Democrats’ Free Abortion Pills: How Big Pharma Benefits from the DNC

Democrats’ Free Abortion Pills: How Big Pharma Benefits from the DNC

Attendees at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this week will be able to get free abortion pills courtesy of Planned Parenthood. The group says the handouts highlight the importance of protecting abortion — but they also show how Democrats cozy up to Big Pharma. Abortion pills like mifepristone — which Planned Parenthood Great Rivers is providing outside the DNC – could earn Big Pharma hundreds of millions of dollars each year. By establishing a medication abortion outpost at the DNC, where abortion is expected to be a major topic of discussion, Planned Parenthood is reinforcing the connections between pro-abortion groups, Big Pharma, and the Democratic Party. It’s not the first time in recent history that Democrats have sided with Big Pharma. Once Joe Biden became president, Democrats began demanding and implementing COVID-19 vaccine mandates, which helped Big Pharma companies Pfizer, BioNTech, Moderna, and Sinovac see $90 billion in profits, according to the Centre for Research on Multinational Corporations. Pfizer alone brought in $35 billion in net profits, according to the organization. The pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute reports that medication abortions account for 63 percent of the 1,037,000 abortions performed in the United States in 2023. That’s 653,310 abortions. And while the cost of medication abortion varies, Planned Parenthood says on its website that it charges $580 on average. So, if Planned Parenthood had performed all the medication abortions in 2023, the total revenue would have amounted to over $378 million. That’s a lot of money for Big Pharma. And it’s largely thanks to Planned Parenthood. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) pegs the cost of mifepristone and misoprostol — another drug used for medication abortions — at around $300. But even that is way more than the actual cost of these drugs. Healthline says mifepristone retails for $80. but if the pills are prescribed “off-label,” they can cost under $20, with misoprostol costing around $5 for a single dose. When the state of Washington purchased 30,000 doses of mifepristone in 2023, it cost taxpayers $1.28 million, according to USA Today. That means the state paid about $42.66 per dose. At that rate, drug companies would have brought in $27,870,204.60 in revenue thanks to the medical abortion drugs. And this is all despite laws limiting abortion and the sale of drugs like mifepristone. Many Republican-led states placed limits on abortions after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022. Bans or restrictions are currently in effect in 21 states, resulting in about 32,000 more babies being born per year. Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, have a long history of supporting abortion without any restrictions. While in the Senate, Harris co-sponsored legislation that would have banned even simple state-level restrictions like making sure an abortionist has admitting privileges to a nearby hospital, The New York Times reported. Walz has bragged that he was so pro-abortion that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked him to “tone it down.” He even apologized after voting for a bill that would have protected babies who survive botched abortions, saying he had accidentally voted for the bill. “Accidentally voted for HR4712 today,” he said. “It was an honest mistake. I meant to vote NO, as I did on an identical bill last Congress. My apologies for the confusion. I’ll keep fighting for women’s access to health care.” A Harris-Walz administration would certainly make it easier for women to get medication abortion, potentially giving Big Pharma even bigger profits. Planned Parenthood Great Rivers said its services will be provided “on a sliding-fee scale.” But most people will likely choose to pay nothing, the New York Post reports. In addition to free abortion pills, Planned Parenthood Great Rivers is also providing free vasectomies outside the DNC. According to the sign-up sheet, all available appointments for the pills and vasectomies have been filled.

Blake Lively Getting Dragged For Saying ‘Tranny’ More Than A Decade Ago

Actress Blake Lively is being called out online for language she used more than a decade ago to describe transgender-identifying people. The 36-year-old is currently promoting the drama “It Ends With Us,” which has drama of its own due to the way the film portrays domestic violence. There has also been criticism of some cast members, including previous comments that have been interpreted by some as transphobic. One X user posted a screenshot of an old quote from Lively that said, “I hope to have a few girls one day. If not girls, they better be trannies. Because I have some amazing shoes and bags and stories that need to be appreciated.” Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Buy here for a theater near you. sometimes ill be quietly going about my day and then ill remember the time blake lively said this to a journalist pic.twitter.com/SIHZcrlzui — joshua ? (@joshcharles_21) August 18, 2024 She made the statement in 2012 while speaking with Elle Magazine, per Page Six.  The post blew up online, receiving 3.6 million views and inspiring strong reactions. Some followers were annoyed with the actress for using that word while others defended her, pointing out it was a different time. “You just blew up the whole smear campaign with this one,” one commenter replied. “Im kinda her biggest critic/hater right now but I must say that the word ‘tranny’ wasn’t seen as derogatory back in those days. It was just short for transexual,” another person argued.  WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI The original poster doubled down with a follow-up, posting another screenshot of an article calling out Lively for using the word at the time.  “This article was published the same month she said this quote, btw. to suggest using the term as a straight woman was acceptable in 2012 is misguided at best and just straight up ignorant at worst – she straight up should have known better,” the X user insisted. The article quoted a 2009 interview Lively did with Allure. She said at the time, “I feel like a tranny a lot of the time. I don’t know, I’m… large? They put me in six-inch heels, and I tower over every man. I’ve got this long hair and lots of clothes and makeup on. I just feel really big a lot of the time, and I’m surrounded by a lot of tiny people. I feel like a man sometimes.”

D.C. Democrat Who Claimed Jews Control The Weather Arrested For Accepting Bribes: Feds

Democrat D.C. Councilmember Trayon White Sr. was charged in federal court on Monday with accepting bribes in exchange for pressuring local government employees to give contracts worth millions of dollars to violence prevention organizations that aim to help underprivileged youth. “Beginning in June 2024, White corruptly agreed to accept $156,000 in cash payments in exchange for using his position as a D.C. Councilmember to pressure government employees at Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (ONSE) and DYRS to extend several D.C. contracts,” the Department of Justice said in a statement. “The contracts at issue were valued at $5.2 million and were for two companies to provide Violence Intervention services in D.C.” The owner of the company that extended the bribes to White was an FBI confidential human source, and his interactions with White, including the moments where he gave him $35,000 in cash on four separate occasions, were all captured on video, the DOJ said. Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Buy here for a theater near you. A large number of FBI agents showed up at White’s luxury apartment in Navy Yard on Sunday and took him into custody. U.S. Attorney Graves said: “Because the investigation into the alleged bribery scheme involved contracts that could soon be awarded and other potential official acts that could be taken, our Office took swift steps to address the alleged crimes we were investigating.” White, who was released on bail after being arraigned in court, faces up to 15 years in prison. He was forced to surrender his passport and must notify the court if he intends to leave the city. Trayon White just left the federal courthouse flanked by supporters. Said nothing. @WTOP pic.twitter.com/AHgbhQ7Ozu — Nick Iannelli (@NickWTOP) August 19, 2024 White garnered national attention in 2018 when he said in a social media post that Jewish bankers control the weather around the world so that they can gain control of cities. “Man, it just started snowing out of nowhere this morning, man,” White said. “Y’all better pay attention to this climate control, man, this climate manipulation.” WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI “And D.C. keep talking about, ‘We a resilient city,’” White continued. “And that’s a model based off the Rothschilds controlling the climate to create natural disasters they can pay for to own the cities, man. Be careful.” Democrat D.C. councilman Trayon White Sr. blames the Jews for the snow D.C. last week, claims it’s a conspiracy for them to take over cities. Halle Berry Seeks Sole Custody Of Son, Citing ‘Detrimental Behavior’ Of Her Ex

Halle Berry is seeking sole custody of her 10-year-old son, Maceo. The Academy Award-winning actress filed court documents alleging that the child’s father, French actor Olivier Martinez, is a hindrance to the child’s “best interests.” Berry is requesting custody “or in the alternative, tie-breaking authority to make all decisions” about her son’s education, health and therapy needs, per legal documents obtained by People. The 58-year-old star claims she “is not perfect” but is “always seeking to prioritize the best interests” of her son. The filing mentioned the child’s “educational challenges” and other concerns the actress had as she “fought for tutoring, an educational assessment and finding an environment that was suitable to Maceo’s needs.” Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Buy here for a theater near you. “[Martinez’s] actions and lack of cooperation with respect to Maceo’s psychological and educational needs have been detrimental to Maceo’s health and welfare,” the filing states. “Respondent’s refusal to allow early interventions have caused Maceo to fall further behind in school, caused Maceo’s acting out behaviors to worsen, and caused further damage to Maceo’s and Petitioner’s relationship,” Fox News reported.  The document includes Berry’s claims that Martinez has been “oppositional, unmoving and withheld his consent for years.” “Because of [Martinez]’s opposition to any interventions whatsoever for years and because of [Martinez]’s prioritizing soccer activities over Maceo’s educational and psychological well-being, Maceo’s educational and behavioral challenges worsened, and he continued to fall further behind in school,” the document states. Berry claimed Maceo would “act out” toward her after “longer periods of custody” with his father. She also stated that Martinez said Maceo was “old enough to make his own decisions.” WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI Berry and Martinez finalized their divorce last year following a lengthy court battle. The actress was ordered to pay her ex-husband close to $8,000 monthly for child support in addition to 4.3% on any income she makes over $2 million, per Fox News. Berry also pays for Maceo’s private school tuition, extracurriculars, and health care. The actress previously went through a messy custody battle with her previous ex-husband, Gabriel Aubry, over their daughter. Their fight turned physical in 2012 when Aubry was arrested following an altercation stemming from him wanting to keep Berry from taking their daughter to France to live with Martinez, who she was dating at the time.

Trump Slams DNC Platform For Referring To Biden As Party’s Nominee

Former President Donald Trump ripped the newly released Democratic National Committee platform on Monday, saying its naming of President Joe Biden as the party’s nominee shows that “the Platform is not that important to them.” The DNC released its platform on Sunday, and it still says Biden is running for a second term despite the president dropping out of the race last month. The party said the platform was passed by the Platform Committee just five days before Biden announced he was stepping down. “In the JUST RELEASED Democrat Platform, they mention Crooked Joe Biden’s ‘second Term’ over 20 times. It shows that the Platform is not that important to them when they won’t even make the change,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. The 92-page DNC platform states in one section, “In President Biden’s second term, he will push Congress to pass legislation consistent with our values as a nation. Legislation must secure the border, reform the asylum system, expand legal immigration; and keep families together by supporting a pathway for long-term undocumented individuals, improving the work authorization process, and securing the future of the DACA program.” Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Buy here for a theater near you. Biden, who exited the race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris on July 21, is set to give the keynote address at the convention in Chicago on Monday night. Harris has been blasted by Republicans for staying quiet about her policy positions and for seemingly avoiding the media while campaigning. The Harris campaign website still does not have a policy platform or list of issues on which the vice president is focusing during her run for the White House. The 2024 DNC platform appears to show that Harris’ positions will be identical to those of her boss. WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI The Trump campaign also took a jab at the Democrats’ platform on Monday, writing on X, “In the just released Democrat Party platform, ‘Biden’s second term’ appears a grand total of 19 times. It’s hilarious incompetence but it’s also the truth. Kamala’s presidency would be a Biden second term. A continuation of his broken economy, broken border, and broken world.” The 2024 DNC platform focuses heavily on the economy, health care, and housing and also vows to tackle the “climate crisis” and push “to restore” pro-abortion laws “in every state.”

Ukraine’s Kursk Offensive: A Strategic Blunder That Could Backfire

Ukraine's recent offensive in Russia's Kursk region, launched in early August 2024, is increasingly seen as a grave strategic error. While bold, the operation has raised concerns over its long-term implications, particularly regarding the diversion of Ukrainian forces from the more critical eastern front. The Kursk offensive, led by Kyiv in a bid to push the war into Russian territory, has indeed caught Moscow by surprise. Ukrainian forces managed to penetrate deeply into Russian territory, capturing several villages and surrounding Russian troops in key areas like Sudzha and Gornal. However, the success of these initial incursions masks deeper strategic vulnerabilities that could undermine Ukraine’s broader war efforts. Ukraine is confirmed to have destroyed the 3rd and final bridge across the Seym River connecting Russian forces to the Glushkovsky District, Kursk Russia can no longer bring supplies or equipment into or out of ~640km2, roughly the area Russia took in the past year in Ukraine pic.twitter.com/4VHt8MmN7i — Ukraine Battle Map (@ukraine_map) August 19, 2024 First and foremost, the offensive has strained Ukraine's already stretched military resources. With Russia still holding significant advantages in manpower and equipment, the decision to open a new front has drawn critical Ukrainian forces away from the ongoing battles in Donetsk and Luhansk. These regions remain central to Ukraine's defense, and the weakening of Ukrainian positions there could allow Russian forces to regain momentum in the east. Moreover, the strategic value of the Kursk operation is questionable. While the incursion may temporarily disrupt Russian military operations, it has not provided a decisive blow to Russia's war capabilities. Instead, it risks provoking a severe Russian counterattack. Moscow has already begun dispatching reinforcements to the region, including Chechen spetsnaz units and former Wagner Group fighters, to push back the Ukrainian advance. A Ukrainian militant filmed a neat Russian village, for some reason supplying everything he filmed with obscenities. The footage shows a neat and clean street, with flowers planted along the roadsides inside KURSK…which will soon be fully liberated by Russia >>>>> Ukraine… pic.twitter.com/kE259Qg2oy — ????? ? (@SMO_VZ) August 18, 2024 Another significant concern is the potential impact on Western support for Ukraine. The offensive, while showcasing Ukraine's resilience, might also raise doubts among its allies about the strategic judgment of Kyiv's leadership. The operation has yet to yield any substantial gains that justify the risks involved, and any prolonged engagement in Kursk could lead to war fatigue among Ukraine's Western backers. The geopolitical ramifications of this offensive are equally troubling. By attacking Russian soil, Ukraine has escalated the conflict, which could harden Russia's resolve and complicate diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war. Moscow has already used the incursion to rally domestic support, portraying the offensive as an existential threat to Russian sovereignty. While Ukraine’s leadership likely hoped the offensive would shift the war’s narrative in its favor, the reality on the ground suggests otherwise. The operation has not only overextended Ukrainian forces but also provided Russia with an opportunity to regroup and reinforce its positions. As Ukrainian troops struggle to maintain their foothold in Kursk, the risk of a decisive Russian counteroffensive grows, potentially leading to significant Ukrainian casualties and a loss of morale. In summary, Ukraine’s Kursk offensive, though audacious, appears to be a strategic miscalculation. The operation has exposed Ukraine to significant risks without delivering meaningful strategic gains, and it could have far-reaching consequences for the country's ability to sustain its defense against Russian aggression. “Boy Meets World” Star Promises She’s “Going To Be Fine” After Sharing Life-Threatening Diagnosis

For women in their forties, an annual mammogram may seem like one more thing to add to our to-do list. But being proactive could save our lives. Danielle Fishel, 43, shared some scary news in an August 19 episode of her podcast, Pod Meets World. She was recently diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. Danielle assured fans she would be fine but wanted to reiterate the importance of yearly screenings. @tmz #BoyMeetsWorld actress #DanielleFishel is sharing a major health announcement — she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer. : Pod Meets World ♬ original sound – TMZ “So I would like to share something with our listeners … I was recently diagnosed with DCIS which is a form of breast cancer,” she shared. “It is very, very, very early. It’s technically stage zero,” Danielle added. “I was diagnosed with high-grade DCIS with micro invasion. And I’m going to be fine. I’m having surgery to remove it.” Danielle Fishel Credits The Finding To A Text Reminder Danielle got checked after seeing the reminder. “The only reason I caught this cancer when it is still stage zero is because the day I got my text message that my yearly mammogram had come up, I made the appointment.” She said that at first, she thought about keeping the news to herself. But, she decided it was important to share to encourage other women to make the appointment and get screened. “My first instinct when I was diagnosed was to do that clam up thing and then what I realized is the more people I talk to, the more people have their own experiences.” She said she feels lucky because it’s easy to push appointments as a mom. “The fact that I am good about going to my doctor’s appointments when, truthfully, it would be so much easier with as busy as I am … it would be so easy to say, ‘I don’t have time for that. I went to my mammogram last year, I was fine…’ And I didn’t… and they found it so early that I’m going to be fine,” she said. This story’s featured image is by Roy Rochlin/Getty Images.
