Via: WVUE pic.twitter.com/0aqzismuxt — The Calvin Coolidge Project (@TheCalvinCooli1) January 5, 2025 Per WVUE: In a subsequent statement, a spokesman said the DA’s office would be closed Monday (Jan. 6), so “the entire OPDA team will be addressed by grief and trauma counselors in the wake of an unexpected tragedy.” “We extend our deepest gratitude to the judges of Criminal District Court and Juvenile Court, as well as the Orleans Public Defenders, for their extraordinary compassion and humanity during this challenging time, as there will be members of our staff who will require time to cope and heal,” the statement added. The statement said the DA’s office would resume normal operations on Tuesday. Records show Kersting was admitted to the Louisiana bar on Oct. 30, 2020. Kersting had been assigned to the office’s SAKI unit (Sexual Assault Kit Initiative), a specialized division that works in partnership with NOPD sex crimes detectives to investigate and prosecute sex crimes cases through the use of recovered DNA evidence. Shamsud-Din Jabbar, an Army veteran from Houston, plowed a rented Ford pickup through a crowd of Bourbon Street revelers in the attack that officials say was inspired by the Islamic State. The FBI recovered a black ISIS flag from the rented truck and found that Jabbar pledged allegiance to ISIS in online videos posted hours before the attack.

Melania Trump to Release Documentary on Amazon Prime

Melania Trump just signed an exclusive deal with Amazon Prime to produce and release a documentary about her life as first lady. The film will offer a unique and rare look into Melania Trump’s personal and professional life as FLOTUS, as well as her activism for children’s development. Filming began last month, and the documentary is schedule to be released in late 2025. It looks like the project is shaping up to be very interesting. Check it out: MELANIA TRUMP TO RELEASE DOCUMENTARY ABOUT HER LIFE WORLDWIDE IN LATE 2025 Amazon Prime has partnered with Melania Trump to produce a documentary offering a rare glimpse into her life. I bet this is going to be AMAZING. pic.twitter.com/t4bFbvsFdK — Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) January 5, 2025 FOX NEWS: Melania Trump signs exclusive deal with Amazon Prime for a documentary film on the life of the First Lady. Melania will serve as executive producer of the film. pic.twitter.com/PsbjEaMXVG — johnny maga (@_johnnymaga) January 5, 2025 From CBS News: Melania Trump is the focus of a new documentary distributed by Amazon Prime Video, the streaming branch of Jeff Bezos’ tech giant, which has exclusive licensing rights for its streaming and theatrical release later this year, the company said Sunday. The incoming first lady is an executive producer on the film directed by Brett Ratner, who was infamously cast out of the Warner Brothers studio after being accused of sexual misconduct in 2017. Amazon said in a statement that the documentary offers an “unprecedented behind-the-scenes look” at Melania Trump and a “truly unique story.” Filming began in December, and the project is slated for release at some point during the second half of this year. “Prime Video will be sharing more details on the project as filming progresses and release plans are finalized. We are excited to share this truly unique story with our millions of customers around the world,” the company said. The former and now future first lady also released a self-titled memoir late last year. Her husband takes office on Jan. 20. The film is the latest connection between Amazon founder Bezos and President-elect Donald Trump. The company in December announced plans to donate $1 million to the President-elect’s inauguration fund, and said that it would also stream Trump’s inauguration on its Prime Video service, a separate in-kind donation worth another $1 million. The New York Times also reported: Amazon said on Sunday that its Prime Video streaming service would release a “behind the scenes” documentary about Melania Trump’s life. The film will head to movie theaters and stream on Amazon Prime in the second half of this year, the company said in a statement. Mrs. Trump will be an executive producer of the documentary, which started filming in December, the month after her husband, Donald J. Trump, won the presidential election. Amazon said it was “excited to share this truly unique story.” The company and its founder, Jeff Bezos, who also owns The Washington Post, had a rocky relationship with Mr. Trump during Mr. Trump’s first presidential term. But in recent months, Amazon and Mr. Bezos have taken steps to repair it. The tech giant said last month that it would donate $1 million to the president-elect’s inaugural fund, joining Meta and executives of some other Silicon Valley companies in writing checks to the inaugural committee. Mr. Bezos has said he is “very optimistic” about Mr. Trump’s new term in office and is eager to work with his administration on reducing regulation. I think Melania’s documentary is going to be a hit. What do you think? Are you looking forward to watching?

Jack Smith’s Top Prosecutor in Classified Docs Case Suddenly RESIGNS from DOJ

The cockroaches are scurrying ahead of President Trump’s inauguration… Jay Bratt, top prosecutor in Jack Smith’s classified documents case against President Trump, just abruptly resigned from the Department of Justice. He was one of the main guys behind the raid on Mar-a-Lago. News of Bratt’s sudden resignation comes from reporter Michael Isikof. Exclusive: Top Justice Department Official in Trump Classified Documents Case Resigns https://t.co/Zx8wXHM0ga — Hayden Center (@mvhaydencenter) January 5, 2025 From SpyTalk: A top Justice Department national security prosecutor has become an early casualty of the incoming Trump administration, abruptly resigning from the department last week before incoming appointees can retaliate against him for his key role in special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into the former president. The resignation of Jay Bratt, a career lawyer who served as chief of the counterintelligence and export controls section inside the national security division before being detailed to Smith’s staff, has not been publicly announced by the department. But three sources familiar with the move described it to SpyTalk as a significant and even chilling event previewing a potential exodus of seasoned government lawyers and FBI agents who fear the wrath of Pam Bondi, Trump ’s pick for attorney general, Kash Patel, his intended nominee for FBI Director, and their expected army of MAGA loyalists in line to fill out top posts. Raw Story added: A Department of Justice attorney resigned from his post, and was immediately targeted by a Donald Trump legal ally. Trump and his team are reportedly looking for retribution specifically against Jay Bratt, the counterintelligence chief within the Justice Department’s national security division. But Bratt has now reportedly resigned. That won’t insulate him from becoming a target, according to former GOP staffer Mike Davis, who has made headlines for his social media comments in the past, and was rumored to be on Trump’s list for attorney general. News of Bratt’s resignation comes just one day after President Trump announced that he is nominating Stanley Woodward as a top WH advisor. Jay Bratt had threatened Woodward during the classified docs case… As Julie Kelly pointed out: Jay Bratt resigns. Rats are trying to flee the sinking ship. This comes the day after Pres Trump announced Stanley Woodward, who Bratt threatened in the classified documents case that Bratt spearheaded, will be a top legal advisor in Trump White House. https://t.co/PVb8TW6SVJ — Julie Kelly (@julie_kelly2) January 6, 2025 Former GOP staffer and attorney Mike Davis called out Jay Bratt on X: You can run, Jay Bratt. But you can’t hide. You’re the biggest snake of them all. You orchestrated the illegal Mar-a-Lago raid. To coverup Crossfire Hurricane—the biggest scandal in American history. Justice is coming. Nobody is above the law. Lawyer up, buttercup. https://t.co/tidnehOr4J — Mike Davis (@mrddmia) January 6, 2025 “You can run but you can’t hide…” Let that be a message to all of those facing the hammer of justice underneath President Trump’s upcoming administration. It’s long overdue.

BREAKING: Canada PM Justin Trudeau Expected to Resign This Week

Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau is expected to resign early this week, with sources saying it could be as early as tomorrow. He is expected to make the announcement sometime before a national caucus meeting this Wednesday. This comes amid dwindling approval ratings for Trudeau. The people have had enough! Take a look at the breaking news: #BREAKING: Justin Trudeau to resign as Prime Minister of Canada by Wednesday – Globe pic.twitter.com/AgGOt8ATJA — Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) January 6, 2025 BREAKING: Justin Trudeau expected to resign early this week: reporthttps://t.co/e1lOUTTKER — Jack Poso (@JackPosobiec) January 6, 2025 BREAKING! Justin Trudeau to step down as Canada’s prime minister this week. This is great news for the people of Canada! pic.twitter.com/OttT6txgyK — Mike Tacular (@MikeTacular33) January 6, 2025 Fox News reported: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is reportedly expected to resign from his position as early as Monday, according to Canadian media. The news was first reported by the Globe and Mail on Sunday night, citing three sources. The outlet said that it is unclear when exactly Trudeau will step down, but it is expected to come before a national caucus meeting on Wednesday. The news comes as Trudeau’s popularity continues to dwindle in Canada, which is expecting a national election on Oct. 20 of this year. According to Canadian pollster Angus Reid, Trudeau has a disapproval rate of around 68% as of Dec. 24, with a meager 28% of Canadians supporting him. The potential resignation would also come after Trudeau braved a difficult few months in politics. In September, he faced a no confidence vote in parliament that later failed, despite efforts from the Conservative Party to remove him from office. The Washington Examiner added: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will announce his resignation as leader of the country’s Liberal Party early this week, Canadian media reported. According to a report from the Globe and Mail that cited three unnamed sources, Trudeau is expected to step down from leadership by Wednesday, when a national caucus meeting is scheduled. Trudeau’s resignation would lead to a race for party leadership, and the winner would be the next prime minister of Canada.
