What Trump and Vance Told March for Life Crowd

On Friday thousands of supporters of the pro-life cause gathered to participate in the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. and heard from President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, who were sworn into office earlier this week In a prerecorded video, Trump pledged that in his second term his administration would “again stand proudly for families and for life, we will protect the historic gains we have made and stop the radical Democrat push for a federal right to unlimited abortion on demand up to the moment of birth and even after birth.” WATCH: President Donald J. Trump's FULL message to the March for Life ?"In my second term, we will again stand proudly for families and for life." pic.twitter.com/PfTNpMxXSy— Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) January 24, 2025 The 47th president also promised to support adoption and foster care and to investigate attacks on churches and crisis pregnancy centers. The president also noted his recent pardoning of pro-life activists. “I will also end the weaponization of law enforcement against Americans of faith,” said Trump. “I’m releasing the Christian and pro-life activists who were persecuted by the Biden regime for praying and living out their faith.” The vice president struck a similar note, making it clear that pro-life activists should no longer fear the Justice Department. “No longer will the federal government direct FBI raids on the homes of people like Mark Houck and other Catholic and Christian activists who are fighting for the unborn every single day,” said Vance. The FBI came with guns to the house of Houck, a pro-life activist, and his wife and seven children without notice. “And no longer will our government throw pro-life protesters and activists, elderly grandparents, or anybody else in prison. It stopped on Monday and we’re not going to let it come back to this country,” Vance added. In his address, he also decried the anti-family culture of the United States.  “We failed a generation, not only by permitting a culture of abortion on demand, but also by neglecting to help young parents achieve the ingredients they need to lead a happy and meaningful life,” he said. Vance declared that he saw a role of the government to provide an environment that supported families. “And it is the task of our government is to make it easier for young moms and dads to afford to have kids, to bring them into the world and to welcome them as the blessings that we know they are here at the March for Life.” The 40-year-old, who has three young children with his wife Usha, continued: Now it should be easier, easier to raise a family, easier to find a good job, easier to build a home to raise that family in, easier to save up and purchase a good stroller, a crib for a nursery. We need a culture that celebrates life at all stages, one that recognizes and truly believes that the benchmark of national success is not our GDP number or our stock market, but whether people feel that they can raise thriving and healthy families in our country. The vice president touted the record of Trump during his first term including his appointments of three justices of the Supreme Court who helped overturn Roe v. Wade, as well as dozens of pro-life federal judges.  Vance noted that, just four days into his second term, Trump had already endorsed the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, and he promised that the Justice Department would no longer target pro-life activists. The vice president concluded his speech by praising the pro-life marchers. “You make it possible for us to stand here and say that America is fundamentally a pro-baby, a pro-life, and a pro family country.” The Daily Signal also caught up with some pro-life marchers to ask them what they hoped to hear from the new administration. Father Ben Rynearson, a a Catholic priest, told The Daily Signal that he hoped the country could “get back to a place in our culture and our societies where all life is seen as something sacred…to protect the unborn and those who have no voice, to be able to speak for those who have no voice.”  Eva Cooley and Hunter Dalke, an engaged couple active in pro-life politics, also discussed what they wanted to see from the Trump administration. Cooley told The Daily Signal that one of her biggest priorities she hoped to see from the new administration was planning to defund Planned Parenthood.  “Planned Parenthood has caused so much damage to so many women, and they are funded with taxpayer dollars to allow abortions to happen, and that is just a horrible use of funds, a horrible use of resources. And so I’m really hoping that the Trump administration can stop pouring so much of our money into this abortion giant,” Cooley said. Dalke added that there needed to be “accurate messaging about what abortion actually is.”  “Across America, women are being told lies about what abortion has been, telling them that it’s not the killing of a human life. And I think we can do better and treat women better.” Cooley and Dalke also expressed appreciation for Trump’s pardoning of pro-life activists Thursday. “We were just so grateful that these peaceful protesters, some of whom were just praying outside of abortion clinics, can finally go home to their families,” said Cooley. “It was just absolutely ridiculous and an utter misuse of power from the Biden-Harris administration to put these protesters in jail. And we’re looking forward to seeing what else Trump can do,” she added. The post What Trump and Vance Told March for Life Crowd appeared first on The Daily Signal.

A New Age Begins

Donald Trump Is now officially the 47th president of the United States. Trump’s first inauguration in 2017 was marred by violence from the left; it was also surreal. The media were utterly shocked by Trump’s victory–Trump himself seemed shocked, too–and that disbelief translated into four years of extraordinary efforts to deny that Trump had indeed won, ranging from attacks on social media companies to blaming Russian collusion. Not so this time. I was in Washington, D.C., for the inauguration. The streets were calm–and, despite the freezing temperatures, filled with Trump supporters. There was no violence. In fact, a sense of quiescence pervaded the town, a recognition that not only had Trump won, but that he had won convincingly. This makes perfect sense. As the first president to serve non-consecutive terms since Grover Cleveland, Trump doesn’t represent something new, something that the American public must digest. He represents something tried and true. Usually, American politics tends to follow a near-Hegelian map: thesis, antithesis, synthesis. Jimmy Carter (far left) is followed by Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush (conservative), and the American public finally settle on Bill Clinton (the fabled “third way”). The Harding/Coolidge era (conservative) is followed by the FDR era (far left), and the American public finally settle on Dwight D. Eisenhower (centrist). Not this time. This time, the American people presented a thesis: Trump. Then they were presented a man who acted as Trump’s antithesis on virtually every policy, from immigration to taxes to foreign policy to social radicalism: Joe Biden. And then they selected Trump again. This means that Trump doesn’t need to synthesize lessons from Biden. Biden’s agenda has been roundly rejected–for the man they originally rejected in favor of Biden. The American public has bought what Trump is selling. And that means that Trump does indeed have a unique mandate. That mandate isn’t endless. The American public want, as Trump suggested in his inaugural address, “common sense.” They want the border closed and the economy booming; they want innovation, and they want social stability. They don’t want distractions and infighting and dramatics and hullabaloo. Trump seems poised to give it to them. It was difficult not to watch Trump’s second inaugural address and get the sense that he understands the assignment. Spanning just under 3,000 words, Trump kept to his message. He spoke without anger or bluster. He was flanked by leaders in innovation. When he promised a new golden age, that didn’t feel particularly audacious. It felt right. After a decade of Donald Trump, Americans know what he means. And Trump knows what Americans meant when they elected him. They meant that they want success. They want winning. They want the American dream–the chance to rise and fall on their own merits. They want to feel proud of their country again. We should all pray that Trump is successful in that mission. Europol Chief Catherine De Bolle Pushes for Encryption Backdoors at Davos

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. Another day, another law enforcement agency counter-intuitively makes the epitome of security – namely, strong encryption – one of its targets. It’s not exactly a first for EU’s Europol, but Executive Director Catherine De Bolle obviously thinks the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting is where the plans to pressure tech companies to introduce encryption backdoors will resonate well. It is in Davos that De Bolle plans to meet with participating representatives of tech companies, to try to once again drive home the notion that failure to undermine encryption is tantamount to “risking threatening European democracy.” She shared all this with big legacy media ahead of the meetings, no doubt as a way to prepare ground for “renewed pressure,” as FT described the initiative. Meanwhile, encryption backdoors of one type or another are euphemistically referred to as “unlocking encrypted messages” for the police to access. De Bolle does herself no favors when she goes for the old and badly thought-through analogy of, “We need the key to the house when we know there is a criminal inside.” The problem with this is that once the keys to your house are out of your hands, anyone can duplicate and use them. It seems that entities like Europol (EU) don’t care much if their hunger to expand mass surveillance to encrypted personal messages also takes down not only people’s privacy but the security of their internet presence overall, including online transactions. “Anonymity is not a fundamental right,” declares De Bolle – but breaking the internet allegedly to make investigators’ lives easier apparently is a “fundamental right.” Here’s another pearl from the Europol chief: unless the police can access data on end-to-end encrypted platforms, “You will not be able to enforce democracy.” So far, tech companies big and small have resisted attempts to have “democracy enforced” on them in this manner, understanding the fundamental significance of encryption to their users, but also the online economy, and the online ecosystem. And as the legacy media repeatedly paint resistance to anti-encryption measures are only a privacy issue, it is worth repeating as well, that it is of key importance for every internet user’s overall security. ABC ‘News’: Ana Navarro Claims Trump Rolled Back Interracial Marriages

In a desperate effort to scare people into voting for Vice President Kamala Harris before the election, Whoopi Goldberg used her platform on ABC’s The View to falsely claims President Trump was going to break up interracial marriages and redistribute the white spouse. But during Thursday’s edition of the show, fake Republican co-host Ana Navarro falsely claimed that Trump had already made part of Goldberg’s unhinged prediction a reality. Amid their hyperventilating about Trump doing away with racist DEI programs in the federal government, Navarro warned that “he also revoked an order, the equal opportunity order signed by Lyndon Johnson in 1965.”     According to her, this meant, “He's not taking us back four years. He's taking us back to 1965 before it was legal for there to be interracial marriage.” “That’s true,” fill-in moderator Joy Behar agreed. “That's right. That’s why it’s so broad,” Sunny Hostin also chimed in. Navarro proceed to bloviate about how this would give “a green light” for racists, homophobes, and misogynists to discriminate in hiring: And, look, I would love to think – and I hope that we get there one day – I would love to think that there is no racism by the people who do hirings in the government and in corporations in America, but that is not the case. I would love to think that there is no homophobia but that is not the case. And I think by getting rid of this and doing it in such a bold way on day one, what he is doing is giving a green light to people who are racist, to people who are homophobic, to people who are anti-women and think they should be in the kitchen and telling them there is no consequence to your racism. There were none of The View's infamous legal notes to correct what she said. Ahead of Navarro’s asinine comments Hostin released her own hot air about how Trump had launched a “war on women” and “war on people of color.” “I think this is a really important issue, especially because when we're talking about DEI,” she proclaimed. “And this will specifically harm women, right? And it will specifically harm African Americans and Latinos, so we're not just talking about black jobs.” Calling it “a second nadir,” Hostin claimed that Trump was doing the “same thing” and Democratic President Woodrow Wilson did. “[H]e re-segregated the federal government leading to a plunge in income for not only black workers but also for women,” she said. She went on to claim that Trump was waging “war” on groups of Americans: And so, what we're seeing is an attack not on necessarily DEI or wokeness, we're seeing an attack on the very fabric of our company, which is opportunity for all including women. And women, what Whoopi has said often, women were really the most -- they gained the most advantages from affirmative action. And so, this is a war on women. I think it's a war on people of color. And what we are going to see is a lot of pain, but especially to those communities that need those jobs. Keeping the insanity train rolling, Behar also suggested Trump was carrying out Nazi-style purges. The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: ABC’s The View January 23, 2025 11:17:23 a.m. Eastern (…) SUNNY HOSTIN: I think this is a really important issue, especially because when we're talking about DEI, we're not talking about a DEI office, we're talking about equal opportunity and inclusion across all offices for all people, so that it is more reflective of what America looks like. And this will specifically harm women, right? And it will specifically harm African Americans and Latinos, so we're not just talking about black jobs. JOY BEHAR: How about Asians? HOSTIN: I will affect Asians as well. And so, I think this is really counter to his campaign promises to protect black jobs, because in the federal government, overwhelmingly, black professionals work there. We're talking about over 16 percent, more than the black population. And so I think what we're facing here is sort of a second nadir, because Woodrow Wilson, you know, back in the day did the same thing, he re-segregated the federal government leading to a plunge in income for not only black workers but also for women. And so, what we're seeing is an attack not on necessarily DEI or wokeness, we're seeing an attack on the very fabric of our company, which is opportunity for all including women. And women, what Whoopi has said often, women were really the most -- they gained the most advantages from affirmative action. And so, this is a war on women. I think it's a war on people of color. And what we are going to see is a lot of pain, but especially to those communities that need those jobs. ANA NAVARRO: Also one community that you didn't mention is the LGBTQ+. HOSTIN: Absolutely. NAVARRO: One of the things he did, not only did he revoke a bunch of Biden executive orders including one that calls for the negotiation of lower drug prices for people on Medicaid and Medicare. That's going to be very painful for Americans, but he also revoked an order, the equal opportunity order signed by Lyndon Johnson in 1965, so not only are we now going back -- BEHAR: He can sue Lyndon Johnson maybe. NAVARRO: He's not taking us back four years. He's taking us back to 1965 before it was legal for there to be interracial marriage. HOSTIN: That's right. BEHAR: That’s true. HOSTIN: That’s why it’s so broad. NAVARRO: And, look, I would love to think – and I hope that we get there one day – I would love to think that there is no racism by the people who do hirings in the government and in corporations in America, but that is not the case. I would love to think that there is no homophobia but that is not the case. PBS Worries Trump May Impose 'Government Line' With Tech Supporters

Irony died multiple deaths on Thursday’s edition of Amanpour and Company on PBS. First, host Christiane Amanpour and Columbia Journalism School Dean Jelani Cobb lamented that social media companies are moving away from fact-checking, which, they said, will make it harder to hold the government accountable, despite their own historical difficulties with the truth. Second, they worried that Trump’s relationship with people like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg will lead to the creation of a “government line” on social media that must be toed. Amanpour began, “President Biden's outgoing speech made also reference to an oligarchy, and he was also talking about the heads of the big streaming platforms, the big social media platforms which have, like Elon Musk, got major governmental, you know, economic contracts and things like that who have – who've moved away from fact-checking, Meta moved away from fact-checking. They were all sat in pretty much the front row behind the presidential families at the inauguration.” She further worried, “What does that mean when the oligarchs are not Rubber Barons like in Russia or in the early days of the United States, but they are media titans?”     Cobb replied, “I mean, I think there's reason to be concerned, there should be reason to be concerned when you see the kind of what we consider the information infrastructure of the nation. That being that closely aligned with government itself.” To be fair, Amanpour and Company originally airs on CNN International, but Americans see it on the Public Broadcasting Service. It’s especially ironic considering Amanpour just spent four years cheerleading for the Democratic administration, only really challenging it from the left on Israel. For additional irony, those criticisms were not even factually accurate, sometimes misrepresenting CNN’s own reporting. As it was, Cobb continued to try to wax poetic, “You know, in the United States, you know, we think of the press and the media as the fourth estate, that we're supposed to be a kind of immune system for democracy. We're supposed to be specifically outside of government in order to operate as a check on government, to inform the public and the public can then use that information to form their opinions, and public opinion is ultimately at the core of democracy. That's how it's supposed to work.” Cobb added, “When you see that kind of alignment and that kind of choreography, it raises the question about, you know, whether or not there is a kind of government line or a preferred way of viewing things that then will get amplified, you know, and disseminated on social media platforms. I don't – can't say that's happening, I can't say that's true, but I'm saying that's a question that we should pursue, like, why and what are the implications of this?” Amanpour tried to tie it all together by citing Thomas Jefferson, “So, as you know, and I'm sure it's emblazoned on the wall somewhere in the college there, Thomas Jefferson back in 1787 famously said, when it's – ‘were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.’”  That’s a noble sentiment. It would just be nice if the media would also apply it when there is a Democratic president. Here is a transcript for the January 23 show: PBS Amanpour and Company 1/23/2025 CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR: And, Jelani Cobb, President Biden's outgoing speech made also reference to an oligarchy, and he was also talking about the heads of the big streaming platforms, the big social media platforms which have, like Elon Musk, got major governmental, you know, economic contracts and things like that who have – who've moved away from fact-checking, Meta moved away from fact-checking. That being that closely aligned with government itself. You know, in the United States, you know, we think of the press and the media as the fourth estate, that we're supposed to be a kind of immune system for democracy. How Trump’s executive orders are DISMANTLING wokeness

Donald Trump hasn’t been back in office for even a week, and he’s already making massive changes to Biden’s old "woke" America. One of the biggest ideological changes the administration has already executed is ordering all federal employees in DEI offices to be placed on paid leave and to shut DEI down. This includes all outward-facing media, such as web pages and social media accounts focused on DEI programs. Trump is also ending affirmative action for federal contractors and universities, signing an executive order that rescinds Lyndon Johnson’s Executive Order 11246, which established affirmative action and banned all federal contractors and publicly funded universities from practicing race-based discrimination. In addition, the administration has asked all agency heads to ask employees if they know of any efforts to disguise DEI programs with coded or imprecise language and report their findings back. Any employee caught attempting to skirt this will face “adverse consequences.” “They know what they’re going to try with DEI. They’re going to try to change the language. They’re going to try to hide it with imprecise things. They’re going to do all that,” Stu Burguiere comments on “The Glenn Beck Program.” Try as they might, Glenn Beck believes the Trump administration is ready for anything, telling Stu, “If anyone doesn’t think Donald Trump was prepared, look at just this week.” “I was talking to somebody who was in on the planning yesterday, and they said that President Trump made a list of every campaign promise that he made. He told everybody, ‘Remember what I said, put it on a list.’ He made the list too, and he is really checking it twice,” he continues. “He is determined to keep every campaign promise, so you want to know, left, what he’s going to do? Take him at his word,” he adds. Want more from Glenn Beck?To enjoy more of Glenn’s masterful storytelling, thought-provoking analysis, and uncanny ability to make sense of the chaos, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

Ross Ulbricht breaks silence after 'amazing blessing' of being pardoned by President Trump: 'There's a lot to talk about'

Ross Ulbricht – the founder of the infamous Silk Road dark web marketplace – has broken his silence since leaving prison after being pardoned by President Donald Trump. Ulbricht created the dark web marketplace Silk Road in 2011, where federal authorities said users were able to buy and sell illegal drugs and other unlawful goods and services. 'I am so, so grateful to have my life back, to have my future back, to have this second chance.'The feds busted Ulbricht, and he has been in prison for more than 11 years. He was convicted of distributing narcotics, distributing narcotics by means of the internet, conspiring to distribute narcotics, engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise, conspiring to commit computer hacking, conspiring to traffic in false identity documents, and conspiring to commit money laundering.Ulbricht – a first-time offender – was sentenced to a double life sentence plus 40 years at a maximum-security prison in Arizona. As Blaze News reported this week, Trump pardoned Ulbricht to end his nightmare. "I just called the mother of Ross William Ulbright [sic] to let her know that in honor of her and the Libertarian Movement, which supported me so strongly, it was my pleasure to have just signed a full and unconditional pardon of her son, Ross," Trump declared. Lyn Ulbricht – the mother of Ross – has been working tirelessly for over a decade to get her son released from prison."The scum that worked to convict him were some of the same lunatics who were involved in the modern-day weaponization of government against me," Trump added. "He was given two life sentences, plus 40 years. Ridiculous!"On Thursday, the Free Ross account on the X social media platform shared a video of Ulbricht expressing how grateful he was for President Trump.Ulbricht began, "I was doing life without parole, and I was locked up for more than 11 years, but he let me out, I'm a free man now. So let it be known that Donald Trump is a man of his word.""Thank you so much, President Trump, for giving me this amazing blessing," Ulbricht said. "I am so, so grateful to have my life back, to have my future back, to have this second chance.""This is such an important moment for me and for my whole family. It's an important moment for everyone who has been working for this for years," stated Ulbricht – who operated under the pseudonym "Dread Pirate Roberts," a reference to "The Princess Bride" movie. Ulbricht continued, "This is a victory, and it's your victory, too. And this is an important moment for everybody, everywhere, who loves freedom and who cares about second chances.""So it feels amazing to be free, to say the least. It's overwhelming and for the next however long we need, I'm going to be with my family, so that we can reunite and be whole again and heal," Ulbricht said.He concluded, "But there's a lot to talk about, and I look forward to re-engaging with the free world. And so, once I'm feeling up to it, we'll talk again."Ross wrote on X, "The past 36 hours have been a complete whirlwind and we keep pinching ourselves to make sure we're not dreaming. So much gratitude, love, and hope for what's to come. Thank you for all your messages! We can't reply to everyone but know it means so much to us."The release of Ulbricht was a top issue with supporters of the Libertarian Party. Trump recognized the political worth of the issue and vowed to commute the sentence of Ulbricht if he were elected during his appearance at the Libertarian National Convention in May.Libertarian National Committee Chair Angela McArdle described Ulbricht as "a libertarian political prisoner for more than a decade."“I’m proud to say that saving his life has been one of our top priorities and that has finally paid off,” McArdle stated.Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) stated, "I've always been a believer in fair and appropriate punishment. Donald Trump went to libertarians and he said, ‘I want your vote and I'll free Ross Ulbricht,’ and he kept his promise. All I can say is thank you, Donald Trump."Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) said, "Ross Ulbricht has been freed by President Trump with a full pardon! Thank you for keeping your word to me and others who have been advocating for Ross’ freedom, Mr. President!"Like Blaze News?
