Meghan Markle Getting Dragged For ‘Pointless’ Netflix Show: ‘Worse Than You Can Possibly Imagine’

Meghan Markle’s new Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” was just released on Tuesday, and it’s already being heaped with criticism from news outlets and viewers weighing in via social media.  The series was marketed as a lifestyle show meant to highlight some of the Duchess of Sussex’s favorite tips for entertaining. The trailer promised a cast of guest appearances from Markle’s friends like Mindy Kaling and others. But from the get-go, fans were confused as to why the former working royal would choose such a saturated genre.  “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex invites friends and famous guests to a beautiful California estate, where she shares cooking, gardening and hosting tips,” the series description on Netflix says. All eight episodes became available on Tuesday after the release was delayed due to the Los Angeles County wildfires. While some reviews support Markle’s latest creative endeavor, many others are mocking it.  A reviewer from The Guardian called it “pointless” and predicted it would be the Sussexes’ last television show after several Netflix flops. The outlet also said the series was bound to fail “unless the broader public suddenly develops a hankering for long-form television programmes about a woman filling children’s party bags with seeds and manuka honey.” The Duchess of Sussex also got ridiculed for an unconventional recipe for spaghetti, which she claimed she put in her children’s lunch boxes the next day. “That’s not food – that’s punishment!” one person remarked. “With so little water, the dish must be a gluey, sticky, starchy brick,” another person agreed. “Her food looks very basic and a bit boring,” a third echoed. Commenters on X were not impressed either. “I just saw the 8 episodes, and they are worse than you can possibly imagine,” one viewer replied.  “I’m so glad Meghan Markle has a new show on Netflix where I can watch her take pretzels out of a labeled bag and put them into a new bag…then label it. The people’s Martha Stewart!” another commenter joked.  Another chimed in, “This is literally the most basic, uninspired content I’ve ever seen. My local grocery store makes better fruit rainbows. It’s not creative, it’s not original, it’s boring and even worse is her insufferable banter.” “All of Meghan Markle’s ‘recipes’ can be found on Pinterest,” another person observed, highlighting a photo of a rainbow fruit tray that looked identical to one a blogger had posted about previously.  Viewers were also frustrated over how fake it all felt, especially since the show wasn’t filmed in her actual home.  The Google Reviews so far are very low, with a current average rating of 2.4 out of 5.  “Imagine if Martha Stewart and Gwyneth Paltrow had a love child who was raised by a committee of Instagram influencers—that’s essentially what we have here. Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle and cooking show on Netflix is a glossy, filtered, and utterly exhausting journey into the world of perfectly curated nothingness,” one reviewer wrote, adding that the “small, relatable moments” the show highlights “often feel as authentic as a Kardashian family dinner.”

Dolly Parton Shares Heartbreaking News About Husband Of Nearly 60 Years

County music legend Dolly Parton shared the heartbreaking news on Monday that her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, had died. He was 82. In a message posted on the 79-year-old singer’s Instagram account, Parton said that Dean passed away in Nashville and will be laid to rest in a private ceremony. “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years,” the country singer shared in a statement.  “Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.” At the time of this publication, the cause of death has not been announced. The Tennessee businessman and Parton met the day she moved to Nashville; she was 18, and he was 21. It was outside the Wishy Washy Laundromat, the Associated Press reported. “I was surprised and delighted that while he talked to me, he looked at my face (a rare thing for me),” Parton described of their meeting. “He seemed to be genuinely interested in finding out who I was and what I was about.” Two years later, the two tied the knot at a small wedding in Ringgold, Georgia, on Memorial Day, May 30, 1966. Some sad news… Carl Dean, Dolly Parton’s husband of 58 years, has died. He was 82. “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.” pic.twitter.com/8D4kpXswbK — Yashar Ali ? (@yashar) March 4, 2025 While Parton’s career took off, Dean remained mostly out of the spotlight, supporting her behind the scenes, even being the inspiration to one of her biggest hits ever, “Jolene,” per NPR. “She got this terrible crush on my husband,” Parton said of a bank teller who seemed interested in Dean. “And he just loved going to the bank because she paid him so much attention.” “It was kinda like a running joke between us — when I was saying, ‘Hell, you’re spending a lot of time at the bank. I don’t believe we’ve got that kind of money,’” she added. “So it’s really an innocent song all around, but sounds like a dreadful one.” During a recent interview with Parton about the couple’s marriage, she opened up about their relationship and said it was just “meant to be.” “I like it when people say, ‘How did it last so long?’ I say, ‘I stay going,’” Parton explained during an interview with ET Canada. “You know, there’s a lot to be said about that. So, we’re not in each other’s face all the time. He’s not in the business, so we have different interests, but yet we have the things we love to do together,” she added. “So it was meant to be, I think. He was the one I was supposed to have and vice versa.” After Parton was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, she said Dean inspired her to make a rock album, something she accomplished in 2023, the AP noted. “I did it because I’m in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” Parton said. It was Dean, she said, who “really made me make that final decision to think, ‘You know what? I’ve got this great opportunity to do this, and I’m just gonna do it.’” Related: Dolly Parton Achieves Career Milestone With New Album At 77

‘The View’ Gangs Up On Stephen A. Smith Over 2024 Election Results

The hosts of ABC News’ “The View” ganged up on guest Stephen A. Smith on Tuesday, pushing back on his claims that President Donald Trump’s 2024 election victory amounted to a mandate to govern in the way he had promised on the campaign trail. The show’s hosts — including fellow guest and former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre — complained that Trump’s slim margin of victory with regard to the popular vote meant that he did not really have the mandate Smith said he did. WATCH: Karine Jean-Pierre whines about Smith acknowledging Trump's mandate."He does not have a mandate." pic.twitter.com/rvinvWDYmR — Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) March 4, 2025 “He’s been going around with his cronies touting his so-called landslide and blowout win, but he won the popular vote by 1.5%. One of the smallest ever and he won the general election by less than 50%. So what kind of mandate is this?” Joy Behar began. Smith, a sports commentator, pushed back, saying that he believed it was a mandate — and he laid out in detail the reasons he felt that way. “It is a mandate and I’m going to explain why — and I don’t mind the question, but let me be very clear: I’m not supporter of Trump, I’m a supporter of truth,” Smith said. “And here’s the facts. The man won every swing state. He increased in terms of his voter turnout in his favor from the standpoint of blacks, Latinos, and young voters. He increased his numbers in that regard from 2020. 89% of the counties shifted to the right! That’s a mandate!” “We can sit up there and play around all we want to, in 2020 Trump didn’t win the popular vote,” Smith continued. “He didn’t win the Electoral College vote. As a matter of fact, the Republicans haven’t won the popular vote if I remember correctly since 2004 — but they did this year. So 20 years after they last won the popular vote, they won the popular vote, they won the Electoral College vote, the man won every swing state … I don’t understand how people can look at that and say there’s no mandate. There’s a mandate.” “Well, it’s a different definition of a mandate, I guess,” Behar protested. Smith kept going though, arguing that the massive shift to the right was a clear directive for the Democratic Party to “find a new strategy” going forward. As Smith left the set, Jean-Pierre was coming in — and she immediately informed him that she disagreed with his assessment. “He won with the smallest margin of the popular vote since the 19th century,” Jean-Pierre said, brushing aside every argument Smith had made to assert that Trump did not, in fact, have any kind of mandate.

Lankford Urges Senate To Permanently Overturn ‘Absurd’ Biden Small Business Reporting Rule

Oklahoma Senator James Lankford urged his colleagues to permanently overturn an “absurd” Biden-era regulation that requires small business owners to report personal information to the federal government.  Lankford told The Daily Wire that the Senate should follow the Trump administration’s lead and prohibit enforcement of the”beneficial ownership information reporting requirements” for American companies. The rule, as promulgated by the Biden administration, required people who had direct or indirect control of a company to report their name, birthdate, address, and a unique identifying number to the Treasury Department. “There is no way anyone is going to ever tell me and convince me that the Constitution allows the federal government to go to every small business and say, ‘tell me who your influences are and send me that in a form’. That is not the job of the federal government to go do that,” Lankford told The Daily Wire.  The Trump administration announced on Sunday that it would stop enforcing the rule for domestic businesses and that it would be promulgating a new rule only applicable to foreign companies.  Lankford said that the Biden administration had taken a statute that was “snuck” into a National Defense Authorization Act to supposedly combat money laundering and created an “over-burdensome” and “quasi-Orwellian” unconstitutional rule that did more to harm honest small business owners than illicit companies.  He said the rule made a massive “assumption that companies that are laundering drug money will suddenly at that moment become honest and report that they are actually being controlled by a drug kingpin. The practical effect of the rule was to force small business owners to prove that they were laundering drug money,” Lankford said.  Consequences for not complying with the form, which Lankford said many small businesses were unaware of, could include a $10,000 fine and up to two years in prison.  “Small businesses don’t get up every day and read the federal register to be able to find out what it is the federal government is now imposing on them as a new regulation for a new piece of paper to be able to get in or face jail,” he said. “They’re getting up and turning lights on, cleaning toilets, and doing all the things they need to do to get their business going that day.” Senate Republicans have previously introduced multiple bills to challenge the rule and Lankford said that the Senate Banking Committee is expected to hear one of the proposals in light of the decision from the Trump administration. Recently, Republicans on the committee introduced a measure that would have bumped the deadline for small businesses to report the required information.  Last month, the House of Representatives voted unanimously to extend the deadline for businesses to respond to the Treasury Department, which had previously been scheduled for March 21.  “This is one of those things that every small business just wants this gone so that they don’t have to think about it all the time and be worried about if they are going to go to jail tomorrow because of a form not being filled out,” Lankford told The Daily Wire.

Whoopi Admits She Uses ‘The View’ To Spread Democrat Talking Points

“The View” host Whoopi Goldberg admitted during Tuesday’s broadcast of the midday talk show that she used her platform on ABC News to help spread Democratic talking points. Goldberg and her cohosts spent a good part of the show sparring with Stephen A. Smith, who argued that Democrats so far appear to be learning all the wrong lessons from their losses in the 2024 election cycle. WATCH: Whoopi Goldberg admits Disney and ABC News's The View is platform to promote Democrat talking points:STEPHEN A. SMITH: [Y]ou're talking about what he's doing. But before you brought that up you brought up the message that the Democratic Party was disseminating. I'm challenging… pic.twitter.com/XEZVbXzWTs — Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) March 4, 2025 Smith argued that the 2024 election was not so much about President Donald Trump and the Republicans “winning” as it was about the Democrats losing because they couldn’t get a handle on a message that resonated with the American people. “It’s not about him winning. It was an indictment against the Democratic Party and what the Democratic Party was offering the American citizens,” he said. “We might sit up here and talk about, hey, you should be a party for the working class, which the Democratic Party was once known for — they’re not known for that right now. Why? Because their message was catering towards others and towards other issues.” “The forgot about the people that brought them there, that elevated the Democratic Party to what it was over these last few decades. That’s why they lost. He didn’t win, the Democrats lost,” Smith insisted. “Let’s remind people what those issues were,” Goldberg replied. “Making sure that families had what they need … making sure stuff is there. Making sure that the America we all grew up in, where you could come and be whoever you were supposed to be or want to be, you still have that right.” “All these things are the things the Democrats have always said, but now we have a guy who’s in who says you know, I’m gonna bring down the price of eggs, but first I’m gonna cut all these jobs,” Goldberg continued. “And I’m not gonna see why they need to be cut, I’m just gonna cut them … that’s what he’s doing.” “You’re talking about what he’s doing,” Smith pushed back. “But before you brought that up, you brought up the message that the Democratic Party was disseminating. I’m challenging you on that. That is not what they were doing.” “Oh, yes, it was. I was here. We did it!” Goldberg exclaimed.
