Meyers Tells Dems Blaming Wokeness For Their Loss To 'F*** Off'

As Democrats try to determine what went wrong for them after the election, NBC’s Seth Meyers had a simple message on Monday for those blaming wokeness, especially transgender sports: “[bleep] off.” Ironically, Meyers demanded those doing this look at themselves instead of blaming others, which is exactly what Meyers didn’t do. After playing a clip of Democratic strategist Julie Roginsky on CNN saying things like “latinx” cost the party with Latino voters, an incredulous Meyers despaired, “You think that's what swayed the election? Why are Democrats forced to answer for every choice of words by anyone even remotely associated with the party? But Republicans don't have to answer for their supporters storming the Capitol or their own presidential candidate’s racism or misogyny or the fact that he says Hannibal Lecter is both real and a cool guy?”     Breaking out his Trump voice, Meyers added, "The great Hannibal Lecter. We love him, don't we? He ate people's brains when they were still conscious. But he never said the term 'latinx,' so we expect that."   First of all, does Meyers really never believe Republicans never had to answer for January 6 or Trump’s “racism or misogyny”? It’s all Democrats and the media talked about. Also, unlike “latinx,” the Hannibal Lecter thing is just part of Trump’s personality and not a political or culture war position. Nevertheless, Meyers rolled on, “When you're a well-played Democratic consultant or you're a cable news pundit, it's much easier to beat up on some fake woke boogie man than do any actual self-reflection. When they're not busy blaming wokeness, they're throwing trans people under the bus.” In a clip package, Rep. Tom Suozzi was seen telling a local New York reporter, “I don't want to discriminate against anybody, but I don't think biological boys should be playing in girls' sports.” Additionally, former Hillary Clinton State Department advisor Philippe Reines told CNN, “Most Democrats I know, think, frankly, that males at birth shouldn't play in women's sports and vice versa.” Meyers responded, “Now, in response to this, I've been pouring over complex electoral data to arrive at a nuanced reply that will take time to explain, which brings us to a segment called ‘Seth gives a long, complicated reply to a thorny political question.’ All right, bear with me, here goes. Anyone suggesting Democrats can win elections by throwing trans people under the bus, let me just say ‘[bleep] off.’” He continued, “If you're choosing this moment—if you're choosing this moment to scapegoat and demonize vulnerable people rather than aim your criticism at the powerful elites and moneyed interests who paved the way for the return of Trump, and stand to benefit from his second term, you're way off.  For Meyers, accountability and self-reflection are things other people need to do, “Instead of blaming marginalized people, maybe look inward. Take some accountability. This is like the Jets saying they keep losing because there's one guy sitting all the way up in the upper deck who's distracting them. ‘He keeps screaming, 'Fooball's a tool of the patriarchy' and it's really throwing us off.’ The answer to losing an election is not to abandon marginalized communities, it's to stand in solidarity with them while challenging the powerful elites who aided and stand to benefit from a second Trump term.” Meyers just doesn’t get it. Elites, like him, are the ones pushing boys in girls’ sports, “latinx,” and other fringe progressive obsessions that people just don't want. Here is a transcript for the November 11-taped show: NBC Late Night with Seth Meyers 11/12/2024 12:51 AM ET SETH MEYERS: You think that's what swayed the election? Why are Democrats forced to answer for every choice of words by anyone even remotely associated with the party? But Republicans don't have to answer for their supporters storming the Capitol or their own presidential candidate’s racism or misogyny or the fact that he says Hannibal Lecter is both real and a cool guy?  [TRUMP VOICE] "The great Hannibal Lecter. We love him, don't we? He ate people's brains when they were still conscious. But he never said the term 'latinx,' so we expect that."  When you're a well-played Democratic consultant or you're a cable news pundit, it's much easier to beat up on some fake woke boogie man than do any actual self-reflection. When they're not busy blaming wokeness, they're throwing trans people under the bus. TOM SUOZZI: I don't want to discriminate against anybody, but I don't think biological boys should be playing in girls' sports. LOCAL NEWS REPORTER: Surprising comments from Democratic Congressman Tom Suozzi this week, speaking on an issue that has divided many along party lines and echoing what are usually Republicans' views. PHILIPPE REINES: Most Democrats I know, think, frankly, that males at birth shouldn't play in women's sports and vice versa. MEYERS: Now, in response to this, I've been pouring over complex electoral data to arrive at a nuanced reply that will take time to explain, which brings us to a segment called "Seth gives a long, complicated reply to a thorny political question."  All right, bear with me, here goes. Anyone suggesting Democrats can win elections by throwing trans people under the bus, let me just say [bleep] off. If you're choosing this moment—if you're choosing this moment to scapegoat and demonize vulnerable people rather than aim your criticism at the powerful elites and moneyed interests who paved the way for the return of Trump, and stand to benefit from his second term, you're way off.  Instead of blaming marginalized people, maybe look inward. Take some accountability. This is like the Jets saying they keep losing because there's one guy sitting all the way up in the upper deck who's distracting them. "He keeps screaming, 'Football's a tool of the patriarchy' and it's really throwing us off." The answer to losing an election is not to abandon marginalized communities, it's to stand in solidarity with them while challenging the powerful elites who aided and stand to benefit from a second Trump term.

STUDY: 89 Percent Of Saturday Night Live's Fall Campaign Jokes Targeted Trump

During its five shows during the fall presidential campaign from September 28 through November 2, a Media Research Center study found that NBC’s Saturday Night Live Weekend Update anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che told a total of 38 jokes about Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. Of these, 34, or 89 percent, were about Trump. Additionally, MRC analysts counted five jokes about JD Vance and one for Tim Walz, or 83 percent to 17 percent. Together, the 39-5 slant against the GOP ticket equates to 87 percent.  An early MRC study found that 98 percent of the daily late night comedy shows’ jokes targeted Trump, but that should not lead one to think SNL was lighter on Trump. A nearly 9:1 ratio is still wildly imbalanced and having a sample size of nearly 1,400 fewer jokes over 131 fewer episodes can give a false impression that SNL was fairer to Trump. In fact, SNL got more imbalanced as the campaign proceeded. On September 28, Jost and Che were relatively equal with a 5-2 joke count against Trump. Neither Vance nor Walz was targeted that week. The following week, October 5, saw the tally go 3-0 against Trump and 3-1 against Vance. On October 12, the quantity of Trump jokes started to pick up as he was joked about eight times to Harris’s one. Vance was targeted twice while Walz escaped ridicule. On the 19th, Trump jokes outnumbered Harris jokes 9-0, while both VP contenders escaped Jost and Che’s jesting. After a week off, the final pre-election episode on November 2 featured nine Trump jokes and only one Harris joke. Again, Vance and Walz were not mentioned. All though cold opens were not a part of this study, Harris herself appeared on November 2 to urge the audience to vote for her. That was also the episode where Jost and Che went after Trump the hardest. One Che joke claimed Trump is a Nazi: “Donald Trump held a rally in Madison Square Garden and honestly, it was all white. Speakers hurled insults at minority groups, used Nazi rhetoric, and suggested that Democrats should be slaughtered, but this lady has a weird laugh, so I still can't decide. Donald Trump defended himself from claims that he's a fascist, saying I am the opposite of a Nazi. Yeah, but opposites attract, so.”      That bit about Harris’s laugh was the lone joke about Harris and even that was part of a plea for viewers to vote for her. Also, the part about opposites attracting was shown with a picture of neo-Nazi boaters showing up at a MAGA boat parade, but Che left out the part where the MAGA crowd sprayed water on the intruders, swore at them, and flipped them off. Another November 2 Che joke was “I've been trying to figure out this whole time why Donald Trump even wants to be president. He's like 80-years old, his brain is mush. Someone tried to kill him twice. And yet he's in a garbage truck pretending to like Wisconsin? What's in it for this guy? But then I realized if he doesn't win this race, he could go to jail, like literally. His sentencing is coming up right after the election. That's why he's blowing that microphone. He’s trying to suck his way to freedom.” Just like their daily show colleagues, SNL tried its best to drag Harris across the finish line, but it did not work. Perhaps 90 percent joke rates aren't the way to endear yourself to the whole country.

January 6 arrests by Biden-Harris DOJ soared in 2024 despite looming election

As voters went to the polls Nov. 5 — many motivated by the weaponization of government by the Biden-Harris administration against its political foes — the U.S. Department of Justice announced that the FBI made its 1,561st Jan. 6 arrest. In its 46-month statistical update, the DOJ also said only one defendant received a sentence reduction based on the landmark 2024 Supreme Court ruling in Fischer v. United States. On June 28, the high court greatly restricted use of the controversial 20-year obstruction of an official proceeding felony charge in Jan. 6 cases. 'All defendants charged in the January 6 prosecution have been charged with some form of trespass or disorderly conduct.' According to the new report, the FBI made 296 Jan. 6 arrests during the first 10 months of 2024, a 23% increase. Since Nov. 6, 2023, the FBI has arrested 359 people, a 30% increase. Arrests are up 73% since November 6, 2022, the DOJ reported. Of the 979 defendants who have pleaded guilty in Jan. 6 cases, 32% were for felony charges and 68% were for misdemeanors, the report said. Of those who pleaded guilty to felonies, 169 were for assaulting law enforcement, 127 for obstructing law enforcement during a civil disorder, and 69 for assaulting law enforcement with a deadly or dangerous weapon, the DOJ report said. Of the 1,028 defendants who have had their cases fully adjudicated, 63% were sentenced to incarceration; 14% were allowed to serve their sentences in home detention. More than 200 defendants have been found guilty in contested trials, including 10 for seditious conspiracy. District of Columbia juries have found every Jan. 6 defendant sent before them guilty of at least some of the charges. Several defendants were fully acquitted in bench trials. Another 40 defendants were found guilty based on an agreed-upon set of facts, the report said. The most common charge against Jan. 6 defendants is for entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, a misdemeanor. Use of the charge was recently upheld 2-1 by a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. The DOJ no longer reports the number of defendants charged with entering and remaining. The monthly report now simply says, “All defendants charged in the January 6 prosecution have been charged with some form of trespass or disorderly conduct, in violation of federal criminal codes.” U.S. Marine Corps veteran Michael Fitzgerald of Janesville, Wisconsin, is being prosecuted by the DOJ despite suffering from terminal colon cancer. Read his story here. Photo for Blaze News by Chris Duzynski The most recent tally — reported in August 2024 — said 1,417 defendants were charged with entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds. The DOJ has charged more than 355 individuals with corruptly obstructing, influencing, or impeding an official proceeding, a 20-year felony. Prosecutors have accounted for only 259 of these defendants in its monthly report since July 2024. In the Fischer ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court largely curtailed the DOJ’s unprecedented, novel use of the white-collar crime statute 18 U.S. Code 1512(c)(2) in Jan. 6 cases. The DOJ said it has dropped the 1512(c)(2) charge against 96 of the 126 defendants who had cases pending at the time of the Supreme Court ruling. Prosecutors “will continue to pursue the charge for approximately 13 defendants and continues to assess the remaining defendants,” the report said. Of the 133 defendants whose cases were fully adjudicated before the Fischer ruling, the DOJ didn’t oppose dismissing the 1512(c)(2) charge in 54 cases, the report said. Only one defendant has had a sentence reduction due to the Fischer ruling, the report said. In a number of resentencing hearings, judges have granted upward departures from federal sentencing guidelines to offset any benefit from dismissal of the 1512(c)(2) charge. Like Blaze News? Trump's EPA pick may be a nail in the coffin of federal climate alarmism

Trump's EPA pick may be a nail in the coffin of federal climate alarmism

President-elect Donald Trump announced Monday that he will appoint former New York Rep. Lee Zeldin (R) to run the Environmental Protection Agency. With Zeldin at the helm, the EPA will likely drop its climate alarmist outlook, maintain meaningful environmental standards, and get out of the way of American innovation. "Lee, with a very strong legal background, has been a true fighter for America First policies," Trump said in a statement. "He will ensure fair and swift deregulatory decisions that will be enacted in a way to unleash the power of American businesses, while at the same time maintaining the highest environmental standards, including the cleanest air and water on the planet." Trump noted further that Zeldin will "set new standards on environmental review and maintenance that will allow the United States to grow in a healthy and well-structured way." Zeldin, who came within seven points of winning the 2022 New York gubernatorial race, noted, "It is an honor to join President Trump's Cabinet as EPA Administrator. We will restore US Energy dominance, revitalize our auto industry to bring back American jobs, and make the US the global leader of AI. We will do so while protecting access to clean air and water." 'This administration is leaving a truly unprecedented legacy.' As EPA administrator, Zeldin will be positioned to help execute Trump's Agenda47, which calls for the end to "all Joe Biden policies that distort energy markets, limit consumer choice, and drive up costs on consumers, including insane wind subsidies, and DoE and EPA regulations that prevent Americans from buying incandescent lightbulbs, gas stoves, quality dishwashers and shower heads, and much more." Trump has vowed to work to ensure America has the lowest energy cost of any industrial nation, to terminate President Joe Biden's electric vehicle mandate, and to resume focusing on concrete environmental issues as opposed to the abstract threat of anthropogenic climate change. Zeldin has a record to beat: In Trump's first term, the Republican administration axed nearly 100 regulations, primarily at the EPA, and dropped climate alarmism like a bad habit, going so far as to scrap the agency's web page on climate change — enraging climate activists and other leftists. "This is a very aggressive attempt to rewrite our laws and reinterpret the meaning of environmental protections," Hana Vizcarra, a staff attorney at Harvard's Environmental and Energy Law Program, told the New York times after Trump's first term. "This administration is leaving a truly unprecedented legacy." Zeldin, poised to help Trump undo another Democratic administration's handiwork, told Fox News Monday, "One of the biggest issues for so many Americans was the economy, and the president was talking about unleashing economic prosperity. Through the EPA, we have the ability to pursue energy dominance, to be able to make the United States the artificial intelligence capital of the world, to bring back American jobs to the auto industry, and so much more." Ben Jealous, executive director of the Sierra Club, the activist outfit that launched over 300 lawsuits against the first Trump administration in hopes of preventing it from executing the people's will, said in a statement Monday, "Naming an unqualified, anti-American worker who opposes efforts to safeguard our clean air and water lays bare Donald Trump's intentions to, once again, sell our health, our communities, our jobs, and our future out to corporate polluters." Jealous and other alarmists tend to gloss over the former congressman's long-standing support for various conservation efforts. Politico noted that Zeldin has supported geographical watershed programs, including cleanup in the Great Lakes, as well as clamping down on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, also known as "forever chemicals." Zeldin also co-sponsored the Carbon Capture Improvement Act to advance carbon capture technology. Myron Ebell, who led Trump's EPA transition team in 2016, told E&ENews, "I think he has all the ability and political savvy to be a great deregulator." "I think he's capable of mastering the technical side of it, but he also will be a great advocate in public for what they’re trying to do," added Ebell. Former Trump EPA administrator Andrew Wheeler congratulated Zeldin, suggesting, "He will do a great job tackling the regulatory overreach while protecting our air and water." Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) tweeted, "Lee Zeldin is a swamp drainer! Perfect choice for EPA." In the first 100 days, Zeldin indicated the EPA will "advance America First policies" and roll back "regulations that the left wing of this country have been advocating through regulatory power that ends up causing businesses to go in the wrong direction." This upcoming Elon Musk product could radically change society as we know it

Now that Donald Trump will return to the White House as the 47th president of the United States, Elon Musk thinks “it’s going to be a bright future.” And he has several inventions he’s excited to roll out now that Democrats and their plans to control every aspect of society have been thwarted. One of those inventions is the Tesla Cybercab — a futuristic-looking robotaxi that is fully autonomous. Unlike other Tesla models, the Cybercab has no steering wheel, no pedals, and no charging plug, as it charges inductively. According to Musk, the Cybercab is supposedly safer than regular vehicles and offers the opportunity to “turn parking lots into parks.” Dave Rubin plays a clip of Musk pitching his Cybercab, as well as other inventions he’s excited about. “All of these things are possible,” says Dave in reference to Musk’s new ideas, “but they won't be possible if you have an overreaching government that is trying to control everyone.” To learn more about the Cybercab and other Musk inventions, watch the clip above. Here are all the devices Apple sells that still have Lightning ports

Here are all the devices Apple sells that still have Lightning ports

With Apple's recent iPhone 16 event and M4 Macs release, the company followed an important path by eliminating the Lightning port from more devices. By opting for USB-C, not only is the company agreeing with the European Union's Digital Markets Act, but it's also showing a future where customers will be able to use the same cable for all their electronic devices. That said, there are still some products that require a Lightning port and a few accessories that support this old standard. Here they are. Apple still sells four iPhone models with Lightning port Image source: Apple Inc. Although the iPhone 16 series offers a USB-C port, Apple still has three other iPhone models that still rely on Lightning cables. The 2022 iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, and the 2022 iPhone SE 3. While Apple is said to be planning a new iPhone SE 4 for 2025, this means the company will take another year to fully eliminate the Lightning port from all the iPhone models it sells. That means that only when the iPhone 17 is announced will we have a full lineup of USB-C phones. Not only is there still a long way to go, but millions of customers will hold with their iPhone 14 – or older models – for years to come. All iPad models sold by Apple are USB-C, but the first-gen Apple Pencil is still here Apple iPad 9 with keyboard accessory. Image source: Apple Inc. The 2021 iPad 9 was the last iPad model with a Lightning port. Earlier this year, Apple discontinued this product and lowered the price of the USB-C iPad 10. While both iPads work with the first-gen Apple Pencil, Apple also released a USB-C accessory that's perfect for the iPad 10. However, millions of people with a Lightning iPad still require that first-gen Apple Pencil, which is why the company still sells it. Apple Pencil comparison: 1st-gen, 2nd-gen, USB-C, or Pro – which is best for your iPad? There are other accessories Lightning-compatible still available Image source: José Adorno for BGR Apple recently revamped the AirPods lineup. With no more second and third generations available, the company also updated the AirPods Max with a USB-C port. With that, there are only a few Lightning accessories, which include: Lightning EarPods USB-C to Lightning cable USB-A to Lightning cable Wrap up As you can see, in a year, Apple almost killed all the Lightning products it used to have. By 2025, we'll likely only have those three accessories available alongside the first-gen Apple Pencil, as the company will continue to offer them for older devices. Apple’s hotly anticipated iPhone SE 4 might not launch as soon as we hoped

The iPhone SE 4 isn't even out, yet I can't stop recommending this unreleased Apple product. That's because all rumors paint the same picture of this mid-range iPhone that's supposed to hit stores next year. If you're not buying the iPhone 16 but want a new iPhone, the iPhone SE 4 is probably for you. The iPhone SE 4 will deliver flagship performance comparable to the iPhone 16 since Apple wants it to run Apple Intelligence. The only real compromises concern the design and camera. Apple will recycle the iPhone 14 design for this model, and you'll get only one camera on the back instead of two or three. But if you consider the likely price of the iPhone SE 4 — $499 — it should be an instant hit. The good news is that the iPhone SE 4 should launch soon. All reports say the phone is coming in early 2025. But it won't be as early as you might have hoped, with a more recent report indicating the handset won't hit stores until March 2025.
