ABC Debate Moderator Claims Trump Has ‘Connection’ to Michigan KKK

In a possible preview of how she planned to conduct herself as one of the moderators of the first presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, during her coverage of the Democratic National Convention on Monday, ABC’s Linsey Davis claimed – without evidence – that Trump had a “connection” to a month-old KKK rally in Howell, Michigan because he was going to hold a rally in the same town. In a conversation with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D), Davis noted that “Trump is expected to go campaign in Howell, Michigan tomorrow.” And as if there was no other reason for Trump’s campaign to visit, she suggested the march was why Trump chose to go there: Many people are aware that a month ago, in Howell, KKK protesters marched in the streets with the white robes on and suggested that they support Donald Trump. I’m curious if you make anything about that connection and him going in particularly to Howell tomorrow. Contrary to Davis’s suggestion, the march was not widely reported on a national level. And while she saw no reason for Trump to go there besides the KKK march, a quick search for Howell on Google maps showed it sits between Ann Arbor, Detroit, and Lansing; making it a central location for people to travel to. Michigan was also a closely contested battleground state.   Upcoming ABC News presidential debate moderator @LinseyDavis connects Trump to KKK. Trump to campaign in Howell Michigan tomorrow and a month ago KKK marched there and “suggested they support Trump.” So, “do you make anything of that connection?” ABC News Live at 8:10 PM ET pic.twitter.com/fiHiJchSp0 — Brent Baker ?? ?? (@BrentHBaker) August 20, 2024   As for Whitmer’s reaction, she falsely suggested that Trump would be there around the same time the march happened (despite it happening a month ago), and she basically wrote-off the town: Well, you know, anyone who’s doing a little bit of research might have said ‘that’s really a bad idea, look at the optics.’ You’re showing up where the KKK was just at the same time you’re in Michigan. I mean, this is a – I think – a troubling strategy that we see from the other side to divide us and to scare us and to stoke fear and anger. And contrast to what we are going to see all week, this is a gathering of joyful, happy warriors. We are rolling up our sleeves, we’re doing the work, we take no one and no vote for granted. Davis followed up with a gooey question about Whitmer’s book and a suggestion that women were a monolith for the Democrats and Harris: In your book, True Gretch – and I want to quote. You say, you put on a leather jacket when you need true armor and quote, “don't mess with American women. We will fight back and we will win.” You talked about bringing your daughters here. Do you think that women are key in Michigan for Kamala Harris winning? This is a taste of what we have to look forward to for the September 10 debate. The transcript is below. MSNBC’s Joy Reid Promises “a Lot of Tears for Joe Biden”

MSNBC’s Joy Reid Promises “a Lot of Tears for Joe Biden”

Several themes emerge from the early coverage of the 2024 Democratic convention. The first is the reinforcement of the manufactured “joyful” mood of the party now that Joe Biden has been successfully deep-sixed. The second, most notably on display tonight, are the “tears” that this deep-sixing trigger. Our colleague Nick Fondacaro caught on to the theme early on, as CNN predicted a need for “Kleenex boxes”, and for “babies yelling for Joe Biden”. The ridiculousness is no different over on MSNBC. Watch as Joy Reid melds both themes in a single take; tears within a joyful space: MSNBC rhetorical arsonist Joy Reid declares that there will be "tears", in the "joyful space" that is the DNC, for Joe Biden who was "the AOC of his time." pic.twitter.com/fLow2ZBRK5 — Jorge Bonilla (@BonillaJL) August 19, 2024 JOY REID: I have to be- what I'm going to be watching for just sitting in this room, in this space- that is such a joyful space tonight- I'm expecting there to be also a lot of tears. This in many ways represents the kind of denouement, the kind of end of one of the longest and most successful political careers of any politician in U.S. history. Joe Biden has been in politics since the 1970s. Since 1972, when he was the youngest United States Senator at 29 years old. He was the AOC, basically, of his time. Once you’re done processing that particular moment of cringe, consider the gross hagiography of it all. The Regime Media have been out in force for the past month, manufacturing consent for this candidacy and for the manner in which it was foisted upon the American people.  Part of that manufactured consent involves gaslighting the American people into believing that Joe Biden is a patriot, equal only in stature to George Washington or Cincinnatus, who relinquished power and walked away from the office, as opposed to someone who had the presidency he chased for 40 years ripped away from him by his own party. Part of that gaslighting entails the incessant imprinting of these convention themes, which the Regime Media will do joyfully albeit not tearfully.  Click “expand” to view the aforementioned segment as aired on MSNBC’s Democratic National Convention coverage on Monday, August 19th, 2024: MSNBC Democratic National Convention 8/19/24 6:06 PM JOY REID: I have to be- what I'm going to be watching for just sitting in this room, in this space- that is such a joyful space tonight- I'm expecting there to be also a lot of tears. He is now the oldest United States President and he has been through so many things. I mean, this was the sort of pivotal senator during so many Supreme Court nominations, including Clarence Thomas’s, he was the leading United States Senator- white United States Senator- who opposed apartheid. You go through the crime bill in the 1990s which was embraced at the time by the Black community, by Black pastors and people who were in communities who needed help, the assault weapons ban- historic, that he was able to get through, the Violence Against Women's Act. This man ran for president three times. When he finally became President, it was at the end of one of the most tumultuous and sort of, you know, divisive presidencies of our lifetime and he anchors not just the first Black president to whom he served as vice president, a big deal for a man of his generation to be willing to be second to a Black president. He then hands, in this incredibly dramatic way, the baton to potentially the first Black woman and Asian-American woman and woman president, period, in the United States. Joe Biden stands at the fulcrum of American politics in a way I think we don’t think about because he’s Uncle Joe. We're so used to him and he’s become such a normal figure in our lives that we kind of forget that he’s actually a big effing deal, right? He’s a pretty big and important figure in American history. And this is his swan song. And so I'm looking for this room to be filled with a lot of love for Joe Biden, a lot of tears about Joe Biden, a lot of encomiums to Joe Biden, and I think he’s gonna feel that love in a very big way.

NewsBusters Podcast: Kamala's Fawn-a-thon of 84 Percent Positive News

The latest special report by veteran MRC researcher Rich Noyes found that since Joe Biden was forced out of the presidential race, the ABC/CBS/NBC evening newscasts have given her 84 percent positive coverage. That's unprecedented in our MRC history. Noyes noted "the spin of Harris’s coverage has been more positive (84%) than any other major party nominee, even as Trump’s coverage has been nearly entirely hostile (89% negative)."  In 2020, we calculated that the networks supplied Joe Biden with 66% positive coverage during the general election, while media scholars Robert Lichter and Stephen Farnsworth (using a similar methodology) found 68% positive press for Democratic nominee Barack Obama, “the highest...recorded for any nominee over the past six election cycles” by the nonpartisan Center for Media and Public Affairs. Not only has she received more positive coverage, she's received more coverage overall than Trump, which has not been the pattern in the Trump era. He generally attracts more negative attention than the Democrats get positive attention. "During the past four weeks, the networks have gifted the most airtime to new Democratic candidate Kamala Harris — 221 minutes of coverage on the evening newscasts, or about 66 percent more than Trump (133 minutes)." A similar tilt came in the coverage of the vice-presidential selections. J.D. Vance's coverage was more negative than Trump's -- 22 negative statements to just two positive ones, for a harshly negative 92% bad press score. These shows spent almost 11 and a half minutes on "childless cat ladies" comments. Then came Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who drew eight positive statements vs. five negative ones, for a 62% positive press score. Network reporters only twice explained Harris’s ideology to viewers. On July 21, CBS’s Weijia Jiang noted that Harris “has a liberal voting record that could be balanced with a more moderate VP.” Three days later, NBC’s Liz Kreutz identified Harris as a “self-described progressive prosecutor.”  Kamala controversies barely bubbled up. The ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts spent a grand total of 25 seconds on the idea — always presented as a Republican charge — that the Vice President hadn’t been truthful about Joe Biden’s cognitive decline. The complaint that Harris was being handed the nomination without receiving a single vote?  1 minute, 59 seconds of airtime over four weeks. When the story emerged on August 3 that Kamala's husband Douglas Emhoff destroyed his first marriage by cheating with the nanny (who got pregnant), ABC offered zero seconds. NBC offered 25. CBS was the "leader" with 52 seconds.  Saddest of all, Harris’s failure to have any meaningful interactions with the press was a teeny-tiny story. A paltry 57 seconds of coverage from these three zero self-respect broadcasts combined. Enjoy the podcast below, and recommend this to a friend who thinks Kamala Harris is generating "momentum" without all this media boosterism.

How Trump can win back evangelicals before it’s too late

How Trump can win back evangelicals before it’s too late

So what do we need to understand about Evangelicals for Harris, other than the ads prove everything in Megan Basham’s new book to be correct? You should be concerned. Because while these devils know they’re not going to get almost any white evangelical votes with this blasphemy, they’re doing it anyway because they want to limit how many white evangelical votes go to Donald Trump. There are certain ratios that must work for them to win, and they are trying to slim that cohort of the electorate by inducing them to stay home on Election Day.All Trump needs to do is take pride in his record instead of distancing himself from it.Whether you like Trump or not, you must recognize that faith, family, and freedom are under threat due to such maneuvering. Here’s the bottom line: If Donald Trump secures the 80% of white evangelical voters he garnered in 2016, he will likely win in November. If his support drops to the 76% he received in 2020, he’s probably going to lose. And if white evangelical turnout falls below 25% of the total vote, Trump will almost certainly lose, regardless of the percentage of that demographic he wins over.Evangelicals for Harris is designed to target suburban women, particularly those who are nominally churched or even more devout. However, most of the churches they attend are Pottery Barn-style megaplexes, where they’ve been taught that being nice, no matter the situation, is the 11th commandment God forgot to include in the original draft. But here’s where you need to notice that the Evangelicals for Harris ad making the rounds doesn’t mention baby murder in any context at all. It merely points out Trump’s unrepentance, because abortion is the one issue that historically might cause the nicer-than-God types to hold their nose and vote for Mr. Mean Tweets.Meanwhile, Trump is getting destroyed right now in every battleground state with pro-abortion ads. The Democrats did not take one ad off the air because Trump figured he could moderate on the issue after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. They understand that turning out their base while depressing yours is the ticket to ride.Trump needs to fix this, and if he doesn’t, it will be the equivalent of Hillary Clinton not going to Wisconsin in 2016. He is leaving voters behind who should be rallying to him as the most pro-life president since Ronald Reagan. Why can’t we ever learn this lesson? When the devil is going to call you all the same names anyway, you might as well go all-in with the angels.I’ve spent as much time mobilizing and messaging to evangelical voters in the last 20 years than almost anyone else in this business. These voters are not going to respond to being told to vote Trump just because they have nowhere else to go. They live in the suburbs, and life is still pretty good there. Groceries are definitely more expensive, but they can still afford the weekly trip. So they need a compelling reason to care, and if you think I’m wrong, you can ask Presidents McCain and Romney to verify my math. This bloc of voters wants elections to focus on their issues, not the candidates’ ambitions. All Trump needs to do is take pride in his record instead of distancing himself from it. He should simply tell people that Amendment 4 in Florida is heinous and that 80% of Americans oppose such limitless infanticide. Assure voters that he will vote against such evil in his own state. That’s it. He doesn’t need to suddenly become an abolitionist, as no one would believe that anyway.Take the win. Please. So much depends on it, and this is something we can control. We cannot control Kamala Harris manipulating the Google search engines. We cannot control the polling psyops. But there are 3-5 points’ worth of evangelical white women sitting in the suburbs waiting to see if Trump will speak their language. If he wants to win, he will.

Toddler loses foot in latest day care atrocity

Heard the latest from JD Vance? He wants to "Handmaid's Tale" all menopausal women into a National Babysitting Corps. At least that's what the reaction to a podcast appearance he made in 2020 suggests. In reality, when Vance agreed with host Weinstein’s assertion that “the whole purpose of the postmenopausal female” is to help with childrearing, he was simply confirming what most people with kids take as simple common sense. To translate Weinstein's nerdy evolutionary bio-speak: it sure is nice when grandparents are around to help out with the kids. There are many reasons why it is better for parents to rely on extended families than on some kind universal childcare. One of them is tragically illustrated in news story after news story: parents who must entrust their young children to the care of strangers are taking a real risk. Consider the latest atrocity. Washington state officials reportedly suspended a day care's license after a toddler's foot was amputated, and the family says a lawnmower incident is to blame. Stacey Elliot said her 2-year-old son Mateo Pacheco Elliott has been hospitalized in Seattle since the horrific June 24 incident.'You should be able to trust the provider to take complete care of them and not severely injure them.'Angela Axelson, a close friend of the family, told KING-TV the boy wanted to speak to the owner who was riding a lawnmower. "[He] went running up to the lawnmower, slipped and fell. Went under and his leg was amputated," she said. Axelson also started a GoFundMe page to help the family.“Parents being out of work right now and what not just makes it hard for them. I want to be able to help them in any way possible," Axelson told KING. “I’ve been friends with Mateo’s mom for about 10 years. It's made it even harder seeing someone I watched grow up have such a horrible injury.”A Quincy Police Department investigation didn't find enough evidence to justify criminal charges, but the state's Department of Children, Youth and Families decided to suspend the day care's license. The investigation is ongoing. KING said it wasn't able to obtain a comment from the day care owners. Axelson said the family is considering taking legal action. "Yes, accidents can happen but when you're paying people to take care of your children, you should be able to trust the provider to take complete care of them and not severely injure them," Axelson added to the station. "Keep praying for the family and pray that he has a quick recovery and they can get home soon and try to resume life as normal as they can." The family shared video of the child in the hospital that's part of a KING video report. America should do whatever it can to support strong families; JD Vance has long advocated for many policies to do just that, including an expanded child tax credit. But legislation that would encourage already struggling families to outsource child-rearing to day cares is a step in the wrong direction. Like Blaze News?
