Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) posted a video to social media on Tuesday showing how he believes drivers should handle far-left protesters who sit in the street and block traffic. Cotton promoted the video on X just a day after calling for people to confront protesters who block traffic and remove them from the road. “I encourage people who get stuck behind the pro-Hamas mobs blocking traffic: take matters into your own hands to get them out of the way‚” Cotton posted on X on Monday. “It’s time to put an end to this nonsense.” Cotton’s remarks came as far-left pro-Palestinian protesters blocked roads across the country on Monday to protest Israel‚ which just endured an attack from Iran over the weekend. The most notable examples of protesters blocking roads included Interstate 190 leading into O’Hare International Airport in Chicago‚ the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco‚ and Manhattan-bound traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. Other examples included protesters shutting down Interstate 5 in Oregon‚ streets in Philadelphia‚ and the main road leading to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Professional squatters who set up shop in celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s $16.1 million York &; Albany gastropub were served eviction papers‚ which prompted some of them to leave but others to ignore the directive and stay. The group Camden Arts Cafe‚ who call themselves an “autonomous cafe in the heart of Camden‚” replied to the papers by expressing disappointment about the situation.  “We are sad to announce Camden art collective have left the building after being served papers yesterday‚” they wrote on Instagram‚ per The New York Post. “We wish those left in the building the best of luck in their endeavors. We hope to be a part of the community again soon.” The group had previously defended setting up in the shuttered restaurant‚ saying they had a right to occupy the venue because it was not a residential building and was therefore not included under 2012 legislation which protected private residences from squatters in the U.K.‚ per The Independent.  Each of the squatters referred to themselves as “Gordon” to protect their identities. They told the outlet they were occupying the space as a form of protest for so-called “victims of gentrification” and the U.K.’s planned high-speed railway‚ H2S‚ which has an estimated completion date between 2029 and 2033. “We aim to open our doors regularly to anyone and everyone‚ particularly the people of Camden who have been victims of gentrification and parasitic projects like HS2‚” the group said in a previous social media post. The US Sun reported that the pub was temporarily closed while the Food Network star was finalizing a new lease. During the interim‚ the professional squatters circumvented security measures and moved themselves in.   “The York and Albany is an iconic building in Camden since its opening in the 1820s; it has withstood wars and bombs‚ and despite what the media says‚ it will withstand the potentially short but hopefully long stay we squatters have here‚” they wrote. “At a time when Camden market has been bought out by a billionaire and many longstanding local businesses are being evicted from their units‚ it’s even more important that we all band together in all the forms of resistance that we know and can.”

Harvard University has named a leading advocate for Diversity‚ Equity‚ and Inclusion (DEI) practices to a top role with significant influence in choosing the university’s next president. On Monday‚ Vivian Hunt‚ who graduated from Harvard in 1989‚ was tapped to serve as the next president of the university’s Board of Overseers‚ according to the Harvard Crimson. Hunt has sat on the board since 2019. Traditionally‚ the university’s presidential search committees are composed of the 12 members of the Harvard Corporation and the president of the Board of Overseers. The board can veto any committee pick with a majority vote.  “Tyler Jacks and I hope to work closely with Interim President Garber and all of our stakeholders to support excellence‚ inclusion‚ and world-class leadership in all that we do‚” Hunt said in a statement‚ referencing the board’s vice chair‚ Tyler Jacks‚ who served on the presidential search committee that appointed its former president‚ Claudine Gay. Gay resigned as president of the university in January after her prior academic work was found tainted with plagiarism. Gay said that the public ire that contributed to her downfall was fueled by “racial animus.”  Hunt is a leading DEI advocate and critic of “meritocracy.” In 2015 while working at the consulting giant McKinsey‚ Hunt co-authored a paper titled “Why diversity matters‚” which argued that companies with more diverse leadership were more likely to perform better‚ according to The Washington Free Beacon. The paper’s findings have been challenged. A study published in Econ Journal Watch in March took issue with Hunt’s central findings and said that the 2015 paper was impossible to replicate‚ a serious problem for any academic study. Hunt has argued in favor of DEI in other settings. Each candidate needed to collect 3‚238 to be eligible for the ballot. The failure of the write-in campaigns has bred some skepticism over the election process to the Board of Overseers.  

The Honorable Matt Walsh‚ self-described as the “wisest‚ fairest‚ most just and most handsome judge in the world” is back to hear two more wild cases on “JUDGED by Matt Walsh.” This time‚ the Daily Wire podcast host gave his thoughts on two strippers who once shared a sugar daddy and a housecleaner scandalized by a house full of stuffed dead animals. “JUDGED” documents real-life cases of people who have been mildly inconvenienced. These petty disputes land at Walsh’s feet‚ and he rules on each case with his deadpan‚ no-nonsense delivery that’s both wise and hilarious. The first case of episode three features a woman suing her friend for backing out of a planned out-of-town trip for the purpose of exotic dancing. The plaintiff‚ Chloe Abadi‚ claims the friend owes her for outfits‚ stripper heels‚ and dance classes she paid for‚ plus travel fees. But defendant Gabby Goldstein insists she backed out of the trip after finding God… again. The two women met because they both had the same “sugar daddy‚” or a man who pays for younger women to spend time with him or provide sexual favors. When the defendant said she originally stopped stripping because she “found God‚” Walsh asked‚ “You found God. But then you suggested stripping to your friend. So at what point did you lose God&;#63;” “Well‚ when I remembered that I made so much money‚” she replied. “Really inspiring conversion story‚” Walsh said. “St. Augustine ‘Confessions’ comes to mind.” The wise judge seemed skeptical that Goldstein once again felt God speaking to her amid the stench of cigarettes‚ alcohol‚ and marijuana in the strip club. “I have found this time with you both to be deeply depressing in so many ways that I can barely articulate‚” Judge Walsh said in his verdict. “This is a difficult case. Not because I’m having trouble figuring out who was right‚ but because I’m having trouble figuring out who is the most wrong. There is no one right here.” “There’s no hero in this sad‚ sad tale‚” he continued. “Miss Goldstein‚ prior to hearing this case‚ I would have thought that the worst thing a woman could do to her friend is convince her to become a stripper. But you convinced your friend to become a stripper and then abandoned her once she followed your suggestion. So it’s a bit like leading her to the poison Kool-Aid and while she drinks it‚ you have a glass of water instead.” Walsh concludes by saying the correct decision would be to sentence both women to spend two years in a monastery to “learn discipline‚ moral virtue and self-denial‚” but barring that‚ he sent them home with nothing besides the directive to “get the hell out of my courtroom.” The second case was scandalous in a totally different way. A house cleaner sued her friend for the balance she said she’s owed after leaving the cleaning project undone. The plaintiff Ash Asauskas said she found a closet of stuffed animals and was chased out of the house by a dog. Asauskas described the property as “the most disgusting house I’ve ever seen in my entire life” and provided Judge Walsh with photographic evidence. “We have a tetanus kitchen here‚” Walsh agreed‚ asking for an explanation of the dead bird in the sink‚ which was allegedly being saved for being “pickled” later. Asauskas said she was eventually forced to leave because of the aggressive dog. When it was time for defendant Aubrey Ropiecki to speak‚ Walsh said‚ “The first question I have is‚ what the hell&;#63;” Ropiecki tried to defend her hobby‚ saying “friends” helped her get “ethically sourced” dead animals to preserve. “So your friends are bringing you roadkill&;#63;” Walsh asked. “I have good friends‚” the defendant replied. “I don’t know if that’s the word I’d use to describe them‚” Judge Walsh said. “How’d you get into this hobby&;#63;” he asked next. “What possessed you&;#63; Are you possessed&;#63;” After listening to Ropiecki justify her “art” and showing him examples‚ including a chicken foot‚ Walsh made his opinions known. “I’m not much of an animal lover myself‚ but if I was a chicken and I died‚ I wouldn’t want to think that this is what has become of me‚” Judge Walsh mused. In his final verdict‚ the judge suggested Ropiecki get a new hobby. “Scrapbooking‚ gardening‚ literally anything besides handling rotting corpses‚” Walsh suggested. Dr. Phil McGraw said on his syndicated television show this week that Americans need to have a conversation about limiting the government’s powers over the people in case another pandemic occurs.
