We'll let you know if we find anything new in these software updates.
